Another year, another Christmas Party. This time I stayed over. Comfortable, clean & lovely view of the Christmas Lights on the Main Street outside. Staff very relaxed welcoming, friendly & just want to make sure customers have the best time! Thank you.

Had a fabulous Christmas meal today. The food was excellent. Just like to say a big thankyou to Cindy and her team for making it special for us. The room and the table settings were lovely. All the gym ladies enjoyed it too. Pauline and Kristi.

Stayed at Lion hotel two times now and will say it's a lovely hotel, the food is lovely and staff very friendly and as for the rooms very clean and tidy and spacious. I had a very good night's sleep 😴 Keep up the great work Lion hotel and I'll be back again soon..👍👍👍👍👍

We booked in here on Saturday 12th October and from the moment we walked in the Hotel receptionist was friendly,helpful and a lovely welcoming smile.The room was very spacious and clean and the bathroom was massive with a bath too which was a lovely addition.There was also a strange triangle walk in cupboard with nothing in it,we were almost afraid to walk in it in case we were transformed to Narnia,it was almost quite magical.... The bed was super comfy and although we did have a slight problem with the tv,this was sorted super quick. The staff were really friendly and polite and although i did'nt eat in the resturant in the evening my partner did and although 2 of the starters was not available( it was nearly 9.00 and the kitchen was closing),the staff it their upmost to provide him with a alternative which he assures me was delicious. I don't sleep too well and kept bobbing down for a cigarette,which i could have in the court yard.One slight suggestion that maybe you put a small light over the ashtray on the wall as i did'nt know it was there till it started getting light. The young man on duty was helpful even fetching me 3 different size jugs for me to have extra milk in,nothing was too much trouble for him and again so friendly and polite,he definition deserve some recognition for the professional way he does his job. Breakfast was a very quick service and the egg Benedict was to die for.My partner had the 3 egg omelette which was massive and very very tasty. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend a stay here,the staff are definitely are credit to the hotel,we will definitely staying again.Thank you for a wonderful experience.

There are many hotels and restaurants in Worksop, but this is the best I’ve found. All the staff, from check-in to the bar, are helpful and do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. They make sure you get a room that suits your needs, and Dan, the chef, is one of the rare chefs who can cook a rare steak perfectly without overcooking it. I highly recommend that you, dear reader, try one.

Absolutely loved the place! We only stayed one night but would definitely go back for a longer stay. The room and bathroom was spotless, the shower was great! It was a hot night but the air con kept room cool. Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful. We're not local and finding our way to the car park was a little difficult.

Rooms are really nice, comfy beds.

Very rude front of house staff. No help whatsoever when entering just basically showed away. Very poor customer service would highly recommend avoiding at all costs.

Probably the best town centre hotel option in Worksop. Rooms are OK, but dated. Bar and restaurant area is OK and spacious, but drinks selection is dire...even no Scotch Whisky available at bar...which is weird. Good parking, although not sure how secure. Breakfast was good.

Traveling for work lovely hotel friendly staff and nice room and dining room.

The room was beautiful and clean. We only had lunch, which we enjoyed. Will stay again.

We Stop at the Lion Hotel 3-4 times when visiting family and absolutely love the hotel and the fabulous staff who are just lovely. The suite we stop in is superb and always immaculately clean and the food is always amazing. Can't fault this hotel !!

A quick stop for a long distance driver, excellent for me

Very happy to have stayed here, room was very nice. The receptionist was friendly and chatty! The steak dinner I had was very tasty and of a high quality. I've I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular!

We booked The Lion Hotel for my fiancé birthday. We have stayed here a few times and always enjoyed it on previous visits. (although the food is poor standard) On arriving we waited almost 10 minutes for someone to come to reception (after ringing the bell) . A young waitress came and said “ I’m sorry this isn’t my job. I will try my best, “ she gave me a form to sign and put in my vehicle details . I filled in the form and returned it to her. A few minutes later a woman came out the back, looking like she had just woken up. She said it’s £100 and £25 in case you want breakfast. After eating here previously, we certainly didn’t want the breakfast. I explained we wouldn’t be wanting breakfast or anything else, just the room we booked. She told us it’s Policy , so would have to pay . We were then told the room we booked is unavailable and they had put us in a different room. At this point , I requested to speak to the manager. She told me “ I am the manager , we of check inn area” I asked if there was a duty manager. Soon after the waitress had requested the duty manager to come, he came and I explained what I had been told. Very abruptly he told me . That’s policy , it is what it is. At this point I said we won’t be staying. I was not prepared to pay for something I knew I didn’t want. I booked a certain room as the room meant something to us. The hotel lost £100 , we went to Premier Inn Worksop and we had a lovely evening, smooth polite check in, £30 less for the room .I recommend this modern hotel . It’s hard to believe The Lion Hotel are 4 star. I think it’s ready for an up to date rating review.

Had a meal here, service was good food was good, good selection of drinks as well, got talking to a guest and they said the rooms are nice.

So for the first time in my life Christmas dinner wasn't at home with the family & the conundrum of where to eat on the day was a good one....Someone suggested the Lion Hotel & so I made a phone call, from there the process was silky smooth, friendly & professional. I was asked for an email address so the menu could be sent out for my party to choose their courses & paid the deposit. In the fullness of time I paid the remaining balance & waited for the big day. We weren't disappointed, the day was extremely well organised, the delicious food was delivered on time & piping hot. The staff were very friendly & efficient - We were one person light because of illness & the staff 'plated up' the meal for us to take away. What more can you ask for ? The whole day was a welcome change to the usual mayhem & stress. I can't praise the Hotel & staff enough - many thanks for a very enjoyable day & I reckon we'll be returning this year.
