A lovely vibe and nice beers, but pizza was awful

I don't usually eat vegan food, but need to admit I had the best no-meat meatballs. The beer offer is also good, especially if you like hazy IPAs. Pizza is much better than many places in Bristol but not in par with a proper Italian place Will go back for sure

Excellent brewery pub in the centre of Bristol. The bar staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, allowing us to taste some samples before selecting our preferred beer.

So good the first night in Bristol we came back the Saturday night and stayed til closing. Great staff and great selection of craft beers. Lots of seating available upstairs with views onto the water and just a nice friendly place.

Fresh and varied selection of amazing beers. The design of the space is incredibly well considered, from seeing the brewery where your beer is pouring directly from, right down to the tap handles.

We found this place when out walking one afternoon in Bristol and loved it. Excellent selection of beers and a couple of really nice ciders on draft. We went twice and sat upstairs (at a low table) and downstairs (at a high table with stools) and both were equally comfortable. We were very tempted by the food but ended up not eating anything on these visits, will hopefully do so in future. There's dart and pool upstairs and it's dog friendly so you see some great well behaved pooches. Would definitely recommend for an evening out.

Great beer, great pizza, just took a little too long to get the pizza.

Didn't eat so haven't scored that. Very open, can be a bit drafty but the drinks are nice and it has a good vibe.

Busy, vibrant bar with great beers. Popped in on a Thursday early evening for a few drinks. The place was busy with a good atmosphere and friendly punters. Really enjoyed the Mosaic cask ale and bought one of their cool Left Handed Giant t-shirts.

Being half Italian I was skeptical of the no meat offering but went for the Bits & Pieces Pizza. One of the best pizzas I’ve eaten in a long time. Base was thin and crispy with an amazing think but airy crust and the toppings were proper quality! So well priced. All this plus the excellent beer offering and chilled out environment. Perfect.

Called in to sample same beers, a great choice available. There was fabulous buzz to the place. The staff were very friendly. Really enjoyed it and will be back soon.

Great location for beers and views along the river.

Family birthday drinks in between waiting for a dinner reservation elsewhere. Great choice of beers and ciders especially on the lower floor, less choice upstairs but not a problem as there is a lift to convey your purchases! The grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed their visit especially as they were able to play darts and pool without too much of a wait. Lovely to see its both child (before 8pm) and dog friendly. Another bonus being able to sample a few as I couldn't make-up up my mind, as I am not normally a beer or cider drinker. A great few hours with a good atmosphere and service. We will be back when we next visit Bristol

I had Bits & Pieces pizza. It was amazing the crust was fresh and very good as well. My friends picked Truffle one that they loved as well. Great place to hang out with your friends.

The pizza is fantastic and the beer is also delicious. Not cheap, but worth a visit!

We've been in to both the St Phillips Taproom and Finzels Reach Brewpub many times and our visit was their usual high standards. We were in about 830 on Friday 26 Jan and it was busy but not rammed & we sat a table downstairs - the first thing that struck us was the absolutely terrible music coming out of the speakers, we have diverse music taste but it sounded like someone had left their own play list on and it was into the deepest depths of their playlists. Not exactly early evening chilled tunes Service at the bar was unusually dreadful too - normally the staff behind the bar are really on it & helpful but on this occasion I stood at the front of the bar - ( front of well there was no queue) for over 5 minutes - a chap in a red waistcoat looked at me then spun his corkscrew and wandered off - other staff just seemed not to be focussed and then just served others. I had to check what I was wearing as genuinely thought I had my cloak of invisibility on. We eventually managed to order drinks and a couple of Pizzas. Looking around there seemed to be lots of tables with empty glasses on that hadn't been collected again not what it's usually like. Although after 10 minutes or so a staff member went round and gathered up a stack of glasses half as tall as them. Even the Pizzas weren't up to scratch, they arrived 5 minutes apart & my partners one was lets call it "Welldone" now I appreciate the Pizzas are separate and maybe it was a combination of all the above, but it really wasn't what we've experienced before when visiting. Will it put us off from coming back, I'm not sure but it certainly won't encourage us to come in. All in all I'd rate our visit 5 out of 10. Nudged up by the beer. Just to say I did email this feedback to the LFG team but got no response

Genuinely the best pizza I’ve had In a while

Quite a thing. Be here, enjoy and wonder at the genius if a brewery that runs a running Club. Great food, great beer and stay quirky!

Many options for beer and cider here. Something for everyone one's taste. Also have a large pizza oven, out door seating with blankets for those chilly days. Real ale is served from 2 hand pumps, a mild and a bitter. Can be lively beer and needs topping up, you have to ask!

Amazing selection of beers. Slow service. Go for the drinks but give yourself some time. I had a couple of IPAs and they had wine for the wife

LHG Brewpub in Bristol has officially won my heart as the go-to spot for the best pizza in town! The star of the show is undoubtedly the butternut squash pizza – a flavor explosion that defies pizza norms. The crust is perfection, the toppings are artfully crafted, and every bite is a slice of happiness. Theres always a great atmosphere as locals and visitors alike all love this place. Now, here's the kicker – I'm not a beer enthusiast, but LHG's brews are a game-changer. Somehow, against all odds, I always end up finding a beer that I not only tolerate but genuinely enjoy. The beer selection complements the pizza marvelously, creating a perfect pairing for every palate.

The best atmosphere around with a killer selection of beers. Massive shout out to the LHG run club which meets here on a Tuesday. Nothing beats a beer post run.

Excellent selection of interesting lagers (no real ale during my visit), at prices you need a bank loan for. The most expensive ale on a visit last week would amount to £13.50 should you want a pint of it. Got very noisy as the evening progressed with the type of men who come from the Brian Blessed School of Conversation. There aren't (or I couldn't see) any chairs with backs, so you have to manage sitting bolt upright on rock-hard benches. I admire what they're doing here, but it's very expensive and physically uncomfortable.

If you like beer this is a great place but if you want something else - even a shandy- don’t bother. They only take card; the seats are uncomfortable and I saw a barman picking his nose - yuk!

They do not accept cash. When asked, the bar staff said "I guess it's just better for us" - well it's not better for people who don't have access to a card, a bank account, value their privacy, autonomy, or just generally feel that exchanging legal tender for goods and services should be protected. Drink somewhere else.

Staff are so rude. Every time without fail over the last 2 years. LHG was the first place in Bristol I went to when I moved here. I have no idea why they are all so miserable and stroppy. Pizza is good. Beers are alright, generally more hazy than other parts of the UK.

This was my first visit here and I was disappointed. The beer, although excellent, is very expensive in comparison with pubs nearby. You cannot pay with cash and I, personally, didn't think the building had much atmosphere.

Good pub and great beer, however.....staff don't look interested, generally monosyllabic and non smiling! Also wanted some snacks to go with beer - menus on table....however when went to order was told kitchen closed....so why have menu on the table and where does it say anywhere what the kitchen hours are? Pretty lousy experience imo - as I specifically wanted to go here for my birthday and was disappointed in service!

if you take a can of beer to take away it costs £5.50 but if you take it and consume it in store you pay £6.90,£1.40 difference why?Given that the service is 0 because your staff is rude and you don't even bring the beer to the table.Having said that,the pizza was excellent!

Left handed giant is a beautiful pub that offers you a big variety of beers, and the majority of them are made in the store. Except beers you can have pizza or other snacks. The store has tables outside by the river, and two floors. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is also an option to try different beers if you don't know which one to choose. The prices are good. I totally recommend it.

Rudest bar staff I've encountered in Bristol. By a long shot. Small bald man is mildly aggressive with customers. Beer not too bad. No atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our visit (we have been before when it has been quiet and rather soulless) on a Sunday afternoon. There were lots of people eating, socialising and, of course, drinking and as a result there was a really buzzy atmosphere. Great range of beers and friendly and helpful staff. Quite a special place.

this place is wonderful, one of my favorite in bristol. we usually go here to play pool and drink nice home beer. but unfortunately today we had a bad experience with one of the server. maybe something happened to him we don’t know but it’s not a reason to serve us with a dead face and throw our snacks on the bar when we order some. i’m sorry for him but this is unprofessional. and this is an opinion from a person who works in customer service as well. from another side only other members of staff saved this situation. a guy with dark hair and a girl in glasses with peach hair were the most lovely people i’ve met recently. thanks them but not to the guy in a red hoodie :-(

Massive new brewpub. Over 30 beers on draught sold in 2/3 pint glasses. Pizzas looked amazing and all are vegan or vegetarian.

Tremendous selection of high quality craft beer. Highly recommended.

Here you can feel the youth and the pulsating Bristol. The selection of beers is immense. Nice little glasses, then you can try several varieties.

That's definitely your place if you love craft beer! There's a bunch of choices. I love the ambience, especially the tables at the outside part. I hope to visit this brewery again soon!

We waited more than an hour for a pizza, unacceptable

The setting is quite nice, too bad we have to wait more than an hour for a pizza, it would be more honest to warn the customer who is ordering.

Always been a fan of LHG and loved Pizza Is Lovely when it was at the Orchard. Think must be bedding in as we went a few weeks ago and as well as a really long wait, lots of us had pizza that was crossing over to burnt and flavour not that great especially for the price. I'll give it another go but the old PIL (and mission pizza) was so good that from food pov it's felt like a real dip

This place is really good, had read about their beers before going to Bristol so was excited to try and was not disappointed. Staff are really friendly and happy to answer any questions about the beers on offer. Great selection for all tastes and the place has a great location on the river with a really cool vibe. I loved it and went a couple of times during my short stay in Bristol. Didn’t eat there but saw people having the pizzas and they looked really good. If you like your craft beer definitely worth a visit.

Had a bit of a nightmare with the pizza as the kitchen had a meltdown and it was a bit later than said- but the service was lovely and gave me a free round when I was checking in about the wait! When we got the pizza it was really good and The beer is lovely :-)

Really love this venue and would 100% recommend to anyone - great space and brilliant product. Only down side is I found some of the staff to be a bit abrasive.

Often very busy, but worth scouting out a table as the beer selection is excellent. Lots of beer brewed in house, as well as a healthy selection from local and national beer makers. Fantastic for just drinks but if this is also a brilliant pizza restaurant. If you’re a runner, check out the welcoming left handed giant run club that go out as a large group on Tuesday evenings.

Great beer and pizza! I'd give it five stars even through our pizza order was forgotten (incredibly busy so absolutely fair enough). They more than made up for it and we were kindly compensated with a round of drinks on the house. Some of the best beer I've ever had and so much selection. Athmosphere is brilliant on a Friday night and happy to see no smoking or vaping on the premises both in and outside. Staff were lovely, can't wait to go back!

I stumbled across this brewpub, it's magic. Good quality craft and good vibes.

Lots of choice of craft beers on tap, a couple of ciders and a lager. There was more in the fridge but I didn’t look so couldn’t comment as to what was in there, there were tall bottles so maybe some wines? The pizzas looked amazing so we came back the next day to try and we were not disappointed. All the pizzas were vegetarian, with meat alternative chicken and pepperoni which suits me. The pepperoni hot was delicious. There was a choice of gluten free base which I didn’t try. Some of the pizzas had a white sauce base instead of a traditional red sauce base, we weren’t brave enough to try these and didn’t see any. The environment is young and a bit noisy, no music which makes the noise of the crowd feel loud. There are three floors with darts and pool on the top floor, and a covered outside area on the river front on ground level. If I lived locally we would be in here quite often.

Probably the worst level of customer service I have ever received, Served by an aggressive, antagonist manager, who obviously has no experience on this role, Overall an awful experience, avoid this place at all costs.

Grown men not being allowed to use the toilet by bouncers as manager took hum bridge to one of friends because he tried to pay by cash. Bouncer pumping fist into hand as we asked to speak to manager. Absolute joke of a business, asked others to leave drinks but would not give refund. Will never frequent this place ever again. Bunch of children, trying to reason with idiots.

We visited here a few times during our stay in Bristol. We'd heard good things about it and it didn't disappoint. There is a great range of craft beers, including non-alcoholic. As it is so good, it can get very busy.

Visit this bar when in Bristol and always enjoy the excellent beers on offer and pizzas. We were planning to have one yesterday but seeing they now only offer vegan and vegetarian ones, we didn't. A strange commercial decision to alienate a bunch of meat eating customers. We had an excellent meal at the nearby Lebanese....

I have been here a number of times. The location is good but the prices are ridiculous. I paid £6 for a single bottle of cider. That was with a 10% discount. I have to admit the food options are good, including for vegans. The atmosphere is always good here because it's always busy.

Menu says Chicken but it is not (is veggie). False advertising. Beer is great.

I went there for a pint and i witnessed the bar staff being very rude and disrespectful to a trans member of their bar staff. they consistently misgendered her and made her upset. absolutely will not be going back to this pub

Absolutely brilliant pub. Drinks were fab but the location itself even more pleasing. The pub is a renovated industrial building with a splash of colour that's right by the riverside with sheltered outdoor seating, a large open view of the bridge & river; and a cosy indoor space consisting of three floors, two bars, multiple seating spaces, and a games room. I would 100% come back here a second time and try out some of the other items on the menu and maybe even one of their pizzas.

Nice enough place, but too many policies that I'm not a fan of: - won't let you pay with cash - won't let you have meat on a pizza - won't serve you a full pint (2/3rds only) I'm all for progress and inclusivity, but...

Always a great place to come for food and drink but tonight there seems to be a cheese shortage! Could barely find any on my shroomie pizza. Just looked like tomato and mushroom....some cheese please guys!

What a selection of drinks 😲 didn't eat here but visited 2 days in a row, had a suggestion of a IPA over a cider and was realy surprised and even had more. Love how you can see what's going behind in the cellar and it's a great view outside across from the park. Staff were very helpfull

Pub where we had a beer for the adults and a soft drink for the children 10 and 12. Nice little moment. Children accepted until 8 p.m.
