Liz’s sandwich bar in Bromley

Quite possibly one of the rudest gentlemen I have ever met! Myself and a friend popped in for a coffee and a bite to eat. Whilst my friend was in the queue ready to order I attempted to nip to the toilet where I was confronted by a gentleman (possibly the owner) who abruptly “told me off” for not asking to use the toilet and that I was rude and had no manners. Hasten to say myself and my fiend quickly left the NEVER to return. Shocked to have been spoken to it that manner to say the least!

Very rude owner lying on here saying my friend only came in to use toilet . We was I. The queue to buy a coffee and lunch and she needed the toilet . Owner shouted at her even though he could see we was waiting in the queue . No apology just shocking behaviour to a customer . We walked out and had a lovely coffee and food up the road with friendly staff !

The lady and gentleman working here are always very friendly and welcoming of me and my 5 month old son. Food is always fresh and it is very hygienic.

I am a babysitter for a little boy near Liz sandwhich shop. We were walking towards the croydon rec park when his nose started to run. We happened to be walking by this shop and I popped in to ask for a tissue so we could wipe his nose. As im walking in there was an older woman who didnt even look up to greet us. I approached the cash register where i could see a big stack of napkins. I kindly asked if i could please have one for the little boy and she rudely told me “No, we have to pay for things in here”. I was very taken aback as beckenham is usually surrounded by very amazing shops with great management. It is awful to see this place cant relate. I didnt say anything back to the woman and actually ran in the fish and chips shop next door who kindly gave me plenty of napkins. Ive never been to Liz’s before to eat and now i for sure wont be going. I highly recommend you all do the same to avoid this very unhappy woman.

Went her for a takeaway coffee and their was an older lady serving. Did not know how to make a latte burnt the milk and was one of the worst coffees I have had and normally I’m not that fuzzy on coffees. Not only that but she was really rude to one of her guests who had came up to say she did not order a latte to her table, shouting at the poor lady saying YES you did order this latte. So glad I was not that customer otherwise I would have walked out. Very poor customer service by her.

As I walked outside I slipped and busted my knee on their board floor as it was raining…. The lady said there’s a sign. Yes there is a sign to the side, which is not noticeable unless pointed out and you are in front on top of it🥴🤦‍♀️. I said maybe you should put a non slip mat down, and she said yes she knows!!!!! The tiles on shop floor is also slippery and I showed her but all she said was the floor is fine, dismissing my comment …. Beware of hazardous floors and blasé Don’t give a damn attitude

Had a lovely breakfast this morning when I was up at crazy o’clock! Full English breakfast great with toast and latte at a very decent price. Will definitely visit again. Would have show a photo of my sumptuous meal, but I’ve eaten it!😆

Called in for breakfast Saturday morning. My wife and I each had a full english breakfast. Both were cooked to perfection and an excellent price. Perfect. Lovely owners too - ten out of ten for everything. Highly recommend.

Ate there with my daughter on Friday. Had a can of coke and a piece of red velvet cake, my daughter had a bag of crisps and a hallumi and roast vegetable wrap. A glass was offered as an afterthought for the coke which I’d already started drinking. The cake slice was huge but dry and tasteless, a big disappointment. The vegetables in the wrap were so greasy that the wrap was soggy, the cheese was also soggy and not browned. It was so bad my daughter left most of it. The crisps and coke were the only decent things. When it first opened it was quite nice, has it changed hands? I’ve had an upset stomach since Friday night. We won’t be going back.

Popped in on a Sunday morning for a fry up, couldn't really fault. The lady working at the time was very attentive. Fry up was 8/10 I'm my opinion

£6 for a takeaway chicken escalope roll that was nothing particularly special - that’s extortionate even for Beckenham prices. Wished I’d checked out the other reviews for this place first but I was grabbing lunch on the run.

As a seasoned brunch-goer, I have to say everything about the breakfast I had here was disappointing. It was bargain basement greasy spoon fare, pallid and uninteresting. Thick clumps of white bread toast, boring greasy mushrooms, fatty bacon, reheated halved sausages and hard, not very well cooked tomatoes. I'd have thought it was fairly hard to mess up baked beans but even they were cheap and tasteless. I'm off back to places that cook fresh food to order with care and make it look appetising. Also, there's only one decent sized table in the entire place.

I went with friends yesterday for breakfast and a catch up. We had meant try this cafe for a long time. We ordered 2 full English breakfast and one sandwich. The breakfasts came with toast tea and coffee. We got served our drinks. The tea was lukewarm but passable. My friend’s coffee was ok. However, the cooked breakfast was atrocious. I ordered fried eggs and my friend ordered poached eggs. Toast came first. By the time breakfast came it was cold. My fried egg had a broken yolk and was over cooked and I only got one egg as opposes to my friend who got 2 poached eggs. They were both over cooked too. Beans tasted like the cheapest you can buy in the supermarket. Bacon was fatty and the sausages appeared to be pre cooked and just warmed up on the pan. The fried tomatoes weren’t great either. My plate of food was about 1/2 the size of my friend’s. My other friend’s sandwich was plain but it tasted ok. It was also really unpleasant that the person serving us decided to take a cigarette break in the doorway of the cafe so, that the smoke billowed into the cafe. Unfortunately, we are not going back. I would give this cafe zero stars if I could.

I don't generally leave bad reviews, I only ever like to give good feedback but this is so necessary.. unfortunately this cute little cafe has gone HUGELY down hill since NEW MANAGEMENT has taken over. I visited this cafe a couple of years ago and it was beautiful however now, I don't think I'll ever go back. The service was awful, the menu was hand written on paper with cellotape, not much to choose from and with no prices against it. We waited 25-30 minutes for a drink to then be told they didn't actually have what we had originally ordered after sitting there for ages waiting for it. I was so disappointed because I used to love it here, it's a shame. I took my brother and sister in law for a catch up and ended up having to leave and find somewhere else.

Before ordering I asked the woman is it cooked fresh and she replied yes as I was sitting outside I kept on hearing the microwave going off when the breakfast came out it was with all the the ingredients she had in the window of the fridge I wasn't impressed but I didn't say anything unfortunately the breakfast was very disappointing Zoe brand to the sausages were clearly cheapy ones and I will not be going back

Could be a great place if the staff would be friendly.

One star less for wonky table. Ok it's an old sewing machine table! But food and service was good. Love the medi wrap and pot of tea. My partner wasn't keen on his food served on board preferred a plate. But he's fussy! I liked it!! Will visit again.

I love everything about this place. I leave for work early sometimes so I can sit down there rather than just grab a takeout coffee. If you're local go and have a look. It's young child friendly too 😊
