Karai Lounge in Cheshire West and Chester

We've been using Karai for well over 12 months now. The food has always been first class, and staff polite and helpful. The delivery times can sometimes be up to 90 minutes, but we usually get the meal within 1 hour.

This is a takeaway but 👌 such quality, fresh ingredients and so flavoursome. Delicious tasting food. Highly recommend 👌

Ordered a delivery last night at 6.30pm to be delivered at 8.20pm. I naiively assumed ordering in advance would allow for a timely delivery. It got to 9pm and I called them up to ask where my order was and was told it would be at least another 35-45 minutes (so pushing 10pm for delivery). When I asked why, I didn't really get any explanation which was extremely frustrating. Needless to say, not wanting to eat at 10pm, I had no choice but to cancel the order which in itself proved difficult with me having to call them on a number of occasions before they actually authorised the refund. It's a shame because I've ordered from Karai before and the food is very good but due to this experience I won't be ordering from them again in the future.

Ordered food last night and waited over an hour and a half, on arrival it was all cold. Had to microwave it. Not impressed.

they did keep me updated about the delay but unfortunately when you spend a lot of money on a treat, you expect it to not only be on time but atleast hot and tasty, which it wasn't great, but by that time I was starving.

Delivery was fast. Food was excellent! Top notch :)

Probably the best Indian takeaway we've had in Chester! The dishes are packed full with flavour (and we love the added kick to certain ones). Went down an absolute treat, we will definitely be ordering from here again!

Best Indian takeaway in Chester, so glad I found this place lots of others around have gone very poor recently and Karai Lounge have been spot of every time, fresh food, chicken tikka masala was lovely the chicken was juicey, chips fresh made in a clean fryer, rice nice and fluffy brilliant delivery is nice and quick hot food 😀

We have ordered before and it’s gorgeous. This time the poppadoms were burnt, the sauces were different. The food wasn’t hot, I would say the curry and rice were nice. I would order again, hopefully a one off!

delicious chicken tikka massala

I’ve not ordered a curry for several months since moving to Chester, but was so happy to find that my lamb Pathia was pretty spicy and sweet - much better than some I used to order in London. Grew value mixed starter too and I would definitely order again.

Excellent delivery meal tonight. They called to ask if they could deliver a bit earlier than which was great. Food was hot and very tasty. Ordered from here a handful of times now and always really enjoyed it.

Everything was perfect: the packing, the taste, and the portion size. I tried it for the first time, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for Indian cuisine.

Food was tasty but was disappointed not to receive the poppadoms. It meant the kids missed out and the chutneys we purchased were wasted. They were in touch to say food would be delayed so cannot complain about service.

chicken tikka starter seem boiled, not dry as done in a oven not to my taste. madras sauce was tasty but the chicken was a bit tough. I would try again.

Decent curry, tasty rice and good naan. Good amount of chicken in the curry. Not as oily as a lot of take away curries which was great.

Dont bother! Lamb bhuna greasy and chicken tikka masala a poor imitation- tasted like tomato ketchup and coconut water blended together.. onion bajias were a strange combination of onion and something unidentifiable in the middle! In one word. Avoid!

Stated 6.45-7pm, arrived at 7.30pm after calling restaurant twice. Driver apparently went to wrong address, not sure how. Food arrived and was lukewarm. Shame as I use this restaurant often not sure I will in future.

Best Indian food we’ve ever had. First time having Chicken Tikka Masala and its my new favorite dish. All of the items we had were great. Much better than what I have eaten in America. Friendly staff and restaurant was very clean.

Food is average. Didn’t deliver a couple of items. One item was poorly prepared and one lacked seasoning. Rest were okay. There are other better options available in chester for the price. Wanted to find out whether I can order regularly from this place or not? Answer was a no from me. Would I order again? Unlikely.

They never delivered part of our order after being half an hour late. They later delivered the rest 45minutes later with stale poppadoms as a 'sorry'!

First time ordering, will order again. Chicken and mushroom rogan Josh, lamb madras, egg rice. Keema naan and poppadoms. Recommendation for the restaurant, maybe put some tape on the pots for the chutney, the lid came off too easily and we lost a pot.

Very disappointed. Don't normally like giving poor reviews but was warranted on this occasion. We ordered a takeaway to a nearby hotel. We had a chicken tikka masala with garlic nan and a dosa. First for the dosa. Was well made and nice and spicy. No issues on that one. Garlic nan were doughy and average at best. As for the tikla masala. It would have been better to heat up a tin of Heinz tomato soup. It would have tasted way better. Our tikka masala had a very odd sort of orangy fluorescent colour to it. I stated on the order page that I wanted a "spicy style" chicken tikka curry amd again reiterated "SPICY". Instead we got an EXTREMELY sweet chicken tikka curry and some sort of coconut cream which completely excessive. Not like the curries we are used to. Terrible.

Good, Food was lovely. They forgot the starters, but I called the shop and they were back with the starters in about 10-15 mins.
