Little Asia Korean Restaurant in York

A friendly restaurant serving delicious Korean food in a cosy and welcoming environment. The menu is quite brief, which I'm sure Gordon Ramsey would approve of, but there is enough choice. The dishes we had were comforting and spicy, we needed some water with our soju! The waiter couldn't have been more charming and welcoming, which always makes a big difference. I wouldn't come on a romantic date, (maybe when they introduce tea lights) but when I want that authentic Korean goodness!

Great to find them still serving up great authentic tasting Korean food at their new location. Downstairs is quite small and intimate. Toilets are upstairs. Was pleased to walk-in and chance availability. Tried a few things to share amongst us and still happy with taste, quality and value. The table next to us had the most vile customer … insisting his meal be replaced with something else because ‘I just don’t like it’… the staff handled the situation well, remaining calm and professional. Utmost respect 🫡 5*

A small place with few dishes bursting with flavour. We had a mix bowl of beef and pork and it comes piping hot, so you got to wait a while to eat it. Delicious and flavourful dishes. We will be back to try the chicken fried legs as it looked delicious too.

Do not pass this little place by because if you do you will miss a gem, we had the tastiest food and left with a warm feeling inside, highly recommended, nothing is too much trouble, I will be returning 😊

Great little restaurant!! It seemed quite a limited menu but what we had was so tasty.. spicy but not overpowering. We had the kimchi dumplings, fried seaweed for starters and beef and port bulgogi - with the chilli mayo sauce - for main and finished off sharing a sweet pancake with sweet red bean ice cream. All excellent. And just to add the music really sealed the deal.. great atmosphere.

The first thing I noticed when going in was how small the restaurant is - there's just a handful of tables in an intimate space. Thankfully, as it was relatively early in the evening I got a table straight away without any need to wait. The décor was pleasant - relatively low key, but sufficient to add ambience without being overbearing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming which meant I felt comfortable immediately, despite not having been there before. As for the food - delicious! I had the bibimbap which was a pretty substantial portion containing plenty of fresh-tasting vegetables. The wine list was quite small but featured a perfectly decent Pinot Grigio which went down nicely. The prices are very reasonable too and I was full enough after only one course, so it is definitely worth checking out if you like Korean food.

Korean fried chicken tastes awesome, great portion size and filling… you definitely need to disposable gloves to eat it as you’ll want to eat all the sauce covered chicken pieces…. Little on the sweet side but delicious… normal portion is £8.90 which has four or five pieces of chicken, a large portion is £14.50 but I’ve never ordered it as normal size is enough, go with the honey soy flavour….kimchi jiggae which is a stew is enough for one person and has an amazing authentic kimchi broth…the menu isn’t huge nor is this restaurant, so best book in advance or be prepared to queue.. little word of advice, they close for a break between 4 til 5 daily… also they have no card machine but do accept bank transfer or hard currency, not won but pound sterling…. Amazing hidden gem, you’ll find them son walmgate in York… be sure to visit…. Kam-samida

First time coming and trying Korean food before - loved it and would come back for sure! It was cash only though, luckily we read this online before so knew!

The food was delicious and came out quickly. The staff were also really lovely. We were early and they even allowed us to sit down as soon as we got there, overall great experience!

Restaurant lacks ambiance and food is very average. this was the first time I had a bibimbap that did not have an egg on it. I'd ordered the version with avocado but the avocado was not ripe so had to ask them to replace that with kimchi. It was very average - essentially a bowl of rice with a few veggies and some hot sauce. I also did not like that they served the mains while we had only just received our starters and the metal chopsticks are not great to use

We had the Kimchi Army Stew, large sweet/spicy fried chicken and pork udon noodles. All were amazing!! Good size portions, we shared these dishes with an extra rice portion between 4 people for lunch and it was perfect. Definitely recommend 10/10

Very nice. Tucked away and small, me and my partner ended up walking into this quaint restaurant on our trip to York. They only take cash but this isn’t a problem as you’re in the middle of a city and there are cash points fairly close. The waitress serving us did very well and was very efficient as much as she struggled with English a little, and catered to all our needs. The menu was slightly limited but the quality of the food we ordered was outstanding. Serving our food didn’t take long at all, and we enjoyed every bite of it. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and carrying cash, very good food for a reasonable price!

We've ordered from Little Asia several times and each and every time it is amazing! I think little Asia do the best Korean chicken in york and would definitely recommend it! We often order both the honey and the spicy chicken, both are delicious! Would recommend the honey soy dip and the onion mayo, both amazing! We really enjoyed the pork mandu, really tasty dumplings. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Just need to remember it is cash only!

We booked in advance and when we showed up it was busy. We were seated right away and had our food within 30 mins. Amazing atmosphere and the food is top tier. Deffo worth a visit!

Fantastic food! The Bulgogi was lovely but the real winner was the incredible fried chicken which was just incredible! Really recommend it here!

Went to little asia in the evening, its very comfortable and relaxed throughout with great traditional koreon dishes, definitly recommend going. Staff are very accomodating helping understand the menu, quick service at a reasonable price.

We have been using their collection service during lockdown and the quality hasn't skipped a beat. We love their bibimbap, the spicing is strong but full of flavour, the meat is tender and delicious. Can't wait to go and have a sit down meal!
