Visited this morning with our dog we both had the full English breakfast it was really tasty and filling quality bacon and sausages the staff are so friendly and made us and our dog feel welcome definitely worth a visit.

Was meeting friends in Appleby and was going to James’ that was there previously to find it had changed name and ownership. We are all vegan and have struggled in the area in the past so I contacted Lilly’s to see if they could accommodate. The owners were lovely and made sure to have vegan cheese, sausages and soup in for us. They even opened the cafe on their day off to host us! Food and service was fab - my 8 year old declared his soup better than Gordon Ramsey’s! Lovely cafe and hope the family do well. We’ll be back next year!

Visited looking for “James’ Temptations” and found it had new ownership and a new name. Was not disappointed. Breakfast came with potato cakes and delicious sausages. Eggs were perfect. Sausages local and delicious, again perfectly cooked as was the bacon. Mushrooms done just how I like them with a bit of caramelisation. I have stringent breakfast standards and this more than matched up to them. Especially for under £8 in this day and age. Coffee was really nice. Mrs had pancakes and bacon which she was raving about. Owner said they also do US style BBQ in their spare time - would love to get my hands on some. Strongly recommend.

GreystokeLovely little local pub. We visited for an evening meal on Sunday just after the music finished. Great atmosphere.. food was good quality and good sized portions. Bar staff really friendly.

Brougham HallLovely little spot. Great selection of cakes, food, teas & coffees and even do Mocktails! Little bits on sale around the room Good for families, groups or a quick work lunch. Take away available. Different suppoet groups on during the week.

3 Three Crowns Tea Shop Three Crowns Yard4 of us ordered food, 2 jackets, 1 combi platter which all felt like frozen items fried and served with salad, not great but not terrible either. I ordered a cheese and onion pie with gravy as it was on the menu, I just said pie and pointed to it so didn't think to specify, 25 minutes wait later our food turned up and I got cottage pie put in front of me, they offered to change it for me but because everyone else had their food after a wait I felt obligated to accept it and it wasn't nice, the mince had clearly been defrosted as the mince beef clumped up. Felt really shitty eating it as I really fancied a cheese pie. The server hadn't bothered to clarify which pie I wanted not did they repeat the order back to us as the order was taken, poor customer service if you ask me. We won't be back. The venue was nice, the staff were friendly but oversights like this ruin the experience. Cottage pie would have been the last thing I would have ordered, I really really dislike it, but of course I'm too English to send it back. Nor did they offer to knock anything off the bill for the mess up.
