Madras was way too hot, more like a vindaloo. Keema rice was far too heavy on the cinnamon, that's all I could taste. But the worst thing was that the onion bhajis were 50% carrot, absolutely disgusting, they went in the bin. Naan breads were amazing though but very small.

always enjoy the great quality food from here , just had the buffet. You choose from the menu, and they bring it all out for you. The lamb balti was excellent.

The oldest curry house in the town and still, for me, the best. This place would be packed years ago, but as local drinking spots have now disappeared, this place is never full, their main trade is now takeaways. The food is second to none and Manik and his staff always make you feel welcome.

The place was dead, for a Friday. They don't pay for spotify which their music lets us know, and menus are a little dated with clipart all over. Otherwise the atmosphere was good, looked good and decorated well. The food was excelent. Food was served in separate bowls on the table with a spoon in each to transfer to your plate. Prices were £1-2 higher per item than on delivery apps which I found very strange. The server seemed nice.

Visited as a group. Place looks deceiving from outside , quite roomy inside . Staff were lovely . Food was amazing , we had the Sunday buffet . Lots of choice of starters which were all lovely , mains there was lots of choice £16 all you can eat.. bargain .once of the best Indians we’ve had

Food was good one curry, rice, starter , side and naan bread was enough to feed two people and take away Currys normally sit on my stomach over night and make me feel bloated this absolutely didn't and I would recommend

Have they changed the chef? I ordered a collection takeaway, Chicken Tikka Masala, Pilau Rice and a garlic naan. I couldn't eat the first one. It main and rice tasted salty. I rang up and spoke to the manager and he said the chef doesn't use salt. I disagree. A replacement was delivered promptly, but again very salty. I had to though it in the rubbish bin. Over 25 years I have ordered from this restaurant. I won't be ordering again until the chef changes.

This place will be our new go to Indian restaurant in London! Food was amazing! The bad thing was…the table was WAY too small for 6 people. The waiter seemed a bit inexperienced. Could have been trying too hard to please us..knocking over wine glasses kind of thing. But, the food was delicious! Their gain, because we loved the food. This was after a VERY bad experience at the Bombay Brasserie😡

Orded tandoori chicken it was on the bone absolutely disgusting hardly had no chicken .£ 26 ? Having a laugh?

This was much better when the food was laid out to help your self. But the food is excellent. Just trying to understand the new system is a bit difficult

Wow one of the most tasteless meals I’ve ordered from just eat, if that wasn’t out the buffet I’m not ginger go the Essenes of spice or the masala instead there ten times better

Absolutely fantastic food. The flavours are far superior to other Indian restaurants in Ellesmere Port. The honey chicken is my personal favourite. The tikka massala is amazing and everything was fresh and hot.

Had delivery from here a number of times. The last time there was quite a bad spillage within the bag. This time we had friends around after telling them how good the food was. There were no poppadoms of which we ordered 4, we did get the dips for them. And there was a large spillage again which soaked through the paper bag. The food was still nice but not sure we'll be getting delivery again. Disappointed 🙁

Curry was very nice however the Cheese Naan had no cheese in it so a little disappointed with that.

If you want a curry night then look no further than the light of India. Never had a bad experience with this place. I always get the chicken madras myself and have always been more than happy with it.

Masala was watery. Soppy and Inedible

Never again. This is the worst takeaway I have ever had. Ordered 2 meals. It took far too long to arrive. One meal was missing and the rest of the food was delivered cold. We rang up the restaurant to sort it out and the woman on the phone was very unapologetic, told us that the food couldn't be cold and that we were wrong. They did send out the missing meal though. The lamb was the worst quality meat I've ever had the misfortune to eat. The only positive was that there were only 5 pieces - not bad for £30! I wish I hadn't bothered.

I think Ryan Reynolds is right. This is the BEST Indian restaurant! My new favourite is the honey chicken starter. I will keep ordering from Light of India. Thank you also to the lovely delivery lady!

Asked for 1 of each type of chutneys in delivery details as the menu options didn't allow you to select different types, got three mango chutneys instead! and it was delivered at 8:40

Onion bhaji and veg curry was very oily Tikka massasla was very runny

The chicken was firm & dry, no onion salad with the poppadoms & the garlic bread was cold & no taste of garlic, great onion barges but arrived cold.

Curry was nice so was the naan only thing I would complain about was the onion Bhajis they were like boulders and rock hard and dry couldn’t eat them

Disappointing was ordering for my birthday meal bhuna tasted more like a stew than a curry madras was not even spicy poppadoms were chewy best thing about it was the rice and onion bhajis and worse thing is it cost £45 won't be ordering there again!

Ordered a takeaway, wasn't told cash only ,have had hundreds of meals all over the country and this was one of the worst ,plenty of food but totally lacking in flavour ,disappointing 😑

Sorry,but I was well disappointed with my takeaway,the onion bhajis tasted like they were deep fried in month old oil,and the tandoori mix grill was so dry you could sand down the doors with it, doubt I'll be visiting again,no where as good as it was in the 80s 90s

Ordered at 19.20. Still no delivery at 21.30. Called at 20.50 and told it had left. Called again at 21.10 and told they were packing it ! Now, they are not answering the phone. Shocking and never ever again will we use these again !

Good due to be delivered 8.25pm to 8.45pm still waiting 9.05pm no update no contact and phone not being answered!! Appalling communication!! Never again!!

Was disappointed with the king prawn speciality to just have king prawns and a tub of veg curry and nothing else for over £14 shocking really. My chicken tikka byriani thought would of come with tikka masala sauce not vegetable curry. Not sure we’re be coming here again

Went for the new format Sunday buffet. We were a party of 11 which included 1 x vegetarian. The food is freshly cooked and everything was eaten, with no waste. Service also spot on as usual.

Really great food from a long established place! , chicken Bangalore is a favourite! a nicely hot curry that actually is as hot as advertised for a change! ( not a disappointing vindaloo with the strength of tikka masala! ) and very nice to taste aswell! 👍

Very small nan bread for 3.50 🙄🙄🤔🤔 and very bad stomach the same night, but I can't get my head arround the 2 inches nan bread for 3.50 first and last time 👌

We were missing a couple items from our order, we had our mains but some of our sides didn't show up, first Time this has happened and we've been coming here for years bit disappointed wouldn't mind but it was an over £50 order

Jalfrazy was too hot chillies chopped into small pieces making the meal too hot to enjoy
