As a person whom grew up in france I am disgraced by the standard of cuisine in this establishment. The onion soup was served with half chopped onions and the foie gras my partner was served was barly a cm thick as a person who grew up in france I feel this is a disgrace to french culture. I ordered an onglet a poile, which was served medium to well done. Once again a let down to french culture, I feel that london société should represent french culture in a respectful manner especially due to our history

Quality French food, recommendable "maison" (homemade) products, good service in English (of course) and French. Very good quality/price ratio, per se, and even more so compared to many in the environment We will return on our next trip to London.

Lovely setting, but a bit underwhelming. My partner and I recently visited Le Garrick, and while the restaurant has a lovely interior, the overall experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. The food was nice but lacked seasoning, and for the price, we were hoping for something a bit more special. The service team was friendly but seemed very under pressure, which led to some issues with our order. It wasn’t a bad experience, but for the cost, we expected a little more attention to detail. It’s a nice spot for a meal, especially for the atmosphere, but based on our visit, we felt it was a little overpriced for what you get.

A throw back to wonderful French bistros. Fabulous menu if you like that sort of food - we do. We shared calamari dish (bit meagre) then I had a generous Provençal fish stew and my husband had a small, whole chicken and chips. My aperitif of a Kir was made exactly as I asked.

Excellent restaurant offering typical French dishes. We went into reservation and were placed right away. The waitresses spoke French, which is very appreciated. We had the beef bourguignon as well as the hot goat cheese salad, both were excellent. I recommend this place. Small downside for the arrangement of tables in the room, we see that they want to increase the number of customers, which means that we had a table which was in a corridor, and very close to other customers.

This venue is not one for the claustrophobic. Beneath ground the guests are literally crammed into every nook and cranny. As I write this I'm still struggling to find anything quintessentially french about this place other than the flag in the window. The pate starter was presented with about as much finesse as a brick. Out of the fridge on a white plate, a couple of gerkins and some unheated bread. Butter in little sachets you'd find in your local canteen....the elegance of it! The mains marginally better but a duck leg from its size more like a duckling, who if it did see a honey glaze I couldnt taste it, rested on a bed of mashed potato with a gravy more at home in a lamb hotpot. Service was very good in fairness to the staff serving (if a tad saccharine at times). Though they needed to be contorionists bless them to navigate the cosy venue. The darkness didn't help - dans le noir. A lack of light meant you needed your mobile phone torch switched on just to see the menu. I've been to many french restaurants in France and indeed the UK over the years and sad to say this is a poor excuse for one. Good value for money?....afraid not. The mark up on the duck must have been close to £20 of the £24 price tag based on what you actually got. The reviews for Le Garrick bemuse me (bordering on the incredulous in terms of volume, photos and the adjectives used mmmm) as far better french cuisine to be had in the capital. Sadly a french flag and a sliced baguette doesn't cut it A lesson learnt.

Pre theatre dinner and our first visit. We liked the ambiance - very intimate. The service was excellent and so was the food. The steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare and was very tender. Glad they offer half litre carafes of wine as one doesn’t want to drink a whole bottle before a show. Shall go on our list for theatre district restaurants.

Bustling, busy French restaurant. One I've always wanted to try out, but until now for some reason, never got there. So glad I have ! Went for a pre-birthday meal & it lived up to expectations. The scallops were soft & beautifully cooked, as they were only just luke warm, our waitress whizzed them away & within a couple of minutes another plate of delicious warm scallops arrived. No fuss, no bother - excellent. We also had mussels as a starter, followed by steak frites & beef bourguignon, tasty, hot & the steak was cooked to perfection. I did order a side of mash to add to the beef as not too many potatoes in the casserole as this was a big portion filled with melt in the mouth beef ! (So down to personal taste to add mash). Sadly no room for desert this visit. Absolutely will return. Very highly recommended. Our server was excellent too.

We had an exceptional time at Le Garrick restaurant, located in the lively Covent Garden district, to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. This little corner of France in the heart of London is a real gem for lovers of traditional French cuisine. Reservations are strongly recommended (as we did), and we were not disappointed! The dishes offered took us back to France: cassoulet, salmon accompanied by ratatouille, coq au vin, beef bourguignon... And what about the desserts! The crème brûlée, the chocolate fondant, the gourmet coffee, and a special mention for their absolutely divine cheesecake. The starters were just as tasty, with foie gras, delicious onion soup and even snails, all perfectly executed. We were warmly welcomed by a young waiter, speaking excellent French, which is a real plus for those who do not have a good command of English. His kindness and attention made our experience even more pleasant. They even had the kindness to bring a little candle to my mother’s dessert while singing “Happy Birthday”, a kindness that touched us a lot. The setting is cozy and intimate, perfect for sharing a friendly moment with family or friends. Le Garrick is truly a little piece of France in London where we enjoy getting together around delicious and comforting dishes. A must-see address that we warmly recommend!

My boyfriend & I came here after a West End show to have a relaxing romantic meal. It was absolutely lovely! We had the pate for start, which was very tasty (only point is we had a large basket of bread, but small portion of pate, so probably didn’t need as much bread!) I had the confit Duck with spinach for my main, which was so delicious. The mash was the silkiest ever. My boyfriend had the Beef Bourguignon which he really enjoyed immensely. Aside from the food, the service is outstanding. Our waitress was attentive without feeling pushy. The atmosphere feels very laid back, romantic, warm and buzzy but considering its location and it being full, we never felt rushed at any point. Stayed for coffees & aperitifs and had a thoroughly wonderful evening!

We had an amazing experience dining here! Opting to be seated downstairs turned out to be a great choice—the rooms are small but thoughtfully arranged, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We began our meal with a delightful olive appetizer, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. For mains, we tried the Beef Bourguignon and the Salmon, and both dishes were absolutely outstanding. The expression ‘Hidden Gem’ gets used quite frequently and usually never lives up to the expectation. In this instance it’s fully deserved. I had no preconceptions of the place as I was only mildly interested in a place to grab a light lunch when I walked past it as I have done countless times before. Without reading a single review I booked and within 10 minutes I was sitting downstairs in a wonderful environment that is as fun as the happy and attentive staff that welcomed me. I chose the Le Menu option - 2 courses for £17.75 - and went with the Pate followed by the Steak & Frites. I asked for a suggestion for a glass of wine and was recommended a Gammy which I took as a medium. It’s not flashy, it’s not mucked about with, it’s not made to sound like something it’s not. It’s good, honest French food done very well indeed. The steak was cooked perfectly and came with an optional peppercorn sauce (95p extra, the only thing I get grumpy about is paying extra for a sauce like this when ketchup or mayonnaise is free) The fries were typical French Fries, not thrice cooked by Virgins and dipped in Holy Oil, but just French Fries. The Pate was just right and served with small portions of President French butter, which was a nice touch. The service was excellent, the decor perfect and I have vowed to return with friends, as a night in there would be exceptional fun and good value. It’s a hidden gem and I really don’t want you to find it, I want to keep it to myself.

Locate that just around the corner from Leicester Square and Leicester Square tube station this French restaurant at the corner of Garrick Street. On entrance, the menu is displayed on a blackboard. There are some seating upstairs with tables, but we walked downstairs in the seller which I must say is dark crammed and somewhat musky. We had a table for 11 which was flushed against the wall which made it very difficult for guest to get into the seats as the end seating was a bench similar to a church bench and there was a wall which had to walk around to get to the opposite side of the table , via some other diners in a different room. The foie gras was actually below par, the brioche over toasted and dry. The garlic flavoured olives was over powered by the garlic and hazardous to one’s breath! The scallops which came as a three were small scallops and had an Asiatic sauce to it with lemongrass rather than the classical French but tasted good and above average. The cassoulet de Toulouse : the beans with pieces pork and sausage with grilled duck leg was good. The beans was flavoured with the pork pieces which was rich and fat based. The lemon tart was average, too tart and the crème brûlée was above average as nice creamy and the sugar layer not too thick. Wine selection was good some above-average wines but a lot of it was over prized for what it was and poorly rated. Service was average, at times the table was over filled with glasses as we had water glass, champagne before the food and white and red wine. The speed to turnaround of the glasses and removal was slow. The general ambiance was not great crammed crowded noisy musky dark. Toilets was absolutely filthy!

Clean, comfy, had reservations to see Champions League match and were seated promptly. Aldo (manager) was so attentive and personal. Our 2nd time here but not last!!!

My son and I absolutely loved the experience. The classic gin martinis were delicious but the overall experience made it incredible by the skill of the mixologists. My son and I were visiting from the US to see our team, Newcastle, play at Wembley. This was an omen for our success😍 Thank you!
