Lea Gate in Preston

Came here last week with the family and we really enjoyed it. The staff were great and the food was really nice. We would come again.

Nice pub would have got 5 stars but a coupe of times there was a supply issue with the food so the full menu wasn’t available

Wasnt to bad , bit slow at bring out the food to say it was so quite and wasn't keen on the hash brown

The serves was brilliant Katie and abbey was brilliant sorting out my son pudding making it perfect for his fussy needs COULDNT of done anything else for us wonderful just a bit of a problem with student discount could work even tho advertised only complaint but didn’t ruin the night

Superb breakfast as always! Fantastic staff, especially Shell who went above and beyond to make sure all was ok and nothing was too much trouble for her! We'll be back again soon

Went to the lea Gate for lunch with my family and daughter, greeted by bar staff as arrived server sat us down, took order for drinks really nice girl , kids were colouring in while we waited for the food to be served, came to the table with a lovely girl smiling and very respectable asked if we wanted anything more or anymore drinks. Really welcoming place was that impressed we stayed for deserts . Will definitely be comin again Thanks alot

I had chicken rib and onion fries. Such a wonderful yummy food and worth for the money. Also the atmosphere was pretty good and looks very clean and tidy. Moreover they served the food within 5 to 7 minutes I order. Thank you for the good service and I do suggest this restaurant and bar for my friends too.

I brought my two daughters today for tea and I'm so glad I chose Lea Gate. It was such a lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing. I have to say a massive thank you to Connor for excellent service. He was very welcoming and we will definitely be back soon.

i came in earlier tonight and ordered food, the food was lovely and a really polite young lady named leona got me everything i needed and was at my service when i needed to know about breakfast starting times

today I went in for lovely meal and was treated well by one of the waiters named Leona she was such a polite well mannered waitress would love to come again

The food was good. The service was amazing the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I do think the brownie was a bit small for the price and I was disappointed to find the coors had been taken off the drinks menu.

V quiet (time of year tbf) but accommodating as feature of hotel next door

It's our 3rd Christmas day at Lea Gate, we honestly can't fault it. The food absolutely excelled itself this year and the staff as always were amazing. Keep our table free for next year. ❤️

Great food, great atmosphere, always warm and has tellys, machines and a ride for the kids. Noticed today that there is only one lad named Conner doing literally everything. Cleaned our table, wouldn't let us sit at it until it was perfect for us. Served us, fixed some tech thing with the till, i'm half expecting him to go and cook my food. Best thing is though he's done it all with a smile and was super professional given the circumstances. Shout out to you Conner thanks for serving me and my family.

Loved the food, daughter had the gravy one which she loved, I had the burger sizzler which again was lovely, although the steak wasn't the best but still nice. Good menu, will definitely call again. 👍

Every year I travel from stoke on Trent and go for a meal we came to the Lea gate last year service was great and food was also good Because of that we decided to go again today we had the festive menu there was 12 adults and 4 kids. The meals all came out together so that was a plus, The price was not bad for a 3 course but there was definitely a reason for it being cheap. Turkey was proscessed. All the veg and potatoes were rock hard and parsnips was fried. And like a brick Not one of us ate all of the starter or main. We then asked for the puddings to be boxed up and that took ages. Half the party left while we waited for the rest to get puddings. The staff did ask us about the meal so when we said the turkey tasted funny he said they used the same batch yesterday and no one complained. And that he would pass it on Maybe it was yesterdays turkey.🤣 the staff did try to accommodate us and was friendly but the food was terrible and bill was juts under £300 it was £6:50 for a pint and no milkshake for the kids that we had pre ordered off the menu so they were obviously upset I will definitely be looking for somewhere else to go next year.

We came for our annual Christmas get together this evening a large group of around 20 people. We were given the upstairs room which was perfect with the tables in a large horse shoe shape. We were advised when we arrived that another large group were in so food might take a little while longer but in all fairness we didn't have to wait long at all. The staff were fantastic really helpful and friendly. We had some small children with us that where abit noisy when we arrived and the staff were great and understanding whilst they got settled and had puzzle sheets and crayons that helped solve that. Food was really nice and a great price. Everyone was really happy with their meals and the area we where placed.id 100% recommend for a large group get together. Couldn't fault the staff. Thank you for making our evening delightful.

Had sloppy Joe on Texas toast and chips, sloppy Joe Was stone cold obviously microwave from frozen , I should have sent it back but don’t like to make a fuss

I enjoyed my evening spent at the Lea Gate and went to the restaurant area for dinner on the evening in which we arrived and then breakfast the following morning. Everything was perfect. We were told a 30 minute wait on food due to a Christmas party booking but our meals arrived within 15 minutes. I cannot recommend the Lea Gate enough.

Came for my partner's birthday and the food was cooked to perfection we both had steak the sides was good as well we had the salt and pepper fries which where nice and it was cooked perfect the kids demolished their food and the puddings where perfect especially the candy mania with baileys. The selection of cocktails including the Christmas ones are really good. thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Will definitely be back again. We got two kids meal deals which included main drink and dessert two mains a side a regular soft drink and 2 cocktail pitchers all for less then £60 great value for money and serverice compared to other restaurants in the area.

Came yesterday for family Christmas meal (8 of us). Couldn't be happier the staff, food everything was perfect. Alex was amazing nothing but 110% service from him

We were there last Sunday and had the Sunday roast with a drink for £10. Definitely good value. The dinner came with 4 little crispy roast potatoes, 2 slices of processed turkey, and the usual tinned veg. Absolutely not a patch on a homemade roast. Pleasant atmosphere apart from 3 kids running riot !!!

Nice food, Christmasey vibes. Overall lovely meal, staff seemed nice and attentive. Only mark of improvement would be if the music was a bit quieter.

Decent food at a fair price, friendly staff

Disappointing starters very quick garlicky mushrooms on soggy bread. Then 1 hour for mains. When a server asked about a problem we where told there was a 50 min wait for food. Strange considering people came in after us where fed then left. The mega mixed grill wasn't up to standard steak tough, chicken dry. Didn't like the sausage but that was probably prefence. My wife's chicken strips came as a sizzler on veg. The fries were under done. We had the chicken strips and mixed grill at a Hungry horse brand near Manchester Airport last week and we where that impressed we thought we would try our reasonably local Hungry Horse. The chicken strips there where not served on a sizzler and where lovely. I thought as the Menu was identical the food would have been very similar. Once again very disappointing

Working away and craving good food and it did not disappoint, went for the Garlic Mushrooms which came on 3 pieces of Garlic Bread and was spot on, main course was the Lamb Kofta, this was delicious with a very good salad, Fries and served on a Greek style flatbread very filling even for larger appetites. Overall very good would recommend, plenty of options on the menu to suit all dietary requirements and tastes.

Stayed here and ate in the pub. I have a mixed review, bedroom was comfortable and clean, though thin walls so could sometimes hear things in the night. A good bathroom. The window catch was broken meaning a very slight draft into the room The menu here is big with a good mix of options. The food quality and service in the restaurant is a bit hit and miss. Steak and ale pie excellent. Some dishes particularly breakfast don’t have great flavour. Some good desserts. Kind, friendly staff. The prices are very affordable, would recommend trying it out.

Came here for tea with friends tonight and everything was spot on, food was tasty and staff were friendly and welcoming. Although it did look like they were under staffed as I only saw 3 members of staff all night including the bar man. Shout out to Amy duty manager and the rest of her team we will definitely be returning.

I've stayed here a couple of times when working in central Preston. It's just what I need... Easy to get to... Just far enough out of the city for a little drive... A fine breakfast (if slightly modest for a larger appetite)... Very clean rooms and very nice staff and service.

Came today 10/11/2024. The food has always been good,,but today the food was awful, the beef was so fatty, mashed potato was hard and cold, roast potatoes like hard stones. Offered us a drink which mum had one but I'm driving. Won't be back.

We have just been for my husbands birthday & our 8 year wedding anniversary. What a shambles. Not one staff member actually looked happy to be there. Our starters came, they were actually was nice. My chicken tikka came, I paid the extra for the vegetable samosa, onion bhaji and mint dip, the mint dip didn't arrive the onion bhaji and samosa was burnt. I asked for a replacement, was told they aren't burnt and if they was to come out any lighter they wouldn't be cooked right through. So I took a bite, almost broke my tooth on the samosa, could use that as a little javelin, the onion bhaji tasted burnt and looked like it had been on a heavy night at the crematorium. I wish I could upload the pictures... I went to the bathroom and almost puked up what I'd eaten with the smell of damp! Not been here for a few years.... used to be good. Won't be returning!!!

We visited yesterday (20/10/24) and unfortunately was let down. I come to this pub quite often as I normally enjoy my experience there. However last night was anything but enjoyable. We ordered our food and drinks via the app which was very easy to navigate. We waited roughly around 5 minutes for our drinks, which was no issue. However when the drinks arrived, we noticed that there was food stuck on the inside of the glasses. I understand staff may have missed this, however when brought to their attention, the girl behind the bar did not know what to say and eventually allowed us to have clean glasses. Once that was resolved, we were waiting for our starter to come out, we were handed cutlery in advance however there was also food stuck on two of the forks. This really let me and my party down as we couldn't understand how that was also missed. We asked for new cutlery, which was sorted swiftly, and asked if we wanted some side plates for our starter, to which we said yes. However they did not arrive with the starter so had to ask another member of staff. The food was enjoyable however some parts of our meals were hard to bite into which meant we had to cut those bits off. However after all these incidents, it seems as if the pub is not organised and that the staff are doing so much that they can't remember what they have asked you. It really did spoil our little birthday meal and I feel as though the issues could have been resolved better.

Although the hotel could do with a lick of paint I found it clean and comfortable, the room was very quiet so good night's sleep. The shower could have done with a bit more pressure but was adequate. The greeting by the receptionist was very welcoming and every time I saw her she was bubbly and smiling. The breakfasts were very good. Unfortunately on my last morning the chef did not turn in for work so no cooked breakfast. I found in the evenings there was no one at the bar to serve and I had to wait quite a while before I was attended to.

Lovely food, very good value for money, we had the two course Thursday. Delicious desserts for £1 each. Nice friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and good service.

Stopover on our way north from Hampshire. Great value for money, very friendly staff and good, reasonably priced food. Also stayed over at the hotel attached, again very good value, comfortable beds and good shower. Everything we needed for our stay, would recommend to anyone.

Great value food, efficient service and appreciated being able to order by app to avoid the bar queues. Staff very friendly and helpful, food served quickly and very tasty. Busy on a Friday night but a great atmosphere with families and children welcome. We also had breakfast here the following morning as we stayed in the pub rooms. Much quieter for breakfast but lovely atmosphere again and staff very friendly.

For some reason I really liked this place 😂 it was giving - childhood nostalgia. It wasn't particularly up-to-date but it just had a really comfortable vibe to it and the food was good comfort food ~

Overall a good stay. The staff were outstanding, both reception and at breakfast. The restaurant team really went out of their way to make sure we had a great breakfast, previous guests had pocketed most of the pastries etc, but the team made sure we had plenty. The rooms were ok, a bit dated but spotless and the bed was really comfy. The shower really was bad though! Barely a trickle!

Stayed here during Radio 2 in the park. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Looked after us really well and the food was very good for the price.

Food very reasonably priced staff very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is the food plates could be hot.

Great service and good meal. I had a half jerk chicken, spiced wings with Coleslaw and spice rice. My husband had traditional scampi, chips and peas. Both meals came out steaming hot. Good pace to come for tea especially after 7pm.

We enjoyed our Sunday evening meal, it was delicious 😋 the service was excellent, served with a smile ☺ and a lovely calm relaxed atmosphere. I chose the salmon.. we had a lovely sweet .. must be new on the menu as I can't track it on my WW app .. I'm upset about this .. I think a trifle shortbread and frozen custard?

Nipped in with my dad as we were feeling peckish on the way back from blackpool and could not had had a more pleasant experience, Charlotte the manager was friendly and very welcoming and shell who worked on the front of house served us our food and it was perfect. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Great food every single time we come here. Fresh fish, chicken, curry, etc. Service is always brilliant and the staff are always very helpful. This is now our new regular spot to meet up during the week

Called in when passing and was a nice quiet pub with very good service and quick serving on the food. Only criticism was the toilets could have been a bit cleaner and 1 soap dispenser was empty. But overall a good experience with good food.

Staying next door in what was the Premier Inn - had the chicken skewers salad and jacket potato and a cheeky G&T good value for money whilst staying on my diet - staff friendly and they found me a quiet table as I was eating alone as staying for work
