Chelston Grill in Torbay

Little staycation in Torquay and decided to pop in and grab tea. Fast service and lovely food. Better than kebab shops at home

I been try their food about 2 years never staff and owner off the business never let me down since I bleave one off the best kebab shop in Torquay and any issue about your food cast I rung up in shop and they are very polite and helpfull I think very good customer service to thanks for good food Chelston grill staff and boss I will order all time this is my favourite takeaway .I recommend for all off the torguay.

As far as doner kebabs go it was excellent! The meat actually tasted of lamb, salad fresh, pitta bread wasn’t a soggy mess! Large doner for less than $9 it was amazing, staff are friendly too which is always a bonus!

Amazing food big portions and good value for money

Delecious food. Fresh well grilled meat. You can tell they pay a lot of attention to evenly disturbing the heat while cooking, i ordered the mixed lamb and chicken shish combo, huge pieces of lamb, perfectly cooked and tender, chicken was delicious an noisy, unsure what it's seasoned with but it was delicious. Decided to go with all salad which was fresh and crisp. A perfect addition to the soft bread wrap and tender meat. Order arrived a half hour early and the delivery women was very lovely, wishing me a good evening after dropping off the food. Ignore the bad reviews. This place is the real deal. I went for garlic sauce as I'm very fussy when I comes to hot sauce but ive heard through friends the home made hot sauce is delicious.

Last night we ordered two kebabs from yourselves. The best part of the food was the delivery the lady who was extremely polite . They were the worst kebab wraps we have had from yourselves My daughter and I have both been unwell last night and today . We are in Crownhill park if you would like to refund us . We ordered from yourselves because the kebab wraps we've ordered in the past have been fresh and tasty . We asked for salad to be separate in one. We expected green salad not just coldslaw . The meat wasn't very pleasant either . I would like to think this was a one off and don't want anyone to feel unwell as we have .

Had a delivery to our campervan, the food is by far the best I've had from a kebab shop. Went well out of their way to deliver to us att Daddyhole Plain.. would definitely order again and couldn't recommend enough

I got a mixed lamb and chicken Shish,good sized portions and the meat was cooked well and was juicy and tender,the chilli sauce was just right

Had deliveries from them twice when I was in Torquay and was never disappointed. The food was so fresh, I had chicken and lamb shish combo and it was so good. Big chuck of meat, cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, well seasoned, tasted great. Loved the salad too. Had a good mixture of everything in the salad. I wish I'd come across them earlier, I would had ordered from them everyday. One suggestion though, there's no option to choose from either nan or rice instead they bcharge £3.99 for the rice. After paying £16, I do think that it would be good to give customer a choice between rice or nan. But overall food was really nice, and was delivered to me still hot.

New to the area and I was going to try this place but after reading the poor reviews I'll give it a miss

Awful food shocking portions for the price. This place used to be by far the best in the bay. Gone down hill big time.

Absolutely disgusted by the lack of hygiene in this place. No one is wearing gloves when touching the food with their unsanitary filthy hands in which are covered in grease. The state of the floor is like that of a house after a party has been thrown. The people who run this place are covered in sweat as they prepare and cook the meals. It is sickening to even think of eating the food that comes out of this place

Ordered food at approximately 8.50pm. 23.02pm and still no food! 2 messages to say order delayed on just eat. Called restaurant twice after last message about being delayed, and was told at 22.02 driver had left with our order and would approximately 5/10 mins. Waited till 22.45 to call again and be told driver had been apparently pulled over by the police (always a good sign!) and had managed to call restaurant. When asked how long food would be as was told 30 mins previously 'it was on its way' said the man in the phone. Asked if there was another driver 'no there wasn't he finished at 10pm'. Man on phone said he could offer us a discount next time or if our food arrived cold it could be sent back and reheated (despite telling me restaurant closed at 23.00). When I asked for a refund I was told food was on its way. I said it clearly wasn't so I wanted the order cancelled. He said 'what do you want me to do walk to yours and deliver it'!. Bad customer service, very unapologetic or sympathetic to waiting over 2 hrs with no food. Would not recommend ordering from this establishment!!!!!!!!

This was in my opinion the best kebabs in Torquay, but they seem to have gone down hill. Smaller portions more expensive. We ordered through there website and when food arrived it was far from the order

Cannot fault service at all. Ordered 2 kebabs and one came wrong, immediately replaced within 5 minutes of phone call, amazing service, amazing food!

A year ago the food we had was decent. Around 5 months ago it was disgusting. Gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried again tonight. Was even worse. Kebab wasnt cooked,chilli sauce was horrendous and salad looked like it was weeks old. Threw the lot in the bin. If I could give it zero stars I would. Never again that's for sure.

Always busy, decent kebab, staff could be friendlier but I’m not there to be mates I guess.

Great food, great service. I honestly don't have a bad word to say about this place , apart from one order that was delivered as beef instead of chicken. That being said, seeing as I always have the chicken shish which is amazing I must say, it turns out the beef was too! Happy days!!

Ordered takeaway from Just Eat. We had chicken breast mini fillets with chips. The chicken was so overcooked, it was hard and inedible, same as the chips. Also had pizza, which was burnt underneath. Very expensive too. I will definitely not be going there again.

Well I have Just experienced my best ever Donner kebab!And I have had hundreds over my many years. It arrived at the door with a lovely polite young lady right on time.Fresh crunchy salad Prepared to restaurant standards. Fresh bread and succulent nicely seasoned lamb and plenty of it.with excellent chille sauce and garlic mayo on the side.my wife had a cheese and tomato pizza also excellent garnished with lovely fresh basil leaves.cooked to perfection. Well done to the team at Chelston new grill 5 stars

Always great food and great prices

The food is great and the staff very friendly. I order from them at least once a week. The kebab is delicious and the big portion is definitely big, I am always satisfied with the amount. The taste is very very good, I have tried different things such as: burgers, kebabs, pizzas, omelette, jacked potatoes and fried and absolutely everything was very tasty. The price is fair for quality and quantity. It’s one of those places and you wouldn’t tell that food is good until you try, so definitely give it a try and I am sure you will be amazed by the food. They offer delivery and is always before than the expected time!

Absolutely shocking, when you order a pizza that is advertised with a meat topping it should have the meat topping if I wanted an onion pizza I wouldn't of paid for the meat. When I oder the hips to a company my pizza I expect them to be cooked not hard and cold in the middle. I have no clue how this place is busy as the food is not as advertised. Definately won't be wasting another penny in this hovel.

So my job usually means I finish after 10pm. This place was the only place open I could find that was open until 11. Have to say I regret nothing. Super friendly staff and super tasty food. Got there slightly late one evening and they still offered to make me some food because I've ordered here before. If I could advise you to pick a grill, then I would heavily recommend you pick Chelston grill. :)

Get the chefs special kebab.... it's amazing.... although it's a LOT of meat recommend sharing with 2 or 3 people.

Very clean, very fast, and they do deliveries. The food is also excellent a large Doner kebab is only £6 each and they are very large.

This is the best restaurant ever of all time anyone who says differently will die by my hand I always come there and it’s consistent naughty I would die for the grill. Also the customer service is 10/11 the gentlemen cooking and seving are the biggest gs I will kill anyone who insults the grill

Very rude use to order regular always get order wrong decided to go to shop to order only to end in a massive argument because of asking for extra jalapeno peppers would of gave them 0 rating but can’t Said never charged for salad pot but couldn’t understand how pot of chicken meat and a portion of chips all small portions would come to £11 won’t be using them again

Disappointed service!!! Order weekly never had a problem.. ordered tonight found a large human hair ... phoned and complained they hang the phone up and bame us for planting the hair!! Costumer service un real # customer always right clearly not

They could be good but when you take your food cartons out of the bag it should not be dripping like they've poured a bottle of oil in the bag!! Also curry sauce was in a pot already mixed and drying out looked a few days old...they just boiled a kettle and add water

Horrible. Food arrived cold and burnt so tried to arrange refund right away but restaurant refused. After arguing with just eat they offered a voucher and advised not to order from here again which we won't be. After quite a few orders in the past giving a lot of custom this has ruined it all and won't be touching here again. What ever happened to customer being right and good service...if food was hot we would have eaten and not spent an hour trying to resolve and not eat until near 10pm. Brown lettuce was not very happy, chicken Donna was very good as allways, same with the lamb and chicken shish. Just a shame the old salad ruined a great kebab

I was told my food was going to be ready at 11, I went to the restaurant at 10:45 and my food was just sat on the side and it was cold

Ordered several times great everytime just a bit slow on delivery today

Food was very good, tasted amazing and the portions were great for how much we paid. Delivery was earlier than expected and the woman who delivered the food was very friendly and happy

Left instructions in notes to chef which were clearly not followed. Request for one kebab to only have a small amount of chilli sauce and the other to have all salad except tomatoes. The chilli sauce keba came drowning in it to the point that it leaked through the container. Had to rinse off the lamb to make it edible, that comment from someone who loves chilli. Both kebabs ordered had cubed lamb which was very chewy. On the plus side the the kofta shish was nicely seasoned for the one that was not drenched in chilli. Chips were fine. Also time of service fine. I personally will not go here again.

Ordered 2 kebabs, the meat was 4 big clumps of meat. Very poor. This was always my favourite place for kebabs but not sure if new owners but has really gone downhill.

Have ordered from them on numerous occasions tonight's was the worst meal ever burned pitta bread chicken Donna kebab was just dry and burnt crumbs no real pieces salad was also awful coleslaw had very little carrot very unhappy

Ordered 2 lamb shish kebabs today throug just eat, not much meat thankfully as the meat that was there was burnt strips ( not cubes )of grisle , the meat was realy black carbon, this was the worst kebab I have ever had and I have had a few.
