This is an excellent small cafe. Not only is the coffee great the desserts are to die for. We were staying with friends in Mevagissey and they introduced us to this gem. Our friend ordered a birthday cake for us and it was delicious. We also sampled the desserts in the cafe which were fresh and tasty. Everything is hand made and delicious. I highly recommend this cafe if you happen to be in this beautiful part of England.

I would have walked past this little cafe if I hadn’t read about it on Tripadvisor. I had the cream tea which was lovely and the rest of the homemade cakes looked great as well. Sat outside in the sun on the little stools which make the best use of the limited space. Service was good and very friendly.

Ordered scones large chunky and crunchy For Wednesday morning, Got there a bit early as they were getting them out of the oven. Put them in cake boxes for careful transportation for me. We love it here SO much. The cakes are incredible and it’s all so reasonably priced for what you get. Staff are always friendly and you feel welcomed. It’s a shame there’s only a couple of places to sit indoors but we often just eat our cake in the car. My only critique is the coffee is not to our taste and we are a coffee family but that’s a preference thing. Keep doing what you’re doing :) x

What a really friendly welcoming little cafe! The owner and her staff couldn’t do enough for you. It might be tiny but the service and food were as good - if not better than some of the bigger places in this tiny area. As with previous reviews, I agree wholeheartedly that the takeaway scones were huge and the jam and cream to go with them were very generous. There was a good choice of other cakes and biscuits as well. On another visit, we had a sandwich lunch and again, the portions were generous, produce fresh and it was cooked and served with such a pleasant friendly manner that you really didn’t want to leave. Both my Husband and I highly recommend. The lady owner explained she is 5th generation Cornish and her wonderful welcome proves that undoubtedly! (And her scones….)

The special place to go for delicious cakes and snacks with wonderful teas and coffee is the Little Bay. Annette the owner and her staff will give you a welcome second to none. Most of the food is home cooked by the owner including some tasty doggie treats for your 4 legged friends who are very welcome. A more homely place is very hard to find and when Annette knows you better she'll treat you to some light hearted banter. Unfortunately the Pentewen beach is privately owned and a dog ban is in force from 1st March for the holiday season. So the Little Bay will lose some of their loyal dog walking customers so will now need holiday makers etc to enjoy the comfort of the best cafe for miles and miles. Highly recommend.

My friend & I stumbled across little bay cafe at the beginning of last winter & we have been back at least once a week ever since! It suits us perfectly as we both have a dog & the dogs that visit this fabulous little cafe are made as welcome as the humans. ( dog biscuits are provided free of charge, or they also make homemade dog treats that only cost £1 & doggie ice cream is available for the warmer months) It’s a lovely walk through the kingswoods & we don’t feel guilty about having a delicious slice of cake as we then walk back to the car. The cakes are always varied & totally yummy! We have never been disappointed! We love this place & the staff are very friendly & always take the time to chat ( no matter how busy they are) It is like a home from home with such a warm welcome, despite muddy boots & wet dogs! It is a treat we both look forward to with anticipation, to see what new cakes have been made!I cannot write a review without a mention of the coffee, it’s as good as, if not better than any of the big chain coffee shops! I would recommend anyone visiting or in the area of Pentewan to give it a try... I promise you will not be disappointed... & if your local you may find yourself visiting more often than you think.

'Little' is an important word - there are probably 20-odd seats and a short counter, everything was cooked fresh (and really well... but definitely not in 5 minutes), and it isn't a fast-food place. I'd guess that in high summer it might be hard to get fed quickly, if at all. But in September it was great. It's a lovely spot in the 'quaint village' half of Pentwean rather than the holiday park. The brie & bacon panini was way above average - excellent and beautifully cooked bacon in a huge portion, real bread, and a good veg-crisp accompaniment. Full marks.

A tiny cafe in a quintessential Cornish village. A perfect stop after a beach or river walk, with or without dogs. Delicious, genuinely home made fruit scone (baked before the start of business daily) flavoured with just the right amout of cinnamon, warm, with a huge dollop of thick Cornish cream and Megagissey strawberry jam. Based on other reviews we decided to pop in for a quick lunch. We were not disappointed. The best value tea, a great BBC panini, a fantastic bacon and egg bap with brilliant bacon and the best fruit scone I've ever had that needed a step ladder to reach the top. The family that runs the tiny little place are all so cheerful and upbeat we felt like old friends.

A surprising small cafe in this little village. Great cream tea and very generous bacon and egg roll. Delicious scone too.

Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday, what a fantastic find!! Funky and quirky vegan cafe. Loved the layout and decor. Best chai latte ever. Absolutely gorgeous tofu tacos, and the squash salad was sooo tasty. It’s dog friendly too!! Young lady was on her own front of house, and the cafe was full, she was run off her feet, but she was brilliant - well done!! Now top of our list for lunching in Mousehole!

Delicious coffee in a beautiful location. Dogs very welcome! With an on-site natural pet shop and a large car park.

I have been here four times now, its become a thing whenever we come to Newquay, tattoo before I go home. The staff are incredibly friendly and always chatting away when you're there. They make you feel like part of the family. It's clean, tidy, always smells so good woth the cakes and coffee, I always feel like I'm home when I go in.

Very good B&B in a very central location. But it is very expensive so 'value for money' comes into question. Very good cooked breakfast served in the mornings but for the money it should provide freshly squeezed orange juice.

We found our way to Freathy Farmhouse Cafe by following a sign from Whitsand Bay. What a lovely find! Very rustic and charming cafe. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed very generous sandwiches served with delicious salad. Some of us even managed cake! We will definitely return although I understand it is best to check opening times. Ps Loved the decor in the loo!
