Having a nice cocktail sat in the window facing out , while watching the shortish bouncer with black shaved hair refusing to allow a group of 4 big girls with pretty dresses in. Just shook his head and refused them entry. They walked off a bit despondent. Within 60 seconds he let 2 couples in and a group of 6 lads. Couldn't believe my eyes at the obvious discrimination as they weren't slim, and wearing next to nothing like the very very tall girl who should have been banned for basically showing her fanny all evening and looking ridiculous. YOU CANT ban people because they're over weight. Disgraceful.!!!

We had Tapas and cocktails on a Saturday night, it was great. Staff were really friendly and attentive too. Recommend the strawberry daiquiri- divine!

Kika beach cocktails the service the food brilliant the best meal we had all week. All the staff was young and they ran the bar like clock work, with efficiently and very professional there manager should he very proud

The service was friendly and quick we had some tapas and it was very tasty and the cocktails were top quality and well priced . This bar isn't just for younger clientele we were made more than welcome

Went in for tapas and asked for food menu. There is no food menu. The only option is a tapas sharing platter for 2 for £37.50. Despite repeatedly asking the waitress (at least 3 times) what food was included she could not offer any details. We were just told that it was 'chef's choice' as if Gordon Ramsay was lurking in the kitchen. In all probability it is actually whatever leftovers are in the freezer. Didn't stay to find out. Was fairly busy so cocktails may have been decent, but can't confirm. Absolute joke, bizarre place!

You certainly do get a wonderful surprise at KIKA Beach! Especially when you book a table 7 weeks in advance for a birthday celebration. Ours was the only booking at the time for the evening. The guests travel from the Midlands. A cake is organised and delivered to KIKA the day before as part of the surprise. When you arrive for your meal you are shown to a small table (suitable for 2 people to have a drink at) which wasn't even steady on the floor. There is no way 4 people could sit around it and enjoy an evening of drinks and tapas etc... When requesting to move to a suitable table, which was immediately beside ours, we were informed that's not possible as it's been reserved. We also had a reservation and ours was the 1st reservation for that evening. On asking the waitress if we could speak to whoever is in charge we were greeted by "Nadine"!! Rude is not a strong enough description. No explanation was offered except for "it's this table or nothing!"I tried to explain about the reservation and the reason we wished to move to a suitable table and mentioned the cake that was in the kitchen. "Nadine" then said "I'm the owner." She instructed an employee to get the cake and told us to leave the premises. I stated this was unacceptable and that I will put an honest review online. "Nadine" then called for the security man to escort our party out. As it happens the security man was a very decent fella and stated that he has a job to do and understands our issue but we still have to leave. We were a group of 4 adults (1 in 60's and 3 in late 50's) offering no trouble whatsoever!!This was an horrendous experience for our visiting guests, totally ruined the birthday evening and absolutely no management or social skills from "Nadine" the alleged owner!I will certainly not be returning or recommending this place to anyone and I will be passing on my experience to all and sundry in the local area! AVOID KIKA Beach at all costs is my advice after such an unsavoury and unnecessary incident!If there was a 0 stars option then that would be given.

Having spent over £100 on a brunch when Kija Beach first opened and thoroughly enjoying the experience, I decided to book the restaurant for our friends birthday meal. They were travelling down from Nottingham to spend the weekend with us and I believed that this would be the perfect place, by the beach. When I made the booking, in house, 7 weeks ago, there were no bookings on the pages, before or after the date. I requested a window table and was told that the full menu would be available by then also, by the young man.i explained why I was booking and was assured they would do everything possible to make it a great night. I said I would drop a birthday cake off the day before (which we did).Being local, I believe in supporting new businesses. HOW WRONG WAS I! On the night, we were shown to medium sized unstable coffee table! My immediate thought was that it was as a waiting area. The waitress said it was our table for the night and when I said it was way too small for 4 people and tapas she told me that the tapas could be put on a small table nest to us. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE IN MY OPIONION! We were in disbelief. We asked for the table nearby that was a better size for 4, also reserved and told no. Bearing in mind that booking was made after ours. The so called owner, Nadine, was requested and was very rude and wasn't prepared to listen. Security was called when we expressed our disappointment, who may I add, understood exactly where we're coming from but was unable to help us. Not only did Kika Beach lose a great deal of money being spent that night on food and drinks as we intended to stay there the night, they have shot themselves in the foot. We will make it perfectly clear not to recommend our friends and families to visit and they spoilt a lovely ladies birthday. Take the risk if you want but be prepared to be let down!!!

Being in my late 50’s I thought I had seen it all when it come to poor service and bad manners. I was wrong, until now. This place doesn’t know what good service or good manners are. Save your money better off getting a take away from somewhere else and staying home. 👎🏻

Arrived at Kika, greeted and taken to our table. We were served beautifully by Ella. Food was outstanding. Thank you Kika bar and Ella. Top night absolutely would recommend.

Good atmosphere and decent Tapas. You are asked for your preferences/ dislikes and you get 6 tapas dishes between 2 people. Good value and good size portions. Excellent staff as well. Extensive drinks and cocktail menu.

Kika beach bar / not lazy lizard , great service and seating plan , had a gin and tonic, took a while to arrive as they were busy making cocktails for other guests , could do with napkins or bear mats to put drinks on as the condensation drips on you , which is annoying , toilets had ran out of hand sanitizer but apart from that I’d recommend

Josh is an amazing barman. Couldn't help us enough, and the the long island was a great choice Josh 😊. A great setting right on the seafront. Happy hour was a bonus too. Our first time to weymouth and so far the locals have been welcoming and friendly.

People over the age of 25 shouldn't visit as you are immediately made to not feel welcome. We visited as a couple for some late night drinks and to carry on from the awesome atmosphere and friendliness of the pub we had just left. After a misunderstanding in which my partner questioned the immature and frankly rude barman. We were immediately thrown out and as holiday makers banned for life which quite frankly was a joke. If your looking for a friendly place to go I would avoid this at all costs.

Barman isn't paid enough! Solo bar man, Saw him make 7 cocktails before ours, all perfect, quick as you like. Didn't once look at a menu, I had one in my hand, and he used all the right ingredients. If he was up our way (Oxford) he'd be very sought after and minted!

Arrived and the young immature barman advised us on what was obviously the easiest for him to make drinks. Service awful Drinks mediocre Asked what live music was on and he had no idea, we as a visiting couple knew there was a good live singer on half hour later and as we suspected turned up and smashed it.

Myself and a few friends decided to meet up for a little catchup and popped into this bar, it was about 9 o’clock and lovely weather. Perfect for a seafront bar and some cocktails! We were served by a tall gent with a beard and he made us several amazing cocktails (the espresso martini’s are to die for) then later on another gent served us, i think i heard his name was James.. this barman gave us a good old laugh while shortly waiting for our drinks to be made. The service was just as great as the cocktails (incredible) and they even had some live music on! Will definitely be back for more!!

29/06/2019 4.30pmI went to the bar and stood there for a few minutes. There was a man pleasantly serving someone, and a woman talking to I believe a friend at the bar. She ignored me for 5 minutes and after she realised the man wasn't going to be free for a while.. she asked what drink I would like and I said (this was a gin and a peroni) following this because I asked what gin there was she came back with a comment 'what gin gin do you like?'... Now I do realise the gin selection is not enormous!Following this she giggled at her friend who was sat on the customer side of the bar.She was very rude due to her attitude and obvious attention she felt was owed to her from her friend.Please employ some lizards in the future that want to serve customers and not lazy lizards.I'm not 100% sure but I believe the attached photo is the lazy lizard with her friend

Called in for drinks and highly recommend the cocktails. Lovely atmosphere, views over the beach and great service

We visited this lovely setting on a fine summers day, lovely views across the sea.The staff are really nice, and friendly, But the drinks take forever to come, so be prepared for a wait! but it is worth the wait!The food was very poor, the meatball was raw inside, pink meat, which really put us off our meal, staff were really good about it, and asked if we wanted a replacement, but my appetite had gone by this point, they were kind enough to give me a drink on the house. Unfortunately we will not return here.

I love a lemon flavoured Cocktail, but I wasn't sure on what I wanted so the lovely bartender made one up for me! Fabulous service and a dangerously yummy cocktail! WOULD RECOMMEND!!

Popped in on the way home for a drink and the legomen .. who were great , the place was dead .. the toilets always let this place down and could do with a refit , drinks were ok and not expensive.. will return xx

Popped in here for a quick early evening snack, just before bar got busy, brilliant pizzas in takeaway cartons and lovely salads, really nice and not expensive, would go back. Barmaid very nice too.

Stopped in for drinks , situated on the sea front , drinks were quite cheaper than expected and staff were friendly didnt have food but menu was well priced and food being served looked nice

Love a night out, especially at the lizard. Always got great music on and the drinks are a good price. Staff are always friendly and can have a laugh with them.

Era una parada tranquila y limpia de la herradura. Pedimos el pescado y patatas fritas y chaqueta de atún patatas. La chaqueta de patata era una buena opción mientras mi marido tenía el pescado y patatas fritas, que era un poco exageradas, pero aún comestible. Buena relación calidad-precio en un entorno tranquilo.

Stopped here for a light lunch with my husband, lovely decor and staff friendly. I ordered the tuna salad which came with new potatoes and bread, firstly the tuna had way to much mayo in it to the point it was sloppy, the salad was good with a nice dressing but my main problem was the new potatoes were smothered in butter as was the bread. I don't normally eat butter not because I'm allergic to it I just choose not to as I'm sure do many other people, so please either have on your menu it's all buttered or use butter portions (which in my mind is best) my husband had the tuna sandwich which was made with love fresh bread but the same problem with the tuna, to much mayo. The price was very reasonable, so on the whole nice but with a few tweaks could be very good.

Nice clean bar, but slightly expensive for drinks about £8 for a pint and half a pint of coke. Staff were friendly though

The Lazy Lizard is in a lovely location over looking the beach. The view of the sea is beautiful. The staff were really friendly and considering it was one of the guys first day there he was lovely and very professional. The food was really nice but a little expensive compared to other places up the road.

If your looking for a late drink, the lizard is the place to be, Gareth the manager is lovely and the music is spot on

We stopped here for lunch but should have gone to a chip shop for proper fish and chips. Portion sizes ok but fish varied in taste and appearance. Stay well clear of the toilets as they were disgusting and obviously hasn't been visited by a member of staff all day

On the esplanade, overlooking the beach and with a glorious view of Weymouth Bay. Seating outside is usually bust but there is always room and much cooler inside. Good food menu and all reasonably priced.

Came down with a couple of mates, and went for a night out here! Wasn't that busy but the barman Gareth made sure we had a night to remember! Will definitely be back on our next holiday!

We stopped for a bite to eat on a Fri evening and wasn't dissapointed. It was excellent value for money and a lovely location. The service was superb and food was of a good standard.Would definately go here again!

Stopped in here for lunch with friends. Disgusting place. Toilets filthy, just opened for the day and yet lack of toilet roll and soap. Food arrived and was not edible. Fish rock solid. Manager on duty openly said its frozen, thats how it comes in and thats how they serve it. Poor poor service and food the seagulls wouldnt eat. Keep away!

Absolutely disgusting food. Despite food being advertised as 'fresh', the fish & chips was hard & burnt. We complained & asked for our money back and he agreed to refund just one meal. Despite our protests, he refused. Dirty toilets & very poor customer service. You must AVOID!!!!

I visited there Friday night it is a bit clicky there and not enough bar staff you wait ages to get served and to top it of I caught a girl going through my hand bag when I told door man he said the manager knows all about it and said it was a misunderstanding he knows her she was looking for her bag witch is crap mine was the only bag on the floor under our table with coats on top of it she had her hand in my bag the manager never even came over to talk to me which makes me believe he knows what she gets up to in the place

We were served in a rush, our order was messed up, there was a terrible smell of sick in the air what else more can I say? Not the best start to the day.

Have walked past this place many times, decided we would pop in for lunch, considering there was only one person serving and also cooking, we were served quickly and our food came out pretty quickly too. Good choice of well cooked food and reasonably priced, would Def come here again.

I've been to this place a few times and it's generally ok, but it seems to have gone down hill big time!, was a busy night and with only one poor girl on the bar, who was obviously under lots of pressure and struggling with the demand, which is not her fault, just lack of management and organisation!!

I came here for a bite with family. The tables outside were all pretty dirty. We ordered our drinks and food, the staff were friendly. We ordered 5 paninis, it wasn't particularly busy but it took almost 20 minutes to arrive. The paninos were ok, quite dry though. the salads were tasty.We weren't blown away by this place, for what we got it seemed a bit overpriced and service was slow.

Surprised at the bad reviews. Family of 8 including a 9 month old baby. Very friendly, welcoming, food took a little while however it was fresh and nice. Clean and a decent menu, can't complain really!

Place is ok for a quick drink. Doesn't look the cleanest but nice to sit outside in the sun with a beer looking at the beach.

Stopped here for teatime meal with grandchildren, saw customers with appetising looking meals and decided to give it a go - excellent, 4 meals from menu, all different and all excellent! Nothing to complain about at all, our order was taken and we all had personal wishes, meaning slight variations of sides, other than on the menu, all catered for and lovely

A lovely looking place, looks like you might get well looked after. Sadly the place is dirty, the staff demoralised and the food stinks. No manager was available to hear our complaint on the day.

Had a meal here off the cuff after a day at the beach as the music was good and liked the interior. Food took ages and was lukewarm, bit like a micro meal, shame as if they got the food right this place would be on to a winner, wouldn't go again unless they got a new chef.

Rustic seaside charm, menu was excellent with a good choice, the jacket potatoes with pulled pork and apple was amazing. The kids food was very good too.

I titled this as a transformation as I was a frequent user of this establishment when it was in a previous guise. It used to be quite a scruffy place with a very small bar and a larger room attached with juke box and dart board. There was also another bar and dance floor upstairs which I can only ever recall being open on one visit. Since then it has been transformed to a thriving night club at night and a reasonable seafront bar by day.It was a nice afternoon of when last we visited it so we took the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy watching the world go by as we supped our drinks. The drinks weren't too expensive - no worse than any of the other bars in town - and the bar staff were very cheery and friendly.The only thing that marred the visit was when we had a bite to eat. The chips that came with it were cooked in old oil and smelled and tasted of it. I've noticed this before in some establishments and when I mentioned it to the manager of one of them he said they were only allowed to change the oil when the computer told them to. Perhaps this is what happened here! Other than that we enjoyed our visit.

We had a lunch with my partner and some family friends. The food took about 40 mins to come out and when it did it was cold. They obviously just microwaved it after I complained. Better places to try on the front. The chilli I had didn't seem to have much meat in it either though my partners burger looked ok.

As we wandered along Weymouth sea front looking for food this place caught our eye.My wife, child and I took the plunge to eat here, a decision we didn't regret.Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff made this an excellent choice. The Piri Piri Chicken I highly recommend. Keep up the good work!

After trying to find somewhere to eat along the harbour we stumbled across a lovely hidden eatery gem with unbelievable views along the seafront. My friend and I both a lovely lunch at a reasonable price, I had a chicken and chorizo salad. There was generous amounts of meat and the portions were great! The service from staff were excellent both the blonde lady and dark haired handsome chap were so polite and attentive. I would definitely come back again for the food and I hear the nightlife is great too. The dark haired young fellow who was helping out told me about all the upcoming events for the summer!

Lovely setting, nice relaxing place , staff very friendly and helpful. The Barman worked really hard, serving and clearing the tables away.

Great for people watching if that's your thing. Hubs had sausage sandwich with crisps and salad really good for just £3.95 , I had nachos, they were a little burnt but had plenty of salsa also £3.95. This is where I feel it went a little unreasonable 1/2 a fruit cider on tap and a bottle of doom ale and our bill was £14.14. Very expensive on the drinks. Food fair if your just after a snack but drinks pricy, good beachfront location though. Not sure if I'd visit again though

I visit this place at nighttime when it's usually a nightclub so was pleasantly surprised when me and a friend went there for lunch. Lovely pub, reasonably priced and plenty to choose from. The barmaid was lovely, smiley and I was very impressed with her Latte making skills. Well done Rachel. The only improvement I would make is speed that you get the food to the customer (even though it was fresh and lovely) possibly cook the burger a bit longer.. I was told it was fresh beef and ok to be pink.. (maybe a just a preference) Would highly recommend lazy lizard.Great for a light lunch in the day or good dance into the early hours at the weekend.

visited Weymouth on holiday just after a light lunch and the lazy lizard was a definite place to visit, lovely staff, very attentive, lovely food, we asked for a ham and cheese panini, which wasn't on the menu and they were more than happy to oblige, reasonable price, would definitely be going again before we go home.

When visiting dorset we went to weymouth for a half a day, we just fancied a light lunch and not many places done that except this one. We had tuna melt panini as a meal deal with a drink and it was £13 for 2 of us. Food was gorgeous, nice and hot, served with crisps and salad. Would defo visit again.

We had lots of cocktails here and we enjoyed the Lazy Lizards speciality ones. The perfect place to wind down after a long day at the beach!!

Places to get a decent meal on the sea front in Weymouth are few and far between. Usually the food and the service are both bad. Unfortunately the Lazy Lizard falls into this category. It's a sort of pub, so you order the food at the bar, and wait - and wait and wait - for them to bring it to you. We ordered BLTs at lunch. The bacon had been cooked, but several hours earlier and kept in the fridge. It was ice cold. The sandwiches were practically inedible. While we were there, several people came and sat down, took one look at the menu, and departed. I wish we had!

We went there this past weekend as my local friends highly recommended it for a weekend night out. We got there around 11pm and the place just started to get filled up. We enjoyed a few drinks by the bar as well as some live music and some dancing along the ways. The atmosphere there was pretty electric all night but it was also a pretty young crowd. That being said, we had a blast and the drinks were not outrageously expensive.

Whilst on a night out with my chums for a few birthday drinks we entered your establishment only for the birthday celebrations to be cut short due to the birthday boy being asked to leave because he was alleged to of brought his own drinks into the premises.Once the mix up had been sorted out the very polite doorman, I believe his name was Steve, asked the duty manager, David I think his name was, still refused to let my friend back in, now having work in the bar trade I felt this was a little harsh especially at this time of year when business is not at its peek due to the awful weather.

We tried this out on a whim having not seen any reviews and if we had, we probably would have avoided it. However I am glad we didn't. We only had burgers so we didn't have a wide range of food upon which to base our opinions but what we did have was very good. Fresh, 'home-made' burgers were well-cooked and clearly home-made, not at all what we expected considering the very reasonable price and seafront location. I should add that it was not busy either but if the staff (friendly and accommodating) can keep this level of standard up when it gets busier then this is definitely worth a go. You get a nice view of Weymouth beach too!

Stopped here for something to eat, was beautiful building, with big oopen windows and fish finger sandwiches were huge.Toilets were in need of updating but were clean.Lady behind the bar was friendly.

We decided to spend a day in weymouth for my sons birthday. After the beach we strolled along the front and found the Lazy Lizard. It was without doubt the worst experience in a restaurant my family have ever had. The young chap behind the bar was wearing a filthy white chefs jacket and said that they stopped taking orders at 5 and it was 4.30 so we thought OK no worries there is still half an hour. We ordered our food and paid at the bar. When the food arrived it was barley edible the Nachos that i ordered were basically a plate of tortilla crisps with some tomato ketchup and cheese whacked on top. The junior Nachos were again a packet of tortilla chips with some grated cheese on top. When my father in law who is nearly 80 complained at the bar about the meal. He was told that he should have ordered something else!!I am sorry to leave this review but it honestly is so bad I would't want anyone having the same experience!

Went in the day because the kids needed feeding....ordered kids fish fingers which was ok....ordered a garlic bread which was the baguette kind with butter in the middle only problem it wasn't cooked through the middle! Also had a burger which was well done on the outside but uncooked inside......it needs renaming the lazy chef!!

Very pleasant to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by on a lovely summer's evening (it was just like being abroad). Lemonade mixer from the dispenser made the drink taste funny and so was not very nice.

Visited this cafe for lunch with some friends while on a weekend break in Weymouth. Four of us were extremely excited to see they had triple decker fish finger sandwiches on the menu and placed our orders. Our excitement soon died when we received a sandwich made up with three slices of bread with 2 poor quality fish fingers cut up and randomly placed between the slices with a thick layer of Mayo. Absolutely awful. The other two of our party had opted for something different and were happy with what they had but I think it's safe to say we will not be returning!

After sunning ourselves on the Beach all afternoon we went to the Lazy Lizard for a couple of drinks , did not eat but the Pints of Stella went down nicely served by quite possibly the coolest Barman in Dorset.

We came here on the first day of our holiday to weymouth. We walked in to be greeted by the barman, who was very chatty and friendly. We ordered our food and took drinks to a table outside as the weather was nice and warm. We had a chilli jacket potato, and a lovely cajun chicken salad, which was very tasty, a coke and a pot of tea all under £20 which is very reasonable. There are lots of places to choose from on the seafront, but do give this one a try,we were the only ones there at that time and would definitely return again.

Another little 'drop in' place for lunch and a coffee. However, we found that prices were cheaper away from the seafront

We were in Weymouth for our first year anniversary and we went to lazy lizard for a chilled out lunch as going out in the evening.... Well I had nachos and the chicken was horrid and the cheese wasn't melted really horrible experience! Wine was nice food not recommend

The beer, is you can call it that, is dirty, lifeless and flat. The music is terrible and the fact they don't start any live music until midnight at the earliest is both unreasonable and ridiculous. Not impressed at all

Ok if you like lager typical fizzy pump stuff, but other than that its a bit of a young ones drinking hole and not cheap. Fairly typical bar that doesnt inspire me but may attract the younger ones.

This place is very chilled out in the daytime and does some really nice food at reasonable prices! At the weekends it is always busy and is the place to be especially when they have gigs and dj's on!

We went to the Lazy Lizard for lunch last year mostly based on the fact that it's a great name! I warmed to the place more on finding that they did fish finger butties!! But even better I ended up having the tastiest burger I have ever had - really spicy and truly delicious - far outweighing the fact that service was very slow. We went back for the first time since last week at about 6pm looking forward to more of the same - only to find that they stop doing food at 4pm!!! This might have made sense if they were packed with drinkers but it was totally empty - as it was an hour and a half later!! This seems to be seriously daft to me. Sadly it's very unusual for us to have a big lunch so I might never get to suss out if the burgers really are as yummy as I remember them to be!!!

I don't like my Latte too Strong, a word with the waitress who made every effort to produce it to my liking. Delicious Cakes!

The Lazy Lizard has always reminded me of a bar I used to frequent to Brussels called the Monkey Business, which was rather bohemian and scruffy but always had an amazing atmosphere, good music, great TV screens showing surfing/skiing antics and most of all great tex mex food. I have only been in there by day as at night it reverts to its main young nightspot role but it does offer some interesting reasonably priced food and drinks right by the beach and is perfect to sit outside on a sunny day. It offers some homemade dishs like the Chilli, Lasagne and Cottage pie plus tex mex, jackets and paninis. I find the £1 credit charge for using plastic irritating but its worth a try if you want to get into a more youthful culture than majority of the beach front cafes! The toilets also remind me of the typically Belgium Monkey Business - pretty rank!
