A very popular place right opposite castle park, at the centre of bristol city. With a large outside seating space and a full three storey inside seating, it is one of the largest pubs in the area. It has great pizza and side options, and is unique in the fact that all the food they serve is vegetarian but absolutely lovely. A unique selling point is that it is a brewery, and you can see some of the processes. As such it has a changing variety of very diverse beers, ciders and ales. The third floor also has a games area and has a young vibe. Altogether a very busy and vibrant place specially on the weekends.

Popped in for a quick drink before going out to eat at Lamaya. The atmosphere here was great. So many people enjoying themselves in the sunshine overlooking the river. Loads of options for beer. The West Coast Pale Ale was incredible. The guys and gals serving were very friendly and went about their job in a very professional way. We even bought a T shirt and a pint glass as presents. Overall a lovely couple of hours.

You could tell it was a local hangout as all we heard were British accents which was lovely. Everyone was enjoying themselves and having a great time. Service was a little slow as it seemed like there were no clear “lines” for food and oftentimes you’d get passed up in line by others ordering beer. Regardless of this—-their pizza was delicious. We forced ourself to take home the leftover instead of watching an entire pizza each.

Disappointed to discover when trying to order gluten-free pizzas that they aren’t available for coeliacs - we were told we weren’t allowed to place an order as it couldn’t be guaranteed that pizzas would be gluten free. Whilst we understand the concerns, we were frustrated and disappointed that the online menu doesn’t explain that gluten free pizzas are not available for coeliacs. Fantastic selection of fresh beer in a brilliant setting. We went on a sunny Friday afternoon and the place had a really nice buzz to it. I can imagine it gets pretty hectic in the downstairs seating, but there's additional seating upstairs which seemed much quieter. Located in a fantastic building, there are a huge range of beers available on tap at 1/3, 2/3, 1/2 and pint measures depending on the style and your preferences. We tried some pales, wild fermented beers, a fruit sour and a cider and all were top notch. Pizza is available from Pizza is Lovely, but we didn't try on this occasion. Wonderful to see that all the pizzas are vegetarian and can be made vegan on request, though I imagine the choice of meat-descriptors on the menu might confuse some people. In all, brilliant setting and brilliant beer. Can't wait to go back!

It's a very impressive venue, but the service was terrible, and it was on a day where it wasn't very busy at all. As it was our first time there, we hadn't noticed the table numbers, and the barman was very rude and belittling about the fact we were asking about ordering food without having a table number first. When I returned with a table number, it was the same barman, and even though I remained polite with "please" and "thank you"s he did the whole transaction without using any of these words. We ordered a pizza, and it took about half an hour to arrive and was stone cold.

We've been in to both the St Phillips Taproom and Finzels Reach Brewpub many times and our visit was their usual high standards. We were in about 830 on Friday 26 Jan and it was busy but not rammed & we sat a table downstairs - the first thing that struck us was the absolutely terrible music coming out of the speakers, we have diverse music taste but it sounded like someone had left their own play list on and it was into the deepest depths of their playlists. Not exactly early evening chilled tunes Service at the bar was unusually dreadful too - normally the staff behind the bar are really on it & helpful but on this occasion I stood at the front of the bar - ( front of well there was no queue) for over 5 minutes - a chap in a red waistcoat looked at me then spun his corkscrew and wandered off - other staff just seemed not to be focussed and then just served others. I had to check what I was wearing as genuinely thought I had my cloak of invisibility on. We eventually managed to order drinks and a couple of Pizzas. Looking around there seemed to be lots of tables with empty glasses on that hadn't been collected again not what it's usually like. Although after 10 minutes or so a staff member went round and gathered up a stack of glasses half as tall as them. Even the Pizzas weren't up to scratch, they arrived 5 minutes apart & my partners one was lets call it "Welldone" now I appreciate the Pizzas are separate and maybe it was a combination of all the above, but it really wasn't what we've experienced before when visiting. Will it put us off from coming back, I'm not sure but it certainly won't encourage us to come in. All in all I'd rate our visit 5 out of 10. Nudged up by the beer. Just to say I did email this feedback to the LFG team but got no response

LHG Brewpub in Bristol has officially won my heart as the go-to spot for the best pizza in town! The star of the show is undoubtedly the butternut squash pizza – a flavor explosion that defies pizza norms. The crust is perfection, the toppings are artfully crafted, and every bite is a slice of happiness. Theres always a great atmosphere as locals and visitors alike all love this place. Now, here's the kicker – I'm not a beer enthusiast, but LHG's brews are a game-changer. Somehow, against all odds, I always end up finding a beer that I not only tolerate but genuinely enjoy. The beer selection complements the pizza marvelously, creating a perfect pairing for every palate.

Excellent selection of interesting lagers (no real ale during my visit), at prices you need a bank loan for. The most expensive ale on a visit last week would amount to £13.50 should you want a pint of it. Got very noisy as the evening progressed with the type of men who come from the Brian Blessed School of Conversation. There aren't (or I couldn't see) any chairs with backs, so you have to manage sitting bolt upright on rock-hard benches. I admire what they're doing here, but it's very expensive and physically uncomfortable.

They do not accept cash. When asked, the bar staff said "I guess it's just better for us" - well it's not better for people who don't have access to a card, a bank account, value their privacy, autonomy, or just generally feel that exchanging legal tender for goods and services should be protected. Please train your staff. On 5th October at 2:15p the staff messed up with the toasties and I've been served with the Ham & Cheese toastie instead of plant-based version. It has been a take away so I realised only 10 minutes later, when I was from the store. It's disappointing as I'm vegan and couldn't eat it.
