Great pub with good outdoor space. The food was excellent. Think it’s a Robinson pub, but the beer was ok!

Great visit to the Legh Arms last week! Beautiful rooms and very attentive staff. Great menu with plenty of offers!

The whole evening was fabulous. From the moment we arrived and checked into our rooms to breakfast the next morning. The rooms are absolutely outstanding and the pillows on the bed are the best we have ever slept on. Our evening meal was 5 out of 5. There were 4 of us and all our plates were clean! I cannot recommend the truffle and mushroom risotto enough and will return just for this alone!! All staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely stay here again without hesitation and excellent value for money.

Once again, we enjoyed our meal. The variety offered by the menu is decent, at fair prices. We were looked after by the Asst Manager ( sorry, didnt catch the name) who worked hard all evening. With a number of other restaurants in the village within a few yards, there is still a place for The Legh ( and they have parking!)

Excellent over night stay very welcoming manger nothing was to much trouble. Considering there was ten of us they went out of their way to make us all very comfortable . Food was delicious as was our breakfast my only criticism was my poached eggs where not runny so I sent them back and this was soon rectified. Hotel room excellent, clean and comfortable and a great powerful shower. We all agreed we would definitely return.

Warm welcome at a beautiful little Inn situated in lovely Prestbury, just outside of Macclesfield. Lovely decor, really friendly staff, good food, nice rooms, with little touches that made it all feel like home away from home. Hot breakfast included in the room fee. Excellent. Highly recommend.

We had a great time here. Loved the village and the accommodations. They have classic, deluxe, and family rooms, which all come with breakfast. You have a choice of cereal, fresh fruit or have them cook something off the menu. The French toast is amazing! Their beer on tap is well known. The whole area is pet friendly! There is a grocery store, a pharmacy and lots of other pubs around

We recently visited The Legh Arms for a Sunday roast, drawn in by what sounded like a delicious menu. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. Service was average—not for lack of effort from the staff, who were clearly rushed off their feet. It seemed like they could have used at least a couple more team members to keep things running smoothly. While we understand that busy periods can be challenging, the wait times and lack of attention to detail made the experience less enjoyable. The biggest letdown, however, was the food. The pork crackling was simply dreadful—completely lacking in flavor and, worse, half of it was so tough and chewy it was inedible. The portion size of the roast beef was disappointing; my husband was still hungry after finishing his meal, which isn't what you'd expect from a proper Sunday roast. I opted for the Sunday roast ciabatta, but the beef inside was so tough that I had to take the sandwich apart and eat the components separately. If we hadn't been on a schedule, I would have sent it back. Overall, we left feeling let down, especially as we had chosen The Legh Arms over another local pub based on the promising menu. With better staffing and a serious improvement in the quality of the food, it could be a great place for a Sunday roast—but based on this experience, we won’t be rushing back.

Exceptional stay at the Legh Arms. We stayed in the Tatton, superb decor, spotlessly clean, comfortable big bed, great shower, lovely personal touches of Old Tom beer & an Elemis pillow spray left for us. Staff went above & beyond, all polite, friendly & helpful. Good choice of menu, food freshly made. Couldn't fault a thing!

Lovely place good food fantastic roast dinner

Dreadful. We had a table booked for 8 to celebrate a birthday and the service and quite frankly the whole experience was hideous. For some reason my food cane a good 5 to 10 minutes after everyone else’s. I was sat wondering if they had just forgot my order as we were given no explanation so eventually when it came, I mentioned that I had thought I’d been forgotten and was promptly ignored….until the waitress returned to the kitchen and then the chef appeared and kept staring at me menacingly through the door port hole. Bizarrre. I had the nut roast which was randomly just poured over the top of the vegetables in some weird way as though it was a paste, I’ve never seen anything like it. As no one came to see if the food was ok I saught out the manager. I tried to explain how bad the food was a the weird bullying chef but he just muttered something about the nut roast being bought in. Not sure how that was relevant. I just gave up and went back to the table. When the plates were taken clearly I had not eaten anything but this again was completely disregarded, it was the strangest dining out experience I’ve ever had. On presentation of the bill I asked for the nut roast to be taken off and a surly waitress asked me what my problem was? The first question I’d been asked about anything to do with the meal. I tired to explain but she was less than interested, snatched the bill back and returned with one which I was assumed was it taken off. I didn’t even bother checking at this point, I just wanted to go… home for my husband to make me something decent to eat.

We pre ordered and had to wait over an hour to eat, the incosistancy in the food was incredible - some of the beef was overcooked and others a good vet would get it back on it's feet. The belly pork is supposed to come with all sorts but had no fondent potato, black pudding, kale, confit carrot - it had a couple of roast potatoes and a boilded carrot - how can this possibly happen on a pre order? The cheeseboard for 12 quid was rubbish - you could have put all the cheese provided on 3 crackers and you didn;t actually get many more than that anyway, rip off. It also felt like putting a huge yorshire pudding on a plate was a mask for the lack of actual food.

Excellent Sunday Roast! It was the first time at the Legh Arms for us even though we live locally. Friendly greeting, nice restaurant area and ambiance. Roast dinner was first class, I had beef and my partner had chicken, both excellent! Will be back ☝️

Children’s burger was burnt, also asked for cheese and no salad but came back with salad and no cheese , took another 20 minutes to bring a fresh burger and it was tiny, mash potatoes were lukewarm, vegetables were poor and cold

Live locally and regularly visit all restaurants in the area. Will never eat at the Legh Arms again. Arrived and shown to table with bench seat and asked to be moved as older and bench seats uncomfortable. Advised they were fully booked and could not move us. When we insisted the lad berudgingly agreed. Just to note only one further customer arrived in the entirety of our visit. Food served promptly. Okay. Chips overcooked and not hot but okay. Service from female wait staff excellent. The lad, not so much. Bill requested and completely wrong bill provided which was then snatched away by the lad. Revised bill arrived which also contained errors! Argument followed. Restaurant now appears to be run by a load of kids with attitude where the customer is always wrong! Indian Thali, down the street, serves good food with a smile. That will be our preferred choice in future.

Thoroughly recommend the Legh Arms for food and accommodation. Easy check-in. Great staff. Very clean warm rooms.

Disappointing Experience Despite Being a Regular We visited this restaurant for lunch at 2:30 PM on Saturday. Although it was busy, the manager took our order quickly, which was appreciated. The food took around 30 minutes to arrive, but given the crowd, we understood the wait. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was not up to par. The burger was decent, but both the steak pie and steak sandwich were disappointing. The steak pie had tough meat inside, and the steak in the sandwich was also tough. To make matters worse, the whole sandwich was cold, including the stale bread. We were starving, so we ate everything, but tried to reach out to the waiting staff for assistance. However, they were overwhelmed, and no one checked back on us. After we finished, it took about 15 minutes for someone to clear the table. When the manager eventually came over to ask about the meal, we shared our feedback about the quality of the food. She didn’t really apologize and explained that the steak pie was from a supplier (despite it being listed as "homemade" on the menu). Regarding the steak sandwich, she just acknowledged the issue without offering much else. When we asked for a discount, nothing was initially offered, but after mentioning the poor quality again, a 10% discount was applied. Frankly, we felt that this gesture was not adequate, and it seemed like we were being brushed off rather than having our concerns taken seriously. Given the subpar food quality, poor service, and the overall experience, we won’t be returning. We’ve been here a few times before, but this visit has left a bad impression. It's a shame, as it could have been a good experience, but sadly, this time it was far from acceptable.

Excellent stay. Excellent customer service. Staff were very friendly. Our room was really comfortable and of a high quality. We stayed for 3 nights. The breakfast was excellent. It is so good to have a fresh cooked breakfast served to your table. Very cosy and delightful bar area. We had dinner one night in the restaurant. The food was very good. Would highly recommend.

We have now stayed here on two occasions and it has been lovely! The rooms are clean and spacious with great en suites. The restaurant is wonderful, very cosy and great selection of food for breakfast and dinner. The staff are so friendly and welcoming!

We had planned to come in for a salad and ended up ordering a delicious roast dinner. I had perfectly cooked beef which was lovely and pink and my husband had the chicken. All the accompanying vegetables were delicious too and neither of us could resist eating some of the Yorkshire pudding.

Fantastic location, with parking. Room great and restaurant excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. We would deftly choose to stay another time and make it a longer trip.

***edit number 3****. After all this time, i have still not been contacted. Terrible place and terrible staff. ***EDIT*** number 2. Still no reply from the manager, even though he asked me to email him. I guess it gives me more fuel to leave more reviews all over social media. ***EDIT*** after posting this reply, the manager left a reply to send an email to him at the Legh Arms. I hasve sent 2 emails so far, and not had any reply. Absolute total disregard to customers. Every chance i get, i will post feedback regarding the shocking treatment from Legh Arms. The restaurant looks an amazing place. really nice scenery around the outside, looks nice and clean inside. we had a starter and i tried something the was recomended, but it was not to my taste. I ordered a very well done sirloin steak for my main course. I told the waitress, i need it cooked very very very well done, with NO pink inside. There was 4 of us at the table and we waited for 45mins for our main meal. People came in after us, and got served before us. We ended up having to go and ask where our food was. They brought out everyones food apart from mine. I had to wait a few more minutes. As soon as mine was brought out, I had to send it back, because the steak was not cooked. A short wile later, my food was brought out again, but then i had to wait a few mins for a knife and fork. I then had to send my steak back again because it was not cooked how i asked. Another few mins later, my food was brought out again, but once again, i had to wait longer for a knife and fork. I tried my steak, and it was still not cooked, so it went back again. I then also had to wait again for a knife and fork. And once again, it was not cooked as i asked. By this time, i gave up and had nothing, because everyone else was finishing their meals. This was meant to be a celebration for my birthday and it was a big let down. I will not be returning.

Have been coming here for Christmas lunch on the 24th for a few years. It's always been busy so we reserved our table back in September. We needn't have bothered, it was quiet this year because they messed up Christmas. Arrived to be denied the Christmas menu because we had not pre-ordered. I informed that that the system never asked me too (including the day before when it did ask me to reconfirm). When I booked they hadn't even published the Christmas Menu so what was I supposed to order from? I was rudely told that others had booked in "June" and had managed it. Tables less than half full, maybe 1/3 of those there having a Christmas meal, the rest ordering from the standard menu. Plenty coming in and then leaving without ordering. I would suggest that their takings would indicate that many indeed had not managed it. The Christmas menu only contained four items, one of which was a burger which was on the main menu anyway! So for reasons beyond the wit of man, they decided that they were unable to prepare what is effectively a Sunday Roast with the inclusion of a sausage wrapped in bacon. On a positive note the waitresses were pleasant but not enough to offset the female host who appears not to cut out for a customer facing role. Bacchus, Coast, and The Bridge all busy. Guess we will be joining them next year.

We came for a family Xmas meal. We had pre-ordered our meal online as required by the restaurant. Service was almost non existent, we were sat for 20 mins before they took drinks orders. Starters came much later. I had to go to the bar to ask for someone to come and take some more drinks orders and a waiter then came to the table and said "Would you like some water for the table ?" I said yes and then he shot off without taking anyone's order!! The mains were a disaster, the kids got adult meals and my wife got cheese with her burger which she had asked without and we were told they were not reading the notes!! The food was stone cold, Luke warm at best. We were there for over 2 hours, mainly with no food in front of us. Same for all the other tables I noticed. At no point did any staff come over to ask how our food was so could not comment that they were all cold. For desserts they came and asked how many spoons we would need because again "we haven't read the notes"?!! At the end when they collected our plates the waiter finally asked how our meal was and we told him not very good and he replied "Oh" and walked off. Didn't ask why, or apologise. When we left they took the food off the bill which we thought was reasonable as we had paid £80 deposit and paid for drinks. Then after we'd paid they said they had meant to charge us for the food!! I explained the whole meal had been a dogs dinner and service was terrible,.and not only had they messed up the food but now the bill too!! They agreed then to not charge us for the food. All in all an awful experience. We used to go regularly as a family years ago so thought it would be nostalgic. It was really poor, the staff need training. It wasn't massively busy so no excuse.

Received an e mail from Legh arms re Christmas menu and as we have rated here numerous times we decided to drop in tonight about 6pm Asked for table but were told fully booked but we could use the bar area which was fine Went to bar and asked for Christmas menu as we had only been given the normal a la carte. Barman didn’t know if there was one (strange as board outside advertised it). Asked waitress but she didn’t know if there was one. She looked and couldn’t find one. Another waitress asked if she could help. Repeated conversation and she looked but couldn’t find menu either. She asked manager to come to see us. He said unless we had booked and paid a deposit we couldn’t have the Christmas menu. Checked the e mail and website. No mention Pointed out that we had come here for festive menu for many years and his rude retort was “well that’s how it works now” Left and went to the Bridge across the road which offered a very similar Christmas menu with no problem at all and slightly cheaper as it happens. Whilst at the bridge I looked at the legh arms website again and lo and behold there was table availability at 7.30pm which means there must have been time at 6pm. Obviously the staff and standard at the Legh arms has dropped as on the many occasions we have eaten there the food has been excellent I cannot understand how an establishment offer e mail marketing and a board outside advertising Christmas menu but when you call in you can’t have it.

Beautifully appointed pub with tastefully decorated rooms for a very comfortable overnight stay. Excellent staff too, without exception. Highly recommended.

Lovely place, staff friendly & polite very helpful. We was super excited to eat here as the menu looked amazing. We had the hot honey burger and root vegetable salad. Burger didn’t really have any chicken inside and the bun was totally burnt. Salad was overwhelmed with beetroot but nice flavours. I wouldn’t have left a review but what seemed to be the manager came and asked how food was. Told him and he walked away and didn’t say anything. So the opportunity was there to rectify. Why ask if your not bothered.

I write this negative review based on my family’s experience on Sunday 1st Dec. I had reserved a table on 28/11 for my son and family to share a Christmas lunch because we could not be together on Christmas Day. I was instructed to specify the Christmas menu when reserving a table and this generated a deposit payment request that I duly paid. I received an acknowledgement by email and shared this with my family. On Saturday 30th November I was asked to confirm our attendance the next day but nothing else. Upon our arrival I was disappointed that the manager appeared to not know of our reservation at all. We were sat down at a table and the normal Sunday lunch menu was presented to us by a waitress who also wished to explain what we had already been informed of that we hadn't pre-ordered food so could not choose from the Christmas lunch menu. I responded that I had paid a deposit for the Christmas menu but was not instructed to pre order our food. Had I been afforded the opportunity to pre-order our food I would have done, so but I did not receive a link or even any contact (I had submitted my email and personal number) the day before when confirming attendance to inform us that we must pre-order food. Perhaps this is a glitch that can be corrected because it appears that table reservations are managed by a separate entity. My son left the restaurant to explore the possibility of eating at a different restaurant in the village. In his absence, a third waitress approached our table to explain yet again what we “should” have done. Her interference was uninvited, patronising and most unwelcome, not least because at no stage did the manager or either waitress apologise or acknowledge our disappointment. There is clearly a challenge at this venue when ordering from the Christmas lunch menu and my primary reason to highlight this to other potential guests is so that they do not experience the disappointment at this time of year that my family experienced. Upon paying a deposit would surely be the ideal time to include a link to pre-order food and at the latest to contact a guest to ask why a pre-order of food has not been submitted when reconfirming attendance the day before . The manager returned our deposit on request but only as we were leaving the venue did he offer us an apology! I have had a business in Prestbury village for over twenty years and so of course i understand that mistakes happen.However, it is how errors and customers disappointments are managed that makes the difference. We were warmly welcomed at an alternative Prestbury restaurant without a reservation and without pre-ordering food we were sat down and offered a pre-lunch drink. We chose the Christmas traditional lunch menu complete with Christmas pudding. It was delicious. There was a world of difference in the welcome and customer service that we received, and i hope that the staff we encountered at the Legh Arms understand that a consequence of motivational feedback will trigger necessary improvements and updated customer service training (clearly lacking) that would prompt us to return.

Great service and personel, fantastic breakfast were they prepare your choice in the meny a la minute. Tried the evening meny that was very good aswell. The room , comfortable but a bit worn. Carpets on the floor , very worn old windows, but functional. Very calm and pleasant at nights , had good sleeps. Highly recommend in total .

An absolute pleasure to spend the night here. The food and the amount of options on the menu even for vegans like us, is out of this world! You can clearly taste the love for food prepared by the chef.

Fabulous stay attention to detail excellent. From greeting at entrance to comfy bed and fabulous food and fresh milk in room. Perfect. Only thing I would add is that remember to enter car details in laptop by bar.

Breakfast underwhelming, evening meal pricey! Vine tomatoes? Barnsley chop small! No pate on a sat night, is this not your main evening? And the smell of cigarettes in beer garden straight into your bedroom was awful ! No privacy glass in bathroom? However we had a nice stay just some things a bit off! Would come again to see if we just had an off stay
