Lovely little cafe with really friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere, great menu choice and reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again and would highly recommend.

The food is real home cooked comfort food. If you're a traveller going from town to town and in need of a home cooked meal, come here. It is worth it.

We came upon this delightful cafe on a recent visit to Selby, and were more than pleasantly surprised by the great menu and very reasonable prices. Our meals were served by a very cheerful lady , piping hot and very tasty. Next time in Selby we will go there again.

Simple but lovely . Staff are very friendly. Take service is great.

Nice but can be very noisy at times

Excellent food and choice of cakes. We stopped on the way up to the north east coast and were so glad we did. We were greeted and served by a really lovely, friendly waitress. I had a toasted sandwich, which came accompanied by crisp, fresh salad and delicious, homemade coleslaw. I finished my lunch with some tasty lemon cake. The buttercream wasn't too sweet and the cake lemony and light. We would definitely call in again when in the area.

The best hot beef and onion sandwich I've ever had and I guess all other food on the menu will be just as good!!

An absolute delight to find this lovely tea room and our group of four had lunch there. A very friendly welcome, table cloths, great decor and excellent service. We all chose something different to eat, lasagne, meat pie, quiche, scrambled egg on toast, and each meal was delicious. It was a lovely atmosphere and warm inside on a cold day. Thank you for making our visit to Selby extra special.

Pleasant little tearooms on Selby high street, that serves breakfasts and cakes. Reasonably priced and friendly service. I had a hot chocolate and a cheese, tomato and mushroom omelette. The omelette came with a very colourful salad and some coleslaw. Tasty food. Would revisit. Mistake made with the omelette but it was rectified as soon as mentioned and wasn't worth losing a star over.

Very clean & tidy shop/cafe. Non greasy food which tasted great. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Called in for a sandwich and a cuppa. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. Our table was cleaned straight away and we were attended to within seconds. The menu was varied with plenty of options. We had a sausage sandwich, really tasty with 3 decent sized sausages in a lovely fresh bun, and 2 pulled pork, with apple sauce and stuffing, gorgeous, lots of filling, fresh bun and so tasty! A really warm and friendly feel to it, the staff knew the locals by name and went out of their way to chat to them. We’ll be back!

It has been three years since we visited and under new management. The reason to stop is when the prices went up 20% for their VAT. Back then it was around £11.50. Visited after reading new comments and the fact the owner stated the prices were reduced. Scary to think what the prices were under the old management as the price now for our order was £12, for the same items. Staff pleasant and looks very clean. Appears to be less tables.

We have breakfast here one gluten free the other standard. Food is always hot and get enough food and how you want it. The service is excellent and friendly.

called in for a meal on 8th february had pie of the day,which was ok but the service was terrible. 3 times the lady came and asked me if i wanted my cup of tea with my meal (which i did ), when the meal came there was no sign of my tea . my husband had to go and ask where his toasted tea cake was as, i had eaten as much as i could with out fluid.when his tea cake finally arrived so did my tea which i drunk half then went to toilet, when i come back the table had been cleared along with my tea.

We tried this place last year and found it to be very nice and all the produce seemed to be of good quality.we continued to go on a regular basis up until today when we went for our usual large breakfast to find the sausage was nothing more then a very anemic looking thing that can only be described as a pretend sausage.when we came to pay we asked if this was a temporary change only to be told that the warehouse didn’t have the usual ones so she got these,she did however have some of the normal ones upstairs but needed to get rid of these first!now firstly I don’t want my sausages coming from a warehouse especially when there is a family butchers literally over the road!also if you have better ones upstairs why give people this rubbish!i won’t be returning as a decent sausage is the foundation of a good breakfast in my opinion!

Great service & friendly staff/owner Absolutely lovely full English! Not the cheapest in town, £7.50 may sound a bit much but for the quality you get the little bit extra is well worth it! Happy to pay £1-2 more than other places just to get quality bacon & sausage! makes a change to have decent sausages rather than the mushy paste like horrid things you normally get with a breaky, even the bread/toast was proper! Also included tea, coffee or juice! Will definitely be visiting again Thanks

Called in here yesterday for a bite of lunch. Beautiful home made soup served with real bread and butter. Other half had a full breakfast and believe me it was full! Immaculate and clean cafe with staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Selby…..the cakes looked delicious but we didn’t have room left for any 😳

Disappointing. Just wanted a couple coffees, and thought of supporting a local business instead of Costa. A small cup (for a big price), a coffee that had already been ground from a jar, and one of the cups got a coffee that had already been brewed before we came into the coffee shop. Result: a lukewarm and not tasty coffee :( Sad. The cakes looked great and maybe it's a great experience sitting down, but take away isn't something one should do from this shop.

Excellent food, All staff friendly and helpful. My favourite eating place when it is open. When Covid is over Little Miss Muffins is well worth a visit.

The owner / chef unsure which she is but she is so miserable. So rude if she ever answers the phone. 2 young waitresses seem lovely, food is nice, but being polite / kind to customers costs nothing.

When I was speaking on the phone to a friend in Methley (West Yorkshire) I told him that we were meeting up with our Son and his wife from Hull (East Yorkshire) in Selby, (south eastern end of North Yorkshire) for a meal, (We live in Skipton, western edge of North Yorkshire ) he recommended a little cafe in Gowthorpe that served excellent home made food. He could not remember the name but his directions led us to Little Miss Muffins. He was spot on! The four of us had a first rate meal, with cheery service. What more could one ask?

Called in for breakfast on our first time in Selby last Saturday. Nice place and a real family affair with mum in the kitchen, daughter front of house and tall, lovely young niece doing the waitress duties. Had toast and a toasted tea cake ( they didn’t come at the same time!) along with a couple of lattes. All nice and friendly and would certainly visit again when in Selby next.

This was our first visit to the Tea Room. We ordered the home made soup and the apple and black currant crumble. Both dishes where delicious.....home cooking at its best and the price was cheap. The Capachino and tea where also good. Service by Emma, Alex and Irita was first class and to a high standard. We will certainly be returning.

Great Little Tea Room. The cost of the food was so cheap but did not lack quality. We had the homemade soup and apple and BlackBerry crumple. Home made cooking at it's best. The waitresses Emma and Irita where so polite and interacted with their customers. Home cooking by Alex was superb!!!!!! We will be returning.

Having tried a few cafes in Selby this has become our regular go to now great food and service great cakes and takeaway products. 5stars

We only visit Selby occasionally but always have lunch here. We were not aware that it had changed hands but am pleased to say that it is as good as it's always been. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere, pleasant staff and the food is obviously home made and well cooked. Oh, and the cakes are scrummy too!

Fantastic hospitality. Lovely coffee and tasty food. The homemade baked goods are a lovely personal touch as too many cafes tend to opt for the overly sweet Costco cakes these days. Definitely recommend, by far the best cafe in Selby in my opinion.

Discovered this tea room whilst in Selby. What a gem, a warm friendly welcome, excellent food & drinks and overall great valve for money. Anyone visiting Selby should definitely visit.

Top quality breakfast and quick service food was piping hot and a good price excellent place to eat.

Would love to say another brilliant breakfast at this popular cafe in Selby, but after being taken over, I'm afraid we won't be going back. Service very slow, waited 45 mins for our breakfasts, which had gone up in price, and was not impressed. Sorry Little Muffins but your standards will have to improve if you want to keep your customers.

Second time we have visited whilst shopping in Selby. A lovely cosy place with excellent coffee and the best cheese scones I have tasted in years, Friendly staff and great service. We will be back.

Visiting family back in Yorks, we found ourselves in Selby N Yorks looking for a lunch venue.

Shopping in Selby we decided to get some lunch. We dudnt fancy the usual fast food places, so seen a lovely cafe. Cute little place serving tea pots and tea cups. The food was quick and made lovely. Atmosphere was idyllic. Overall would come again.

The staff were really friendly and polite. The atmosphere of the place was so welcoming and friendly. The food that we ordered was so mouth watering and full of flavour. The food was priced just right and I would highly recommend this tea room to anyone in the area.

We had a late morning tea here and the staff were so friendly but so were the customers. I felt very welcomed and enjoyed the food. Lovely cup of Yorkshire tea.

Really nice cafe, never been before so was pleased with what was on offer, prices were reasonable as well. The staff were very helpful and friendly and when the food came it was delicious.

After seeing this tea room on a web site we decided to visit for afternoon tea, we arrived at 2.35pm and the place was empty.... well no surprise there when we were greeted with two members of staff being more interested in their mobile phones than us. We seated ourselves, and then a member of staff asked ‘ you don’t want food do you?’ We replied that we did actually, and was told that we couldn’t have anything as they were closing in half an hour and they had turned everything off, they then suggested the weatherspoons down the road. Shocking service, will definitely not be going again and shocking attitude towards customers!

Went into Selby for a couple of errands and decided to have a full breakfast. Decided on a medium breakfast and was certainly sufficient and tasty. The deco and service was really good and would strongly recommend a visit for breakfast or a selection of home made cakes etc. Reasonably priced as well.

I visited this cafe along with my family we all had home made cakes and lovely drinks. The hot chocolate was the best I have ever had creamy and rich in flavour. The home made cakes were full of flavour, excellent sponge. The staff were so friendly and engaging especially with my young son he loves visiting the cafe and has asked to return soon.cant wait for the next visit.

We love it here and come most weekends for breakfast now. The food is good quality and service is excellent. Would recommend

We stumbled across this little cafe, and decided to pop in for a quick coffee and something to eat. The place was clean, warm and inviting and we found the staff very friendly. We decided to opt for a pot of tea and a cup of coffee and two bacon rolls. I initially thought the price of £3.42 charged per bacon roll was a bit steep, however when they arrived I was very impressed by the quality of the bacon. There were 2 rashers, both were nice and thick and they weren't salty either which makes a changr, and the fat had also been removed which is an added bonus. We will certainly be visiting again when next in the area, as we wouldn't mind trying one of their cooked breakfasts which looked very appetizing indeed!

I have just seen my previous review. I thought it was longer but the last price rise was last year 2018. The price rise was ridiculous, nearly 10% but continued to visit.

Lovely place, very friendly with a great gluten free menu. We were struggling to find gluten free food for a child in our group and stumbled across this gem.

After shopping in Selby I decided to have a Latte and slice of one of the delicious cakes,homemade by Tracey with a scoop of icecream. I am always welcomed with a cheerful smile. Service is quick and friendly. The Latte is hot and tastes great.

The home made lasagne was excellent. The cafe had a nice atmosphere. The pricing was really weird - all of the prices on the menu excluded VAT and there were notices everywhere saying that they now have to charge an extra 20% due to VAT. It was as if VAT is a new thing! I’ve been to loads of cafes and restaurants in the UK and have never come across VAT being added to the quoted prices before.

This was my first visit here and I was most impressed. It is a smart and attractive little tearoom and the welcoming atmosphere is obvious right away.

Still a lovely friendly little cafe. Can't beat getting a nice cup of tea from a teapot. The food's good too.

Visiting this cafe is a really friendly experience. The staff always greet you with a smile. I ordered a Latte and a slice of coffee and walnut cake. It was served to me with a smile and ' Enjoy your meal ' the cake was mouth watering and the Latte just right. As I left the staff all said 'Cheerio see you again'. They will certainly see me again. I recommend Little Miss Muffins to anyone visiting Selby. Merry Christmas to Tracey and the lovely ladies.

We visited Little Miss Muffins yet again & we were impressed, yet again! This is a great eatery that serves up some tasty meals that aren't that pricey. The staff here are always very good and the food is delicious.

This little gem is often overlooked due to a large brewery food chain place nearby. I have to be honest, Whe****oons can learn a thing or two from this little place.

We call every Monday my friend and I for a breakfast good prices and quality snap.

Once again I visited this cafe to everyone a lovely lunch. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with small portion of chips and salad. I was greeted by 2 lovely ladies with a friendly smile. They took my order, then brought me a lovely Latte. The meal was first class; and service very friendly. When I left I was greeted with a nice 'Goodbye '.

Every time my parents come to Selby we visit this place for lunch. My father particularly likes this place as they serve gluten-free foods.

Today I decided to treat myself to a lovely Latte and a piece of their mouth watering Lemon cream topped cake. I can certainly recommend this to everyone spending a day in Selby. It is also nice with a scoop of ice cream. Enjoy a real treat with friendly ladies serving you. 10 out of 10.

My wife and my adult son have been to Selby a few times and not been in the Café until this Monday but will be regular visitors in the future. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was freshly cooked and hot. We had a late Breakfast and could not fault it at all, the bread was nice and thick and white or brown Toast comes with it. My son's meal was a bit behind ours but the proprietor went out of her way to rectify it and one could not wish for better customer service,will be going back

Friendly helpful service in clean and cheerful surroundings

This is not Bettys! This is a lovely, friendly traditional teashop, also serving light lunches. We enjoyed a pot of tea, a plate of freshly-made sandwiches, and scones (with jam and clotted cream). Very friendly and homely!

Visited Selby Abbey and needed a drink and snack before travelling onto Bridlington for the afternoon. A lady at the Abbey recommended this cafe and we were not disappointed. We ordered a pot of Yorkshire tea for 2 and a prawn sandwich and Yorkshire ham and cheese sandwich.The tea was excellent and produced 3 cups each! The sandwiches were exceptional and served by a lovely waitress Katey , with a big smile. My wife said her prawn sandwich, served on very tasty fresh bread was one of the best she had ever eaten. The surroundings were clean, the atmosphere great and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Me and my mum regularly visit little miss muffins cafe.They have the best scones in selby...lovely home made cakes...they really can bake.They do great breakfasts and tuna sandwiches too which is my Daughters favourite.Tracey and her mum,sister and Nat always make you feel welcome.The food is always fresh and the scones are Amazing..with a massive pot of tea too.prices are so reasonable...if you haven't tried it..get yourself in...you won't be disappointed.

Delightful host knew her clientele well in the main and was helpful in assisting us. The food was well presented, healthy, price conscious and family orientated. Clean and roomy enough area. Easy access and on the High street.

I popped into Little Miss Muffins today with my parents as we fancied a spot of lunch. The food was very good, and the portions were very generous. The staff were friendly & the dining area was very clean. Pop in if you have the chance, you won't regret it.
