We were in london unannounced and looking for a place to eat. I remember topjaw reviewing this and the noodles that everyone was raving about. I can only assume it’s changed ownership or given up! Firstly we were shown up a small staircase to a dirty looking room. The staff all sat around eating off one table whilst the others remain dirty, uncleared and with strange stains. One poor lad with limited English was running around the three tables taking orders from 3 different menus, rushing off mid sentence and returning later. When the food did arrive, it was inevitably wrong and quite nasty. All three tables got some fried rice dish. The rice was old, it was full of some kind of over cooked pork and was super spicy. We also all got some weird fried dumpling that was swimming in oil and had pork again in the middle. None of the tables had ordered anything of the like, and it quickly descended into farce. The poor lad didn’t know who had ordered what and from where, so in the end just gave up and said “pay what you want”. We felt sorry and paid for the items he had brought. At no stage did any of the other staff offer to help him, just sat there on their phones eating skewers and dropping the sticks on the floor. I can’t say anything positive I’m afraid. It didn’t look clean, service was awful and the food inedible.

Amidst all the busy restaurants of Chinatown we found this place that had outdoor seating with many vegan / vegetarian options. The food was delivered quickly and we enjoyed the steamed dim sums. The salt and pepper tofu was bit dry and chewy. The noodles were pretty decent. Quick bite for a reasonable price and courteous service.

I know what is Japanese grill but this was excellent experience. It was my first time in the Chinese Grill restaurant. the grill food was excellent, the beaf soup was delicious. The interior design was very nice, luxury. The waiters were helpfull and polite, they showed me how to grill and when it is ready. Little Wooden Hut restaurant locates in Chinatown very close to Leicester Square station.

The region in China this cuisine comes from uses a lot of chilli so expect the dishes to be more intense than normal. Also be mindful that a lot of the dishes contain pork like the fried green Beans (which will probably be the best fried green beans you’ll ever have). If you’re more adventurous try the pigs ears and the beef tendon. As weird as it sounds it’s utterly fantastic! In other words don’t be so western when you come here:) go with an open mind and try “other” styles dishes!

I almost can’t be bothered to write the review but feel that other potential customers need to know about our experience. The restaurant is bland almost like a canteen. We were sent upstairs to sit where the waitress there gave the impression that she really didn’t want to be there. We ordered crispy duck and when it arrived there was no plum sauce so I had to ask for it. It was the thickest gluppiest sauce I’d ever had almost like jam. I also had to ask for a spoon to smooth it on the pancake. My main course was a chicken dish which consisted of so many chopped dried chillies, it made it inedible. The boiled rice looked as if it had been standing around for a while and was dry and an off white colour. Another couple who sat next to us just got up and left their food and I think we should have too. If you decide to visit just be warned... In my opinion it’s the worse Chinese meal I’ve had.

We fancied a meal in China Town and after reading the reviews in Tripadvisor we opted for the Little Wooden Hut. We were seated in the downstairs part of the restaurant which is a small room with about six tables. The downstairs was full when we were in and it was mostly Chinese which is always a good sign. We had crispy duck with pancakes, chicken fried rice and salt and pepper chicken wings. Everything we had was good but the chicken wings were so tasty (Would visit again just for them). We had a glass of red and White house wines both of which were good. The food is transported from the kitchen on a dumb waiter. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The menu isn’t the best layout in my view.

We ordered vegetable salad along other things. In the menu it didn’t say that this salad contains pork. When it was served we explained that due to religious beliefs we do not eat pork. The waiter was understanding and took it away - just to return 5 minutes later with what he called a meat free salad. As we took a closer look we noticed in disbelief that he actually took the meat out of the very same salad we were served previously. There were still small pieces of meat along the veg. That to me is a serious breach and shows disrespect towards the guest.

Visited this little restaurant Sunday around 6. We ordered of the set menu for 2 (duck pancakes, chicken in black bean sauce and chicken noodles. Also ordered chicken wings in cola and chicken chow mien for my child. Food was all very nice and big sized portions. The duck pancakes were really tasty and so was the black bean chicken. Would def recommend and would visit again. £44 covered the 3 of us eating and drinking plenty in the heart of London. Including the optional 10% service charged added automatically to the bill.

We change our options after seeing the dishes display outside the restaurant. We made the right choice- authentic northern chinese cuisine at a very reasonable price We had the spicy crayfish- which was interesting, the sea bass which was very good, taste great and fried to perfection. The spicy noodles gave a nice spicy punch which stirs up.our appetite, yummy dumpling and the fried long beans was so good It is a humble place which offer good food and quick service. I will definitely come back again.

This place has an interesting and extensive menu, but the food....my god was it terrible. I'm a fan of the cuisine, so my experience here was a great disappointment. Earlier in the evening that we ate there, a waiter had been on the street outside touting for business, which should have warned us off, but the lure of the different dishes listed on the menu was enough to overcome any reservations, and by the time we'd decided on patronizing the place it was almost full, which we took as a good sign: Wrong! I ordered two "spicy" dishes--I appreciate heat--fern root noodles in sesame oil, a dish I had never had before, and rabbit in chili oil. The noodles were a sticky, sludgy mess--think cold spaghetti coated with peanut butter--and the rabbit, the rabbit, how to describe the damn rabbit: first, the dish was loaded with dried chilis, not left whole as is normal in this cuisine, but chopped, so the raw heat level was off the charts, and the meat was in little bits the size of a raisin, with each little bit containing a chip of bone, the dish totally inedible. The service was so-so, the waiter cheerful enough, but overworked and forgetful. In the interest of fairness: my companion ordered a stir-fry dish which was OK, and I asked two young women leaving a neighboring table what they thought--they'd ordered spring rolls, egg fried rice, etc.--and their only complaint was there had been some confusion over their order. If you want chop suey joint food, eat here; if you're a fan of regional Chinese food, caveat emptor!

Stumbled across this unassuming restaurant- it lacks the garish nature of many of the other china town stalwarts, and is altogether a bit more understated; the window display is quite basic and the interior minimalist, but the food was absolutely fantastic and the service was...

As it says in the title, this is the place to bear when it comes to authentic and deliciously made bubble tea. The service is always fast and I don’t think I can emphasise just how wonderful the drinks are. You get a lot of drink for what you buy plus there is just something special about the presentation of the drink and the way it is made that stays in your mind long after you finish the bubble tea. I particularly recommend the fruit teas, with some drinks it comes with fresh fruit in the drink that you can eat after! Always refreshing and sweet
