Really friendly staff. Food was lovely. Would recommend.

The menu offers healthy and tasty choices, which was a welcome alternative to the usual fish and chips. I ate the crab/avocado/egg brunch which was delicious and nicely presented. The service is excellent and very friendly. I’d highly recommend a visit - nice seating area available on the beach for sunny days.

Never miss the chance to head here for a coffee when in Brighton, and always fit in a breakfast or brunch of we're staying over. Such lovely staff and delicious food 🤤

Nice food and drink menu and spot on the seafront with good views out over the beach, better when the weather is nice and sunny though any time of year is good. Nice to see some palm trees and outside tables and chairs to use when they are open too.

We went here for drinks before dinner in the late afternoon and had pimms. Really good quality service and great drinks. Plus lovely location

Incredible Vegan full English breakfast, home made seitan bacon was delicious, generous portion, tofu scramble was 10/10. Stunning location as sat outside with views of the ocean. Staff so friendly & welcoming. Highly recommend!

Stopped here to grab a light lunch after travelling down earlier in the day. Mostly brunch menu and we both had the Smashed avocado with bacon and egg on a sourdough bread which was excellent. Only negative comment was the large glass of wine was served in a d tumbler.

Headed down to Brighton Beach on the one decent day of the whole of the summer so far. Found this little gem. Tacos and a pint for £10! Oh my word! Gorgeous. Lovely staff, view of the sea, a pint and lunch. What more could I want? Happy girl. X

Spot by the beach which is a lot less “commercial” than the bars nearer the pier. Great service and varied food and drink menu. Amazing Burrata and pesto dish. Only downfall was the crayfish was quite dry in the tacos. Would recommend for drink, meal or ice cream!

It was very busy in Brighton this particular day, the sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky, the Cafe / Restaurant was also very busy, and we were told it would take a while to get our meals, and it did, but the food was pretty good all things considered, it was let down by the fact it has one unisex toilet, so people were queuing to use said room, but unless you have an urgent need then this place is good, although not cheap

Came for dinner. Friendly service, fantastic lamb chops and hasselback potatoes and crayfish salad. Fab music next doir. Highly recommend

Hair in my ice cream, and lacking a bit of flavour but good seating options

The wife, daughter and I were on a Saturday afternoon/evening out in what is usually the otherwise friendly town of Brighton (24/6/2023). We stopped in at around 18:15 at what looked deceivingly like a pleasant place to have an £11 cocktail (as advertised on the board outside the premises on the beachfront). We were due to attend a gig at Brighton chalk that evening. Sadly our daughter has been suffering with an eating disorder for some time we have had to learn to cope and adjust to make “a safe meal” to take when going out. Our daughter’s homemade pizza was in foil and my wife and I had picked up Franco Manco pizza, both of which we intended to enjoy on the beach with our daughter before the gig. Living with an eating disorder is hard. Walking in to sit at one of several empty tables at Lazy Fin, we were initially asked if we were there for drinks, which we confirmed we were. As we were about to sit, another unfriendly/confrontational (senior?) employee called out at us (in front of other patrons) to ask if it was just drinks, to which we answered yes (as with several other patrons who did not appear to have food on their tables). She informed that we were not allowed to attend their premises with our own food (noticing unconcealed foil wrapped pizza and a pizza box), stating they served food as to why we couldn’t sit and have a cocktail. We tried to reassure that we were only there to have a cocktail and had no intention of eating our food there (as we were going to take our cold pizza to enjoy on the beach at 7pm with our daughter, after a cocktail). Our attempt at reassurance was rebuffed and the tone of voice from the staff member concerned indicated that we were not welcome (assuming perhaps we were ‘cheapskates’ and of a sort that might be ‘undesirable’ in attending a cocktail bar/restaurant with our own food). Several patrons looked at us, with one that I noticed smiling awkwardly up at me from her drink as I commented: “well that’s us told off”. In the time before the eating disorder took hold (after the pandemic) we would often eat out, being fortunate enough to afford to do so. Now we try do the best we can as we tackle this scary and diabolical illness. We have eaten out with our daughter at venues such as: Wildwood, Kitch, Wagamama etc. where we would ask if our daughter could eat her ‘safe meal’ while we ordered something off the menu (on those occasions where we did wish to eat at a venue). On each occasion the staff at those restaurants were kind, understanding and accommodating. On this occasion the wife and I simply wanted to enjoy a cocktail before the gig- not eat our pizza there. The whole experience at the Lazy Fin (albeit short lived) left us with a distinctly unpleasant taste in our mouths and our daughter distressed. We can’t rate the food or drinks (and don’t intend to return to spend money there), but service was so spectacularly poor that I felt a review was needed. The moral here is twofold: 1. “be kind” - you don’t know what others are going through; 2. Treat others with courtesy, respect and sensitivity- there may be more to their story. I will certainly let those I know (who live in the area) know of our experience. Hopefully Lazy Fin will work on their service. Right now, in my estimation, the Lazy Fin is only fit for the bin. *Since having recently reviewed, the review above disappeared from Google reviews without explanation or assurance that efforts will be made to improve customer service. *Update to owner’s reply: 1.Explicitly said wouldn’t eat: cocktails only. 2. One pizza box + 1x foil wrapped pizza 3.Not rude - a shame you stoop to dishonesty in response 4. No offer of take away (your loss of income) 5. No bad language used- had saved and simply copy pasted after removal 6. Well done, rather than admit errors made in treatment of customers, you defend by seeking to discredit, motivating one to share further on other platforms. Bravo.

Lovely hot day needed something for lunch came across this place. Wonderful food great service didn't quite master the qr code the staff were great letting me order the old fashioned way waiter to customer.

Charged 20% service charge on two drinks, waitress lied when I got the amount notification on my phone and claimed its 10% for all the running around involved to serve two drinks. Didn’t see her run once. (Edit/ Response) It was actually 23.75% service charge. The main point I was making is that service charge on a pint of beer is quite cheeky, let alone 23.75% of it. I’m aware it doesn’t double and that it’s optional, hence the review. I wasn’t given an option when I paid - just the 23.75% markup along with a justification. Thank you for enquiring. However, perhaps your waiting staff need explaining on the optional and percentages aspects.

My daughter booked this beachfront eaterie for Father's Day & we were not disappointed.. (apart from the weather!!).. We booked an outside table with a large umbrella, and for the most part the weather held out, until we had to dash inside later in the afternoon!! We were there with my wife, son & daughter, daughters boyfriend and his parents.. The menu whilst not huge has a really nice selection for lunch.. seafood (mussels, cockles), steak sandwich, crab & crayfish tacos, pulled pork tacos and more.. we ordered a selection of the above between us all, plus some cocktails, a jug of Pimms and 2 watermelon juices (they are incredible!!).. The food was fantastic, service great which despite the weather made for a lovely afternoon on the sea front!! When we escaped inside, we had coffees, ice cream and some more drinks.. We will be back (hopefully the sun shines next time) thank you for helping make my Father's Day so enjoyable. Marc

We went for breakfast and had a lovely time. Great smoothies, decent food and all set right on the beachfront. Having the seating, toilets and service counter all on one level makes access easy too. We had to wait a little while for food, but staff let us know of the wait before we ordered and it took less time than expected. Would go again for sure.

Had steak sandwiches and mock mojitos and then came back the next day for evening drinks. The sandwiches were amazing! Generous portions and good quality. Great service. And a great spot in the sun!

I haven’t tried their food but stopped by few times now for drinks. The location is great and is the only place which serves fresh watermelon juice 🍉 and it’s lovely.

Visited Brighton for the day with my parents and found this hidden gem! Perfect views and the was in a quieter spot for breakfast on a Saturday. The venue was very aesthetically nice and the menu looks great. However, from my personal experience, despite it being quieter, the staff were difficult to get hold of, or struggled to complete requests i.e getting items that we asked for etc. And when the food arrived, it was cold. But we were conscious of being limited for time so didn't say anything. But in hindsight, given how expensive the breakfasts were, we would have expected better. Given how nice the venue was, I'd like to give it the benefit of doubt for this occasion, and visit again in future.

What a remarkable little place. The pork belly , just wow ! Even my teen didn't moan 😳 The staff are pretty awesome. Can't wait to go back to try the other food delights. High five to the kitchen crew 🙌

Had the best Brunch that we had to revisit. Friendly and helpful staff on one of the hottest bank holiday weekend. Will definitely revisit when we are in Brighton again.

Visited many times with my friends and have always been unbelievably impressed by the quality of the cocktails and food. Great service, the staff are full of personality which added to the great experience of finding a hidden gem on the seafront. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The poke bowls are to die for!

Really lovely lunch here on a whim. Had the generously portioned salmon poke rice bowl, a great dish. Excellent service and hospitality.

I love this place! Great food, service with a smile and some dance moves behind the bar! I’d go as far to say, they have the best cocktails in town (especially if made by the lovely owner Bec!) I go here all the time and recently went for my birthday bash and even got a little cupcake with a sparkler! Highly recommend ❤️

really nice views for a lunchtime stop, right on the beach front. We were really excited about trying the food however we found it was all a bit average, looked better than it tasted. Waited a while to be served as we were not told when we were seated to use the app to order. Ordered the cray fish tacos and mussels to share, felt like the food could have been more flavourful. Good beer and staff were friendly.

I've been there 5 times and it's always lovely to sit outside. My favourite is a crab baguette(?) but tried salmon poke this time. It was also good

Perfect beach spot for outside dining with a view.

Now this is a review of two halves. To start the waiting staff were brilliant, and the baked Camembert super delicious! Great location and some great menu choices. Unfortunately, my boyfriend ordered the cray fish tacos, (being Mexican he knows a thing or three about great tacos), when they arrived the tacos were stone cold. All he asked was could you put them under the grill and warm them up. Next we were greeted by the chef who wanted to have a lengthy debate about his preparation and said they were warmed but get cold when you add the salad. My boyfriend said fine but can you just warm them. The chef again explained I can but they will be cold when I add the salad. My boyfriend explained he was Mexican and just wanted them warmed or nothing at all. The chef then started to say well you might be Mexican but I do 150 covers a week of these so… on and on it went until we just said refund the money please we’ll leave that dish and just pay for the things we had. This was on Saturday….3 days and two emails later, no refund and no apology. There are so many great places to go in Brighton, this one had the most seats available under the shade…. I wonder if the Chef’s poor attitude and resistance to feedback could be part of the reason why?! Such a shame!

Great Spot for Brunch. First time here, normally go to the Buccaneer, but deffo will be back when next in Brighton. Great Poached Eggs…and apologies for the half drunk pic of the fresh Watermelon Juice, but it was delicious!!!

Great place, but I was given the wrong food. When I questioned it they told me I had incorrectly ordered, then looking back on my order I hadn't, especially as I'm not allowed to eat eggs which is what they gave me. Not sure I would go back there

What a find. Enjoyed a relaxing birthday meal for my daughter at the Lazy Fin today. All the food was fresh, homemade and delicious. Took in the beach atmosphere. The staff couldn't do enough, and made it feel special.

Choose Lazy Fin for Office Summer Social and that was the best decision ever! Food platters specially customised for us! Meat, vegetarian and vegan options! All drinks came with the speed of thunderstorm! Super friendly stuff really keen to help! 10/11 place right on Sea side! Highly recommend! Thank you guys for making all of us so comfortable!

Good food, super friendly staff and great atmosphere.

My partner took me here for lunch yesterday as he raves about the crab roll. We sat ourselves down and ordered our food, I am a vegetarian but there were only vegan options on the lunch menu - I would’ve loved to have seen more vegetarian options on the menu. Anyway, I ordered myself a ‘TOFU & BLACK BEAN TACOS’ which consisted of 3 flour tortillas, spicy tofu & black bean, mango salsa, avocado. I also ordered myself a watermelon margarita cocktail. The tacos were very dry and tasted stale, the beans were incredibly dry and the tofu wasn’t seasoned very well so didn’t taste like anything…Not worth the £9 in my opinion. I hated being a ‘Karen’ but had to tell a lovely server who was very understanding and eventually did get a refund. I also want to point out that the cocktails (although don’t taste very alcoholic) are delicious! This place is quite expensive in my opinion, but lovely place to have a cocktail in the sunshine. The staff are lovely and the interior of the place is gorgeous and clean.

Food was not amazing. They force your to pay a 5.55 service charge, which if I'd known before I'd sat down would have put me off especially as you order via an app, they just deliver the food... So what service am I paying for? Eggs were over done and food wasnt hot, had to ask for butter for jam on toast which was cold, but my toddler was hungry. Avocado was covering burnt toast as well.... We were so hungry we just put up with it sadly. Won't visit again. Much better options within 10ft.... £30 pounds wasted, shame as the menu has potential, just needs some effort in that 5.55 service we paid extra for and didn't get.

What more could you want at Brighton seafront? Delicious food and drinks, great atmosphere, friendly & professional staff who made us feel very welcome…..oh of course there was sunshine! I recommend the crayfish tacos and next time I’ll come for the margaritas. Definitely recommend.

We had the BEST cocktails and lunch on the beach yesterday - came across The Lazy Fin as we were wondering along the beach and were thrilled to have discovered a gem. I ordered a spicy Margherita and a crab and Cray Roll and they both far far exceeded my expectations - so good!! Excellent service too.

Great location, large portion for its value and super tasty!!! I add extra spicy 😬 and the pickles are specially tasty. There are great efforts in the food and I literally had a lot of crab meat and crayfish in the sandwich.

Wow! This place is great. Four of us stopped here for lunch last weekend, and we are so glad we did. From the welcoming staff to the tasty lunch, it was just perfect. When I cheekily messaged asking for their Camembert recipe, they even gave it to me.

The best place to have breakfast in Brighton, the owner is very friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and the coffee and smoothies are delicious, and to top it all off sitting on the beach in the sunshine, I mean what isn’t to love!

We had the reception for our Civil Partnership at Lazy Fin in September 2021 and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. The staff were super accommodating, flexible and friendly with the guests and the food was perfect. We had the best time and want to give our love and thanks to Bec and team for helping make the day so perfect!

Excellent brunch. Had low expectations as most sea front places are usually expensive and poor quality (because they can get away with it I guess). But Lazy Fin is a real quality gem!

Bladdy QR menu.... ordered a breakfast and a crab dish, but then decided to have 2 breakfasts, tricky to adjust, back arrow took me out of menu, so scanned again and worked out how to delete the crab, and select "2" next to breakfast. Nearly a tenner for 2 330ml bottles of beer! Breakfasts turned up, neither had mushrooms, because I'd been fool enough to click times 2, on a brekkie that I'd deselected mushrooms on. No price difference, so waitress said she'd fetch mushrooms. Meals finished, plates cleared, we said "so no mushrooms?" "Sorry hun, I forgot about the mushrooms". And I'd already paid the service charge... Could do with steak knives to cut through the sourdough toast, this not a criticism.

mojito was warm and weak, with no flavor. mussels were in a sauce that was watery and full of smashed shells.
