Bright sunshine on patio...no umbrellas. My friend has had skin cancer...please provide shade. We shouldn't have to be forced to stay inside.

Usually love this place and have a hot drink and slice of their banana cake most weekends. Feel absolutely cheated just now for the thin slither of banana cake I've just had put in front of me. Sorry, but I've had it enough times to know you've given me a half portion.

Nice little cafe. Super clean and decor is modern and nice . Great place to do work remotely . Coffee is nice. Food portions are teeny though ….. like very very small . Prices are overinflated especially when portions are kid size .

This place is a wonderful venue with great surroundings . Coffee was excellent unfortunately some members of the staff are not. They didn’t take cash none in till. Wanted a refill to a Americano was told they only do refills for filter coffee even though the menu has two prices for Americano one for refill and one price for full . The young staff were rude and abrupt. My partner came back to say what the young lady had told her. I approached her to show her the menu. They were mumbling under there breath as I approached counter. She confirmed what she had originally said. As I went to get my partner to leave they again started laughing and obviously discussing the conversation. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend this place . They will be glad I’m sure that we won’t be going back.

Went to The Oriole today with friends for lunch. It's a good venue with great views over the cricket ground. However, it was disappointing to find no tables were free. It seems it has become a glorified office for working and meetings. One woman at the back had spread her work out on a table for eight and her partner was also taking up space on another table for six. Students without drinks were on other tables. It definitely needs a sorting out. Needless to say we departed to the gate Inn spent over £80 that would have gone into the Oriole till if it wasn't for this selfish inconvenience. Time to sort it out owner.

Just enjoyed a delicious breakfast - squashy, tender, tasty salmon with perfectly ripe avocado on toast, local apple juice and a really good coffee. Friendly, smiley and prompt service too. This place is one of Canterbury’s best kept secrets.

Delicious cakes and drinks at the Oriole at the Lime Tree. We enjoyed the really good selection of cakes, sandwiches and drinks whilst watching cricket at Canterbury. The cafe has really improved the experience of watching cricket at the ground and the staff are friendly and chatty. We thoroughly recommend this place. Thank you so much for really improving the refreshment offerings at the ground, which means even our cricket team looks better at times!

This has recently changed hands and I and my friend were very impressed. The decor is much improved, stunning views of the cricket ground, friendly staff and good coffee and cake. Wonderful place to while away an hour or two. Will return and thoroughly recommend.

Under new management and now operating as the Oriole Café, we were fortunate to visit twice this week during a short holiday in Kent. Our son is a huge cricket fan, and we all enjoyed seeing the county side train. We loved the chocolate brownie and the lemon drizzle cake. The staff are lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. We’ll definitely be back, hopefully next time for live cricket!

There is a lovely seating area outside with table and chairs..but no shade. Asked for an umbrella..she said they didn't have any. No apology. In this hot weather..most of us look for shade. It was baking inside. Invest in some umbrellas...please!

Lovely coffee shop and plenty of seating (unless it's a busy match day!) however there is a slightly limited choice of hot food. The hot food on offer is usually something like Thai green curry, jacket potato with chilli so if you fancy what's offered then it's usually been very good home made style.

I've visited a few times now. It has a great aspect right alongside the cricket ground. There is a very long way to walk to get to the counter which is not great if you are disabled or elderly. Would they consider moving the counter along the side and putting seating at the back? Both times I was made a sandwich which was not great really. Slightly stale white bread, balanced on top of grated cheese and a massive slab of ham. The cheese fell out of the bread. Tea was a teabag left in the mug. I was trying to eat fast as both times the cafe was closing in 20 mins, and we were reminded of this. I got the impression they expected us to order, eat and vacate in 20 mins. If this wasn't likely to happen, they should have perhaps only offered drinks or something in the last half hour. They closed at 2pm on a Saturday, and we had gone in for some lunch. I think 2pm IS lunchtime, and they should stay open a bit longer to catch the lunch trade.

Nice ambience and friendly staff. Bagels..... But little else on offer. That said my crushed avocado 🥑 and smoked salmon was spot on. It just needs a menu that offers more variety..... Quiches, Homemade Soups would be great additions. Located in The Old Town Hall. Fully Licensed and Coffee/Cake for afters.

Had a nice bacon baguette really nice good price but feel ripped of paying £3 for supposed American pancakes turns out they are mini ones with syrup, kind of feel I got ripped of there.

The Beaney Cafe is spacious with high ceilings and probably a good place to meet with friends if you are a little bit unsure about meeting in a public place at the moment. The Earl Grey Cake was absolutely delicious and the staff, as always, are very obliging and friendly. Definitely recommend this as a place to meet with friends during this Coronovirus situation, as long as they stay open!
