Looking to join a local tennis club so hired a court for an hour one afternoon on a sunday as a guest for my son and I to try it out. Sadly not a good experience. Booking over the phone and initial reception good but on the court we were next to a group of 4 mature men playing a doubles game. My son and I have played for a number of years and are relatively competent players however any time our ball went wide and across their court we were given some pretty nasty looks (despite the fact that we had to return a number of their balls over the hour). I gave my son some tips and a bit of instruction and heard a number tuts and huffs directed our way when I did despite the fact that we heard some pretty colourful language from their court for which we received no apology given that my son is only 9 years old. To be honest it was a very uncomfortable hour and although my son and I did our best to enjoy our game we were made to feel extremely unwelcome by the four men on the other court, who it appeared to me were mature members who didn't like children playing, despite the fact that it is advertised as a family friendly club. When we left the court at the end of our game two of the men looked at us, shook their head and tutted again - I couldn't believe it.As we left the club I decided to mention their behaviour to the young girl on receptio, particularly because my son commented on the men's language, plus I thought she might be as surprised and disappointed as we were. Instead her response suggested it was endemic - she said their attitude and language was because they were playing a game. I suggested that surely the club frowns on that behaviour and she said nothing. I asked if she could feed this back to the management as it has certainly put us off considering joining and she pretty much said and did nothing. So sadly this is not the club for us which is a real shame because on the surface it looks fab, but I think they have some work to do on making it family friendly.

Letchworth tennis club is a great place to go as a family, to play tennis and then eat later too. Lovely environment and friendly staff, and family feeling. I have been to some parties here too which were really fun!

I met a friend who is a member at this club for coffee cake and a catch up today.I had never been to this club/cafe before as i hadnt known it was even there. What a lovely place it is. The coffee is absolutely lovely, i am quite fussy when it comes to coffee but this did not disappoint. I also had chocolate cake which when bought with the coffee triggers a deal both for £3.50. This is from what i could see a members club but it is open to the public. The staff at the club were both friendly and helpful. Also the food that i saw being served looked gorgeous too and having looked at the menu the selection was quite varied and very cheap.Definitely worth a visit i will be going for lunch next time!

A small, busy café tucked away behind an industrial estate—an unusual, frankly awful location. Despite this, the decorations create a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The serving system is strange. You queue up to place your order (in my case, a simple latte), pay, and then take a seat. However, the clear bottleneck in this process is that there appears to be only one barista and one person taking orders—who then double as the same staff delivering drinks to tables. Perhaps the issue was more noticeable because I visited during a busy period, but it still seems like an easily fixable problem. The wait time from ordering and paying to actually receiving my coffee was 12 minutes—pretty excessive for something so simple. As for the coffee itself, it was fine. Not too bold, not too bland—palatable for the general consumer. If you're after specialty coffee, this might not be the place for you. Overall, it's a reasonably priced and pleasant café with an odd serving process and a terrible location. But once you're inside with your coffee, it’s... just fine. 4★

The moment you step through the door, you're get a warm welcome and lightning-fast service. The best coffee in Royston! Breakfast/Brunch menu is all about quality ingredients done well. The eggs benedicts are out of this world. It's relaxed, baby-friendly, spent many mornings here. What's not to love? An easy 5 stars!

Stylish and cozy interior. Food was perfect; I would highly recommend the Dauphinoise. Very much enjoyed the seating being able to watch the chef’s put together the tasty dishes too. Well worth the money.

Saturday night - gladiators on the tv at a loud volume. Then they played one song then flipped channels to a royal documentary on C5 , loudly. Then put on music......one song. Back to C5. No one wants C5, even at home!
