Le Beachcomber in East Lindsey

Holiday romance!! Had a great holiday with my family. The beachcomber was amazing from start to finish. Food was amazing. The staff here are great you feel like one of the family. Always a great time weather it’s karaoke which my niece loved she’s only 10 and they encourage all ages to get up and have a go. Damien I think the dj was called, literally fell in love with him made my holiday complete. Unfortunately I lost my phone on last night on way back to caravan and lost his number but hopefully when I next visit in October he will be still there. I just hope he sees this and know I haven’t and wouldn't have ghosted him. 100 percent recommend the Sunday lunch and kids meals are great! See you in October! Can’t wait.

Came for dinner with family and the food was terrible, chicken very dry, chips over cooked and hollow in middle, children had broccoli and was very hard, was not worth the money at all and portions were very small

Lovely experience! Went in the afternoon and the staff were amazing. Really good for children and dogs. Very nice and well kept. Then wanted to come back for food at teatime but was too late, so sat outside for some drinks and again, staff so friendly!

9 family members ate here and all were happy with the food they received. I had a burger which was really tasty.The service was fairly quick and friendly.

11 o clock not many in but all tables reserved why you always fill the place without reserved tables really disappointed been coming for Sunday lunch for years 21st January.

Food was vile, couldnt even be described as mediocre as its was so vile I wouldnt give it to a dog. Manager not very receptive. Waiter was pleasant though but it was out of his hands... bowl of chips came out with a parsnip in them. Steak was so tough it's was a joke. Nachos cheese was microwaved and no taste. Chips looked like they had been laying around since lunch time. Avoid!!

What a great pub. We visited 2 days over the weekend while staying nearby. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, fun, and fantastic music. The smell from the Sunday carvery was so tempting. Would definitely visit again Oh, and don't forget to have a toffee vodka shot.

Decided to leave Butlins site & pop in here for breakfast.. got to the door & incide stunk of urine & sick..I'll stick to the boathouse in future..

We were staying at butlins on a 80s weekend and thought we would leave site for a change so a short walk we found this brilliant place. The atmosphere was brilliant on the Saturday afternoon we arrived at about 1pm and stayed until 6pm and it was that good we came back on the Sunday for six hours. The staff are so friendly and hard working. We will definitely recommend and return we will pre book our favourite table number one.

Dropped in for lunch . Very loud inside . Carvery very poor. Only allowed 2 small roast potatoes, meat options chicken or turkey pieces, Vegetarian option was a vegetable lasagne , which I would not call a lasagna. Small pieces of peppers In tinned tomato and a beige sludge on the top which resembled mashed potatoes?? Don't know didn't eat ! 🤮 . Disappointed . Loss of custom , not good Disappointed

Had the 2 for £14 was really impressed of the quality me and hubby had fish n chips and was best fish I’ve had for age’s lovely crispy batter sauce since n had ham egg n chips the ham was nice thick hand carved again beautiful daughter inlaw had sausage mash again lovely creamy mash n meat gravy definitely worth a look

A great place of your looking for daytime entertainment. They always put a singer on in the afternoons. Good atmosphere when they draw the crowds from butlins weekenders. The only downside is the music is often very loud when your sitting inside. Wine prices good. But avoid a double gin and tonic £9.

Been going hear for 20 years not been for a couple yrs went bk it all looks great but the food was such a let down place wasn't like it used to be

Been here since Monday. Been in this pub for various meals and drinks everyday. Called in for dinner today. Ordered bangers and mash and half way through my meal there was a fly sitting in my mash not on top but inside. Asked to speak to management who was useless. Nothing resolved. No apology. Was just offered ice cream as a sorry for a £12 meal, baring in mind in 3 days we have spent hundreds. No remorse for anything at all. Point blank refused a refund on the one meal with a shocking attitude. I would avoid this place as much as possible. Shocking customer service. Will definitely never be returning. Management need to learn some better customer service skills as not another penny will be spent here.

I am currently staying on a weekend away at butlins and have decided to come for a meal with my family at the beachcomber inn. Upon this experience I ordered a steak with added scampi cooked medium rare, as you make be aware this is an £18 + meal all together as well as 4 other meals and many drinks. However, upon receiving my steak I was greeted with what I can only described as an uncooked stone cold pile of grissle, as well as stone cold chips and peas. I can give credit to my mediocre size portion of scampi however as a full grown adult eating £18 4 pieces of scamp did not touc the sides of my stomach. The real issue besides the inedible food was the sheer rudeness and appalling attitude of the shift manager ! Description: Tall, lanky, ginger short reciding hair, glasses, stubbly moustache and goat like beard, timid and extremely quietly spoken to the point a church mouse would be louder. He didn’t offer as much as an apology and his only solution and problem solving skills expanded to a free slush! Now upon my £18 mush for food a free drink worth the value of a child’s slush is simply not acceptable as well as his appalling attitude. Working in a pub myself I wouldn’t put this man in charge of cattle never mind a busy pub. Simply appalled by my experience and simply not good enough. I will be putting an online review to not recommend this place. UPDATE: complaint was lodged (the above) nothing was resolved after contacting direct.

Did Butlins 80s weekend and was told to come here for drinks & Sunday Dinner. We just had drinks but the portion size of the dinners where amazing and smelt great. Fun afternoon with DJ's and Karaoke. Small Queue at the bar but sorted quickly. Had breakfast here as well and cant fault it.

Popped in for Sunday carvery and bank holiday entertainment.. the carvery was good but all veg was boiled nothing roasted. Meat was good and portion size for £10 was worth it. Beers good, atmosphere was good. Karaoke was ear piercing but we had a good day there. Thanks again.

Fantastic pub by the beach , at Jacksons corner. Staff warm and welcoming. Brilliant entertainment and great atmosphere. Amusement area for kids. Out door beach bar in the summer, huge beer garden and outside stage. Awesome line up of artists on their Facebook page. Icecream parlour too offering a selection of lovely icecreams and fresh doughnuts. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (This is not the Beachcomber at Butlins like some reviews say)

After looking through lots of reviews I’d just like to point out that this page is for The Beachcomber on the sea front . Reading through some of the reviews , by what they say they have eaten, different queue for food till , staffs names etc I’m pretty sure ppl that visit the beachcomber in BUTLINS are posting their reviews on this page ..... please check it’s the right beachcomber before posting . Had breakfast here while stopping at Butlins. Half the price and twice as nice well worth the walk along the beach. Will do the same next time I stop at skeg

We had our Christmas lunch here, the food was excellent but the staff were even better! Lois who was our waitress was an absolute gem and was so good with my boys. I would highly recommend the place.

We came here on out last night at butlins. It was about 8:15pm. There was a few people still in and it was clean and staff were friendly. We are a family of 5. We had 2 chicken tikka feasts , 1chicken tikka masala , 1 junior meal which was is a 3 course meal. My son have cheesy nachos with dip , cheese burger chips and cucumber as a main and a ice cream sundae for desert . And a bowl of chips for my 4 year old and she ate from every ones else plate aswell. The food was very nice and came in good time . We enjoyed our meal and would defiantly go back if we were to visit butlins Skegness again.

We booked in advance for dinner, a large group of us, there was very slow service at the bar, however I do understand it was busy, and I would have given them the benefit of the doubt if they were friendly when we were served, but they were rude! Some of the meals were average and the steaks were terrible !! It was far too well done and when we spoke to staff they were not at all interested. It’s very loud, chavy and frankly represents a working mans club near the sea! Avoid where able!

Once again I had a Mixed Grill, it’s always my go to meal because to cook all the meat correctly shows the skill of the Chefs. This wasn’t the biggest mixed grill of all time but it was ample to feed a big guy like me without leaving me stuffed I was certainly content.Steak was requested rare and that was delivered, chicken moist as was the pork. Lincolnshire sausage was lovely as were all the little bits n bobs filling the plate, I was especially impressed by the home made chips as those are usually frozen in holiday camps. Wife, son and mother in law also had good meals. The lasagna looked especially nice. Looking forward to returning next year

We went as a family of 5 to the Sunday carvery, we used to go here a lot as it won awards. It was the worst I have had in a long time, one of the more expensive ones around as well. The peas and roasts were definitely not fresh probably aunt Bessie's, meat was very average, cauliflower cheese was mushy and tasteless, Yorkshire puddings were dry and tough to cut. The veg selection was carrots, peas, cauliflower cheese? And a cabbage based item. I left most of it and told the gent collecting plates that it wasn't the best. We wont go back there again when its expensive and there are better close by.

Over a hour wait for two fish and chips and a childs meal - when it arrived it had parts that was over cooked and parts that was frozen and raw - we was given two pieces of cake to make up for terrible meal - the cake was stale and disgusting and went in the bin - BEST PART OF THE MEAL WAS THROWING IT UP LATER ON

We had smothered chicken which was really nice, a junior smothered chicken, a junior burger and a tots chicken strips. Its really good how it's £1 to upgrade to 3 courses in the children's section, my 3 children all upgraded. Theres only 1 choice of starter for tots which is abit pants and the icecream for pudding is only 1 little scoop. The junior menu has a lot more choice my 2 enjoyed there nachos and cheese with dip as well as there food and the sundaes they had after which was a decent size. Us 2 adults ordered a dessert also I had the chocolate fudge cake which was a big serving and I couldn't finish it, the other desert was the cheesecake which apperently was really nice.Overall enjoyed our food and drinks.

Honestly, I had been to a few local places the days prior to eating here and this was the best food by far. it was all cooked beautifully, tasted so fresh and so much like love had just been poured into it — which was miles better than any other place we had visited. the staff were wonderful and friendly, even small things that they did like coming into the bathrooms fairly regularly to ensure all the stalls had toilet paper are signs of a fantastic establishment. came last year too and the experience was just as wonderful. the staff were accommodating too, no complaints and we will definitely be back!

Not busy around 2.30 pm 26/07/19, very disorganised and rude staff. After joining the only queue, staff informed us that it was a drinks only this side, asked to queue at the 3 available tills so I moved forward and waited ages behind a family ordering a huge amount of food and drinks. Watching other diners quickly get served. The next till became available and no customers were present so I moved across to be told by the sour faced member of staff that there was a queue on the ramp and that she would not serve me. I said I'd been in the queue for a while and was next in line and she called another customer from the new single file queue forward and ignored my request to speak to a manager. I had to rejoin the queue and wish I hadn't bothered. The food wasn't worth the wait. Staff have no knowledge of food intolerance or allergies and no customer service skills. I would describe them at best as robots. The floor staff were friendly if a little eager to clear the tables before everyone had finished eating.

Second night of our weekend in Skeggy, I will say it is not a romantic type of pub, but I will also say it is a great bar scene pub with fabulous food to go with it. Good prices on food and drinks.

This beach bar is one of the best in Skegness great food, great staff excellent customer services and the music second to none worth a visit especially on a bank holiday the atmosphere is fabulous Happy Days x

food was ok although toast was burnt and bacon was really fatty. the Barman who served us wasn’t very friendly and made minimal conversation which was just one word answers. had to fetch our own menus then when the breakfast was brought over, was told ‘help yourself to cutlery’ but didn’t say where and would of helped if the waitress brought some over whilst bringing the food. simple improvements to be made

staff were rude and abrupt... we ordered 3 main meals and a child meal and the next table to us was a group of youngsters with a very large dog who was sick everywhere putting us off our food ..understandable... any way we spoke to management and they said it's not their problem...rude is an understatement...I will never be coming back here and I'm here most weekends as have caravan nearby

My Father and I visited yesterday after flying into Skegness Airfield. After being disappointed the neighbouring fish and chip shop was shut we decided to try the Beachcomber. Unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience. The restaurant was empty with the exception of two other couples. We went to the bar to order some lunch, clearly disturbing the member of staff who huffed and puffed as he left eating his meal to come and serve us. He was extremely rude and unwelcoming, one word answers and obviously wanting to get rid of us so he could finish his own meal. This got pedantic to the point he asked us which table we were on. I said we had not yet picked a table but would eat outside (in the large seating area that had not one other person in it.). He stated we needed a table number as he needed to know where to send the food- I pointed out there was no one else out there but he insisted we went out and got a table number. Food was distinctly average pub grub. Will not return-politeness and a welcoming attitude costs nothing!!!

We visted here for a Sunday carvery as a big group. It was excellent value for money carvery was £6.95 for an adult and it was good quality would defiantly recommend. The only thing is it was quite loud whilst eating you dinner they had a singer on in the afternoon however good atmosphere in there.

On Sunday night took some of the lads we support to le beachcomber, very quiet but had a few people in. The lads love singing and it was karaoke night . Has a brilliant night and there were some really good singing from you and old .Luckily for everyone I’ll stick to writing reviews and not sing . The ‘dj’ was friendly and could hold a note himself . The lads would love to go again on out next visit and they were made welcome in this friendly bar.

We where a party of 4 Adults and 4 Children and went for lunch as our normal place was full. We really enjoyed the food it had improved a lot since our last visit a couple of years age. It was reasonably priced. We did find the background music much to loud it was more like a nightclub and we found it difficult o have a conversation. Food Good

We came here last year for a quick drink and it was nice and cheap. We were staying in butlins Decided to come or food this week as looked quite nice when we last came. Well well We ordered four steak And ale pie and it was the most disgusting food we had ever eaten. It was like tinned jelly steak which was warmed up properly We order at 5 pm and by 5:05 we had our meal on the table well that said enough. Tinned meat pie with under cooked soggy pastery and watery gravy cold in a bowl Absolutely shocking was the word Worst £50 ever spent on holiday Would never go back not even for a drink I asked the man who was a regular what the food was like and his words were Well depends what you have' whilst screwing his face up I should of listened to my gut when that happened. That said enough really Chefs needs replacing quick Not a place where they value custom Your just holiday people Cattle really Never again The beach comber in butlins are not linked at all They are fantastic

Where do I start??? Started using this place around 10 years ago, very friendly and welcoming and staff seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. Now after visiting what a change and not for the better. A refit to be fair was needed but bright down lighters need a few watts removing so we don't get sun burn from them. For some bizzare reason the tables have been pushed together to make long banquet style eating.... Why would people want to knock elbows with someone they don't know???? Strange. A cold and un welcoming feel is apparent now! Even a staff member agreed with us. Dogs are noticeable, particuarly the one who jumped at my son, and then the owner took offence because we didn't appreciate that inside. Overall disappointed and unfortunately won't return

we ate here once while away for a week the food and drinks are very expensive and the karoke music is extremely loud(outside) which is a bit distracting while trying to eat

This place has just been done up and looks lovely but only snag is apparantly you can no longer take your dog inside which we have done in the past so our visits here will be less regular if thats the case.

Ive always been a big fan of the beechcomber but recently visited it again and a no dog policy??? Basically i dont like the new decor,more like a cafe, its a cold hole as b4 it needed a face lift but was very welcoming and dogs and familys and every1 welcome which made it a very good all rounder, come on people flock to skeg because dogs welcome everywhere

Yo soy un gran fan de un buen domingo de asados, pero me he probado nunca en mi vida una tan increíble y no aquí! Las porciones son muy generosas y he luchado hasta el final! No me puedo quejar de la comida un poco! El personal era muy amable y dispuesto, como todos disfrutamos trabajando allí que es bonito ver sin duda volveremos de nuevo!

Llamado aquí una bebida con la familia 2 libras 90 por una pinta de smiths John. Queridísimos pagué en skegness toda la semana. Yo a esta conclusión sobre vacaciones en GB es demasiado caro no tienen nada pero robar de comerciantes, especialmente cuando los niños están fuera de todo sube por qué porque saben u se efectúa. Incluso aparcar que sólo quieren u dinero. Por lo que nos costó una semana en una caravana y las bebidas y comidas más de 1000 libras. Eso sin niños. Lo siento por el hombre de la clase trabajadora que ahorra todo el año para llevar a los niños en vacaciones y viene bak peniless. Nos reservamos dos semanas havana en Chipre hotel todo incluido de 4 estrellas durante 1000 y hay vacaciones baratas en familia por mucho menos y si no vayas ai es mucho menos. Así que no la giv u dinero ir al extranjero.

Una variedad razonable de alimentos disponibles. Comida de pub estándar de calidad media. Muy ruidoso con el karaoke, sentí que debería de tener zonas más tranquilas dentro del pub.

Lovely pub with great play area for children. Food was really good. Muscles were really yummy. Defiantly eat again in here next time we visit butlins.

If your ever in the vicinity then this cracking bar/ eatery should be high on your list, firstly its position is fantastic right on the huge expanse of beach, secondly the food served up is plentiful and fresh, thirdly the entertainment on Saturday night was brilliant, an outside stage with full crowd participation rocking the place until 11pm. But the best and most obvious reason why this place is so popular is down to the managers Gary and Sharon complimented by there hard working staff, they are your genuine mine hosts. Thanks for a great stay and everything.

Evening family meal whilst we were staying in Butlins next door. Good menu of standard fare and standard prices. Service was however slow. Staff however helpful and overall quite acceptable.

Excellent food and service. Great place for families. Good value and an adventure playground for children. My husband had the mussels and really enjoyed them.

not being able to get a sunday lunch within butlins complex we asked at the main gate where we would find one and were directed to the beachcomber. we had the carvery on offer and so pleased we went there. 4 meats on offer and lots of fresh veg all for £6.50 each. well cooked and flavoured food pleasant hard working staff and would certainly go again when we are next in skegness.

Stayed on a park 5 mins away ,called in due to it being dog friendly ,the bar staff were pleasant ,efficient,our food was served & very nice it was too,so much so we went back again 2 days later. The outside looks a little tired but don't judge this book by its cover .

Love this pub, Really friendly staff - great views from the pub and good prices too. They even make sure the water bowls for dogs is topped up I visit here every time I'm in Skegness!

Was staying at Southview leisure park for weekend and had been told the pub was dog friendly so we got a taxi (£8) to The Beachcomber for lunch and stayed longer than anticipated. Everyone on the staff were so helpful and really polite. The dogs were comfortable and made to feel welcome (unlike Southview) The food portions were big and what we ate was spot on. We went back the next day and ate there again.We didn't make it for the famous carvery.If the Management/staff stay the same we will be back if we are in Skegness again

Came here on a Saturday evening for a Birthday meal. Had the sirloin steaks, ordered them medium and both came well done but where tasty enough, onion rings where mainly batter, peas and salad where nice but the big let down was the tasteless frozen chips and at £12 odd for each meal would expect better. Waitress was pleasant and polite(thats why I gave average and not poor) but the whole place could do with a refurb!I think if having the midweek deals or carvery is about the right price to pay for pub grub but if paying the menu prices its a bit dear for basic food. Would we eat here again? probably not .

Nipped in here as we heard the breakfasts where really nice, so we gave it a bash!We were not disappointed! My dads order came out wrong and within minutes another fresh breakfast was served.My children really enjoyed their breakfasts too and so we will definitely by coming back!!Also I've heard the live bands on are cracking!!!

used to come here quite a lot with my parents for sunday carvery and 90% of the time had no complaints, plenty of seating area unless its a busy adult break at butlins then they all tend to flock in and be very loud

Always go to beachcomber for the excellent value steak special 2 4 15.00 rump steak served how you want it cooked chips and peas and side salad only this time I had mashed potatoes with mine.

It's been over a year since I wrote this review and not one feed back about how badly we was treated on Mother's Day I still tell everyone not to bother as not even a sorry for spoiling mothers dat very disappointed still a sorry would have been nice

called in here on weds 3 june with another couple and our children ,what a friendly place this is. the food was fabulous and the dark haired lady went out of her way for us her friendly attitude was a pleasure to see she obvisouly loved her job ,this is one place we will defenitely visit again.well done

our friends took us there for lunch.We had 2 roast beef dinners n 2 roast turkey dinners. All piping hot, crisp veggies n tasty meat.And the price for each meal was...£3.50 each !!Absolute value for money n delicious too.Definately go again.

Stayed overnight in our motorhome near the pub , so we went in for some food , the pub is really big and clean the food was excellent and they had karaoke on day and night , went for breakfast before leaving , again it was first class , staff were excellent would definitely go again .

Had a meal with friends last year, ( sorry for delay ) the food was nothing special / you could easily do this menu at home / only need a microwave !!!! and the portions are pathetic !!!!

We tured up on Mother's Day after being told three was no need to book but as It was Mother's Day and some off the party was coming all the way from Nottingham they would save us a table ...... So we paid the car park all 5 car 2 babies and 2 toddlers 16 in total to be spoken to very rudely we could not eat here as there was no room for us so we was very disappointed as when I called the lady was so nice we was looking forward to sending time there with ours mothers can not beleave that they would do this to us on Mother's Day .....so after driving around Skegness for an what seamed like ever we ended up at Pizza Hut thanks for ruining our day we will pass this message on to everyone we know but I do not think this will make any difference as there only interested in the holiday makes I would stay well away as not to be disappointed like we all were

We go here every year as part of our Butlins-Skegness holiday, and each and every visit we are made to feel as though we are locals! The owners and staff are all so up-beat and friendly- we love being welcomed in the door. A lovely homely atmosphere and always nice and warm with a great selection behind the bar to choose from, and all really great value! What more could you want?This is indeed the highlight of our Skegness visit, especially as the food is absolutely fantastic! They serve the most delicious Roasty Dinner I've ever had! Tender meat cooked to perfection, I wanted to ask the chef how he does it! The roast potatoes are crisp and fluffy, the mash is rich and creamy, the vegetables are all just right and the gravy is to die for! It's worth waiting 364 days a year for food this good... Some of our entourage order from the main menu and I have to say- it all looks delicious and everything goes down well! If you have room, the desserts are gorgeous, too. In recent years we have also stayed after lunch for a few drinks and a sing song, and this year was no exception! Darren the DJ does a brilliant Karaoke Night and everyone had such a fantastic time, it's the most fun we've had in ages! Thank you so much to the whole team for making our holiday- it wouldn't be the same without this wonderful pub!

First visit to the beachcomber for the mother in laws 70th birthday I must say its a cosy atmosphere the foods good on the carvery and well enjoyed I would visit again but on a warmer day so you could enjoy the beach right on the door step . The ladys on the carvery was accomadating and was really pleasant situated right near the beach it would be great on a day out not having to worry about carting a picnic about with you I would like to thank the staff for great service and really pleasant afternoon

We have used this pub for the last 30+ years so have seen some changes in that time. The food recently is faultless the best of the 2 pubs up that end of the beach. Ample portions speedy service and a lovely view. What else can i say.

Just back from a fantastic weekend at Butlins Skeggy, dipping in and out of the Beachcomber for food and drinks. Had the Sunday roast yesterday, yummy Beef and Pork ( real meat) with all the trimmings. This morning a delicious full breakie before setting off on our journey home. Cheers Sharon and staff.

First visit for food despite going to skeg most of my life! By far the best food we have had.... Steak pie to die for! Really friendly and welcoming staff, prompt service and nothing too much trouble.... Well defo be back :)
