Was very disappointed to see on my receipt that we had been severely over charged, wrong items were tilled through, so check your receipts, and for what we received was kids size portions. Not a good way to get repeat customers. Such a shame as it looks like a lovely coffee shop.

I had to make a new account just to review this visit. Coffee tasted old, I had an oat latte. (This was pleasant enough) Gentleman who served us said he was the son of the owners - he had short hair and said he was 35. When making our drinks he decided to tell us that he disagrees with the covid vaccine which of course made us uncomfortable when he was preparing our drinks with no mask (very unsafe) He also decided to share his views on stop and search in regards to young black men, which is very unprofessional and offensive. This also was not provoked, and he brought it up willingly on his own. This was not necessary to do at 10am when getting a coffee before work. I advised him not to share these views with customers as many people will be offended. I simply suggested that black men are not genetically inclined to commit crimes - and he said ‘i disagree’. Unfortunately this was an unpleasant experience - would not recommend, just wanted a coffee and to leave.

This superior tea shop and coffee halt really sums up Thames Ditton, perched as it is opposite the big tree that sticks out from the tarmac of the high street. The Lime Tree is achingly trendy - tile floors, paintings on the wall, cutesy tables and superbly kept and shamelessly expensive cheese behind the backlit and scrupulously clean fresh deli counter. You can only fit 14 inside, so there's an air of exclusivity about the place - although there's scope for warm-weather overspill on to tiny tables on the pavement, adding a further four spaces, despite the pavement being barely wide enough for a double buggy. If budget isn't an issue, this is the place to come. The prices are not designed to pull in the cost-conscious, but then again that was never the intention. Watercolours by the owner hang on the wall. Food-wise, the lunchtime offerings are wholesome and good; the inevitable smashed avocado toast is now becoming such a cafe cliche that it's almost ironic, but go instead for the toasties or the sandwiches (no, not cheese or ham... think goat's cheese, roast vegetables with red pepper relish). With a mix of sturdy wood furniture and Parisian light tables-for-two, it's the ideal place to enjoy a slice of hazelnut cake or a Portuguese sponge. The selection of deli cheeses and cold meats is second to none, especially if price is no object, and the side wall is packed with dried, bottles and jarred deli offerings too. I had an Earl Grey - beautifully presented in a china pot.

I have been visiting the Lime Tree for at least 7/8 years now. Yes, it is a small venue and because it is so popular, on the odd occasion, space can be tight and waiting times a little longer, but I am prepared to accept this as the produce they use, the food they create and the service they deliver is second to none! Their coffee is the best around for miles and their Chocolate Guinness Cake is to die for! My only complaint is that Sharon will not create a cookbook for all her delicious recipes! Keep doing what your doing - Team Lime Tree all the way!!! - thanks guys :)

The owner of this establishment needs to go on a customer care course. She us rude and unhelpful on every level. My daughter and I went into this coffee shop for lunch. My daughter ordered the soup and I ordered a sandwich. The soup came next thing another customer bumped the table and you guessed it , the soup went everywhere. The owner came gushing over ranting and raving promptly started to clear away the mess. Failed to ask if anyone had got scolded with the hot soup, she was too busy with the mop! I thought she would replace the soup with another one..........we are not talking about a 8oz fillet steak here. I proceeded to share my sandwich with my daughter. Maybe she will not charge us for the soup was running through my head. NO when we received the bill we were charged for the soup. Appalling service to say the least.......

Cuando me fue presentada con él, le pedí el hombre que entregó a mí (propietario?) si era descafeinado y dijo que estaba. Me lo dieron inicio y bebimos un poco. No fue nada descafeinado. Once I was at the front of the queue and it took 10mins to make a cup of tea, as they were making up sandwiches and serving the deli counter at the same time! I always feel in the way and even though I was only buying a cup of tea & an overpriced croissant, it wouldn't make me want to go back!

I would like to have left a positive comment about the food and beverages at the Lime Tree coffee shop. Sadly the lady I attempted to speak to regarding purchasing some lunch was barely able to cease her telephone conversation before telling me they had stopped serving in a less than welcoming tone. I contemplated purchasing a take away coffee and cake, but the lady in question was so embroiled in her conversation, this would have been an exercise in futility. I later spoke to the landlord of a local pub about my experience who agreed that he too had been spoken to rudely and then been served grossly over priced produce. I sincerely hope the owners recognise they have failings in their attitude to customer service and actively seek some staff who can compensate for their own shortcomings.

The 'gentleman' who runs this establishment was extremely rude to us when we went there and asked if they served breakfast and, instead of just saying that unfortunately they don't but could they offer us something else, he didn't even bother looking up from what he was doing and said "do we look like a greasy spoon? I think you'll find this isn't the type of establishment to serve up greasy fry ups so I suggest you try elsewhere" - he didn't look at us once. Number one - we didn't even ask for a 'fry up' (I don't even eat them!) - we just asked if they served breakfast. What a very rude man with a bad attitude. I've been there once before too and found him to be unfriendly and scowling. I would never go back there because of his awful and shamelessly rude manner. I can only say one thing. Amazing! The quality of produce and spotlessly clean! As someone who has worked in catering for over 15 years, I've never seen a place run with so much care and attention to detail! To those who have put negative comments regarding speed of service etc, let me assure you that Limetree has a terribly hard job to keep the quality so high. Sometimes good food does take a little longer if freshly prepared. I can see expensive produce in everything they use so I'm sure sometimes portions may be small to keep a price low. It is a business after all!! Cheap, poor quality food can be found elsewhere. Personally, I'm happy to pay more for quality. If I'm still hungry, I'll just buy something else rather than moan on Tripadvisor. Perhaps the lady with a prawn sand which who wrote a tough review was having a bad day anyway? :))Anyway, I'm impressed. And I'll be back. And I'll tell all my friends. What a breath of fresh air to see an independent business in such times of generic chains with poor quality food and expensive branding (the food must be cheap if they can afford it!).Keep up the good work Limetree and don't worry about grumpy mums who vent online. They clearly have enough issues!

I live in Thames Ditton, however I avoid the Lime Tree. As other reviewers have commented, I have previously found the gentleman owner to be scowling and unfriendly when I have visited with my baby daughter. The final straw occurred this spring, when I ordered a prawn ciabatta to take away. I was some distance from the restaurant before I realised that the roll contained a bit of lettuce and three very tiny prawns; hardly good value at £4.95! I wonder if the owners would have served this to a customer eating in? On the plus side, the cheese counter has a good selection, hence 2 stars.

I only wanted a quick coffee before carrying on with my day. They didn't want to except card payment for such a small amount, so i offered to pay a little extra in order to avoid going and searching for a cash machine and heading back out into the hail stones plummeting from the sky, this was excepted, but without a smile! My next question was "Can i please use your toilet?" i was told quick blankly that they didn't have one, i was quite taken a back as this cafe must seat about 15 people! I was absolutely desperate to go and so responded with "Seriously?" He then proceeded to tell me that there was a public toilet about 50 meters away in a car park!!!! There were hail stones falling from the sky, i had just ordered and paid, and he is suggesting that a take a hike!! How can you run a cafe and seat that many people and not have a facility for customers to use. A terrible reception over all, not worth the shelter on a stormy day!

We visited the Lime Tree for a second time today, with much trepidation. Unfortunately our experience was very similar to my last review. The blonde lady behind the counter looked like she was sucking lemons, and couldn't bring a smile to her face when taking my order. The tall gentleman, who I presume is her husband, looked like he just didn't want to be there. How can a couple run a pretty little coffee shop, with no competition in the village at all, and just expect customers to come in to such a hostile atmosphere? How much does it take to smile to a customer, say please and thank you, and "How is the food, is everything OK?" instead of just walking past as if we weren't there. I am sorry but customer service is at an all time low in this place, surely Mr and Mrs Lime Tree must read these reports and make changes. And they are looking for staff ! Oh dear, pity the poor waitress. Not a happy place at all.

The Lime Tree is well laid out with an interesting deli counter and good choice of foodie bits to buy. However don't go there if you are hungry or want your food served in the correct order. Our coffee came half an hour before our salas (how long does it take to prepare a cold salad and a sandwich?), then our cake arrived at the same time as our main course ! Unfortunately the owner needs a course in social skills and as she walked past us to go outside, she couldn't bring herself to smile and say "How is the food?" so even though the food, when it arrives, is of good quality, the slow service, and bad customer rapport makes me give The Lime Tree only two stars.

My partner and I came out a little while ago for a little date to watch the rugby. I learnt when we arrived that their cocktail menu is very bare. (DON’T come, if you’re coming for cocktails - even the basics ones! also NO food being served even though the website says they do!) I made my disappointment clear to the very young looking bartender about not having any cocktails. He said he could make me an off menu ‘special’ cocktail he learnt while he was living in Africa. It was special type of customer service I had never experienced before! My partner had a very fine New Zealand Savvy B. All negatives aside, the pub is very affordable for it being in the centre of Weybridge, cozy decor and both were staff were excellent. They also have a pool table at the back!! Don’t see that too often nowadays. Recommend if you’re ever in the weybridge area and in need of some cheap booze!

We had a lovely Saturday night dinner at The Queen’s Head in Weybridge yesterday. I chose the Chalkstream Trout, whilst my partner had the venison. We then both chose the same dessert, the pistachio soufflét, which was excellent. We must also give a shout out to our waitress, Jolie, who was brilliant. We can highly recommend dining at The Queen’s Head.

I really miss the place that did a roast in a massive Yorkshire pud as you walked into the services. That was some time ago now! Always busy here, a popular stop but nice food options and clean toilets.

Disappointed. Walked in and it smelt funny. Tea pot filthy. Coffee bitter. Didn’t drink and walked away to Mada Deli up the road.
