We used to frequent Lyndsey’s a lot when it was in Barnstaple and popped over to Bideford today and couldn’t resist a visit. Cakes and pastries were as delicious as they always were- maybe even better and we were served some really good coffee as well. Brilliant service teamed with excellent value for money means I will try and make the effort to get to Bideford more regularly from now on.

Hadn’t been in here for a while so popped in whilst waiting for a shop to open following lunch. We had Cappuccinos whilst my daughter had a hot sausage roll with hers. Sadly, the coffee taste burnt which we both left. The sausage roll wasn’t well flavoured, just bland. We took it home 4 the doggies. Really disappointed & an expensive wait 4 the shop 2 open!

A wonderful selection of delicious treats. The cheesecakes especially are definitely worth trying with a great variety. We popped in for coffee whilst on holiday and were so impressed we went back 2 days later to try different cakes. Everything was very reasonably priced and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Fabulous first time visit to Lindsey's and will certainly return! The heavens opened during our day out in lovely Bideford and we decided to seek out a nice coffee pit stop. We discovered Lindsey's and even though there were no seats, staff encouraged us to wait for short while till a table became available. Paul and daughter ordered meat pastie/sausage roll with cherry cheesecake. I ordered vegetarian pastie and raspberry cheesecake. Portion sizes were very generous and cheesecakes were awesome! With drinks, our order came to just over £24 which I consider fair for a tourist town like Bideford. Toilet was spacious, clean and well stocked which was very pleasing. Staff very friendly and helpful when I asked about local knowledge. Lindsey's was very fresh and clean and just the right temperature for us. My only tiny quibble is that I'd like to have the option of skimmed milk for my tea but this isn't worth giving it anything less than a 5 star review. We will certainly return on future visits to lovely Bideford.

We were looking for somewhere for something delicious for our lunch & Lindsey’s was perfect! We both had pasties plus a slice of scrumptious Peanut Butter & Chocolate Slice & a generous portion of the Tiramisu Gateau. The selection of cakes was really tempting & the friendly greeting & service by the ladies serving really stood out from the usual chain coffee shops. It was a pleasure to support this independent business!

We popped in just as they were closing, so only able to pick up take away cakes. But my goodness they were gorgeous. I had the white chocolate and raspberry roulade. Light, sweet with lumps of white chocolate and raspberry - delicious. My husband had a blueberry muffin. Now normally he only eats half of everything but he went back for the second half! Sad we don't live closer (here on holiday) but would highly recommend.

We were recommended to this place as the best for pasties. Managed to fit our 7 into the corner. Pasties were excellent - I had traditional short crust which was amazing heated up. We couldn’t resist the amazing cake selection - wife had the amazing looking mango cheese cake. I went for a fabulous caramel short bread. Apparently the wife says we are going again - there are 4 other cakes she wants to try !!!

We were looking for somewhere for a cream tea and stumbled upon Linsey's shop whilst walking down the main drag on Bideford's High Street. Well, all I can say is, what a lucky stumbled! A lovely little shop/cafe with a truly gorgeous array of cakes and savories. My wife and son shared a cream tea and I choose the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. Nothing was too much trouble and the shop and toilets were emmaculate. We couldn't believe the value, either! £4.50 for the cream tea (you get 2 scones, butter, 2 pots of very good quality local jam and a WHOLE tub of clotted cream (tea was extra) and my cheesecake was only £2.45. We also picked up 2 very tasty large sausage rolls to go for £1.40 each. It is a little bit hidden away but well worth seeking out. Can't recommend enough. Thank you 😊

I visited Lindseys today for coffee and cake and there was a table available, no further than 1 meter from the front door. I was nearly sat down when I was abruptly told that I had to wear a facemask. When I explained that I was eating in, I was told it doesn't matter I should be wearing one whenever not sat down. I then needed to cover my face again to look in the cake cabinet and to pay at the till. Whilst I completely understand and adhere to the face covering rules, I found this to be very patronising and pernickety. I would love to report that the carrot cake was fantastic as it always has been in the past but it was in fact rubbery with some sort of squirty cream, not cream cheese frosting as expected.

Popped in here whilst waiting for my dog to be groomed. Had tried most of the other tea shops in Bideford which, in my opinion didn't rate a second visit. Lynsey's was lovely & bright inside with a couple of tables to the front, side & to the rear with pretty coverings. The counter area had lots of beautiful cakes on display & a menu offering freshly made sandwiches, paninis , toasted tea cakes & homemade cream teas. The lady serving was very pleasant & the young lady who brought my order to my table was lovely too. Everything seemed reasonably priced, including my small latte which was delicious & pecan/lemon french pastry.

This little gem is tucked away in Mill Street - go up Bideford High Street, take the first right and its tucked in just past the Co-Op supermarket. There are some tables for eat-in, but I use it for buying cakes for special treats [and for birthday cakes and dinner parties] The Baileys Cheesecake is simply wonderful - but there are plenty of others to choose from, and also superb butterfly cakes, muffins, scones and small desserts. The large [whole] cheesecakes can be made to order and are extremely good value they make wonderful desserts for special dinner parties - [you could always pretend you had done them yourself, but I doubt you would be believed!!!] They also have a franchise for Blackwells pasties - the best in the west - try one!

Oh my life, the cheesecakes here were fantastic! A massive selection and probably a zillion calories a go but really nice and very reasonably priced. The place definitely lacked character though. We thought it would be quaint and homely, but actually the interior was very modern and a bit dirty. The staff weren't overly friendly but the cakes made up for it. The toilet stank of sick which was a real low-point but if it's cakes you're after, there's a very good selection on offer here!!

The cakes looked and tasted fantastic there were 4 of us [and I had 2 cakes!!]Lovely coffees and pots of tea too all excellent value. I now see they have won awards as well.PS We went back a second day too between 3 and 4 pm.OH DEAR what a difference. The lovely young lady was gone and there were 3 guys behind the counter. The attitude was awful. There were no hot sausage rolls left so we asked if they could warm a cold one. No chance. The tea and coffee was unceremoniously banged down in front of us. We did not bother with cakes then, and nearly walked out. The couple behind us 4 got the same and DID walk out. What a shame.I hope it sorts itself out as it is award winning. Not certain what the problem was or why. They did close at 4.30 pm but hey business is business surely and we were out before then. The rating is for our first visit!!

WOW, we had the most amazing Sunday lunch. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball, peas, carrots, French beans, roast parsnips, cabbage, cauliflower cheese & not forgetting the amazing crispy roast potatoes and lashings of thick gravy. The meat, Yorkshire pudding & stuffing came on the plate, followed by a dish of 8 roasters and another dish with the 6 vegetables in & a big jug of gravy. I dont think anyone would be able to eat everything. The servings are huge. Everything is freshly cooked, served piping hot, it was just amazing. We ate as much as we could, but there was easily enough for another 3 or 4 servings. The landlord suggested taking it home with us, but we didn't. After a rest, we ordered apple crumble & custard. Again, the portion was huge. We could have shared 1, and it would have been enough. It's a shame we don't live here because we would be regulars.
