Lightwater Country Park Cafe in Surrey Heath

Under new management and staff, thank God. Large range available for a smallish cafe. Order taken by a very pleasant person. Breakfast beautifully presented and delicious and very reasonably priced. Coffee also excellent. Homemade cakes too , perfect.

First visit, recommended to me for how quiet it is which suited me taking an 86 elderly family member whos very hard of hearing, understandably isn't quick off the ball and struggles in large crowds, arrived to just 1 customer and 1 staff member...perfect...took our time to look at all the great cakes and decide what we wanted....moved along to the till to order and went down hill from there.... staff member was grumpy and rude in his body language. My elderly lady changed her mind before we even paid or anything being prepared and the attitude of the staff member wasnt great i chose to ignore it..... then she insisted to pay so counted out her pounds for the £10 payment..... slowly due to her arthritis fingers but we was only customers to be served so no mad rush ey......however the staff member see it fit to slump himself on the till as if he'd been waiting 5days, shaking his head, and making no attempt to show patience. given my company i chose not to remark on his attitude but cant say i look forward to being served by you again!!! Smiling and engaging with your customers goes a long way....try it you may find the place fills up a bit!!! Shame as is a nice little location

The day we went was really busy, unfortunately only had one member of staff who was overwhelmed with customers and orders.

This seems to be quite a hit with dog walkers and visitors to the Country Park and lakes. Everyone seemed happy and cheerful - even the dogs were friendly. After a jaunt through the park from Bagshot, we were ready for a cup of tea and a light bite. The light bite turned out to be a very well filled jacket potato with a Moroccan salad filling. Delicious. I would say the only thing we found worth a comment is that the tea cups are more like coffee cups and don't hold much liquid. It would have been nice to have either a larger mug or a refill of hot water. The Earl Grey teabags could easily have delivered a 2nd cup of tea. That would have completely cured our thirst.

They are conscious of their carbon footprint and are going above and beyond a lot of much larger companies to ensure that the products they’re using are environmentally friendly which is a big thumbs up from me. They allow dogs inside and have a small selection of children’s toys. We’ve been a few times and enjoyed it.

My friend and I took our dogs into the cafe after a lovely walk in the park. We were warmly greeted by the staff. Coffee for the humans is great and they even offer Puppichino's for the dogs. Wonderful!

This café is now open in what was the visitor centre and is a welcome addition to the park! Indoor and outside seating and a selection of cakes, pastries, Sandwiches etc.
