The staff were very attentive. Food was quite good too. This tends to be quite a quiet place, and only ever come here with work. The location is it's only downside as you would walk right past with it not standing out.

Our 'go to' place for great service, excellent reasonably priced food and a lovely atmosphere. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. We followed owner Bash to this restaurant years ago, a lovely man who always goes the extra mile to ensure his customers are happy. We have never been disappointed, and have had a number of celebrations here. A rare jewel of a restaurant.

We ate early when the restaurant was quiet but at no point were we rushed. The service was amazing. We felt totally relaxed and the food was stunning, we didn’t leave a thing! Would have loved to have left a photo of our food but it smelt amazing and we tucked straight in. Freshly made food, so tasty, we will definitely be back.

Great food and service - duck curry was beautiful and the food was plentiful. Atmosphere was very lively and staff, very friendly and attentive.

These guys are the best. Went to pick up a take away and lost my £15 change somewhere before I got home. When I returned they helped me search the car park until the cash was found. Food was excellent too. Thank you so much!

We had a takeaway last night for the second time from Raj Spice. However, this was not as good as the previous time. I have had terrible food poisoning, from the meal last night. I can only assume it was either the tandoori chicken (starter) or a chicken tikka balti. Moreover, I think we were over charged. As the same order previously cost £19 whereas we were charged £28 yesterday. Sad to say we won’t be returning

My wife and I are regular diners here and often joined by family members. The food is excellent, the service commendable with welcoming and friendly waiters. Unfortunately, our last visit was disappointing. I ordered a large glass of Merlot which is my favourite tipple. However, on this occasion there was clearly an issue with the wine which had a slight brownish tint and tasted spoiled. I asked for it to be replaced. If this was to be conducted in a professional manner the waiter would have brought an unopened bottle and a clean glass to the table. Instead, the waiter returned with a full glass. I tasted the wine and was convinced it was either the same glass of wine or was replaced by wine from the same bottle. Nevertheless, I decided not to pursue the issue. When the bill arrived it appeared higher than was usual. Once again I decided not to query it but thought I would check the bill at home. This was thwarted by the waiter picking the bill up and slipping it into his pocket as we said our farewells. I was later able to do the calculations and confirm we were overcharged by the equivalent of an additional large glass of wine! And we had left a generous tip! We won’t be hurrying back.

Stunning Indian food, all served Beautifully. Highly recommend a visit ! All requests managed with out any trouble. Staff are very helpful and will recommend dishes.

Don't have the fish curry, was undercooked

Was very aloof with me. Tried to overcharge, ignored me when I queried it and then didn't apologise when his boss corrected it. Even when food is average I still go back to places if the customer service is good, it completely changes a persons' outlook on a place. Shame they don't have manners considering it costs nothing.

We visited this Indian while we were staying across the road at the holiday inn express. We booked a table which was good as the place seemed quite busy at 8pm. As soon as we walked into the restaurant it smelt delicious. We were quickly seated and drinks and popadoms orders were taken promptly. The popadoms were typical Indian poppadoms but nevertheless we enjoyed them. They then took our starter and mains orders. We ordered a large variety including a chicken and paneer tikka masala which I was particularly excited to try. The portions were huge and so flavourful, the fish platter and prawn purée especially stood out. We ordered far too much for the mains but we tried our best to eat as much as possible because of how delicious it was. The tikka masalas we’re sweet and complimented the cheese chilli naan. The buhna was also full of flavour. If you’re in the area I’d 100% recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Indian food.

Absolutely lovely take away food. Me and my partner really enjoyed the food we ordered here. Super friendly staff whilst waiting and very clean. We would definitely eat here again and highly recommend.

Often when having a trip to the area, I go here as the food is great and we love the staff. Best one we know and no idea to change venues.

First visit and we really enjoyed our meal. I’ve looked at other reviews but nobody’s mentioned how immaculately spotless the place is. The loos are immaculate, like something in a five star hotel, always a good sign when an establishment has such high standards. Lovely restaurant. The subdued but attractive lighting could be a problem for some.

Haven't been here for awhile. Normally go to the other two obvious choices in Kenilworth. Food was great. However, place was packed and we waited an hour and a half for food. We asked the young server to ask and she just came back with we are very busy. In saying that the food was lovely but little recognition of how long we'd been waiting or attentive staff. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the range of dishes. So go if quiet - i won't be going back for awhile as never had this issue at the other two places.

A disappointing experience on Saturday early evening. Having been previously and enjoyed our meal the experience this time was completely different. The waiter was distracted and served our meal with no care or comment to enjoy our meal. No one came to ask if everything was OK or if we needed more drinks. My partners fish dish was very overcooked and my chicken karahi was pretty tastless. We left before dessert as it was very noisy and we weren't enjoying the experience.

A disappointing meal last night. We have had good food on previous occasions but last night the food was overcooked (fish) and lacking in flavour/spice (chicken karahi). Tge waiter was distracted and didn't engage and no one came to ask how the food was. It was very noisy and so we left before desert. When paying, again no one asked if we'd enjoyed our meal as I would have been truthful.

Actually meant to book the indian eaterie next door as we had tried takeaway a few times and it was very good. booked this by mistake somehow thought it may have been fate so in we went. 4 of us. fairly busy. friendly enough welcome. lighting is way too dark in there. ordered starters using my cellphone flashlight so i could read the menu in the darkness which were papadoms. all ok took a while to allow us to order our main meals. we actually had to grab one of the staff to take the order. he did apologise as he realised we had been there for a while. mains unsurprisingly took a long time to arrive. mains were ok for most but mine which was a chicken tikka pathia wasn't too good. it's a dish i've had at many places and this was bottom of the table easily. other dishes were a normal borin orin chicken curry with no complaints. a chicken biryani which was complimented on greatly so there is the highlight of this review. yay. last and definitely least was a stupid omelette. yes....an omelette and chips ordered at an indian restaurant. i don't even want to discuss it. we did notice that all other customers in there also had waits akin to ours. not good enough. they knew the opening time surely and should have had the chefs ready or something. not many customers arrived after the presumably booked tables but there was a couple. would i return here? why would i? no

We don’t live nearby but this has been our go to Indian restaurant because the food is tasty, cooked to order and served piping hot. This latest visit we arrived very early for our 8pm booking but it didn’t take long to be seated. Our orders were taken, then we waited and waited. All the waiting staff were rushing past but not checking all was ok. After an hour and a half having asked the waitress our food was served. The ‘extremely hot plates’ produced with a flourish were cold, which was an insight for the food to come. It must have been sitting unnoticed in the kitchen for a long long time as it was served only just lukewarm, in cold dishes. No one check whether our food was satisfactory. We couldn’t attract anyone’s attention but at almost 9.30 in the evening we were very hungry. If we had to wait a further hour and a half for it to be replaced we would be served at 11pm which we couldn’t even contemplate. We ate some of the food because we were so hungry but there was a lot left too. We informed the staff who cleared the table who said we should have spoken up. However by the time the food was served we couldn’t face another long wait for it to be rectified. We asked for the bill and said it would not be right for us to be charged in full. The bill arrived and a small amount had been deducted . I would far rather pay full price for a really good meal and be treated as a valued customer. They were very busy and rushing around but that is no excuse. It is such a disappointment because previous visits have been a great experience. The staff have been courteous, looked after us well and food really good. It spoilt what should have been a lovely evening out.

Booked a Table and when we arrived had to wait an hour before it was available Service after that was slow and appalling despite asking three times to take oreders for food /drinks and having to ask how long the food woul be We were etill there 11 pm finishing the food, which was disgraceful Staff and management offered no apologies and tried to make excuses. My erperience of d ining in the Raj Spice has always met with poor service- on this ocxcasion the table was booked by frinds Unfortunately my fears were proved right The table next to us had booked a table at 7.30 and had the same problems AVOID!

Superb. I visited with 7 other dad's from the Leek Wootton football team and had one of the best lamb karahi I have ever had. The flavours were well balanced with just the right amount of chilli heat. The lamb was very tender. The service was excellent and we all had a great evening. We will definitely return.

It's the best curry I have had in Kenilworth. We will 100% be going back, and looking forward to it too!

Very good and friendly service, decent food.

I don't quite know how to pitch this review 🤔. I hope these people will never again have the nerve to serve up the disgraceful excuse for a meal that I was sold. I ordered two vegetable curry's and was given two small half filled containers of what amounted to curried soup along with a small portion of rice. I couldn't even contemplate eating it and thus submit to the cynical ripoff that it was. I regret not posting an image to support my complaint. I immediately returned it and got an unchallenged refund. Shame on you le Raj. Never repeat this disgrace on your own reputation.

Absolutely phenomenal… staying in kenilworth I’ve been working my way through restaurants and came across this gem. Staff are amazing food is hot and tasty. I always try to have a special and this raj spice signature dish met all the expectations… if you’re in kenilworth and love a good Indian meal then you must come here

Called in for a takeaway Sat night, best chicken Biryani and Bombay Aloo I've ever eaten. Vodka and coke while waiting waiting wasn't bad either!

Went here tonight for the 1st and last time time with friends Food was tasteless and warm I never touched my main course they asked me was there anything wrong with my food told them my friends wasn’t impressed with there food but they eat there’s couldn’t believe they charged me for my food went in starving left starving Went to Macdonalds drive in on the way home

Having checked on ordering if an accompaniment dish was available and then waiting nearly one hour to receive our mains, this after needing to ask to order, we were told the accompaniment wasn't available. When we pointed out we had been told it was and that after an hour of waiting it wasn't the waiter told us not to scream, we weren't, and then, by a miracle, our accompaniment appeared from the kitchen. We had been before and found the dish not available hence checking this time, also, the cheaper sauviginon blanc on the wine list is never available, yet the more expensive one always is, why not be honest and say we can only sell the expensive one and take the other off the wine list. A free Bailey's afterwards doesn't make up for the rude service and lack of products

We visited this restaurant for the first time recently rather than go to our usual and I have to say, I was not impressed. We had booked in advance and still had to wait for our table. Menu choice was good and food was OK but service was very, very slow. We waited an hour for our main meal to come out and it just felt that they were under staffed. There were quite a few groups in and the noise was so loud it was very hard to have a conversation with each other on our table. The restaurant needs more soft furnishings to help with this. Will not rush to go back....

Really disappointed tonight. We went last night with family members and dined in over £100 spent and was a fantastic experience. Takeaway collection order. Very poor. Meal was ok at best but £3.50 for 2 miniature samosas (1 tray with two tiny samosas) was very bad value. Really not good. Phoned to complain primarily about Samosas and they did not offer any explanation. Never again.

I have always praised and rated highly Le Raj Spice so it is surprising to report a family birthday meal last night wasn't up to usual standards. I guess they were very short on staff as the service was very slow and the food was ordinary. We trust them enough to return hoping it will be back to high quality.

3rd time of trying in the last 6 months. Thought I’d give it 1 last try. Horrifically disappointed. It simply does not need to be this poor. It’s just Base gravy with what seemed like boiled chicken. No effort to develop the flavours VERY runny....

Went for a family meal for 3. Going here is like going home - you’re part of the family. The food is delicious. My 11 year old thoroughly enjoyed it too. Traditional dishes available as well as speciality dishes. The quality of products were incredible...

We visited for an evening meal. The staff felt slightly rushed, with a wait to order. The staff were otherwise friendly. The lamb curry was quite chewy and not quite up to the standards I hoped for.

This was out third meal out since "Eat out to help out" and our first one here. They were very on the ball in terms of Covid - taking phone number and names and times for their records; hand sanitiser on the tables; tables well spaced out and masks worn by staff. I did think they could have put more than one menu on the table but you can always look at the menu online. The service was good. The food was great and lovely that they had a full menu. Some places have severely reduced their menus. An enjoyable evening out and would recommend.

This was our first meal out post Shielding, we have had Raj Spice takeaways, however, nothing beats eating there. A little apprehensive, however very Covid safe, We were greeted warmly and enjoyed a perfect meal, will be back soon!

Best curry restaurant around. This is my go to place for eating curry on a night out food never disappoints. It's so tasty and best of all it doesn't leave you so full and bloated they give you just the right portions. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend trying it out 5 stars

Very disappointed to find- 1) hair on naan bread 2) naan bread also burnt 3) thick layer of oil on all main courses4) all main dishes tasted the exact same also looked the exact same (tikka masala is usually different colour, consistency and taste to a pathia) In summary the worst indian meal we have ever had and we will no be ordering from here again and we would not recommend to anyone.

We had a ‘lockdown’ takeaway delivery from Le Raj Spice tonight and one a few weeks ago, both of which were absolutely delicious. The food tonight, chana dansak and ginger chicken with rice and nan, arrived within 25 minutes and was piping hot. This is our favourite restaurant in Kenilworth and we’re looking forward to being able to go and eat there again when possible. Thank you to all the staff at Le Raj for making it possible for us to have a treat at home. Stay safe.

We made a last minute reservation on a Saturday night that was accepted with no issues but when we arrived we ended up waiting around an hour for the table. That said they got us a round of drinks to apologise and the food was fantastic. I had a chilli masala and I really enjoyed it.

Great restaurant in a quite location, great seating, very relaxing and peaceful, service is also brilliant as they don't rush you and let you take your time, food is also spot on. Friendly staff also.

Good value, nicely presented food.

I chose this restaurant to go to for a New Year meal as the reviews all rated it as excellent. Everything was excellent except the main meal. Raj Spice restaurant is a very charming looking restaurant set in a quiet location with a nice bar as soon as you walk in. The beer was fresh and the poppadoms but crispy. The nan was slightly buttered and succulent and the rice was nice but too small. The rice should have been 50% more in quantity. It was served in a small sugar type bowel. However the Chicken Karahi was not as described on the menu with a spicy sauce. There was just a tiny amount of sauce with this dish and I would expect more sauce to flavour the chicken. It was too dry IMO. The chicken was also tiny morsels rather than adequate sized pieces. So I had to find these tiny pieces of chicken amongst the rice. The dish was just too dry. Sorry, but for the charming, exquisite environment and nice nan bread etc, I would also expect a top quality chicken curry. Disappointed after paying for a taxi from Coventry each way. None of the waiters even asked me how I was or how my food was.

We went to this restaurant last night. It opened at 5.30pm but we were soaked from the rain and early for our booking.Their service was outstanding - they let us in early to wait and served us drinks. All The staff were excellent especially with the kids, the atmosphere was fantastic and the food was delicious. Our children loved the korma.Will make this a restaurant one of my regulars. Great job Le Raj Spice!!

Go so often for great food we’re always greeted as friends. Found a new favourite last night. Salmon Tikka Karahi, amazing, will certainly have it again.(cooked without oil or ghee on request)
