After a long lockdown it was nice to be back to Likya. Service as always great and food never fails . Highly recommend to anyone that hasn't tryed it yet.

Having had 'The Jab' (delighted to have received it - no issues whatsoever) a boost was just what was needed on a cold wet January evening: So, along we went: Lovely and warm in the restaurant - the grill was in full swing with chicken kebabs, lamb kebabs, peppers etc. roasting away - and flat breads warming: The welcome was great - fist to fist or elbow to elbow - and a cup of tea also offered - yes please!. We chose the grilled salmon (yes, fish can be ordered as well) which came with a mixed salad and a lamb donner with red cabbage. all were grilled to perfection and the salads were fresh and tasty. The warm flatbreads were lovely - a real filler and not too bad on the calories. The service - excellent and very quick - despite them being busy with customers waiting - and the phone ringing every few minutes with more well-deserved orders. Cannot wait for the tables and chairs to be laid out again.

During the most recent lockdown, we have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms at not being able to sit down in Likya - the best grill and restaurant for many miles around. We have, of course, had take-aways - which have been great - but nothing beats the atmosphere and 'buzz' - even if it is socially-distanced - of a relaxed visit. Now they are open again; we had chicken wings as a starter - always a very firm favourite; main course was grilled lamb shish with a very colourful freshly prepared mixed salad; the lamb was first-class and grilled to perfection (they get it right every time) and, along with the complimentary baklava and Turkish Delight to finish - our first evening out in over four weeks was a joy: As usual, Likya was as busy as they could be and, seeing them preparing take-away meals as well, was amazing - how do they do it?? We will certainly be back again shortly to our favourite eatery. An outstanding restaurant - and local.

Easy on par with anything I have eaten in Turkey itself... Very friendly staff, beautiful food, Efes beer and, to rounding off a baklava on the house... perfect

With only one night and having to choose wisely we opted for Likya and we were not disappointed. Excellent service, wonderful food and a great wine to complement it. The set meal for two would have fed an army!! Choose wisely or be prepared to be full.If we are ever here again we will definitely opt for an evening out at Likya.

Ordered take-away for collection and the food was ready in only 15 minutes and was packaged up ready for a quick handover. The portions were enormous and everything was really well boxed up - what we ordered for two could have easily fed 4 people, so a delicious lunch to look forward to tomorrow.Both dishes we ordered (Mixed Sis and Adana and a Lamb Iskender) were absolutely outstanding and we will definitely be ordering from them again.

Great restaurant thought it was pricey but food was lovely and service was excellent they give you a plate of warm bread when you sit down a nice dip would be nice to go with that I had veggie option and hubby had a selection of meat was really nice and a big plate full

As customers to this restaurant over a number of years, it was a delight to see Likya open - within the Govt. guidelines and taking part in the 'Eat Out......programme. I had the lamb chops with a wonderfully fresh salad whilst my partner had the chicken donner - again with a salad. Our starters were olives and the tarama. Portion sizes were excellent and the cooked meat was done to a turn. Dessert was their ice cream together with the complimentary baclava and Turkish delight: Perfection and with a built-in discount - I could happily dine here every day if funds allowed!! WHY THEN was one customer - earlier this week ('Worst ........ review) so fiercely rude and arrogant towards the staff - who kept their composure and were polite throughout?? We were sitting close by and heard the tirade in full. The 'click-finger' actions of this diner served only to show true colours. Perhaps another restaurant would suit them better!!

The food was absolutely delicious. It was our first time at this restaurant the service was great and the food was delicious. We had a selection of dips for a starter and shared a hot meze plate. My husband ordered lamb kebab with salad and rice. He throughly enjoyed his meal. We will defiantly be returning.

Ordered from here today and they have done an amazing job withMaking sure it is safe to operate during quarantine.The food is great and the service is even better, they are so friendly and kind. Complimentary salad, flat bread and balaclava and Turkish tea is definitely a plus.I would highly recommend, just to experience the service and definitely want to go back again!

we have been regularly to eat in and now we have to do takeaway, but it doesn't change the excellent delicious food or the great service.Had some shish kebabs - moist and tender chicken and lambchicken wings - lovelycrispy hot chipslots of nice breadnice hummus, tasty veggies.A slight hiccup in the order on 1 occasion and they bent over backwards to rectifyand rounded off with sticky baklava. Thank you. will continue to keep coming back.

After many weeks of seeing their doors closed and shutters down, I called on them again last week - and they are open (for take away only at the moment) but they have been sorelty missed: Available for take away is almost the whole menu - we couldn't have some of the items - such as kleftico or the casseroles - but the whole grill is open - including all the fish, chicken and lamb as well as the kebabs. I had the grilled salmon and my partner had a lamb kebab; these came with the warm bread, salads etc. Great: We are very much looking forward to the re-opening of the restaurant later in the year but, for the moment we will certainly be paying very regular visits.

Visited again very recently and, while it was less busy (mid-week) than normal, probably due to 'corona', the food was still first class and delivered to table with a huge smile. My partner had a kebab (chicken) with a lovely tomato sauce and it came with chips: I had the salmon grilled to perfection, which is always a firm favourite. The tables were spotless - being cleaned as soon as diners vacated (as is always the practice here) and there was a constant stream of take-aways. In these difficult days, Likya deserves our strongest support from its regular customers - a take-away if sit-down is not the preferred option at present. When the current situation ends (as it will) I would like to see Likya still in its well-deserved position - no. 1 in Borehamwood.

A first visit for us to Likya Attentive service and great food, and for a Thursday night the restaurant was very busy. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and we will most definitely going back

We arrived shown to our table very cramped seating, everyone on top of each other. Starters came n plates from bread n dips were still left on table so we passed them along! Very expensive £7.40 f a gin n tonic £20 f a bottle of cheap white wine, grubby glass main course was lovely staff quite attentive the lady was fab. If all the staff were like her that would b fab!!!! We felt very rushed tbh wasn’t there an hour n 20mins!!!! I wouldn’t go back but it’s my personal choice did get very busy n I think they needed the table.

The staff are very welcoming here and check if everything is ok regularly we ordered Some cold starters, and the chicken beyti and mixed sis shish, then we had some complimentary turkish tea which was lovely, the servings were large so you don't leave hungry, Would definitely recommend

We stopped off in Borehamwood for lunch today (4 adults and 5 kids) after a visit to the local trampoline place. After being told of long waits at the high street chain restaurants we carried on down the street a bit further and discovered this wonderful restaurant. We had a great value lunch from the two course £9.95 menu. The meat is cooked on the chargrill in the restaurant so you know it’s fresh and it was super tasty. The staff were brilliant with the kids and there were some lovely little touches like the bread and dips, Turkish delight and lollies for the kids. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great lunch.

Likya has been our go-to now for a long time because we can rely on the excellent service, the consistent quality of all dishes on their extensive menu (although the grill is my firm favourite) and the relaxed atmosphere once inside the door. Children of all ages are welcomed with open arms by staff and most (if not all) leave with lollipops. On our last visit a week or so ago, we tried the king prawns (a dish that can be ordered as a starter portion or main course) and they were brilliant - substantial but not a 'heavy' dish - and good for the waistline! We like that there is no 'pressure' to order - you can take your time and relax with a glass of something or tea/coffee (the Turkish equivalent is available as well). Now looking forward to our next visit and to trying something else (maybe - or re-ordering my favourites). Enjoy.

Always great food and atmosphere, really love the simplicity of the menu and restaurant, quick service and always look forward to the complimentary bread! Have visited this restaurant as a solo guest and with colleagues, always feel looked after!

We've been there several times. The food is always good and the staff are really friendly, welcoming and just can't do enough for you. We've never had any cause for complaint and the prices are reasonable too. This restaurant is one that is always on our "go back to" list. See you soon Likya.

No problem with the food. Decent portions and well cooked. It’s just they squeeze too many people in and you end up ‘sat’ with others because their table is so close to yours. Might just have been a busy night but it felt uncomfortable.

We often go there as a family to catch up, plus going there with friends. The service & food is always excellent. The manager always makes sure everything is good & nothing is too much.

My Family went to the Resturaunt Saturday at 6, i had booked as it gets busy as the evening goes on. As usual we were given complementary hot bread and dips. Having been many times before ,its difficult to decide

Staff were all smiles when we arrived & left but during our time seated, service was non existent. Worse lamb kleftico ever tasted, lamb boiled to within an inch of it’s life and tasteless.

We are regular customers at Likya in Borehamwood and it always hits the spot. For starters we have small bowls of ztatziki, humus and an amazing aubergine salad. For the main we shared skewers of chicken and lamb with salad. Fresh, tasty food and the baklava and Turkish tea is on the house. Excellent service. We have been going there for at least 10 years.

Have not been to Likya for some time and after going there recently i wondered why I hadn't.I had a delicious stew with buckwheat, the service was great and the bill very reasonable. Must go again.

Likya is ALWAYS my first choice if I’m eating out with friends, the food is outstanding I love the warm, friendly welcome we always get from the staff who always go out of their way to make sure our visits are just as perfect as the one before... I love the friendly atmosphere at Likya, and it’s always spotlessly clean, which makes eating there an amazing experience

We don't live in the area & were visiting before TV studios show. Having passed this restaurant in the evening where it was clearly very busy, I wanted to try it out when next in Borehamwood. My visit was 2 weeks ago.

This is our favourite restaurant in this area - the food is absolutely delicious, the staff are ultra polite and helpful - and they score a top '5' on the Food Standards Hygiene register - cannot get better than that. Four of us went to Likya for my birthday dinner last month and as always, it was great: Our guests had the kleftico and a kebab dish which was served in a bowl with a sauce; I wish I had taken the name of this one as, having tried a taste of it, I would like to order it next time. Having had our meal, 'happy birthday' music started and all the waiters gathered round our table singing and clapping their hands to the music - it really 'made' the evening a bit special: I have seen the restaurant do this for guests in the past and the other diners usually join in as well: Children of all ages love it and they are always offered a lollipop when the leave . Likya deserves its top rating in Borehamwood for quality of food and staff - and long may it continue.

We actually came here twice in september and have been many times before. The bread at the beginning just adds a lovely touch. Mains are very flavourful and also they're very generous with the portion size. Lovely Turkish delights and baklava with the bill are a nice touch. The staff go above and beyond and always make a fuss of my children. If my children like you you're already a winner. Lovely place to take the family. Can't wait to return. This place is consistently good.

We had a very good meal in this popular local Turkish eatery. Even on a Wednesday evening the place was very busy - so, book? Service is a mix of very pleasant and rather grumpy depending, we sensed, on the level of English spoken by waiters; service was a touch slow overall. Really tasty food and generously sized portions; reasonable prices, too.

Came here for my sister's birthday celebration and we were warmly greeted. The manager recommended what to have and we trusted him with the order. By the end, we were stuffed and more than satisfied by the food and service. Can't recommend this restaurant enough by the great, friendly and genuine service/quality all round.

As with all Likya restaurants, one can expect a top notch meal at reasonable prices. Turkish food is tantalising, and the service reflects a customer-oriented approach, which never fails to please.

The ambience is good all the waiters are pleasant and welcoming. The food is fresh and tasty. The proprietor is so welcoming seeing us going there often and loads us with side dishes free of charge that we can't even finish our mains that we have ordered. The aubergines that we ordered were out of this world.

Have not been in this restaurant for a while but the weather has been really good recently and an evening 'al fresco' was calling again: Warm bread arrived - with dips and I cannot resist the chicken wings so they were my first choice: A glass of vino - and I was about to order my main course - when what appeared to be a flatbread 'pancake' style dish was served to a nearby table. I asked about it - and was told it was a Turkish pizza (not always available); not being ultra hungry, I ordered the dish - and it was brilliant; not at all heavy, a 'dusting' of meat but, with a salad - just right for a light evening meal. Our waiter advised us how to eat this 'pizza' which was a new dish to me. I would certainly have it again. This restaurant seems to get more and more popular each time we go - and it is well-deserved: The staff are always cheerful and will tell you anything you need or want to know about the dish you are ordering. They cope mega easily with parties as well as with solo diners and couples - they are well worth the visit and we found it difficult to get up and leave. Still our number one.

Went here for an impromptu team lunch, and they’ve accommodated such a large group with no pre booking with ease and efficiency. Considering our numbers, all our copious dishes arrived piping hot at the same time. Prices are very reasonable for the saporous food and service we’ve received. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

Had a mix doner from likya, and was so looking forward to it and whacked on the so garlic mayo.. to find out this is mint sauce. Doesnt go to well with chilli sauce. Wasnt a bad kebab but wouldnt go for that again.

Best Turkish I’ve had in this country, huge portions, salad maze bread all on the house as well as baklava and tea at the end. Service was fantastic by the lovely Alim. Will definately be back when I’m next in the area.

We have been to Likya, Borehamwood, many a times and have always enjoyed their hospitality and their food.

Visited today with my daughter for lunch. The service was great, the waiter was really friendly. I had a mixed lamb and chicked kebab which was very nice especially the juicy lamb.I will be back.

Visited with some friends for dinner. Been here before and the food is as good as always. Staff very helpful and always smiling. Prices are reasonable for the high quality of food they cook and serve. Would recommend to anyone wishing to go for lunch or dinner. They are open for lunch.

Lovely friendly service. Really nice staff. Starters of dried out pitta bread and not very fresh hummus wasn't great or cheap. The main courses were of good quality. Thought the whole meal was expensive for what it was. Better off going into London where you can get more authentic Turkish cuisine at the same price.

This is the first time that I've had Lamb Spare Ribs. Likya is now my 'go to' restaurant when I'm in the UK.

It is always a pleasure going to Likya. the staff are welcoming. The manager always comes over and greets everyone. The food is very good, succulent lamb and beef, good crispy salads. Immediately you sit down you are brought bread and dips (and not charged) whilst you read the menu. Service is quick and the food well presented.

Definite the best Turkish we have tried, and we've been to three in the last two weeks.

Have been coming since it opened and have never had a bad meal here. Always packed on weekends with a good vibe. The sharing mixed grills are good if your hungry and with people. Great little spot, do take aways too. 👍

We visited for a quick Friday night dinner and were greeted at the door as if we were the best customers they ever had. The place was heaving and noisy and brilliant.

We went on a Friday evening . A very busy restaurant but still managed to get a table within 5 minutes. Straight away warm Turkish bread with mint and chilli sauce landed on our table. Starters - hot sizzling started was very good and tasty. Main course - chicken wings with salad was very tasty. Tender wings just melted in our mouths. Salad was excellent. All in all a very good restaurant and staff very attentive. Will visit again soon.

We went on Saturday as a party of 5 and were lucky to get a table as hadn't booked. The service was excellent and the staff couldn't do more for us. The food was amazing and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We found the bill very reasonable as well. We all enjoyed it that much we went back on the Sunday night as well & it was just as good.

I have only ever had takeaways from here want to eat in soon, little on expensive side but totally worth it.

This is our number one restaurant locally - and it is now the favourite of visiting relatives as well, including two vegetarians and one vegan. Inside there is the 'buzz' of the very many diners with a huge array different and colourful dishes in front of them - but it is now coming up to when you can sit outside again for the 'alfresco' vibe. Our most recent dishes have been Chicken Donner with red cabbage (a new favourite), a re-introduction to the lamb chops with salad (or rice if preferred) - and I had forgotten just how tasty these are, chicken wings - to die for!! We have noticed how many 'copy' restaurants are popping up nearby - but there is only one - Likya - the best and still our no. 1. When we were there, there was a child's birthday party at a nearby table - and to see the joy on a 6-year old's face when the 'happy birthday to you...' started and all the staff (and most of the diners) singing along and clapping at the end - was just great and made our evening. Please enjoy.

This place is great, food is fantastic, beer is served cold and lots of choice of foods from seafood to meats and vegetarian options too! I would recommend this place.

Superb Turkish, very authentic, the Shish is to die for and the lamb chops out of this world, massive portions, a bit rushed but great staff, so very busy but, no wait for the food and thoroughly recommended Great value and you will woddle out

After a very difficult train journey from Norwich to Elstree & Borehamwood on a Sunday, I was exhausted, hungry and rather fed up. I arrived at Likya (which I had found through tripadvisor) and was delighted with the warm welcome and fabulous food!

The service was outstanding. First time for Turkish food, we loved it. Had a sampler dish so got to try a little bit of most items. Absolutely everything was superb. Cannot wait to return.

Reservation for a large group was handled professionally. Meat was good. Starter platters were fine. Service very efficient, though a bit robotic. Plenty of staff but hard to get eye contact when wanting to order extra items.

Used to live in borehamwood and been in this restaurant many times before.i know exactly what I wanted from the menu so we ordered... The pre-starter ( bread -I think is free of charge) came as usual but what a disappointment.. Definitely not fresh, spongy... I remember how good it was before. Than main course arrived... As usual mix grill. Firstly the portion was really small for the price (16 pounds) if I remembered correctly. Bit of rice on the bottom with some mixed meat. ( alot of bones) plus salad.. Previously I struggled to eat it all the time, it was pretty big .. This time feel like a expensive standard portion. Service is exactly the same for many years and they are very polite, friendly etc. However the food was big shock and definitely will go elsewhere next time...

Really nice place to sit and enjoy the food. Customer servc is good. Like their donar kebab and they cook one rice i think its called village rice. Soft drinks are expensive 😩. But as whole it’s thumbs up 👍🏼.

A warm and welcoming restaurant with delicious food. Went there this week with couple of friends. Food was delicious and looked very attractive on plates. Everything fresh and top quality. Mix grill was excellent. Salmon was done to perfection. Mix hot and cold meze to share was a great choice. We were very happy and enjoyed evening with great food and very friendly service. Strongly recommend.

the restaurant overall looks all right, food wise, to be honest had better average food elsewhere, veg moussaka tasted and looked like it has been done days ago, mixed grill all bone and slightly overcooked. Costumer service needs to be improved, we were shocked when manager came over to my boyfriend and first thing he asked what's on his scalp /he got small psoriasis/. Found it a bit odd.

Went today with my partner and her baby. Was very impressed with both the food and service we received. The waitress was really helpful, even being happy to put the babies food into their microwave to heat it up for him. We were never rushed and the prices were realistic and in keeping with the quality of the food and the general ambiance. I will be returning.

Usually have Christmas Dinner with friends but decided to try Likya this year: There was no roast turkey, sprouts, roast potatoes etc., but there were charcoal-grilled meats, chicken, salmon with salads or fries or rice to name but a few items on the extensive menu: A great 'fresh' change from the usual 'heavy' meal that we are used to - and the prices, even on Christmas Day, were exactly what they are for the rest of the year: Amazing: We had been quoted up to £100.00 p/p (including drinks) at some of the chain restaurants and were starting to despair. We had the chicken/lamb shish, chicken wings (how DO they get them so good?) and the grilled salmon, all followed by a lovely banana flavoured ice cream- served in an earthenware pot: To end the meal -Turkish coffee: The best quality food in this area and their staff are brilliant - even when they are obviously under pressure and busy. Nothing is ever too much trouble and, if you have to wait for a table, they usually offer tea - which is usually welcome and a very nice touch. Likya rightly deserves it's place at the top of the restaurants 'tree' again this year.

Bodies on seats is usually a good sign and Likya was no exception. After having a very poor experience at the weatherspoon the night before it was a joy to eat here. For a Thursday evening the place was busy but nothing was to much trouble for the staff and the food excellent, even better you can watch it being cooked on the grill in front of you.
