Lloyd Maunder Carvery in Torbay

As a 56 year old steak lover who has spent many decades eating steak whether it’s T -Bone, Sirloin, Rump, Ribeye, Fillet etc etc today I purchased a tray of Four Rump steaks- cooked them tonight in sane old way and had to empty water from steak tray half way through cooking - absolutely terrible taste, colour, consistency, body and slight smell- reckon they could be from Manibia - worst steak I’ve experienced in FORTY YEARS

Came here to get some fresh local meat and we hit the jackpot the bbq burger bombs were to die for so damn nice, the sausages hit the spot at breakfast times and the chicken were big and full of flavour👌 the staff were friendly and the place was clean and tidy. If up babbacombe again will definitely be returning 😍

Tried a few of the Cooked sandwiches they sell on there little stand.. always smells amazing when you walk past..and taste just as good as it smells..very good food and quality...

This is a takeaway with top quality hot food, mainly cooked meats in rolls or baguettes. Good value food

The homemade sausage rolls from their Dawlish branch are the best in the World. End of review!! ;-( I don't know if the other branches sell them tbh but they should! £1.50 for a huge one - brilliant value too - have paid nearly 3 times that for an 'artisan' one in London which was not a patch on these! The meat is always good from here - their Dawlish shop does 'Meat for a week' for £20 and is excellent value for money. Suspect this in all of their shops. Always good service too! Sorry Paignton branch for bigging up your Dawlish shop but they don't have an entry on here I could find!

We had takeaway food from the hot counter, filling in time until the steam train departed. Excellent!! I am familiar with LLoyd Maunder in St Marychurch. It's a family business with well-deserved success. Their meat is always excellent and very good value. Their value packs and "Meat for a Week" specials are outstanding, as their regulars know. I had a pulled pork baguette which was as good as can be. We go there frequently and will continue to do so. Much better than supermarket meat. Support your independent traders. They work so hard with local producers to bring you the best honest quality in the toughest of markets !! Use them or lose them.

Best value place in town for baguetts and rolls of all kinds, great value for money in the heart of town.

Basic takeaway at the butchers! Sausage baguette was lovely, burgers are good too but above all the food is REALLY inexpensive and terrific value for money

have use this places good few times and other shops maunder have all sort of meats as for butchers places have in past found if you need know something just ask and they try there best help and anytime in devon we use these place a lot to buy meat, as hot food size it not over price

After taking a steady stroll from Torquay to Paignton and heading towards the town centre I stumbled across this place. The size of the queue told me this must be worth checking out, I had an extremely tasty Sausauge,Onion and mustard baguette for the bargain price of a pound. All the other hot stuff like the burgers and pulled pork etc smelt really nice and folk were obviously voting with their feet as the queue was constant. For a quick warm bite to eat I can recommend this shop as top value for money and service.

Had some great barbecue style chicken from here, basic meats burgers sausages etc no problem. Deli lovely. Very disappointed when husband asked for some nice fillet steak for a dinner party. Butcher recommended a pre packed piece. Spent £45 on a big piece of 'fillet' steak as it was labelled. This was not fillet steak, loads of connective tissue, more like braising steak or rump at best!!! Feel cheated and ripped off, our dinner was rubbish.

Not quite a carvery as you would expect but a hot meat roll stand, burgers and hot-dogs might be nice?

Great place to have quick bit to eat. Baguette are full of hot beef, Turkey, or pork.. Great value.. Beware of the seagulls they are waiting to snatch food from hands . Children especially the seagulls take food from there hands.. Even fly in too there pushchairs to take food..

A lovely fresh baguette crammed with sausage for just £2. Excellent value, and served by friendly staff which is always a plus. Strongly recommend!

Lovely quality meat at very reasonable prices always a special offer on various things. Friendly staff. A must is their homemade faggots and great selection of sausages.

Hunger and choosing this place to eat = bad combination .

The baguettes are to die for, really tasty, fresh, and taste delicious, pork, beef, turkey, sausage, all are lovely. They will certainly fill you up.

Love the baguettes, always a favourite with all of our family. Jane is an absolute asset and always has time for my little boy when he asks for his 'salt' on his hot dog. Thank you jane and the guys for excellent service.

Only been here once - there is always a large queue into the street for this place and that puts me off. The prices are very cheap - up to around £2 for a carvery baguette, and with burgers, sausage rolls, hot dogs all at £1. The one time I did visit I had a sausage roll, which, considering this is a butchers, was disappointing. It was overbaked and not very tasty. That said, they must be doing something right. Perhaps it's just the cost that draws the locals in/
