I have been here for afternoon tea on more than one occasion and loved the experience, food and the countryside location so close to the city.

Great location, wonderful food.

We stayed in the hotel so had breakfast and dinner included. The food selection was excellent and quality good. The highlight of the weekend was the customer service in the restaurant, particularly by Ryan and Lily. Ryan had such a way with customers. He clearly has an extremely successful future in hospitality ahead of him.

What a wonderful stay. Everyone was so friendly and we had a little trouble locating everything but your wonderful manager Katy showed us where everything was, and really looked after us during our stay. The restaurant was beautiful, the beef one of the best I’ve had! We will be returning!

Fabulous service good food. Expensive but worth it. Good value as part of overnight stay on secret escapes. Beware service charge added to everything and large wine almost £14.

We came for afternoon tea the lady who was waiting on us was also behind the bar … she was called Lilly . She was grumpy …. Unhelpful and not very accommodating. We received our hot drinks only because we asked again for them …. (The food was lovely)…. On finishing our food we decided to head outside for a while … we came back in and waited by the bar to pay … the same lady took our money … didn’t ask if we enjoyed ourselves … would we come back nothing … on walking to the exit another member of staff stopped us … while she was holding someone else’s dinner and said have you paid … do you have a bill to pay?? I said excuse me but do we look like we would walk out and not pay?? That is not somthing we would do… but we obviously looked like we were not good enough in her eyes to even be in the place … she was an older member of staff and I wish I had got her name …. She came across very single minded and classish… you should never judge a book by its cover …. I may not dress to her standard but I come from a very respected family and my dad has an OBE… I never would of considered your hotel to have this outlook on people and I don’t condone the fact that you employ such staff!… I expected more and I also would appreciate somthing being done as me and my friends spent a lot of money there that day to leave with such an awful departure. If you can restore my faith in your company I would like to see how! Untill tnem I will be taking my friends elsewhere and we tell all about the judgemental staff you employ.

An absolutely stunning couple of days, thank you. We ate, drank, swam, had massages and just a fantastic break. The food wqs incredible, and everyone is so friendly. Ryan Gotts is worth a special mention. An absolute credit to Barnham Broom 🙂

Such a lovely place. So so easy to book by telephoning the Hotel’s Main Reception. We were made to feel welcome by the front of house staff from the off, even accommodating our request to sit near the window. The food was exceptional, mains were beautifully presented and just the right amount served. Perfect in every way! Desserts were the same. All praise to the lady chef!! Julie must get a HUGE mention, she was exceptional in the service she gave to us on both evenings we ate there, really friendly, taking the time to chat about the area and championing The Brasserie. Well done, we will be back 👌🏼

The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in and shown to our table that the waiter had chosen for us which was a lovely booth tucked away in a quaint corner of the restaurant the atmosphere was lovely and even though it was a busy evening you could still hear yourself speak. Then the food arrived and it was amazing along with the wine and our waitress was a joy and was very friendly and joined in with the banter which was very pleasant. Would recommend to anyone

I decided to surprise my daughter and take her for a deluxe spa break . We couldn’t fault the afternoon tea and massages at the spa these were brilliant . We were very excited about our evening meal but left feeling very deflated . On arrival no staff told us what we could have with our package, we received the wrong drinks menu. After around 20 minutes someone finally came over and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered and asked for tap water too . One of the drinks arrived but the water and other one never did so we had to find a young bar man who was rushing about and ask him . He was lovely and went and got them for us . After a long time of waiting bread and something in a little pot was plonked on our table , no explanation what it was , we thought we had got someone else’s starter . Finally we ordered our starters it was lovely but no spoon for my daughters soup so again we had to search for staff , plates took absolutely ages to be collected, mains came finally after 1.5 hours. It was lovely but the atmosphere was bad as other customers were getting fed up of waiting too. Finally got dessert and after we finished we sat patiently waiting for our plates to be taken and bill given ,as a lot on the menu which we liked you had to pay extra for .I thought this was ridiculous thinking back how much this break had cost me . After staff walking past us and ignoring us and the empty plates I had had enough and went to find someone to put it on our room bill . This experience was not the lovely bday treat I had expected for my daughters 21st disappointing is an understatement!!!

Service was very good and attentive. Food was ok but got the impression it was designed to cater for large numbers. When we were there they had a wedding and anniversary party on the go as well as a couple of large groups of golfers. Could get a bit noisy. Almost like they need a separate area for couples/small parties.

Came to Barnham Broom for a meal, to celebrate my brothers 80th birthday. From the time we walked in to the time we left, excellent service, a warm welcome from Ryan, and fantastic service from lily, Who made sure my brother enjoyed the night, to finish the evening off, a birthday slate with happy birthday on it and chocolates, Thank you Ryan, Lily and Tempany for a lovely evening. I was invited for afternoon tea with my friends at Barnham Broom and I was very impressed with the service, the food was amazing and the lady who served us was very friendly and professional. I’m sure the lady’s name who served us was Rowan, I remember her name as it’s unique. Overall we all had a wonderful time and will definitely be visiting again. Thank you!

We had a lovely dinner at the Brasserie this evening . The food was very good, the restaurant was warm and stylish. Wendy our server was welcoming, friendly and super attentive. There were great options for me as a vegetarian and best of all the food was piping hot. Definitely we will visit again when we are in the area. Thank you to Wendy and the chef!

My Wife and I booked a 1-30 sitting for the Christmas Lunch . We were welcomed with a friendly greeting and enjoyed a pleasant pre lunch drink at the bar.. The food was good but the staff made the big difference with their friendly and relaxed attitude making the experience extremely enjoyable . Thanks to all involved.

It was extremely cold in the restaurant, my colleagues and myself had our coats on all evening. Brownie was rock solid, we couldn't eat it. To make it worse, they charge me 3 times for the same drink. Will never go there again and I will never recommend it to anyone

I had booked to play golf and decided before I spend 4 hours in the Norfolk countryside, zig zagging around the fairways, I would need a hearty breakfast. I was not disappointed! From the first class welcome by Dana and warm and cosy decor, I was not disappointed. Also a fantastic view over the golf course, really got me in the mood for my day ahead. There is a continental buffet that you help yourself too, porridge cooked to order and a full hot menu with all the classics you would expect to see in a top notch restaurant. I went for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and it did not disappoint. Set me up for a brilliant day ahead and thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Barnham Broom.

Wouldn’t return out of choice. Staff were unhelpful, unfriendly and at times, rude. This isn’t a reflection on all staff as a couple of them were lovely. Food was extremely average. Have been to Barnham Broom a few times in the past and have found it the same every time

Poor quality food when serving up to a room all at the same time. There’s few places that get this right. My only previous dealings with here were; doing my golf lessons here which were ok up until a recent injury, staying here for my friends wedding where we stayed two nights in 2018 and using the Sports Bar. The venue is ok, we did think drinks were extortionate, £7.50 for a glass of Prosecco. We did have to query a round when 5 drinks came to £51, only to find out we’d been overcharged, which they did put right.

We all enjoyed the meals. Rather shocked at the final bill which was excessive. Worse was table service, patronising and standing by listening to our conversations and even commenting. No wonder that the restaurant was almost empty. Not going back.

Enjoyed a three course meal as part of the package whilst staying in the hotel. The menu wasn't hugely varied but the quality of the food was outstanding. The service was excellent too and we would have no hesitation in dining there again.

The Brasserie restaurant located within the hotel is over priced, the food portions are tiny and the quality is not great. Had the lamb in the evening £20 buys one slice of lamb with more fat than meat on one piece of aubergine. Vegetables are extra eg chips are another £4.5. Full English breakfast is also poor. 1 sausage, 1 mushroom, 3 pieces of sauté potato !!, 1 over cooked hard fried egg, 1/2 tomatoe and a cold coffee. We have been for dinner several times and always have a good experience. The food and wine are always good and the service is always efficient! The only thing that lowers it slightly is the training level of the staff. Not a complaint, more of a comment: I understand they have to start somewhere, but the waitress was not familiar with the wine list or menu so served a red instead of a white wine and we had to point to the items on the menu we were ordering.

Went there for my husband for afternoon tea it was a disaster. The cutlery was dirty even had food in forks ,tea pot was stained. We had 3 sandwiches 2 had cucumber in .there was not much choice of cakes so they gave us 2 scones each .We phone to complain and was told a manager would phone us back 4 hours later we phoned again but was told they were too busy at the moment. We were due to go back Tuesday for a meal but have cancelled this due to bad hygiene

Fresh and tasty afternoon tea, with especially yummy miniature eclairs! Definitely not where to head if you’d like to leave absolutely stuffed (I’d recommend Biddy’s Tea Room or The Assembly House for this!) but nice for a light bite.

10 th August - 40 minutes for a drink to arrive. Disappointing service 2 1\4 hours for 2 courses. Had early reservation as had 2 young children. Conflicting information on menu ours was Brassiere then when ordering dessert told sports bar menu. Had to keep chasing food with staff. Not a pleasant experience.

Went for Sunday lunch. Restaurant quiet, and many of those eating were having afternoon tea rather than lunch. Their tiered plates were well stacked with all that you would expect of an afternoon tea and all seemed satisfied with their food. All staff were very attentive, pleasant and efficient- including Luke our waiter. Our food was okay, nothing to complain about. It wouldn’t however cause me to rush back for a meal, though I might give the afternoon tea a try! Having tried to book lunch at 3 other restaurants before managing to get a booking here indicates that there are plenty of people looking for a good Sunday lunch, but maybe The Brasserie isn’t quite managing to meet their needs.

Ten of us came for lunch to celebrate my birthday. Food and service very good. Our waitress was called Marcie and the service we received was excellent. We will be coming back to try the afternoon tea.

A delicious afternoon tea with Marcie who served us so well. The key lime macaroon was a particular hit with us as so different to anything we have had before. Refill of tea appreciated. Only issue was the milk jug doesn’t pour properly so milk went everywhere.

Arrived at the venue and was helped by A member of staff called Leon, very polite, friendly and happy to help. After explaining we were hear for afternoon tea, he approached Marcie who seated us at the table, she was lovely throughout the visit, so friendly, kind and chatty. Getting down to the afternoon tea, this was just divine, everything was perfect, from sandwiches, sausages rolls, cakes, cheesecake, just yummy! As for the setting looking out onto the golf course on a sunny afternoon, was beautiful! Was nice to spend the afternoon with the wife where we could just relax and be ourselves. Thank You!

We had lunch , afternoon tea and also dinner during our stay at this hotel. The lunch was freshly made and the quality was very good . The staff who served us were polite and professional . However the afternoon tea was very very basic . The sandwiches were really small with hardly any filling . The scones were good but the cakes again were basic and nothing special. We were quite disappointed with the afternoon tea as after reading some really good reviews were looking forward to it . The dinner menu was very small with limited dishes . We opted for the sword fish which came with a few pieces of broccoli and we asked for chips instead of mash . We were given a bowl each of french fries . When we asked for tarter sauce we were told they didn’t have any . The portions of food were small considering it wasn’t cheap . The restaurant was empty when we went so service was quite quick . For a place like this we were expecting an extensive menu especially for dinner and were disappointed with what was available .

A pre-Christmas afternoon tea at Barnham Broom Hotel has become a tradition for a group of us and this was especially good. The food was lovely and the service was excellent.

We had ‘festive’ afternoon tea yesterday at Barnham broom brasserie. To say we were disappointed at the least. We actually ordered traditional afternoon tea as it gave us the option, so when we got there, there was only an option to have festive, which 2/5 of us did not like half of the festive menu. When asked if we could swop a few sandwiches, the lady who served us did not look happy at that request and made us feel very uncomfortable. The bread was hard like it had been sat out for ages, i would not go back again. We found most of the staff rude and like serving us was a chore.

Popped in today for a coffee and cake, sat don beside the fire and had several staff walk passed us, not one asked us if we would like any tea/coffee so we walked about..

Acabo de tomar el té de la tarde en el club de golf con mi hijo y su pareja y su madre para el cumpleaños de mi esposa. Esta fue la primera vez que tomé el té de la tarde y quedé muy impresionado con los alrededores, la calidad de la comida y el excelente café. El personal muy amable definitivamente volvería otra vez si me invitan.

El personal era muy amable, fueron muy buenos y pudieron atender a mi hija (celíaca) sin gluten, pero el restaurante estaba muy frío y la comida no era tan buena como la que he probado en el pasado, muy decepcionante pedimos un corte de el día que se describió como filete de solomillo al horno, pero en realidad eran dos rebanadas de rosbif poco cocinado que no se habían cortado muy bien, servido en una cama de repollo rojo con sabor a anís, ¿creo? No es para mi gusto, mi hija tenía el pollo crujiente que estaba seco e increíblemente simple. La mejor parte de nuestras comidas fue el rollo. El personal asumió mi queja y no me hizo sentir incómodo y ofreció un descuento, también nos invitaron a una fuente encantadora deseándonos feliz aniversario, ya que era nuestro 29 aniversario de bodas como un gesto de buena voluntad, que fue muy bien presentado y un toque encantador Pero dudo que vuelva a comer allí.

Had an afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast with my daughter as her birthday treat. Excellent food and wine and staff very friendly. Had an excellent steak cooked to order and vegetables very fresh. They had good vegetarian options too

We ate in this restaurant on two evenings. It is not the best choice if looking for an evening of conversation with a dining partner. The golfing fraternity are very loud drowning out any conversation across a standard square table for two. Our first meal highlighted gaps in service. We were not offered water, even though this was offered for other tables. We had to ask. Same for the bread rolls, we had to ask. I have food sensitivities and was disappointed that it was not possible to find out the ingredients in a twice backed cheese soufflé. The reason given on the Friday was that “it was a new menu and the allergens sheet had not been prepared yet”. The chef was asked and not able to say what was in his cheese soufflé. I declined to order a starter to avoid any resulting discomfort if I got it wrong. I had a safe steak main course.

As part of a 2 day golf tour the food, accommodation and 2 rounds of golf were v good value. The restaurant staff/service was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Bar and meal wine prices were excessive.

The hotel seemed similar to many others we have seen on past business trips - sort of ‘Golf/Corporate’ so we were unsure about booking at the restaurant for a special occasion meal while we were on holiday in Norfolk but as it was the nearest to us we booked and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was very good.

Just had afternoon tea at the Brassier not worth £15.95 per person for a few sandwiches a few cakes a few cups of tea.Will not be going there again.It is totally over priced for what you get.

Barnham Broom is our go to place to get away from it all both as a couple and family. We love it so much I even brought my parents here..and they are hard to please:) The outstanding features include the exceptional service, incredible food and spotless and comfy accommodation. The beds are fabulous. The chef needs a special mention as does our server Veronique who last night served us with great humour and attentiveness in the midst of several large functions that were going on at the same time. Bravo! We’ll be back!

Residing at the hotel on a three night golfing break, with a breakfast & set evening menu deal. Breakfast was as small or as large as you wished, teas and coffees came almost immediately, cooked breakfast was hot an arrived in a timely manner most accommodating when going slightly off menu. Pre-ordered dinner menu was good quality food, slightly disappointed by the chicken with pesto being over powered by a really strong gravy. The daily menus were a touch repetative but overall no complaints. The staff were attentive, requests were dealt with efficiently and politely. There were comments that the white wine could have been better chilled but as a red wine drinker I was unaffected. Thumbs up - Thank you.
