Food was ok but it took a while to be seen to. Was sitting in room near kitchen which wasn't ideal as it was very busy with staff traveling backwards and forwards with orders, we also heard occasional moaning and swearing coming from the Kitchen area. Not a very relaxing experience. Might be worth going when its not so busy, there just didn't seem to be enough staff for such a big building, The young girl did well to keep a smile on her face.

Good service and food, unfortunately spoiled by a total lack of heating. Windy , raining and very cold outside and very cold inside. Was actually shivering. Radiators were there but no heating was on. Such a pity as it was a totally unwelcoming atmosphere.

Wow!! A gem nestled in a sleepy little countryside village. Just droppd in for coffee and cake... The coffee was easy and the cakes!!... well put it this way..I hade a generous slice of orange cake with Lemmon merangue topping...and because there was so much choice I brought 3 ddoggie bacgs back with me... The sausae roll was tasty and I noticed a hint of sage... nice touch.... have yet to eat the others. They do a rhubarb and orange cheese scone which by my firends account was nice.... There will be a next time as I want to try the cakes and the lite ,meals... 10/10 for ambience and GREAT food....

Three of us went to Lincoln’s for lunch. Service was excellent. However two of the three meals ordered were not up to the standard expected. The beef in the steak pie was tough and required a lot of chewing. The Mushroom Stroganoff was tasteless without any distinguishable seasoning. However, the Jacket Potato served with beans, cheese on the side (as requested) and salad was perfect. When the waitress came to collect our plates, two of my friends complained about their meals which was acknowledged and she said the comments would be passed on. However, on making payment, (we paid separately), a full charge was made and no offer of discount was mentioned regarding the poor quality of the meat in the pie. My friend asked about a discount as payment was taken and so she called a colleague who came out and told my friend that six other covers had been served that day and not one had complained. We were all very surprised at her comment and so she returned a couple of pounds to my friend. We then complained about her attitude and said at the very least she could have apologised for the poor quality and offered a discount of say 20%. When my other friend mentioned her Stroganoff was not what she expected, she was told “that’s our take on Mushroom Stroganoff”. She then got quite irate and returned the full amount that my friend had paid. Wished us Merry Christmas and walked away. Shocked and dismayed at her comments, we certainly won’t be returning to Lincoln’s.

Went for Sunday lunch..the beef was as tough as old boots! Told the young waitrose quietly..she just said "oh right" nothing else. The pudding was very good but the roast let the meal down. When we went to pay there was no apology and no offer of a slight discount..DO NOT go for the beef!

Plus points: very good service and plenty of cheese in the cheesy chips. Not so good: mould on the window by our table, the coffee was bitter, the Coke was flat, no granary baguettes and the rest of the food was average They did refund the coffee but we didn't feel comfortable complaining about the other points. The quality and value here used to be very good but over the last few years it has become somewhat average. I'm not sure what has caused this but it's such a shame.

I have no idea where the previous reviewer went to have the experience they had, but I doubt it was Lincolns Coffee Shoppe and Bistro.Lincolns is a family run business with only the customers first class eating experience at heart. You are always welcomed with a smile, shown to your table in normal circumstances, the food arrives piping hot and very pleasing to the eye. If you have special dietary requirements the chef will alway do his best to make sure your eating experience equates to that of the other diners. During the COVID 19 situation they have provided an excellent take away service with full social distancing observed, hand sanitiser and tempting cakes to make Lockdown tolerable. Extra measures have now been put in place to secure both the customers safety and theirs. They provide an excellent Sunday lunch menu, picnics and afternoon teas all to take away and enjoy at your leisure, as well as the usual day to day menu. As for the comment that the staff were rude: I have been a customer of Lincolns for a long time, as have many devotees and never witnessed or experience rudeness. I would go as far as to say that the front of house staff wouldn't know how to be rude. That is of course unless the customer was so unpleasant to them or spoiling other diners experience, they would have a right to reply.

We were also delighted to see they have a good selection of gluten free cakes, a lunch/light snack menu, which was of good value. We held a wake for my Mother’s funeral at the tea rooms on Thursday 25th July. It was truly perfect. Just what my mum would have loved. The food was absolutely delicious and all freshly made. Jo and her husband were so helpful and accommodating right from the word go, catering for any of our guests with allergen requirements including a coeliac. They adjusted their standard menu to suit our needs. They had an alcohol licence which was ideal for our needs as well. They rearranged the tea room to accommodate our guests and even put chairs and tables outside for us. It was a very sad occasion for my family but they did us proud and with the excellent food, quality of service, and wonderful friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, I truly cannot sing their praises enough. This is the second time I’ve visited Lincoln’s. The first visit Was in the summer and I had a gooseberry and elderflower scone which was one of the best scones I’ve eaten. Second visit I wanted to try a main meal and dessert so went for Pork with Apple and Madeira sauce followed by rhubarb and orange roulade. I was not disappointed. It was so nice to have a varied selection of veg along side the tender pork steak and crispy sautéed potatoes. The roulade was to die for, soft marshmallow meringue with burnt sugar topping and a tart coulis. I couldn’t resist a coffee and date scone so took one away. This too was delicious. The lady who served us was friendly and very helpful even told me how she had made her scones. I will definitely be back.

Small cafe/restaurant. Lovely situation .Have visited twice. Once just for a mid morning coffee and then for Sunday Lunch. The first visit for coffee - it was very busy and we sat close to the till - a little cramped. The coffee was average and not as hot as we like. The teacake was standard and adequate. The restaurant was very busy again on the Sunday lunch visit .and again felt a little hemmed in. Service was friendly and efficient . The beef roast was good and the vegetables served on seperate dishes were varied and cooked correctly. The rest of our group had the chicken roast which again was okay but not brilliant. There were a range of desserts and they were very good. A pleasant meal but not memorable.

My husband and I were out working and were desperately hungry - we came upon this pretty village and discovered Lincoln's Tea and Coffee Shoppe. Although very tiny inside we were able to get a table for two and no sooner had we sat down than we were asked for our order. The owners do special meals of the day and also a full menu if you just want sandwiches etc. It was Halloween time and the cafe was decorated very tastefully. The tea shop is in an excellent location with parking outside, however, the food was really disappointing. I have thought carefully about this review before posting. I did discuss the food with the staff as it was so bad. Jacket potato with egg mayonnaise was just a mush of unappetising runny egg mixture covering a jacket potato, which was running into the salad leaves. The plate was a small oval one with too much food crammed on it to appealing. The "chicken roast" of the day with veg was equally unappetising with very overcooked veg and reheated roast potatoes. The gravy was awful. Many people were having large rolls with chips and salad leaves, with lots of chips and bread left on the plate. In conclusion, I would suggest this may be a good spot for a tea or soft drink, however, some improvement is needed with the food preparation and presentation.

Delicious crisp meringues lovely eclairs and a very good victoria sandwich. Washed down with a bottle of cava and of course tea. So much food we had to have two doggy bags.Excellent service as always. At £12 a head you cannot fail to be impressed. Have paid a lot more for food of this quality in a lot of places,in fact I've paid a lot more for food not up to this standard. Have also been here for breakfast and the full English is extremely good, proper sausages! Hate cheap sausages. Would have given 5 stars if wasn't for the fact that I always find it a little bit on the cool side in there , but that might just be me. Cannot understand how anyone could say this place is expensive, perhaps they would be better going to a catering van in a layby somewhere. Old fashioned (not necessarily a negative) but a bit boring as well, staff very 'bland' on the day I visited. Optimistic prices due to the fact that it's in a conservation village, would be my guess. Coffee price looks good until you see the size of the cup, at which point it becomes deliberately mean and also disappointing. Could be lovely but appears lethargic, which is a shame. We , a work colleague (and friend), celebrate surviving another week at work by visiting Lincoln's. You will find a range of tea and coffee as to be expected from a village café but we have always found the quality beyond the average. Not many tea rooms in my experience serve an absolutely perfect smoked salmon and poached egg salad followed by a fresh lime cheesecake. We go for a quick take out lunch with a mug of coffee but there are more substantial meals if you need something more sustaining. Hingham is a working and unspoilt little town very much rural England at it's best. A visit will always be made more enjoyable with coffee and cake, if that is what you are in need of you can rely on the team at Lincoln's to hit the spot

We ate lunch here on Sept 19th. Food, location and service were all great. It is located just off Fairgreen and across the main road from the church. It is called the Lincoln Tea Shoppe as Lincoln's ancestors came from Hingham centuries ago. The atmosphere was that of a true English tearoom - cosy and pleasant. Decor was light and airy. Great find. We'll eat there again.

I called in whilst on a long bike ride. Service was good, coffee cake good, prices very reasonable and they happily topped up my water bottle too. What more could I want?

Lovely little cafe, nice service, varied selection and great cup cakes! I had a toasted sandwich which was lovely with plenty of salad trimming and the cup cake was delicious with a lovely pot of tea.

Having said I wouldnt go back, I was passing we did... Has improved from a poor to a very good( I would say good but its not an option). This is because I had lunch which was... Very good, home cooked butchers ham, beautifully cooked eggs and lovely crispy non fatty chips... The salmonand cream cheese sandwiches had plenty of filling and served with generous and appetising garnish. The tea was good but the coffee not quite so good.We asked for extra water and got itwithout protest( it would be nice if tea shops and cafes would just offer this as a matter of course). The service was very friendly and helpful and I would go back after my previous not so good experience but I still wouldnt risk the scones!!

This village is where Abraham Lincoln's family orginated from before going to immigrating to the new country.A small place to have a snack or main meal but very cosy. All the food is excellent but the steak and kidney puddings are out of this world very tasty full of meat and kidneys plus the lovely brown thick gravy. Boy what a feast with mash potatoes.A very well worth visit, best to telephone to make sure there are steam puddings available.

Booked for valentines meal. Due to my husband's job I had to change the time , then cancel then we were able to go so book again. Nothing was a problem to the staff, when I cancelled the lady on phone asked if I would like them to make me something to collect and have at home so I wouldn't go without dinner, which I thought was so thoughtful. When we did get there the service was brilliant and the food was lovely, It just shows you don't have to go far for excellent food and service. Will return.

I was only here for an hour, for a coffee and cake with a work colleague and while the place looks welcoming enough on arrival, the cake was stale. The chocolate cake I ordered arrived warm, which means they might have microwaved it to hide the staleness, but it really wasn't good. I had a decent enough decaf filter coffee but for the price I would have liked more than one small cup. A cafetiere is normal for a coffee shop. I'll be hesitant to return. The waitress at no stage checked up on us either.

This is a small and unpretentious cafe/restaurant in the pleasant village of Hingham. We had stopped there for coffee recently and noticed that they do Sunday lunch so went back today. The 2 course traditional roast is excellent value, the portions are generous and the food well cooked and presented. They are closing next week, 2 to 9 September for redecoration so clearly keeping the place up to scratch. Couldn't fault it and will definitely be going back.

I have here several times for lunch and its always been OK bordering on good, but I will not return.I had a cream tea which consisted of one scone, jam, butter and cream and a small pot of tea... Which cost well over £4. But the scone was inedible, it was rock solid and dry as a desert.iI took it back and was served by a very polite waitress who ask apologised and asked if I wanted anything else.I said I would like a freshly baked one and she said that they were fresh that morning..Who are they trying to kid? Either it was untrue or they need to have a masterclass in scone making! I did not pay for the scone and I wont go back

A colleague and I dropped in for lunch and were delighted with the standard of service, the quality of the food and it was reasonably priced too.We arrived quite early but unsurprisingly by the time we left there was not a free table inside or out.It is definitely on my map for future occasions when passing through.Well done.

The food the staff.. Everything perfect.. A special thanks to Willow the waitress.. I'm 72 and never seen anyone as fast working. Efficient and service with a smile. We were amazed.. Not saying this because we might know her which is not the case.. It's because we stay in Wyndham once a week from great Yarmouth and always praise people and establishments when they deserve it.. Thank you ALL at the White Heart.. Will definitely be back regularly and recommend 100 %.

Had lunch here, staff were helpful and pleasant, the food was okay but not exceptional. The setting is quiet with a slight nod to the 1940's. Not sure about the green neon light in the alcove but it was an adequate lunch.

I try to stay here when visiting Diss. This is a pleasant country Inn with rooms above . Nearby are nice restaurants, bars and shops. Most striking is the dark and silence, a special place

It's a lovely little pub in the middle of the village and at the end of Rockland broad where there are around 8 free morning's, it's great for a overnight stay, so back to the pub great people who make you feel welcome and a nice little area for outside seating on those summer evenings, so yes I'll be going back
