The staff at this restaurant are so lovely - they went above and beyond on many occasions while we were there. They were so welcoming. Great atmosphere too, and some vegan options. Good view of the sea out the window!

First visit and it's a lovely place. Friendly welcoming staff. Seating could be improved a bit. Mostly wooden seats or benches. (Small quibble) could be a bit more comfy. Food. I had the calamari to start as did 2 of my friends. Very under seasoned but nicely cooked. Read previous reviews and thought I try the ravioli as it's not my normal go to. It was absolutely delicious!!! Bolognaise filling, in a sage butter sauce. Would come back just to have that again. We did have a slight issue with being a table of 6 one of us got up to go to the bathroom and being a pedestal table it tipped up as it was leaned on to get up causing a domino effect of wine glasses etc and a few wet clothes. All that said, I would still go back, we had a lovely time, nice food and wine and good service. Just think feedback is useful as always room to improve. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Absolute top night. Diavola and anchovie pizzas are winners. Ask for a wine recommendation and you’ll get something matched to your meal. Every table was full but service was slick and attentive and we were guided on wait times. Will be back.

Came across this online whilst staying in Sandgate abd really enjoyed. Relaxed but great service, it was a cold night but they gave us the most welcoming service they could. Sommelier was great and had a good atmosphere. The pizzas were enjoyed, as was the puttanesca. Would recommend booking and will return.

First time here, very happy with good, friendly service, lovely garlic bread, very tasty pizzas and pasta washed down with decent beer. A nice setting as well. Will aim try on a warm summer's evening.

Spontaneous early Saturday evening booking, because we fancied proper Italian Ravioli - and boy were we delighted! Delicious ox cheek ravioli in sage butter sauce was spot on. Great starters of calamari and arancini - genuine Italian flavours that reminded us of our visits to non touristy Italy. Good wine selection and unostentatious surroundings. Maria was excellent

We went out with friends to try this new restaurant as it had great reviews and we were not disappointed. Excellent authentic Italian food simply prepared with best ingredients.

This was a great place for a family supper as there was something to suit all ages. Good menu and wine list. Service was OK. Portions are very generous! One garlic bread did 5 of us! My spaghetti putanesca was delicious. Will return.

Rustic ambience in the restaurant inside which gives a welcoming feeling. The outside tables and chairs are solid and comfortable. There is a beautiful sea view. Whilst the Menu at this time was limited to pasta and pizza (one chicken dish available) the food was very tasty and the wines excellent. It was good value for money. I understand that the owners will be expanding the menu in the coming months and I look forward to that, although my family and I will definitely be visiting in the meantime!! Really impressed with the wine menu. One would expect this from owners who have a history in the wine trade. I chose the Barone di Serramarrocco white which complimented both the Diavolo pizza and pasta dishes we enjoyed. The staff were friendly and were keen to ensure the visit was a good one. Overall good food, good value and good atmosphere.

Bit of an impromptu lunch visit. Lovely location right on the sea front we were lucky with the weather and sat out side with the dog. Very friendly staff and lovely fresh food. We started with mussels to share then a lovely fresh Tuna pizza and calamari all washed down with a lovely local sparkling white wine. Definite thumbs up and will definitely go back with friends

Beautiful pasta, we had it delivered and the delivery was very quick. Can say I’ll be ordering again!!

It is hard to find anything to criticise about this restaurant. We enjoyed a clear view of France across the English Channel from our table. The white wine (Inzolia) from Sicily was wonderful Our first courses of calamari were excellent The second courses of Pizza Acciughe was perfect Neapolitan pizza The background music was cool jazz The service was impeccable This is as good as it gets Mia mamma era Italiana, dovrei saperlo !

Service was great. Drinks were lovely. Children’s pizza was huge, probably too big. We had a pasta dish and it was delicious!! Just wish there was more. We came with 3 toddlers who are still in nappies and unfortunately there’s no changing station. It ended up having to be 2 people to change 1 toddler as we didn’t want to lay our children on the bathroom floor. Prices for everything is very reasonable. Great view, staff & atmosphere.

Was looking forward to a relaxed family dinner and went with high expectations having visited in the summer and sat outside on the terrace. It’s clear there is work to do, and I support the owners aspirations but it’s not there yet. The lights kept flickering because they didn’t use dimmable bulbs, one chair was broken, a knife was dropped in to one of our laps by the waitress, service was slow and one of our tables was positioned so that when a corner was leant on it violently tipped causing a full glass of wine to spill over. A meek apology but nothing else. The food was okay. Great potential but not a great experience.

Lovely coffee, wine and pizza here, great staff. So glad this hotel has reopened, it is a lovely place to sit and look at the sea. The pizza was amazing, the staff attentive, absolutely recommend a visit.

Pizzas and pasta were good. Still finding it’s feet. eg no printed dessert list and struggled to cut pizza dough with knives provided Promising though..,,

beautiful place with huge potential! pity for the owner who is a dishonest person for the rest the manager is a serious person, the pizza menu is not the best I would say, without many classic pizzas but with the addition of too many other pizzas that not even an Italian can recognise. The pizza is definitely good, not as exceptional as they say. Pasta menu is hilarious, all fettuccine! without dishes to offer to celiacs.

Ignore the negative reviews. This is a new venture so they are clearly starting with a soft approach. The pizza and pasta dishes were excellent and a very good choice of toppings. The wine list is very good and reasonably priced especially the house wine. The service is excellent. Also went for coffee and very good.

Really enjoyed our meal here. I had cannelloni while my husband had a pizza, accompanied by some good wine. Would definitely go back again.

I took my friend's and family here for my birthday meal, I live only 3 doors down and I had been really rooting for this new business venture right on my doorstep. I took with me 3 of my other neighbours to try out the Italian delights that are a stones throw away in our idyllic Sandgate. The food sadly wasn't as your mumma used to make but more likened to what your son at uni would make. The bruschetta (my all time fav) was so bland, it was just chopped tomatoes on toast, not one member of our group (12) was left satisfied. Beer was served in cans!! I appreciate that's it's a local beer but I'm sure there are better ways to serve it then just plonking a can on the table. Such a shame as we all had such high hopes and really wanted to support our local restaurant. Sadly we won't be rushing back.

After hearing there was new ownership at the restaurant at The Sandgate Hotel we thought we'd check it out. We ordered the Spaghetti Putanesca & two pizzas (the Parma & the Lido Special) to take away and collected them ourselves as they're in the process of getting set up on Just Eat, etc. The spaghetti was absolutely delicious and packed with flavour. The pizzas were very good, traditional Italian style (very thin base with a good amount of toppings). It was a genuinely tasty and satisfying meal which I'd recommend to anyone. The thing that made it really special was the fantastic customer service we received whilst placing our order. It made my heart glow and made us feel really valued. We will definitely be ordering again and look forward to eating in the restaurant in the near future.

Served glass of wine that was off as had been opened too long. Tables dirty not covered more bistro style, menu limited to pizza and pasta Only 4 Starter choices and 2 had Garlic bread! No garnish at all with orders Trying to make allowance that this is newly opened restaurant.

So very delighted to have an excellent traditional Italian food restaurant in the area. And the views are to die for! Lovely family owned and operated, knowledgeable Sommelier also. Friendly and attentive service. It's so wonderful to have a proper restaurant take over this location that was formerly Sandgate Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed pizza and pasta and a bottle of wine. We will be regulars!
