Lavang Spice in Hackney

I had dinner at this cosy Indian restaurant. The lamb bryani was cooked well. Papadum was crispy with a nice selection of dips. Service was attentive.

Lavang Spice What a lovely busy bustling restaurant, with fantastic food & service. Went there 01/04/23 for dinner, service/waiting team managed a very busy peak time, very cslmly, efficiently & professionally. Amazed at both the quality of the food, the portion sizes & most of all the total cost/prices. The chairs are so comfortable in comparison with most other restaurants, most of who just having uncomfortable wooden or metallic chairs. We will definitely be eating at Lavang Spice again 'Many Times' in the future & passing on word & mouth to others just how good they are in comparison.... Well done Lavang Spice team & chefs! 10/10 for every aspect 👌👍👌

We have been here several times before,but this visit was terrible. Slow service,very bad attitude from staff. Waited 1 hour for 1 drink. They can not cope with a large party of people. Will never go back. Absolutely disgusting service

We collected a takeaway on Friday from Lavang Spice. The food as always was really nice and presentable. We always get our takeaways from here and are always satisfied.

Dinner was good company was good service was excellent. I will defo go there again everyone that came said the same...

Very friendly and we always enjoy eating here. Curry is nicely spiced, authentic cooking, really enjoy the salmon rapti in particular.

Didn't deliver Onion Bhaji's that I paid for and Just Eat is saying I can't have a refund for this as the company haven't marked the order as complete in their system - it's a day later.

Food is incredible but took nearly two hours to arrive. And that was 30 minutes after the time stated on the email.

Soy un cliente habitual, ¡les he contado a todos mis familiares y amigos sobre este restaurante el servicio de comida de alta calidad, etc.! Sin embargo, el viernes por la noche estaba muy decepcionado con el servicio de Lavang Spice. Había hecho un pedido grande de casi 40. Recibí mi pedido, sin embargo, el arroz de mis hijas faltaba en la comida de sus hijos. Llamé al restaurante y hablé con el caballero que hablaba inglés. Le expliqué que faltaba el arroz, nunca recibí una disculpa. Todo lo que me ofreció fue un arroz para agregar en nuestro próximo pedido, o él traería otro. Le expliqué que mientras esperaba otro, el curry estará frío. Era muy agresivo, grosero y sarcástico. Sus palabras exactas fueron "Lo que quieres que vuele allí", le expliqué que no hay necesidad de ser grosero o sarcástico. Luego terminó la llamada. Afortunadamente vivo a solo 5 minutos del restaurante, sin embargo, el arroz llegó 10 minutos tarde, no incluían otro curry. Así que el que tenía era muy frío para alimentar a mi hija. Era el mismo caballero con el que había hablado por teléfono que entregó el arroz. Lo enfrenté y le dije que no había necesidad de ser grosero, agresivo o sarcástico por teléfono. Una vez más, no hubo disculpas, simplemente dijo de nuevo "¿Querías que volara aquí, tengo otros clientes esperándome?" Soy un cliente habitual dentro del restaurante y también ordenando comida para llevar. Debe proporcionar un nivel de servicio al cliente a sus clientes. El servicio que recibí fue espantoso y ya NO voy a ordenar desde aquí, ha perdido un cliente a largo plazo. También haré que todos se alejen para NO cenar más en este restaurante. Como son simplemente groseros! La calidad de los alimentos también se ha reducido drásticamente por debajo de los estándares. Recomiendo seriamente que se investigue este restaurante ya que sirven comida cruda. ¡Su cocina se ve sucia por lo que vi cuando visité este restaurante!

Lavang Spice is our go to Indian take away - always tastes amazing and brilliant delivery. Would recommend highly.

Came here with my mum for dinner during the week. We had starters, two chicken mains, a nice and bread to share and a bottle of wine and it came to around £33! The chicken was cooked to perfection, very soft and juicy, not dry like you find in some curries! Dishes are all reasonably priced. Tasty food, excellent value for money and friendly staff - would highly recommend. They also do takeaway!

Finding a good Indian restaurant local we find incredibly hard! But after a few years of driving by and a friend recently recommending this place we gave it a go! It was perfect!!! Food was absolutely delicious, staff were welcoming and on the ball. Very reasonable prices as well, totally affordable. We’re so glad we tried this place, it will now be our local Indian!

Three words: LATE, COLD, BLAND. When I say bland, I'm not talking about heat. My items were not intended to be hot, but there was just no freshness, no spice! Everything tasted the same.

Delivery time was very different to what was advertised when ordering.

Wished I was told in advance it would take 80 minutes!

Food was alright however took and hour and a half to come and was just warm not hot. Also forgot to add in chutney and just added an extra mint yogurt.

Been looking for a decent indian for a while! Tried this one twice now, bang on both times!

Excellent food delivered very early

Happened across this place in Feb and have been back twice since. Food is delicious and portions are whopping! Staff are attentive but, give you space to enjoy your company as it is pretty small in there. Amazing value for money and my new go-to spot for a top-notch curry!

Delivered on time and the restaurant even called to confirm something about my order. The lamb chops were amazing! The lamb in the rogan josh was a bit tough but flavours really nice. Will order again!

Signature dish of Lamb Xacuti was barely edible; touch, gristly meat and tangy sauce not working well together at all. Chicken korma so sweet it was sugary. Overall disappointing. Basically, there are 10000s of better curry houses in London.

The food was "delicious" absolutely amazing..... I will definitely recommend this place to everyone. The staff did a great job excellent service from them. Would visit again soon ....

Good portions but meat dishes were dry

This place is quite small for a restaurant so.thought I would pre-book a table a few days before. However upon arrival this hadn't happened and restaurant was pretty full. Food was OK had a long wait for it to arrive.no apology from the staff. Wouldn't rush back.

Have ordered from them many times and the food is always so good. Not too greasy, perfect amount of spice and delivery is standard time. Love it!

Delivered 40 minutes later than the original promised time. When I called the restaurant as I received a notification it had already been delivered which it hadn't been they asked "oh did you not want to collect" and advised me it was coming now. That took a further 20 minutes. Awful service, good food though

We often order a take out from Lavang and we have never had any problems. I believe they also give you a free side dish if you order over a certain amount.

Food was late and had no flavour for Indian food. Very disappointing won't be ordering again.

Hay un montón de restaurantes indios en el este de Londres, pero muy pocos de ellos son buenos. Por desgracia, esta no es la excepción. La decoración es aburrida y fría (algo de la parte mala de los 80s), la comida es normal en el mejor de los casos, aunque se alejase de la madras de gambas, realmente no es bueno en absoluto - langostinos cocidos a pellets duros. Servicio es ese tipo de aparentar educado, que es en realidad bastante sincero. La verdad es que no puedo recomendar este lugar. Al Amin en cerca de Cambridge Heath Road es mucho mejor.

Delivery time was 40mins over also chicken tikka masala was like rubbed cubes really over cooked or very processed chicken and food was cold on arrival.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE staff. Was served stale pop from a big bottle which I thought was rather cheeky as I came to a resturant and not somebody's house. When I complained about the flat, syrupy drink I was basically told to like it or lump...

Great first order, good value and perfect thali variety. Would definitely other again based on this.

The vegetable thali had a great selection and we enjoyed the variety of dips brought with the order for the papadums. The lentil daal had spilt a bit in the takeaway bag but didn't ruin the rest of the meal. The driver arrived 20 mins before the ETA so that was a nice surprise!

Our usual. It was 20 min earlier than estimated through the app too. Saag paneer tastes a bit off today though, the cheese is a bit sour?

I wish I didn't like the Lavang Mixed Biryani so much - I might then be tempted to try another dish. (Although I have tried the garlic mushrooms and they are really good too....)

Il ne faut pas y venir pour le décor, qui est plus que simple. Mais ce qu'on y mange vaut le détour. Le poulet tikka, les nans, les légumes, le riz... Tout a été excellent. Ce restaurant permet aussi de faire l'expérience de l'atmosphère propre à Hackney avec ses maisons en briques. La proximité de Victoria Park est aussi un plus.

Took over an hour and a half to be delivered - no apology, no info from the restaurant when we called. Good food, lukewarm by the time it arrived - overall poor service.

This is a real gem. Tiny restaurant but a real cosy feel and great food make it a place your should visit. I went on a Tuesday night at about 17:30 with my two teenage daughters. The guy serving was superb and was great in talking my two into having something a little different. The bill was also a nice surprise as a lot cheaper than others in the area

Terrible service- took 2 hours to arrive and then was shouted at on the phone by delivery driver as he couldn't find our house

Driver got lost however he was new and didn't speak great English. The restaurant rectified this quickly by sending a new driver. Food arrived delicious and very warm despite the delay and confusion.

I would highly recommend this place to everyone its a nice cosy place to dine with family and friends also ideal for couples. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was tasty and the spice was just perfect. The chef was entertaining which made our evening. Will be going agan soon :)

I don't really know how people can rate the cuisine, poor, bland typical fast food. Never again, might aswel gorgina a micro wave Indian probably taste the same tbh.

Friendly staff and delicious food. We live locally and this is our go to treat which impresses every time. Its got a lovely relaxed and un-fussy atmosphere which is a welcome break from some of the other restaurants in the local area.

Best take out curry in east London by far and away. Lamb jalfrezi a firm favourite. Top quality every time and super fresh.
