This is a lovely riverside pub, with really friendly staff, and used to be good food too; however, the last two times that we have been (a year apart) our food hasn't been so good. Food very overcooked and pretty much uneatable. We decided not to complain this time (31/07), but when we tried to pay with cash (£50) it was refused. Unfortunately we will not be going again anytime soon.

Such a lovely location on the river. We sat on one of the canopied tables, which was welcome on a very hot day. BBQ menu only, as it was a Tuesday, but plenty of choice. Food was good quality, 2 had the burgers, one had salt and pepper squid. Plus chips. Good choice of ales and Aspall's cider. Very good outdoor area and plenty of parking.

Outstanding riverside pub! We stopped here on our Norfolk Broad (South Broad) boat trip, as soon as we walked in we were met by two very welcoming bar staff (ladies) they were informative and happy to help. Lovely atmosphere, friendly locals and definitely would recommend you stop here. Easy mooring. We have stopped at many pubs along the board but this one stands out. Traditional, yet fresh and welcoming!

We went for an early evening meal and didn't book ahead. Great welcome and we were seated at a very comfortable table with plenty of room and soft seating. The menu was quite limited so three of us chose the lamb cutlets with a bean sauce and some extra chunky chips and our fourth member chose the king prawn linguini. The food came very quickly. Each of us had two small lamb cutlets on our plate which were edible although had very little meat on them and the bean casserole was bland and seemed to be made out of tinned tomatoes and white beans with some herbs but no seasoning or punch. Again the linguini had no taste and the prawns were very small. Apparently there was vodka in the sauce but we couldn't taste it. Even the chunky chips, although a good size, were tasteless so we had to ask for ketchup and mayo. After eating our meals the two men were still hungry as the portions were small, more like starter size. They decided to order more food and the gnocchi and chicken goujons were chosen. The gnocchi was £17:95 but a huge mistake. The plate came covered in a pile of plain rocket and broccoli and was completely tasteless. The goujons were okay once dunked in the barbeque sauce. The skinny fries were also tasteless. We ordered coke which was fine but the ales were poor. Neither had flavour. It was a very expensive meal for the standard of food. However the service was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly but it was a very disappointing and overpriced meal sadly.

Directed to a table immediately and order taken straight away. From there on, it went downhill. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes and having to eventually ask where our food was, it eventually came. What a disappointment. My father, who had ordered roast pork, got a plate with 2 pork slices that looked as though they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple of hours and were totally dried out. The roasted potatoes and parsnips were burnt to a crisp, and you were unable to get a fork into. We sent it back and gout a plate of roast pork with slightly better vegetables on. My roast beef was awful as well. I also felt sorry for the people on the table next to us who had 3 young children and experienced the same problem. What was worse was there appeared to be no one in charge who wanted to offer an apology or explanation for the appalling service. Needless to say, I would not recommend anyone to go here.

Lovely setting, really friendly staff ... But terribly disappointing - and overpriced - food. I ordered the aubergine burger. For £15 you get a a couple of strips of flavourless, undercooked aubergine inside an insipid supermarket white bun, served with cheaply sourced french fries and a (thankfully small) pot of thick, factory mayonnaise smothered raw onions pretending to be coleslaw. To be fair, the fish and chips on a neighbouring table looked a lot better. Perhaps stick with core pub grub rather than anything too 'exotic' next time?

Unfortunately the food and service let's this pub down. The views are beautiful and it would have been nice to have enjoyed our dinner whilst watching local boats meander up and down the river. When we arrived on a Friday evening, the queue to the bar was incredibly long, with only two members of staff working behind the bar. Later on we realised that the pub was also hosting a large bridal party which I think added to the issues. We ordered the cajun chicken strips to start but they came out after the mains and we ordered the chicken burgers for mains. Whilst the burger was tasty the chips were cold. Also when my partner asked how long food was going to be, the manager snapped at him and said there's obviously a wait due to the larger bridal party they were entertaining and he was struggling with staff shortages. We paid £39 for the food and £16 for our drinks. Not sure we'll be coming back here again when we visit Norfolk in the near future. It's a shame because it has great potential due to it's location, space and character.

Lovely spot for a beer but the food was horrendous. Took ages to arrive and was so bad we sent it back twice and eventually just got a full refund and left without eating. Bar and wait staff were lovely, apologetic and rightly, embarrassed. Two people ordered roast dinners, both were inedible. Another ordered a blue steak which arrived well done. This was replaced with a raw steak that wasn’t even seared on the outside. Grim.

The girl behind the bar should really have more 'customer service' training. The lack of enthusiasm - to the extent of rudeness - Totally disinterested in us as customers. And then the experience even just got better - our pregnant daughter-in-law got locked in the toilet for 15+mins. To cut a long story short - one of the male staff had to sort by passing a screwdriver through the window - with the comment of 'we have had problems with this door for a while'!!!!! Driving up to Coldham Hall you could be forgiven for thinking your meal would be reflected in the sumptuous English countryside that surrounds you. Indeed if it's a glass of beer and wine that you crave and the weather is clement enough to immerse yourself in the stunning river view then you won't be disappointed. However, don't be tempted to eat anything. The food we were served on Sunday cunningly described as a roast pork loin was probably the worst meal I've ever had. The pork was two slices of thinly slice leather which you could nearly cut and the vegetable were a mishmash over over cooked and undercooked. What a huge disappointment.

We have visited this place before and have always been impressed by the friendly service and tasty, generous portions. Therefore we were disappointed this time around to find the food was very different. Not only were the portions smaller, but both the roast potatoes and gravy lacked any flavour. The nut roast was unimpressive and the chicken dry. My husband requested mushy peas with his cod, and had peas served that looked like they'd been pressed with a fork. I had heard that there was a different chef, so maybe it'll take them a while to adjust. However, sadly we won't be back anytime soon.

This was our third visit. We chose to come here to celebrate our son's birthday because of our previous positive experiences. There is always a warm welcome, and the staff are friendly. I had the beef roast and the food was awful! The meat was cold, and really tough (Hurt my fingers with the pressure I had to put on the cutlery to try and cut the beef)l as I wasn’t given the correct knife) the Yorkshire pudding was burnt, cold and crispy, the veg was cold, The bacon was burnt and cold. The stuffing was dry and tough (And I had to pay £1.50 extra for it!) the food took nearly 30 minutes to come (And they didn’t look too rushed off their feet so no idea what they were all doing) I’m really not impressed! Kept hearing the staff chatting in the kitchen and coughing in the kitchen and as they were walking around the restaurant. (Really hoping they covered their mouths and washed their hands before handling the food!) the decor is lovely and has old train seats and tables which is nice, but the food is awful and I won’t be coming back

The Pulham Crown is a lovely pub and Pulham Market is lucky to have it. Low beams, beautiful log fires, lovely views across The Green in the summer and a refurbishment several years ago that transformed the property. Last night we took friends from Sussex for dinner, it being potentially hazardous due to the dietary needs of one diner. However, we needn’t have been worried. Our waitress was well versed in gluten and dairy free and explained such, very well, suggesting good staff training by management. On the down side we commented how, wherever you go these days the menu is made up of pizza, burgers and pies, even in restaurants. Also, beware, the wine is hideously expensive when by the glass. I ordered two pints of Wherry and two, admittedly large glasses of wine and the bill was an eye watering £27! For four drinks? Having said that, the environment is lovely, the staff apparently well trained and the food is excellent. Thanks for a lovely evening
