We wanted food, the sign outside said Sunday lunches 2-8pm. It was about 1:50. Went in, the lights were out and told we are closing. So no food or anything else!

Landlord was super friendly and welcoming our room was clean and inviting for a super price. The bar was welcoming but unfortunately, as like most smaller pubs, was quiet which is unfortunate as the landlord is a welcoming chap as is the staff who work with him would have loved to try the food but having my 6 year old who got hungry on our journey down was forced to stop en route but maybe next time.

Arrived much later than our planned 2330 hrs time but still received a warm welcome. Managed to find a space for our bicycles too. A comfortable bed and organised facilities. It would be good to stay a bit longer next time. Bring ear plugs - it is in the middle of Dover.

Done the job for us and the two guys that let us in and kept us right were spot on. We would stay again

(Chinese review) I spent Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day here in 2023 because the ferry was suspended. It's a building with a sense of the times. The owner is humorous and very enthusiastic. He always says hello every day when we meet. The hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the city hall and very close to the train station, pier, castle and beach. The 1st floor is a pub, the 2nd floor is a 6-bed dormitory for men and women, and the 3rd floor (I guess) is a family room. The bed is very soft and comfortable. The public toilet and shower room are also very clean. I think the water temperature is just right. The room is a bit cold but it's okay to cover it with a quilt. It is true that there are cases where the speakers in the pub disturb guests while they are resting, as mentioned in the reviews, but it is very quiet at midnight. There is a smell as mentioned in the reviews, but it is much smaller after cleaning. Of course, because the price is very low, the quality of the roommates there may vary, but because there are locked cabinets, safety is still guaranteed. The boss is a mechanical and military fan, and there are many messages across the English Channel on the roof of the pub. Good value for money and overall good reviews. If you stay for a short stay of 1-2 days, it is still recommended. I look forward to having a drink in the pub next time I come to Dover.

Lovely and clean hostel with seperate bedrooms for men and women. Free use of lockers. Cozy bunkbeds with curtains for privacy. The city center and castle are within walking reach. If you're seeking for an affordable place to stay for the night, this is a good choice.

Les is a gent! It's a very clean, organised location. You wouldn't think it's a hostel - relaxed and quiet night with the most comfortable you'll ever sleep on

No nonsense accomodation very clean Mr Fleurs is very welcoming. The property is of Victoria style cosy and all you need at a very reasonable price. Shower/ toilet facilities are segregated into male female which my girlfriend really appreciated. We will return.

Stayed in the hotel. Very helpful people. Had to have a family room with shared bathroom as everywhere was booked. Pleasantly surprised how clean and tidy everything was. Expected more of a hostel vibe.

Amazing staff and atmosphere. Pop in for a few pints if you're ever in Dover. There's also a lovely hostel on site if you want to visit the area.

Nice place..nice people…froze my balls off in the room as I have in every hotel I’ve stayed in since I’ve been since arriving in Europe..these people are going to be in a lot of trouble when global warming kicks in for real..not sure about the neighborhood..some 17 year old tried to pick a fight with me .

Didn't visit the bar, just stayed at the hostel above. Here I was warmly welcomed and shown around. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and private with a curtain. Each bed had its own lamp but unfortunately no socket. There were sockets distributed in the room. There was fast free WiFi throughout the house. The bathroom was big and clean. Overall I had a wonderful undisturbed stay. I can only recommend!

Great oldy worldy pub with a large selection of beers and quirky decor. You won't find a better Guinness in Dover.

We turned up for a ritual wall signing for the cross-channel swimming nutters and enjoyed a few excellent pints of Whitstable beers. There is a hugely eclectic selection of items decorating the walls including a small military shrine. Good atmosphere with well-kept beer, what else is required of a decent boozer?

Great accommodation with great facilities. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend. Even a cheekie meal while there. You are made to feel at home.

Lively friendly pub, a proper drinking pub. They don't serve food but I arrived on a darts match night so the landlord haf laid on pizza & they generously invited me to tuck in. I'd already eaten but it was a much appreciated gesture. The hostel was pretty good, generous sized bunk beds with clean sheets & a curtain for privacy. The shared bathroom shower was a good size & clean. As a place to catch a few hours kip before catching a ferry it was perfect, especially considering the price. Great value, definitely would use again.

Very good and cost efficient. Would have got 5 stars but the hot water tap was stuck on scalding in the shower (but I suspect that will be easy for the landlord to fix).

A proper traditional English pub, some fantastic decor and military memorabilia not to mention signatures all round the pub of people that have swam the channel. Great selection of beers, wines and spirits. Staff are absolutely first class and literally couldn't do enough for me. Also worth noting they have hostel type accomodation here. Pay this place a visit people!!

A proper town pub, specialises in gins...

I have never actually been in here, but regularly walk past. The music is varied (night dependant) which is refreshing. They have had karaoke nights, which have looked like everyone was having a great time. Only downside I can mention, just from what I've seen, is that the outside is rarely cleaned/tidied. For example, the same drinks can was there for 4days, I think, till it was finally picked up.

This pub is untouched by the commercial pubs in the area. It has an olde worlde feel, has some great Beers and Lagers, and a vast selection of Gin Great Entertainment a the weekend and cheap accommodation for £27 a night.

Warm and friendly welcome from the landlord who opened his doors to us for an impromptu wedding reception when there was an issue with our planned venue. Many thanks for turning what could have been a disaster into a fantastic and memorable evening. Great pint of Guinness too... Actually all of them.

FABULOUS CHANNEL SWIMMERS PUB a real gem great accommodation great history and a warm welcome, live music and events and a must see for anyone visiting Dover and interested in Channel Swimming and the history of the sport!

Too dark and the smelt unside. Bar staff are lovely and good sound system. Defiantly need brighter light bulbs and dust the ceiling and fittings. Just need a clean 👌

Probably the best pub in Dover. Stylish decor and a pleasant atmosphere for anyone to come into alone or with friends. Kids are welcome during the day. Jeff always makes the effort. You can not find such a nice guy to be a landlord. A must visit if you stay in Dover and he has accommodation coming too worth a call.

Juke box music resulted in some great songs followed by some less good ones... Interesting decor, nice landlord, decent beers. Much better than the other ones around.

Jeff the land lord is one of the nicest blokes I have ever met he sells lovely beers especially guiness when I finish work I always pass by this pub and also have a chat this is one of the nicest pubs in dover .

Fabuloso tradicional pub victoriano. Sofá cómodo o taburetes. Una buena selección de bebidas, aunque no de cervezas durante nuestra visita. Parece bastante cosmopolita, cuando llegamos, el pub estaba siendo entretenido por un joven jugando una guitarra y canto bastante bien. Después de que terminó su canción, puso la guitarra en una caja en la esquina y a la izquierda. Parecía que había una colección de instrumentos para animadores dispuestos. Me parece una idea divertida que podía tomar. Vimos las 6 naciones de rugby y nos dirigimos a cenar. Personal amable, bebidas bueno pero un poco caro.

Down in Dover for our wedding anniversary, we popped in here on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It's not your standard pub but still has a pub feel. Interesting decor and various comfy chairs and sofas. Some decent local ales on draft. They can put together a good cocktail too. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, and this feels like the kind of place every town should have. We recommend.

Lovely atmosphere, really welcoming staff and a great verity of drinks. Being my first time visiting Kent, this quirky little pub with somewhat bar like qualities has really left an impression, defiantly worth a visit!

There has been a pub here as long as anyone can remember in Dover, but it seems to spend more time closed than it does open. It spent most of my childhood growing up in various stages of being rennovated, only to close after a few months of being open each time in its various identities. Its latest incarnation, Les Fleurs, actually does seem a little cut above the rest. From the outside, it appears to be more bar than pub; with dimmed lighting and loud music (generally 70s and 80s rock/pop). However, if one gives it a chance, they will find its more pub-like elements shining through - from a selection of real ale in bottles to the local brews of Whitstable and Faversham on tap, and a friendly landlord. They have live music nights and quiz nights as well, the latter of which I hear are good. The building has its quirks - from a collection of musical instruments lining the walls to the pool table on the roof. The clientele range from typical Dover to more civilised types, so you are sure to encounter a dynamic mix. The landlord does seem to be making an honest attempt to turn the location around though, and given the recent failure of The Park Inn just a few doors down, I wish them success - though my personal preference still lies with the variety of micropubs Dover has to offer, rather than Les Fleurs.

This pub has a welcoming, comfortable, quirky atmosphere and a great owner! Definitely worth a visit whether you're a Dovorian or just passing through!
