Visited Lazix for an affogato and hot chocolate on my 20th birthday, and was somewhat disappointed! Had visibly been sitting for a while as the ice cream had entirely melted, and the hot chocolate was lukewarm. Nonetheless, the quality of the coffee, decor and service were all of a great standard. Such a shame that my first experience of Lazix was so ‘average’.

We have visited this place numerous times for coffee and lunch and it has always been amazing. Upon walking past last night we were surprised to see that the doors were open and people were sitting in side enjoying a drink and looking at a food menu. So we thought we'd pop in and have a drink. The owner was very welcoming and pleased to see us as we're fairly regular customers. He told us they are now going to be open on Friday and Saturday evening's. We sat upstairs on the roof terrace and as I expected the food was outstanding and the wine was wonderful just as their coffee is during the day. If you're looking for a nice relaxed, inviting and comfortable atmosphere to have a drink and/or a bite to eat then I would definitely recommend coming here. Very reasonably priced as well. We had a fantastic evening and will definitely be back soon!

We went here for a cream tea yesterday. It was almost empty and to be honest, I can see why. Downstairs is fairly dingy so we placed our order and chose to sit upstairs instead. Service was slow (it took them 5 minutes to tell us they only had 4 scones rather than the 6 needed to fulfill our order) - we were only asking for two cream teas and a glass of milk so nothing complicated. When it finally arrived (minus the glass of milk which never appeared) it was ok but nothing special. The scones were on the small side and had clearly been warmed through to make them appear fresher then they were. There was insufficient milk in the jug for two pots of tea too (and we don't have it any milkier than average). The crockery and decor looked quite nice but the food was nothing special and the service was poor. It seemed like they weren't used to actually having customers to serve. Yes it was a weekday, but only having two tables filled at 11am suggests this place isn't going to last.

Under the previous owners from Essex this pub was amazing after the revamp, the food and atmosphere was fantastic and they got better clientele in. I've been back since under new ownership and the place is disgusting and full of drinks and louts that have ruined what was a lovely pub. I wouldn't set foot inside here again as it's full of drug taking lager louts who will ruin the expensive revamped decor. When I visited for a drink there was lads waiting to get in the toilet to have a sniff! Avoid!!
