Excellent service with the time our meals were served. We all ordered different meals but all enjoyed our food. The fish and scampi were cooked perfect as well as the pie and curry. Will definitely return again.

Awful food cold and dirty tables. No non alcoholic drinks for the designated driver. Won’t be revisiting this place!

There was one gentleman who worked here (likely the manager) who made the whole thing. Top bloke!

Busy on arrival & told to find a table and order at the bar. After we located a table, we used the QR code on the table & ordered through that. Within 5 minutes, drinks were delivered & within a further 10 minutes, food was served. Hot & cooked perfectly. Staff also, couldn’t do more to assist. Will definitely visit again.

Arrived at lunchtime, the table we initially went to hadn't been cleaned from previous diners. Menu choice was okay, special menu and light bites. On ordering we were told our choice was off the menu... Three out of four meals arrived together the fourth meal was a littler later which the staff did apologise for. Overall a okay experience.

It was only for drinks, but the seating had been reserved and was great, the only drawback was we were seated by the tv that is used for the quiz and some guy came over and started trying to turn it on, didn't say excuse me, just leaned over and tried to turn it on. We found this rude. My stepson found the plug and switched it on so the guy then proceeded to flip the channels. We had booked til 8.15pm, but left earlier because of this guy and the tv situation. But lovely evening and the play area was a hit with the kids.

The food was good. However, the drinks were expensive (over £7 for two large Pepsi max). Even with the 30% the meals weren't much cheaper the comparable venues.

Well organised for covid with a one way system, excellent pint of marsdens and reasonably priced definitely go again👍went there today but a bit disappointed asked for a regular glass of Pepsi max as served at Blaina wharf and the potters but told only served in pint glasses, asked if I could have a half pint glass of Pepsi, no sorry only do pint glasses but i could get.a half pint of larger ,strange!said a pint was too much just a shoulder shrug so paid £8 For a.pint of beer and a PINT of Pepsi and had to leave half a pint of Pepsi,go figure😤👎

Great pub to go with the family or to watch sport. Wonderful staff make the place a top visit.

Food was lovely however there was an hour wait for food and 40 minute wait for desert. We also booked a table in advance which stated we needed a high chair. We were then told where our table was and they have put us on a high rise table where the high chair didn’t reach the height of the table meaning my son was unable to eat his dinner at the table. That was totally unacceptable seeing as we booked in advance and stated we would need a high chair

I called them booked a table for my son and myself. My son who's in his forties, I'm in my late 60s....So we were looking for a quieter meal to talk and relax. But unfortunately we were given seats in the corner amongst all the noisy children. So unfortunately we did not stay very long like we hoped. So sadly we did not stay very long. Don't get me wrong I love children, when my children were young I was happy to sit amongst all the children, with the noise of happy children. Also to top it off, my son was disappointed with his meal, the photograph of the meal that he ordered, and what he got, it was nothing like it. I think the photograph was superimposed to make it look bigger than what it was. The company needs to ask the customer if they're happy to sit in the corner with all the children. Or wait for a more appropriate seating location.

Got to our table at 16:45 and then ordered food for 7 people at 17:10. Went to the bar to ask about our order at 18:00 to be told table in front then our table. Food came at 18:20 chips reheated and still cold and fork struggle to go through them and burger warm luke warm.

It was really good I really enjoyed my cheese burger and my dessert rocky road sundae it was so nice it melted in my mouth now I love the place and the wait was not long I played pool and darts overall I had a brilliant experience and everyone was so nice thank you to everyone that works at lanwern bull

Nice pub diner with TV,s for sports food average but nice service was slow a great drinks choice outside seating available plus a little playground for the little ones drinks reasonably priced plus food !

So visited for mother's day. Admittedly it was very busy, they had run out of lots of things. Staff Were near impossible to get to your table. Food was mediocre at best. Probably wouldn't go again.

Pre planned visit, however highly unlikely we'll return. Hunters chicken was as dry as a desert, like it had been under the salamander way too long, sirloin steak cooked very well done, should have been medium well, was also covered in pepper even though not stated on the menu, wife hates pepper so steak inedible. Challenged but only offered deserts, no thanks. Appreciate its a Sunday and was relatively busy, but standards should still be maintained.

Served by a lovely young girl called Tam, would hire her for customer service in a snap if she applied for a job at my place. Food was nice and it was quiet when my wife and I went but it was a weekday afternoon so probably busier at peak times. Plenty of parking space

The welcome to the restaurant was warm and genuine and we were shown our original table but also informed we could sit anywhere else, that didn't have a reserved sign, if we preferred. We did choose to sit somewhere else, as a big party was about to arrive and we preferred to sit somewhere quiet. Service was quick and the food was delicious.

Every ones food came apart from mine so waited 5 min and still nothing . Asked a member off staff and she said ill find out for you. 10 min later i asked again as no one got back to me. Was told its being cooked so had my food when evry one was on deserts. When complaining they tried to say we didn't order it but we had proof we of it. No apologies or any thing back dreadful service

Came for my son 17th birthday 1st time here and the lady on the bar (blonde hair) as soon as we got there had a massive attitude problem. Even my son said she is really rude very unprofessional.. Asked for the wifi password so my youngest daughter could watch the phone while we was waiting for our food as signal wasnt good and the same lady said go and find the llanwern bull sign and follow instructions very rude lady. my daughter had mash potatoe was like a brick for the price definitely not worth it. Finished our food and we had to clear the table ourselves so we could sing happy birthday to my son. Done that asked for plates to cut the cake up and the same lady got 1 plate and just plonked it on the bar and walked off. When we said we need more plates she said you only asked for 1 but yet there was 6 of us at the table. Will never go ago spolit my son birthday will her horrible attitude

The food was quite appalling, everything on our plates was oily and too over done. None of the staff came to check if everything was okay with the meals. We then decided to order dessert, we choose the desert based on the photo as they looked really nice, we ordered two rocky road Sundays, they were delivered in an iced coffee glass mug. Did not look anything like the photo what so ever and that to be honest was just the straw that broke the camels back. My partner went up to say something to the lady on the bar and she said that’s how they come, well if that is so then maybe you guys need to look into taking a picture of the actual dessert that comes out and not one that appears to be off the internet. She also told us that we could’ve said something earlier about our mains rather than at that moment which was really unprofessional in my opinion as every place we have ever been to come to the table to check if everything is okay are super polite and accommodating. She offered to only refund us for the two desserts which with the experience we have had the whole party’s meals should’ve been refused in my opinion. We definitely will not be returning to this branch.

Wow what a difference this pub has become with the new landlord. Staff are very friendly, food quality has improved immensely. Always a warm welcome and all staff are happy to help

The bar man was rude, and the food was ok until my friend was eating her food and had a long hair in it.

Thought we would try this place once more to see if there was any improvement on the christmas fiasco but to be honest nothing has changed really still waiting a long time to get food 35 minutes.

Had my second bad experience in a few months here with badly overcooked steak and part of my son’s meal not being served. Last time we came order came out wrong again and manager was bordering on rude when I queried a clear overcharge. Will avoid

Popped in for a couple of steaks and a bottle of red for our anniversary Good quality food reasonably priced,great service and very clean Have been before and can be hit and miss but on this occasion it was really nice Only criticism is the choice of real ale But we'll definitely come back

Visited today with my two children and I must say, the lady who was working behind the bar (4pm) & serving was absolutely lovely, she made our visit wonderful. Food was very good and served fairly quickly which is a bonus. Will be visiting again, thank you.

We had booked a table for 12 people a few days in advance but when we arrived we were told that the table wasn't yet ready and the people before hand had been there since 3.30 and we're not ready to leave. We were asked to wait near the bar where our children were in earshot of horrific language from other customers. We were eventually shown a table which was setup for 8 with another table nearby. We had to move furniture around to make space on one table since it was a family celebration. We ordered the food and one meal was brought out 20 mins before the rest. It was dirty fries which consisted of a plate of fries, some microwaved pulled pork and a squirt of BBQ sauce. By the time the rest of the meals were brought out it was also cold. We were offered a replacement to this however due to staff being unfriendly we did not take this offer up. The food was ok, the mixed grill fine, fish and chips had hard batter at the end due to over cooking. A kids sausage and mash had mash that had been microwaved so much it was hard on the edges. We had dessert which was a mixed bag, a clearly prepacked jam sponge pudding from the microwave, with the others being ok. Our first visit and sadly our last.

Went for Christmas day dinner. Loverly place to share with family.

Christmas lunchtime. Table booked for 1.30pm for a party of about 20 people. Such a large party made the atmosphere thankfully as we waited such a long time for the food to be served. Firstly the starters were very slow coming out. We were still waiting for the main course at 3pm. Everyone except two diners had the same turkey dinner which was cold and the turkey was dry - very disappointed!

We haven’t been since there has been new managers and I’m so glad we chose to return. The food was delicious and hot and quick! The service was also warming and just overall lovely and welcoming. Nice to have a friendly community pub again.

We went out for double birthday celebration. Llanwern bull didn’t disappoint. A warm welcome from staff. Excellent food I ordered a mega mixed grill. Well worth it. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it due to the size. Definitely recommend.

Just moved to the area, looked at a couple of pubs but I can now say this is my new local 🍻 great atmosphere

From the initial “Welcome” from a surly gentleman in a Xmas jumper who was clearly having a bad day the experience was very poor. After waiting 45 minutes for our food (a heads up would have been nice, I understand Sundays are busy) when it FINALLY turned up the sausages on my mixed grill were almost entirely black. They were replaced fairly quickly but who ever thought they were acceptable to serve to a customer needs help. My daughter’s gravy boat was plopped in the middle of her meal which was off putting as when she moved it various elements of her meal were stuck to the bottom. Not particularly appetising. We finished eating around 4 0’clock and the restaurant was a lot quieter which made the lengthy wait to clear our table a further disappointment, especially as my Grandsons were waiting to order dessert. All in all very poor value for £75 and I am now seriously considering whether I return to your establishment.

Food was really not well presented and was quite small portions especially for starters based on cost. The drinks were also hit and miss, but the staff were friendly and the place was nice and clean.

We were unaware of the quiz night that was running which was extremely loud. We waited for 50 minutes once we’d finished our starters before finally someone came over and realised we hadn’t been served our mains yet. We then waited 20 minutes for our mains to arrive before they finally did. It was a wholly unpleasant experience

I had lunch here today and it was lovely. I had the tuna melt baguette and they were even kind enough to add some onion for me. The team were lovely and I felt very welcomed. Keep up the good work!

Food ok but service poor. Food bright to us after 40 minute wait with no cutlery. Told the guy who brought us the food there were onion rings missing . He acknowledged this but we never received them and he was busy decorating the bar. Never once came to check if everything was ok. My granddaughters scampi was insufficient in quantity. Will not be returning. Staff were much better on our previous visit. Lady serving drinks at the bar was friendly and competent unlike the person who served us.

Awful! Came for Halloween party...disappointed disorganised no activities as described. No pizza dough so we spent £50 on pub food upset bored kids. Staff had no idea what they were doing at all. Kids running riot. Face paint for £5 actually awful job done. Took a lifetime to wash off too. Upset kids to say the least and ££65 out of pocket for food tickets and face paints and that's without theor costumes.

Excellent service and food celebrating my husband's birthday with my family. There was 11 us of in the party and all meals were served together by very friendly staff, sorry I can't remember there names but they served us very well.
