Le Bistro Pierre in Bradford

Lovely food, my partner loved the calamari, beautifully cooked says it's the best she ever had. There wasn't anything that wasn't delicious, for me the pannacota was the highlight, it's my favourite and was fabulous. We sent compliments to the chef, who is obviously very skilled. Lara our waitress was helpful and knowledgeable. She's a real asset.

The burger is so gooooooooooooooooooooood I loved it. The meat was juicy and had no grit at all, the bun was chewy and fluffy. The cheese was gooey and lovely and the chips. Don’t even get me started on how good the chips were. 10/10 would eat burger again.

We had a surprisingly good meal at Bistro Pierre in Ilkley - surprising because the reviews seemed somewhat mixed. The menu is quite varied with a range of offerings and daily specials. The starters were small, but adequate and well presented. The main courses were cooked well and delicious (two beef, one duck and one veg tagine). The dauphinoise potatoes were fab. It is always a delight to be served by pleasant, cheery staff and Lara (especially), Lily and Marcus provided excellent, efficient and good humoured service. We will return.

We called in for lunch. Food was typical pub food. Well cooked and good value. Staff were so friendly and relaxed. Dog friendly

Charming restaurant with superb food. The Special John Dory was cooked perfectly. Chicken And Harvest Salad both were very good. We shared starters and desserts, Choc Mousse was the best ever!

Ordered the Bistrot Pierre Menu for 2. Decided to go for the calamari and the asparagus for our starters. Calamari was good but 3 skinny pieces of asparagus on a smear of mayonnaise is not a starter. Sent it back and ordered another calamari. For main course we both ordered the rump steak £5 supplement which was great. Grace our waitress was lovely throughout and made sure we didn’t feel uncomfortable at having to complain. We asked for the manager who explained the new menu was set by the chefs in head office. Clearly they need a rethink because people will not pay full whack for 3 skinny bits of asparagus. They’ll either send it back (and it be wasted) or not complain but tell all their friends about the appalling starter. Would we try it again - yes but we’d ask about the portion sizes of the starters before ordering.

My husband knows this place through his job and he was keen for us to try the restaurant. A great menu and the service was fantastic. We had a starter and a main course because we were peckish and because the food was that good.

Went with friends for Sunday lunch. Carrots soft and floppy, tender stem broccoli impossible to cut through and roast potatoes like supermarket frozen ones. How difficult is it for a professional kitchen to cook a basic meal that most people cook at home and completely ruin it? Trying to support a local business but we’ll definitely not return.

ANOTHER great meal here.I’d asked for a specific place to sit,and when I arrived,was taken to wrong seating.Abbey sorted things out with a big smile on her face.I walk on arm crutches all the time and I need them near me. Don't normally write reviews. Called in about 11am with my wife. No staff anywhere. Eventually after wandering around I found our waiter dealing with a hotel booking in another room. Ordered two cappuchinos (both barely luke warm) Ordered French croissant toast and scrambled eggs on toast. When the dishes arrived the croissants had several bits of egg on/underneath them...can only assume they were warmed in the same pan as the scrambled eggs. On the latter, you can't really go wrong with scrambled eggs but I have never seen a smaller piece of toast. Went to pay the bill and it was hunt the waiter. On mentioning the egg all the waiter said, "I'll mention it to the chef" With hindsight we should have pointed the problem at the outset and either sent the dish back or better still walked out. Paid the £22 and left. Shan't be going back.

Highly recommend - we went for dinner & returned the next morning for breakfast. All the food was tasty, well presented & reasonably priced. The staff were friendly & helpful. The restaurant was clean with a good atmosphere. Service was quick & we’d definitely return again.

Went for dinner after watching the Ilkley Tennis Tournament with my partner. Ordered a 3 course meal, food was great and fresh! Staff were lovely and polite. Would definitely visit again in the future.

Lovely early father's day treat from my daughter. We shared the bread starter with salted butter and the honey coated chorizo Main was pork medallions, dauphinoise, mustard beurre blanc, green beans and caramelised Granny Smith apples. For pud we shared sticky Toffee madelines and chocolate cherry giant profiterole. All washed down with a nice bottle of picpoul

We normally eat here when we come to Ilkley and I have previously given it 5 star reviews. I honestly couldn’t this time. The staff were ok and my steak was fine but my wife felt the chicken had a burnt taste, the green beans were rock hard and she didn’t enjoy it. We’ve always liked coming here and we will come back on our next visit when hopefully it will be back to its normal high standard.

This is the most amazing restaurant and service I’ve ever experienced . Top tier staff with great vibes and great grub , definitely recommend and will be coming back. Phil and coco was so welcoming made us feel comfortable and was a great help deciding drinks and food.

Staying in a local hotel, and decided to visit Bistrot pierre last night for dinner. My son has a disability and finds it difficult to speak to people he dosen’t know. I spoke to a young chap called Zack, (who was our server) He was extremely understanding and made sure my son felt comfortable and confident enough to talk and express himself. He suggested some other restaurants to visit during our short stay in the Ilkley area, such a helpful lad and a credit to hospitality service. The steak frites was amazing and so tender. The house red wine was nice at a reasonable price, will definitely be visiting again when we are in the area again. My wife, my son and I, all enjoyed our meals thoroughly!

We went for one of the venue's six course Soirée Gastronomique evenings, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and because the food here has always been good. We were not disappointed by this menu or the food that was served. Each of the six courses was delicous: the mushroom soup starter was peppery and so good; the poached eggs with asparagus were perfect (my wife is very fussy about eggs!); I had the salmon and my wife had the lamb, which we both enjoyed; and the dessert my favourite, a combination of cream, ice cream, strawberries and fresh whipped cream. The staff here are very nice, quick and efficient and friendly - we really enjoyed the experience, thank you.

We popped in for lunch and was very impressed with the quality of the food that was a lunchtime special. I had a salmon and cod fishcake which was nicely presented with a poached egg on top and husband had a cottage pie. We decided to go back the following evening for dinner. Husband had a burger which he said was the best burger he ever had and I had a risotto which had so many flavours which complimented each other. The creme brulee was absolutely delicious too. Compliments to Mario the chef for the beautiful food and to James who was very professional and made our visit a memorable occasion.

We’re new to the area and used to go to PB in Harrogate before it closed which we really liked. Our booking was for 7.45pm. It was clear our waitress serving us was in a rush to get us through and asked us for our order within a couple of minutes of arriving. Hadn’t looked at the menu! Our staters were out on the table after 5 mins of ordering and our mains 5 mins after our staters were taken away. Did make us wonder if the food must be sitting waiting to be zapped in a microwave! By 8.35 we’d had main/starters and she immediately asked us for our desert order. We asked for a break which she didn’t seem happy with. We didn’t see her again. It was clear her shift had ended. After a while another waiter took our order and another waitress brought our bill. The food was ok but having planned a nice evening out and a relaxed 3 course meal it felt like a fast food experience! We were out and home by 9.30! Won’t be returning in a hurry.

We took our 96 year old mother for Christmas lunch . We were shown to a table that was tucked away in a corner which was totally lacking in atmosphere. Service was very slow and we were forgotten about for long periods of time . Starters when they eventually came were adequate but we again waited a long time for the plates to be cleared and drinks to arrive . Staff had clearly forgotten we were there and admitted this when they asked if we had been served our main course. We hadn’t and it arrived shortly afterwards. This course was the worst I’ve ever seen it was tasteless turkey and overdone vegetables in a thick gravy which tasted very odd . The amount of gravy sloshed on the food was clearly to cover up the fact that the food was not up to scratch . Desserts arrived and the Christmas pudding although tasty was the smallest portion I’ve ever been served . This was not a cheap meal (£80) a head and was disgraceful. The bill bore no resemblance to what we owed and I had to question this twice . Needless to say i did not pay the service charge . We will sadly not be back .

Absolutely dreadful! If I could offer a negative rating I would have done as 1 is a very generous score. Back in September, I booked Christmas Day lunch for four people and made a specific table reservation to accommodate an elderly, partially sighted guest who needed natural light to enjoy her meal. We arrived at the venue on Christmas Day itself to find this request had been scrubbed by the venue, seemingly to accommodate more, larger table bookings. The table we were initially offered was not at all suitable and the hapless Duty Manager (who was outside in the car park on a cigarette break as we arrived, adding to the fag ends and litter accumulated there) said he could do nothing to help. A female server intervened and, to her credit, found us a better table albeit we had to use our own antibacterial wipes to clean this as it was dirty and greasy. The service was shockingly bad, with a number of clearly inexperienced servers drafted in who took ages to serve food which had been preordered over a week ago. The food itself was dire. Poor quality, badly prepared and unappetisingly presented, most of it looked as if it had been pre made and reheated in a microwave. We left without eating more than a forkful of the worst turkey dinner I’ve EVER been served. Bone dry meat, cut as thick as a steak and sitting on top of overcooked vegetables and drowned in a sea of vile, brown gravy to try and conceal the carnage. The pictures attached show what the brand’s website suggested we could expect and the reality of the worse-than-school-dinners slop we were served. A complete disgrace and those managing this place should be totally ashamed of themselves. I’m furious the venue ruined our Christmas Day. I’m also livid to have lost £20 deposit per guest for eating virtually nothing on the day. I won’t be back and the brand has lost a long-standing, loyal customer.

We had an absolutely gorgeous lunch here! It was a busy time but the service was great and the food was delicious. Proper good stuff! Rod and Emily were superstars and we would definitely come here again - maybe for Sunday lunch next time. A wonderful treat!

Been before won't be going back. I took me boyfriend for breakfast in August and loved it so decided to go again today. Waitress took our Order after 5 minutes delivered our drinks no problems. We received our breakfast - Steak and eggs and a full English- the menu states steak eggs tomatoes chives and sour dough croutes he received beans no chives or croutes. My breakfast was inedible - the scrambled eggs we swimming in grey water (not sure what else to call it) and the sausage was pale and cold inside when I went to eat it. The whole plate has a very strange smell it, the toast was cooked on one side - think they had forgotten to turn it over but the bacon looked nice. I returned the entire plate saying it was inedible. I don't think the waitress liked this as her whole manor changed after that. She did ask if I would like something else to which I replied no please just take that away. The experience was disappointing and tbh I think if I had of eaten it I would of been ill. Will not be going back and the only reason that I gave them a 2 is because my boyfriend said the floater coffee was nice and so was my coffee

It wasn't at very very quiet when we went, so it lacked atmosphere. We both chose the 2 course menu which included a glass of wine each. My husband started with Mushrooms on sourdough, which were OK. As main courses we both chose the Steak with Frites. The garlic sauce on my husband's steak was fine, my pepper sauce was very pedestrian. I followed it with Creme Brulee which was very good. It was a little disappointing as we have had some great meals in the Plymouth branch and this was just average. Bill came to £53.96 inc service. We were further disappointed that we could not use the £10 voucher that had been emailed to us as members of their loyalty club because apparently the physical membership cards have been phased out and we didn't have the app on either phone.

Last time we came here we were disappointed. Thought we’d give it another go and pleased to say it’s back to its best. The food and service were first class.

Having eaten at the Bistro Pierre in Plymouth, I was really looking forward to eating in this place, and also staying overnight. It’s a very poor imitation of its Plymouth cousin though. In comparison with Plymouth, the Ilkley version has a very limited menu, featuring the ubiquitous burger and chips, deep-fried calamari, and sticky toffee pudding - all of which are about as French as a plastic plant pot. The Bavette steak is not a bavette, but a fairly average piece of frying steak. There’s nothing desperately terrible about it, so do go along if you want; but it is a very average Gastro pub, offering standard pub food. It is worth ringing them though, if only to hear the hilariously tacky voice message in a heavy French accent. The rooms are a bit tired and in need of a redecoration, but on the whole okay. I would love to tell you about breakfast, but having waited for 20 minutes for some poached eggs to arrive, I gave up and left.

Amazing restaurant. Fabulous food. We were a family of 5 and one was a small child. Great kids menu that catered for her. We all had 3 courses and every single one of them was absolutely delicious. It was my Dad's birthday and they helped by providing a candle for his dessert which was so nice. Really good portion sizes. My husband had a steak which was large and cooked to perfection for him. Service was great and it was a lovely relaxed environment. We will be returning (they do a great Sunday lunch so we will try that next time). Huge thanks to the restaurant for a fantastic experience.

Having previously dined chez Bistrot Pierre at Eastbourne and Southport, a visit to Bistrot Pierre Ilkley was a must. To say it exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. As loyal members of the exclusive Club Bistrot Pierre we were even treated to a £1 crème brûlée!

We've been here lots of times before, and the food was fine as usual. However, there was a misunderstanding about the order and when the bill came, the server didn't have authority to override the till. Surely there should be somebody on duty on a Saturday evening who can sort out problems? We were entertaining family so paid it rather than make it awkward for them, but came away very disappointed. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby and we'll go somewhere else next time.

The food was excellent, I had the steak frites which was cooked exactly how I asked for it, followed by the creme brulee, which was beautiful. The service was friendly and quick.

It pains me to write this as on our 2 previous visits we’ve given this 5 stars. So what’s changed ? It didn’t have the same ambience and it all felt a bit rushed. We felt the food while enjoyable wasn’t the same standard as previously. We also ordered a cheeseboard which came with two tiny bits of bread, no crackers and not much cheese for nearly £8. To cap it all they’ve started adding an ‘optional’ 5% service charge which is on the bill before they ask you if you want it taken off. I am totally against this, I think it should be the other way, they should ask you if you want to add 5%, anyway what’s wrong with good old fashioned tipping ?

The pub was absolutely brilliant. The young lad (Zak) was so warm and welcoming.He allowed me to try a few of the ales to help me decide which one I wanted. The wife and I will be returning in the near future. 5 stars.

There was nothing wrong with the food and the service was friendly enough, but the whole experience was underwhelmimg. It was difficult to specify exactly what was missing but the place seemed to lack atmosphere. The very casual dress of the staff did not help.

We called in after Ilkley carnival and the person in charge wasn't sure if they could fit 6 of us into a half empty restaurant. They let us in and the service was appalling. After ordering our meals they eventually brought us the wrong starters, then came the main courses and a cheese burger without the cheese, which then took another 5 minutes to correct. We ordered drinks which never arrived and then they automatically added a 10% service charge to the bill. The whole sorry meal took 3.5 hours for us to have a 3 course meal, and at least three other groups of people had come in, eaten and left before we eventually left. We will not be using this restaurant again
