The Pulham Crown is a lovely pub and Pulham Market is lucky to have it. Low beams, beautiful log fires, lovely views across The Green in the summer and a refurbishment several years ago that transformed the property. Last night we took friends from Sussex for dinner, it being potentially hazardous due to the dietary needs of one diner. However, we needn’t have been worried. Our waitress was well versed in gluten and dairy free and explained such, very well, suggesting good staff training by management. On the down side we commented how, wherever you go these days the menu is made up of pizza, burgers and pies, even in restaurants. Also, beware, the wine is hideously expensive when by the glass. I ordered two pints of Wherry and two, admittedly large glasses of wine and the bill was an eye watering £27! For four drinks? Having said that, the environment is lovely, the staff apparently well trained and the food is excellent. Thanks for a lovely evening

If you want burgers, pie, pizza, fish&chips also on our table location - on a busy food/pedestrian pass- plus a classy constant ‘C bomb’ dropping female barfly atmos - then this the place for you! Used to be great - what the heck has gone wrong? No specials, no drinks service, no enquiry as to if everything was ok (maybe too embarrassed to ask!). Great family (away from the classy barfly) ‘cafe/burger joint - but not a couples restaurant - maybe a commercial choice but not for us sadly anymore.

Can't fault it. Asked for a window seat on the booking and on arrival the table was set up ready. Only one member of staff front of house who was friendly and professional despite the number of people being served. The food was exceptional - simple but everything perfectly cooked - delicious. Atmosphere very relaxed and happy as customers valued and looked after. Other places could learn from this.

The Crown is a relaxed and beautifully cosy pub, with plenty of space and an eclectic mix of tables and comfy chairs. Our family of three generations ate here Thursday evening. Although I wouldnt eat late, we were delayed and did'nt order until 8:30. I cannot remember the last time I had a steak and ale pie so tasty. The pastry was perfect, firm and tasty. It was packed solid with meat and gravy. Lovely mash was accompanied with perfectly cooked carrots, brocolli and green beans. The individual pot of gravy was plentiful and delicous, and the whole meal was perfectly hot. I live 2 hours away but the next time I'm in the area I shall definately re-vist. I bet their Sunday roasts on a cold winters day are reall good.

We met friends here, party of 8, for a meal. It is a nice looking pub with good ambience, however, the food was so-so and the service was terrible . We waited ~1 hour for 6 of the meals and a further 15 minutes for next. The last meal did not arrive until 90 minutes after we had ordered. No explanation.

22/6/2024 had lunch here today. Have eaten here before and throughly enjoyed it which is why we bought family today. However today was a huge disappointment, ordered mussels and duck pate for starters, they didn't have any. Ordered the burger with bacon and blue cheese as mains, both myself and my mother in law left most of it as it was inedible as was far to salty. We left hungry! not once offered any replacement meal or money off our bill, nothing, wasn't askedyi if our meal was OK. I did explain the burgers were extremely salty. Won't be going back!

After passing this place many times we decided to stop on the spur of the moment. The Crown is very understated outside - no signs or billboards. We opened the door and wow! it was a perfect scene of a thriving country pub. There were lots of groups on the comfy sofas and chairs. As it was past 8pm and we hadn't booked we asked if we could eat. Lovely response "yes, of course-would you like a drink while we prepare your table?" A little later we were shown into the restaurant and had an delicious, interesting meal - including both having a mackerel starter and I had venison to follow. All served with a smile. We will definitely return

My aunt and uncle who are in their late 80s and suffering from health issues live locally and I cannot fault the kindness, care and consideration that we received from Chloe when we were trying to sort out a booking on Boxing Day as well as sorting out takeaway meal . She really went over and above to accommodate the situation and we were extremely impressed. Recently we decided to try to take them to aThe Crown for lunch and we didn’t like to pre-book a table as there was a strong possibility it wouldn’t happen on the day . We did finally manage to get there and I went in before we tried to get everyone out of the car to check that there was a table available. They were fully booked but again Chloe tried everything she could change bookings round et cetera et cetera to fit us in. I had already said we totally understood that they were full and it was worth a try, but she wasn’t going to give up and really did do everything she could to squeeze us in somehow, thanks to her efforts and another customer who I had held the door open for so they walked in before myself, and had took the last free table , we had a perfect table and seating area for the four of us. She even offered to assist us in getting my aunt and uncle out of the car into the pub. Chloe is such a rare person, especially in this day and age and is a huge asset to any person who is lucky enough to have her working for them. It’s a good job that my husband and I don’t live locally as we would be in here all the time it’s the most warm friendly welcoming pub I have ever walked into. There’s a beautiful open log fire, lots of lovely sofas and armchairs and such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent and it was the best steak and ale pie that I have had for many many years. Unfortunately we were not able to stay for dessert Which was disappointing but couldn’t fault the quality of the food

The pub is really nice, everyone is friendly and a good atmosphere. Unfortunately we were slightly let down in that we ordered Sunday roasts and one for our dogs, we were asked how we wanted our beef and said pink, the beef was really chewy and almost to hard to cut, we left nearly all of it and feedback to the waitress. We got an apology but that was it, I would have expected a bit more given we couldn’t even feed our dogs half the beef. I did hear just after we ordered them tell the waitress only one beef left, so I assume we got the last of what was left. The rest of the meal was nice, just a bit of a let down to remedy this which was a shame.

I ordered the tiger king prawns very tasty and were extraordinarily quick. We brought my cockapoo Milo which luckily they had a dog menu and lots of free treats. After, I ordered the best burger I have possibly ever had in my life this burger was juicy, crisp, tender and very filling. It was filled with 6-8 strips of bacon cooked to perfection, multiple slices of pickle that complimented the stack of blue cheese placed above the 12oZ juicy, tender, tasteful slab of beef. This burger was sided with two things: A small bowl of coleslaw made with creamy mayo, carrot and lettuce. Some crisp, salty chunky chips with some mayonnaise and ketchup which the staff kindly brought out. As it was my birthday they brought me out a little cake saying happy birthday thank you to all the staff and team appreciate you all

Arrived for lunch at 1.30 ordered food and drinks. A risotto main and two starters with chips. After 40 minutes we were told they only had a sous chef and our food would be ready soon. 20 minutes later after a second person apologised for the wait our food arrived. First the risotto then 5 minutes later the temporary veg, and calamari (4 rings in palid batter and a large dollop of slaw) which were cold. The chips were the best thing but arrived last and some time after the other starters. The initial offer of free drinks didn't cover the poor service. A second portion of calamari arrived. And the first was taken away to reheat. Ultimately we negotiated a very large discount

We chose this establishment from all the others in this area due to its menu online. We arrived, ordered drinks, and were led to our table. On the perusal of the menu, it was totally different from the online one. My beer was off, so I had to change it. The second beer was nice but served in a sticky glass. There were no chunky chips available for my meal of haddock. The steak pie was a traditional suet pastry and very flavoursome, but all in all, it was a little disappointing as we had already seen what we wanted on the online menu. The service was appalling as the two girls were trying to run the bar as well as serving food. This was not their fault but of the management. There is a health and safety issue in the restaurant, and that is an unmarked step to the pub, which one punter had a nasty trip. I'm sorry, but this is not a place I would recommend or come to again.

I had the beef roast and the food was awful! The meat was cold, and really tough (Hurt my fingers with the pressure I had to put on the cutlery to try and cut the beef)l as I wasn’t given the correct knife) the Yorkshire pudding was burnt, cold and crispy, the veg was cold, The bacon was burnt and cold. The stuffing was dry and tough (And I had to pay £1.50 extra for it!) the food took nearly 30 minutes to come (And they didn’t look too rushed off their feet so no idea what they were all doing) I’m really not impressed! Kept hearing the staff chatting in the kitchen and coughing in the kitchen and as they were walking around the restaurant. (Really hoping they covered their mouths and washed their hands before handling the food!) the decor is lovely and has old train seats and tables which is nice, but the food is awful and I won’t be coming back
