If you have been to the now closed location in Covent Garden, the new location in Mayfair will be a disappointment. The new spot has white marbles counters and a narrow kitchen compared to the warm woods and deep kitchen of the old place in Covent Garden. I was the first guest that evening, arriving exactly at my 6pm reservation time. There was a black sesame seed on the counter where I was seated. The menu is limited compared to other locations I have visited and with only one tasting menu for dinner. Surprisingly, there seemed to be more pre fixe options for lunch. Noeme, the sommelier, was excellent. She was the highlight of my meal with outstanding recommendations for pairings with meal. Each wine was expertly described as well as the reason she chose it to go with a particular course. I thought the scallops were slightly overcooked. The langoustines were excellent but the server didn’t describe the micro herbs salad and various sauces and seasoning on the plate. He just said, “here are some lovely langoustines.” My Japanese A5 Waygu was excellent. Cooked exactly as requested and unbelievably tender and flavorful. However, I assume the chef put a lot of work into the tiny diced vegetables on the top and the spoonful of salad on the side. The server didn’t describe any of these. Just “here if you Waygu steak.” The mashed potatoes were outstanding, as usual. But, at every other Joel Robuchon I have dined at, the potatoes came with a story about mashed potatoes being a passion of Joel Robuchon regarding something simple that could be made outstanding with a little extra effort. (The secret is whisking like crazy and adding a LOT of butter.). In this case, “here are some complimentary mashed potatoes.” I had the Chocolate Sensation for dessert. This time it was delivered by a female server, who took the time to describe the various layers and textures. It’s probably a better choice for lunch than dinner.

So many positives in that restaurant. Service is very friendly and professional. The menu offers a LOT of choice which is great. Raviolo of langoustine and the soufflé are excellent. Very good. The size of portions is intelligent. The wine list is also clever and not too overpriced which is rare. Not cheap but not overpriced (see the Ritz and Ducasse if you want to have an idea of what overpricing is!). They have a great team at the bar who makes excellent cocktails. Sadly, one of them is leaving to Robuchon- Madrid but hopefully the team in place is good. Was not a cocktail man before but this is the restaurant that made me discover the complexity of cocktails. A few things worth altering in the proceeding and in some dishes imho but no need to go into details here. A solid restaurant. Interestingly, the chef was away on my visit on well-deserved holidays, I think. I would have guessed that.

This place is sadly far from the experience you get at other L’Atelier locations like Paris or Las Vegas. Starting from decor that reminds of an art deco diner and ending with staff that’s inattentive and rushed. Food was good-old and familiar dishes, but they didn’t shine enough to compensate for the meh experience - scallops were the size of pennies and sweetbreads were of room temperature. Water was not refilled until we asked and we were not offered extra bread. Finally, the bill took 30min to arrive. We make a point of visiting L’Atelier if it is in the city of our destination, but this one wasn’t worth it.

The setting is beautiful: a lovely art deco room, all red, black and gold. The service is amazingly good: unobtrusive but warm and friendly, highly professional but also wonderfully relaxed and laid back. And the food is stunningly good: beautifully presented, subtle and tasty, the very best of French cuisine. There is plenty of excellent wine on offer at reasonable prices; and, for food of this quality, it’s real value for money. My wife and I had a perfect evening here. We have dined at numerous Michelin starred restaurants in London, in the Americas and Asia. In our opinion, this is up there with the very best anywhere and simply the best in London.

A wonderful evening. The restaurant is reminiscent of the original L’Atalier at Covent Garden, that we used to dine at frequently. The colour scheme is the same, but if anything, this restaurant is even more beautiful and opulent in an art deco style - a lovely homage to Joel Robuchon’s legacy. The food was exquisite - I had the beetroot starter and the quail as my main - and the service was first class. Lovely touches reminding you of the original L’Atalier, from the Matisse inspired bread basket to Joel Robuchon’s signature mash - it really is just as good.

Dinner yesterday. Advise you to sit at the counter as you can see the cooks cooking your meal. An excellent restaurant with excellent dishes and excellent service. As simple as that. Just hope they keep the level of cuisine & service I tasted yesterday over time. This restaurant has been plagued with many changes on the floor and in the kitchen over the years. It now needs stability imho. Marketing is another issue. I see quite a few restaurants in London at the moment serving high quality cuisine like Pavyllon, but being not as busy as they should be. And if it is not the service, not the cuisine, not the location, not the price levels, it can only be the mark... Yep! The wagyu beef with an excellent quality of salt and a great sauce was way above what you would expect at an Atelier R. The berlingots, kind of ravioli were for once in a restaurant well cooked and with the right texture. Way above some I recently tasted in a 2* in the east of London. The souffle was perfect and I believe I am an expert in souffles!! Ingredients tasted of good quality here (many hig-end restaurants are cutting corners on that front because of rising raw mats prices…Big mistake imo..). Good wine list, they don’t try to scr…you. There is another restaurant in London doing a great job, seriously great, called 1890. I reviewed again their wine list recently and sadly for me I decided to not go as there was absolutely no great wine at normal, even London prices. What a shame but restaurants have to realise that if you go to a fine dining establishment, it is not to drink water because the wine list is pricing you out. This is NOT the case here. Service is friendly and excellent with a good RM. When I visit restaurants, I always try to guess within 30 sec if I can spot the RM. If I can’t, typically, service is not as rigorous as it should be. They seem to have a good one here. They serve too much bread I think which is a shame as it is good but I bet waste must be pretty high. Last two visits, I had a cocktail, and they have a very good team. Visitors should try it imho. I don’t know if they are going to introduce events like Sunday chicken roast, some decoupes en salle, some crepes flambees, some wine diners, some theme diners around an ingredient etc… but I believe that restaurants should now offer more than just fine cuisine (once a quarter, a month). My opinion anyway. An excellent restaurant in its category. I just hope they stay focus all year long.

The experience here starts with the doorman, who just about greets everyone that walks by him as he did us for the last two days. Such genuine charm and courtesy is rare today. We had reservations with friends we had not seen for 4 years at a nearby notorious restaurant, but too late we read the horrendous Trip Advisor reviews, so we decided to switch horses at the last minute. All the folks at Robuchon were wonderful and a credit to the late Chef. We sat at a perfect round window table and ate our way through the menu. As this is a major food experience, remember they offer up various bonus "tastes" throughout the meal. The meal was magnificent, as were all the servers. Very expensive wine list but we found a decent bottle of Quincy at 65. Noteworthy dishes were; soup de chataigne, le Poineau, le souffle, le bar, la caille, le Riz, les saint Jacques and the sides too. We loved it all so much, thank you

Not very good at all, I'm afraid. I went to Robuchon's Atelier in Covent Garden many years ago and have fond memories of it. The spin-off in Clarges Street is a very pale imitation. Lacklustre foie gras. "Wagyu" beef that frankly might as well have been a cut from Waitrose. One decent glass of wine but the others underwhelming. Staff were alright but not exceptional. Sad to see a storied name run down after his death. Avoid.

Fine dining in the heart of London with a beautiful ambiance. The extensive wine list complements the high-quality food and impressive dish presentation. The perfect balance of diverse flavors is enhanced by premium-quality ingredients. Five stars for the entrees, four stars for the main courses. However, a minor concern: fruit flies were present, which seemed irrelevant to the overall experience.
