First place I visit when I am back in town. There really is nothing to fault about this place. Tastes are amazing, big portion sizes and all served with a smile, what more could you ask for? Only downside is they’re not open everyday but it feels a bit unfair to mark them down for that.

Awesome food served by lovely people! Came for the first time on Friday and can’t wait to go back. Ignore the review below - bones are key to flavour, and the oxtail was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I didn’t see if there was an option to add fresh scotch bonnet or pepper sauce - but I hope so! Well done everyone!

i PAY ALMOST £9 FOR A LITTLE PLASTIC TUPPERWARE packed with rice and a couple of pieces of oxtail, their friday 'special' I get home , it's almost only bones, ...and rice. Hardly any meat. I am left hungry. They're shut the next four days Keep HUGE bones in fridge and politely approach them next time. Unapologetic, unreceptive ''thanks very much '' says the guy with a smirk . ''well you come here almost one wek later´(says the woman) I reply stating they had been closed ´thatś not what im saying .., what im saying is you should have taken a picture for evidence´ (me thinking , well you served it ,you know the size of the rice serving. Here is the tupperware and the HUGE bones. DO THE MATH!!!) '' well you come here with just bones'' EXACTLY , JUST BONES , I think . AWFUL EXPERIENCE. NEVER AGAIN. I've been going for years. The jerk chicken is the best I've had and the curry goat too. Ackee and saltfish also good. Can't believe it has anything other than 5 stars, ok the queue is pretty long if you go early but that's not due to "lazy staff" they work very hard its due to the food being so popular. Only place I've ever liked coleslaw, i hate the stuff but theirs makes the jerk wrap

Girls who work here think they’re prestige lol audibly b*tching about someone in the queue. Hurry up and bag my food there’s bare people waiting. Swear it takes 1 person to prep food and 2 people to watch. The guy who works here is fully carrying the staff man needs a pay rise. Can’t lie the food bangs though.

Had this for lunch today and my partners first time having curry goat. We then ordered from a different Caribbean shop and it wasn’t the same. You’ve set the bar high. Lovely meat, banging rice and peas, the potato’s and veg were amazing. The queue was very long and that says it all. Best Caribbean food I’ve ever had. Will be coming back.

I see people walking past this great little food van on their way between the supermarket car park and Hove's main shopping streets and I wonder how many of them have never stopped to buy - they're missing a treat if they haven't, although the length of the queues prove that enough people are in the know. Maybe it doesn't look much. Yes, it's just a van, and the food comes in plastic containers with plastic cutlery if you need it and there are only a couple of places to sit and eat nearby, so if you're not taking it home or back to the office then maybe the beach is the best bet. But most important, the food is taaaasty! I could live on the stewed chicken with peas and rice. The clientele is varied and there are plenty of regulars to judge by the chat between them and the staff, who are great and very friendly. They say the prices have gone up, but I paid £7 for lunch today, which didn't seem too bad (I can't remember what it was before) and it was as good as ever and the portions are huge. The meat/rice balance is perfect. Try it!

Come here often for lunch - if you're planning on this then try get there early or late as the queues can be quite long. Food is amazing! All cooked fresh, tastes delicious and price is very good for what you get.

I have been coming to this van for years. You can’t fault the food one bit. Tastes home made, it’s proper food 😋 People have tried to imitate but failed miserably. The girls are friendly, always have a little chat. Curry goat is my fave. I think the coleslaw ingredients has changed in the last few months. Sure it never had white pepper in before. I’m not moaning it’s still great. The second venue in the snooker hall is just as yummy.

Honestly hands down its the best in brighton,i coukd eat it every since day. it's always perfect. staff are always friendly an always very busy, just shows you how in demand this place is. I want a restaurant from them so I can eat all day an night! 5 star all day long

I love it all here, I eat up and down the country on my travels and this little hut at the bottom of tesco car park is delicious, patties! Tick. Dumplings! Tick tick, (you get two of them) rice and peas! Yes please, akee and saltfish! Pass me that dish. Curry goat! Now my tummies on the bloat. RECOMMEND TO ALL WHO ARE HUNGRY

Food OK and reasonably priced and team who run the place are great but it's not Notting Hill Carnival quality. Sometimes the queues can be quite long which shows how popular it is.

You gotta try it, its just really good, delicious food. Not even a huge fan of generic jerk but this is a slightly westernised version and my mouth is watering as i write this

usually i get a parking ticket while waiting in the queue but trust me its worth it the food is sooo food. I am foody and picky eater,i give this takeaway 10/10. Its not only about the food the service is good as well, i come brighton twice a week for work and every morning when i wake up i think about the LUNCH.

I was waiting in the que the other day and there was a man being so rude to Samantha who works there al the stuff are so lovely and friendly always have a smile on there face rude customers don't need to take it out on friendly staff when there having a bad day

Licklemore were low on food (towards the end of their trading day) so I ordered a jerk chicken and white rice meal, with extra jerk sauce. It looked very pale and watery compared to their normal jerk chicken dish. I got home and the sauce tasted like diluted 'peppery pale' water, it completely spoilt my meal. Texted Licklemore immediately. They did not bother to respond or acknowledge my text.

Some of the best Jamaican food cooked to perfection outside of Jamaica, I was super surprised of how much this food is like back home all the flavors just dancing on my tase buds each bite , I’ve tried elsewhere whilst in England and none compares to lickle more

Tried it one never again!.... see the woman that runs it every morning in Tesco buying the cheapest chicken they have in there that i wouldn't feed my dog with... Generic flavours nothing like you'd get in jamaica total crap throw away food.... Bless it up cheap skates

The jerk chicken wrap was really tasty and had a good amount of spice. A great place to have a cheap eat in Hove. Will be back.

This place is one of those hidden gems - whenever I go past there’s always a queue and for good reason!

This food truck is fantastic! I've had the curry goat with rice and peas which is the best I've ever had and I've tried this dish many times! Perfect spicing and generous portions. Also the Jerk wrap tastes as good as it smells, cooked on a proper jerk barrel bbq drum next to the food truck. Get some fried dumplings too! So good.

Shame as this was hands down the best spot for Caribbean in the city. Unfortunately completely let down by the lazy staff. All they do is stand around talking when theres 30 people to serve. You do the same menial task every day so why is it you become increasingly slower at it? Infuriating as the foods great but I can spend my whole lunch hour waiting whilst they chat to their mates rather than serve me then 3 people try and serve me at once because none of them have paid attention to the others having already asked.

I've walked past this place many times over the years and finally did so at a time when I was looking for something to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the jerk chicken with rice 'n' peas I had was really excellent, and such good value too. I will definitely go back.

I sometimes come down from London just to get lunch here. Their food is perfect, coleslaw so good it changed my entire outlook on how coleslaw should be made. The way they do their chicken is so good. The seasoning is again perfect. Please never change, there is a reason you have people lined up every day waiting for the perfect meal.

Stopped here for a lunch several times now and they never disappoint. Be prepared for a wait on a busy day but it's well worth it!

Excelente pollo Jerk muy bien cocinado arroz y guisantes, deliciosa ensalada de col y el más sabroso rabo de no mencionar el buñuelo frito.

No juzgues un libro por su portada, parece un pequeño aperitivo de la carretera van, pero brinda un gran sabor auténtica comida del Caribe a un precio muy razonable. Yo tenía un enrollado de pollo adobado con arroz y guisantes una era de £4. 50. Un montón de pollo, lleno de sabor. El personal era muy amable. Sin duda visitar de nuevo la próxima vez que esté visitando Hove.

Have walked past on many an occasion. But so pleased we stopped this time. I was with my boys (7&9), they were starving, food smelt good, so we went for it! The jerk chicken is fantastic! The spiciness was such that it made my eyes water as well as my nose! And the boys absolutely loved it! I'd recommend the jerk chicken with rice and peas. Yummy. One of my lads had this with plain rice instead and the other one had a wrap - which was entirely full of jerk chicken.If you want to go a bit less spicey you can just have less sauce.

I love this place and cannot rate it enough. A regular lunch time favourite, its well priced and immensely tasty. Try the jerk chicken wrap / burrito and the chicken, rice and peas - this food is to die for. Tip - get there early as there are queues up the street as the food is sooooo good. Thanks Lickle More

Visit here sometimes on a Friday for lunch and everytime the food is amazing. I usually go for one of the Jerk Chicken Wraps but today opted for the Jerk Chicken Main which is served with Rice & Peas and Coleslaw. The meal was as usual top quality and the value for money is also excellent. The portion size is very good and the main meal will be enough to see me through the rest of the day. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. If you are going down on a Friday they start serving @ 12:00 but there is always a queue so be sure to get there early.Highly recommend you try this!

Firstly, I would've written this review a long time ago if I'd have known that they had a TripAdvisor page.Anyway, my word, how good is this food?Sensational! I cannot stress this enough, I had never tried jerk chicken before trying this, for some reason despite walking past so many times and loving the smell, I just hadn't... anyway, since trying I've had the jerk chicken rice and peas, jerk chicken wraps and the banana bread (a must)I hope that one day, if their plan is to, that they open a restaurant or cafe because the food is there to be enjoyed!Go try it, you won't regret it!

Fantastic caribbean food. When I lived and worked in London I used to eat at the Caribbean outlet tucked away in the food hall above Covent Garden market. This was a welcome reminder the food. I thought it was shut down but found out they are on holiday at the moment so looking forward to their return to tuck into some more Jerk Chicken. It is popular at lunch time so be prepared to queue.

If ever in Hove for lunch go here. All the food is great, especially the curried goat or jerk chicken which is amazing. There can sometimes be a queue but only becuase it's so damn good and extremely popular. If you get the chance go. You won't be dissapointed

This place is ideal, I order in advance as I pick up on my lunch break, food is yummy, fresh,and healthy, and owners nice and welcoming.

Walked past this van many many times before and always thought the cooking smells were great! Stopped at last yesterday with a friend. We both had a chicken jerk wrap, which we bother agreed was delicious and priced correctly at £3.50. Only criticism was a long wait. Apparently you can call them and pre book. I will stop again sometime.

Slow service, they need to get moving especially at lunch times. Also it would help if they found a way to screen customers from the heavy cooking smoke, perhaps request that queues are formed on the other side. Finally letting their customers know when menu items have run out in order to avoid lengthy waits in the queue for nothing, otherwise all is good.

Wonderful curry goat: succulent and tender, with spicy sauce, rice and peas and beetroot coleslaw. Great value at £5.00. Nice people, too. Highly recommended.

What i find. Stopped off for bit of shopping in the area and met a friend here on her lunch break. She introduced my there goat curry and purple slaw. Wow, out of this world. I have since been several times and simple cant tell enough people about this place. Portions are amazing and how is this purple slaw made its just sooo super tasty.You will not be disappointed.

This has been a regular lunch favourite for months, but very recently the portions have got smaller and smaller ending up today with even the Coleslaw pot halving in size! Please say this is not gonna be a local hotspot being dragged down by its own success! The food tastes great, but standards have slipped.NOT GOOD

Wowza, what a place. They need a venue.... I would go and eat in the evening if they did but instead i have to take my goat curry home and re-heat which is just terrible.This place, what a gem. You must, must, must take a trip out of Brighton get off the bus at George Street, Hove and ask for this van. I am sure everyone will know it. It is super worth it. The purple coleslaw is sensational and comes as an accompaniment with the curry. I must get a curry from here at least every 10 days and is a bargain.

Use this place frequently.The curried goat is excellent, great flavour, The Jerk chicken is also very good, as is the salt fish and ackee.You get rice or rice and peas with all the mains plus home-made coleslaw if you want.Really generous portions too. They also do a range of patties and wraps.Astounding that a little van can produce such good food.Can't wait for them to expand into a permanent venue - it will be a hit.

Lickle More is a Caribbean run food van between George Street and Tesco - and it is absolutely delicious. The van has been here for a few years and well known in the Afro-Caribbean community. Goat curry is delicious, and everything. Very good portions. During the summer, you can eat your takeaway on tables just outside the van. Freshly made food and always open when I pass. Definitely worth visiting if you're passing by!

Lovely fast food food ,friendly staff and well centrally placed in Hove makes it impossible for anybody to ignore.I was so impressed with the curry goat and Jerk chicken wrap,and the oxtail stew makes my mouth water just thinking about it.One has to take a trip down there and you will not regret it.It's all affordable and parking is no problem...so get down there quick.

After a long drive collecting a friend from the airport coming in from Tobago we called in at Lickle more as I rave about this place ! Well they have not disappointed we had goat curry rice and peas and jerk chicken and i felt like i was in heaven early lunch never tasted so good !! The staff are all so lovely and helpful you wouldn't find a nicer bunch ! Don't walk on by try and you will be a Caribbean convert ! Two thumbs up ten stars and a great big yum !!

I rave about this establishment to my family (living in London), when mum visits I make sure I order her some food. I purchase a mains dish from this establishment 3 Saturday's a month without fail. You have the option of ordering mains dishes in advance because the food can sell out quick. The staff are super friendly. They automatically know who I am every time I call to place an order. The food is delicious and more importantly it's not too hot. The food caters to all tastes. There are often long queues outside the establishment. I often order curried goat which is delicious. I have tried most dishes, they are all as tasty as each other. The jerk chicken wrap is awesome too and is definitely worth a try during lunchtime. The food is excellent value for money and the portions are more than reasonably sized. This establishment has been a God send and I do look forward to eating my food. This establishment is a definite must for any person passing through Hove.

This place has the most incredible, authentic food and the most lovely, friendly and genuinely pleasant staff. Could not fault it at all, the atmosphere and food provided is the best...the vegetarian curry is my personal fave.

Jerk chicken was well cooked/bbq'd but I'd like spicy/heat and flavour in the meat. There was none. £5.00 buys one piece of chicken and rice so I don't think that's great value for money. The festival could've been sweeter too. I'd ordered in advance but still had to wait half an hour for the food. It's best to get there around 12.00 as they can run out of food quickly. Jamaican food is one of my favourites, but this place left me underwhelmed. I've heard good things about the curried goat and stew so may give it a try, or else just make my own.

E non dimenticate di chiedergli l'insalata russa fatta da loro che è SPECIALE :DFino a qui tutto bene, ma come cominciate a mangiare cominciano i problemi :1) la carne è fatta a pezzi con un coltellaccio, quindi state attenti ai residui di osso che potete trovarci dentro (ho rischiato un dente).2) essendo cucina caraibica è tutto molto speziato e soprattutto piccante, quindi a chi non piace lasciate perdere e andate da un'altra parte.3) il fatto che TUTTI i piatti siano speziati uccide le vostre papille gustative e quindi anche il buon gusto che sentivate all'inizio è svanito in un bel ricordo...

The food here is very good, generous and good value at £5 i think for all main dishes with rice. Jerk chicken is nice, oxtail on friday is great (but a bit tricky / messy to eat). I like goat curry, but I'm not sure if they do use goat or whether it's actually mutton. Either way it's very nice. The guys who run the place are very nice and friendly and seem very hard working. Service is always quick and they are always busy at lunchtime.Recommended.

I've heard a lot about this place & for nearly half a year I've been meaning to try it out.Its so nice to see some West Indian food places in Sussex as to me it's a "Lickle More" of home from home. Yesterday presented an opportunity for me to get there & try some food. The queue was long & constant which lead me to believe that the food must be good. Finally go to the front & ordered Curried Goat with Rice & Peas but they only had plain rice left. Anyway this came with some amazing looking purple coloured Coleslaw & I had a can of Ting. OMG the half year wait was well worth it as the food was so tasty & the goat was so nice & soft. SO, today I'll be going back for round two. I might put a phone order in so I can get the Rice & Peas before they sell out.Hey, keep it up & fly that flag for West Indian Food Booooooo Yahhhhhhh.

For a little food van off George Street, this place is the best. Food is tasty, just so so so tasty! It's its a bargain at a huge box of food for £5, but I always get the plantain as it's only a quid and cooked fresh. The staff are friendly too!Found this place now I will always go back, even though I work 20 minutes away, rain or shine, it's really worth it.

The only Caribbean worth going to in the area. Been here many many many times and always had a hot, fresh, tasty, big meal. Service is super friendly and portions are enough to keep you full all day! Gets very busy during lunch time so make sure you get there early to avoid the queues! Can't wait to go back!

This really was a great find. Not quite a hidden gem as it is close to a large supermarket (well placed). It's a mobile kitchen, but they have some seating on the pavement - doesn't matter - eat on your feet in true Jamaican style. The food is fantastic - recommend the oxtail stew and the patties. Prices are very good and the staff are lovely. If you're in George Street pop round the corner & check it out :-)

Tucked away, between George Street and Tescos car park, lies this fast food van and outdoor barbeque, serving jerk chicken, fish ackee and curry goat with rice and peas, coleslaw or plain rice, plus patties and wraps. Simple, fresh and very, very tasty. It is run by a team of friendly, hard working youngsters who keep pace with the ever growing queues of hungry, salivating punters. It's so good, we keep going back! Beat the queue by phoning in your order.

The great food and friendly service make this 'shack' just perfect.Two downsides. They cook from fresh daily, so once it's gone, it's gone (get there early before the lunchtime rush). The other downside is that it should be a restaurant - hope the owners make enough so that it will happen.

Wow...this is amazing food cooked by Chef Keven.THe food is just out of this world,so tasty,delicious and authentic Jamaican.My favourite is the Jerk chicken wrap ,so amazing...and ive never tasted anything like that before.You ought to try the curry goat,oxtail stew and salt fish fritters...the latter you need to place the order a few hours before picking up..Its all amazing and looking forward when they decide to open a carribean restaurant in Hove or Brighton.So common guys go there and try these tasty foods served by the helpful and friendly staff and you will never regret it and bring along your family and friends.

I absolutely love carribean food and to have it pretty much on my doorstep is amazing, the food is always amazing. Me and my daughter go regular for stewed chicken and rice, but you can't beat a jerk chicken wrap on the run. Defo the best carribean food around

I work just up the road, in a customer based environment and a lot of people ask me "Where should I go for food?" ...I never hesitate. Lickle More is by far the best Caribbean Kitchen in Brighton and Hove adding a little extra to our thriving community. Great Reggae vibes, great people and of course, great food! What's that? You don't like spicy food? Well, Lickle more caters for your needs and adds/takes away spiciness to your request. In conclusion, Lickle More has become the heart of George Street, adding amazing smells and vibes to the surrounding area.

I'm so glad myself and my partner decided to stop here for lunch! The smells wafting up George street were amazing, and seeing a massive queue we thought we just had to try! We were not disappointed! I had a jerk chicken wrap with homemade coleslaw whilst my partner sampled the curry goat with rice and peas! My wrap was out of this world with just the right amount of spice and the coleslaw complemented the jerk chicken really well! My partner was beyond happy with his curry goat and couldn't wait to tell his work mates all about it! We will definitely be returning! We were told in Wednesday's they have a vegetarian special and on Fridays they have a brown stew oxtail special which sells out really quickly! Both sound amazing!

My partner and I love the food from Lickle More. It has always been delicious when we've had it whether it's the yummy Jerk chicken, stews or curry goat, you cant go wrong. Lovely staff and tasty, affordable food! Hurry up and open a restaurant so we can have your food for dinner as well as lunch!
