Spotted this fish and chips bar on trip advisor last Thursday and thought we would give it a go. We arrived 15 minutes before closing but the gentlemen was absolutely brilliant. We got chatting about knowing people from the Forest of Dean whilst the food was cooked fresh and was completely delicious. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the Burry Port area.

Another great lunch from Lauriens!! Always a friendly welcome, great quality food and competitive prices. The cod was was delicious, white fish with light golden batter. We always share a portion of chips and they too were cooked well and not at all greasy. The added touch of a serving of fresh lemon ( if wanted) with the fish make it even better. Definitely a little gem in Burry Port, thoroughly recommend.

Top rate as usual! Another great lunch from Lauriens. Beautiful, white fish, crispy, light batter and chips cooked perfectly. Can’t fault it!! We usually order in the shop and have a chat with the friendly owner whilst waiting for our freshly cooked food, but you can pre-order by telephone too.

The best Rissoles and chips.the best I have ever tasted.simply delicious.Would recommend💯.He cooks everything fresh so lovely and hot.

It's hard to find a chippy that will cater for vegans/gluten free/vegetarians, but the gentleman had a separate frier and was able to accommodate my friends and I with a chippy tea, as long as you give some notice so he can get the separate frier running then it's no problem. Highly recommend this place, the chips were beautiful. He took my order over the phone and they were ready for me to pick up on arrival, fantastic service, and gorgeous chips to eat on the beach. Thank you 🥰!

We like chips and Laurien’s chips are the best. Worth the 40 minute drive. Also excellent sausages and rissoles.

My boy has never finished chips from a chippy before but absolutely polished the lot, and said they are the best chips in burryport. From the mouth of babes. Fantastic customer service and really good portion sizes.

called in today 18/3/22 for fish and chips after reading the reviews on here. i must say the food was excellent chips just right not too soft/soggy the fish was lovely and batter crispy. as already stated you do have a little wait as everything is cooked fresh. will def visit again when next here on holidays.

Have tried this fish shop several times now and each time the food has been excellent, hot and flavoursome. Staff are friendly too, I would recommend Laurians for their menu choice, friendly service , taste snd value for money

We always come here when we have fish and chips. They cook everything from fresh so it is advisable to phone ahead with the order. Everyone here is super helpful and friendly and the food is fantastic. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Well I am extremely gluten free and they where so helpful with it they, made it all up just for me and my family which was good because I really benefitted from not having to have made my own chips. I love it and wish they where more well known for not only there will to help with my gluten free allergy and the helpful down to earth customer service.

Called here after shopping in Llanelli what a find BEST FISH And CHIPS for years all Chips and Chips cooked to order well worth the wait even hot when we returned to Carmarthen Bay Holiday Park And reheated even then just magic best we have tasted for years now on our Foodie hit list

Fish fresh and cooked while you wait and consistently high quality. No need for me to try any others in the town as this hits the spot. Keep up the good work!

Had a lovely meal with my family recently, my granddaughter loved the food and cleared her plate. We ate in and all enjoyed it. Comfortable surroundings and the service was excellent. The staff were so obliging and would highly recommend. We are not local to the area but if we're in the area again which is likely will return.

I often phone in advance to order fish and chips on my way home from work. It has always been lovely.

Popped in for our lunch today and as usual the food and friendly welcome was excellent. The homemade rissoles were delicious and all the food was still piping hot when we got the food home to eat. Our dog also enjoyed her sausage which had kindly been cut up (and packaged separately from our food) I would thoroughly recommend you pay a visit, the menu is very broad and caters to lots of tastes including jacket potatoes if you don’t fancy chips. We had the home made rissoles and sausage in batter and both were really nice, the batter on the sausage was probably the best I have ever had.

Quick visit to fish shop on Good Friday afternoon. Wasn’t disappointed, even though the village was busy we had excellent service, it is spotless premise and offers a broad selection of great food- highly recommend to visitors of all ages. Menu includes chill con carne with rice, jacket potatoes as well as the usual choices.

Having sampled fish and chip meals at this Establishment, over a period of years now, I can confidently state that the the quality and consistency of each meal, was and remains, of the highest quality possible.The proprietor is, a consummate professional, and is justifiable proud of each and every meal provided for his customers.His staff are equally knowledgeable of the full range of meals on offer. They are exceedingly polite and we'll " turned out". What I found particularly endearing, is the fact that each and every assistant are very patient and kind to those of us who are no longer young. Laurian is another Very Important Person in Burry Port, he has built an amazing little Fish and Chip Shop Bar ! The kids flock here like Seagulls but it's the Children's portion size that, I, personally, need , as a very Fit , 60year old female, Side Car Pasenger, from Pembrey Race Circuit ! I do, need feeding , Laurian, but never, Fattening up ! Laurian ! LolSo please DECREASE , the portions, JUST, for me , only ! We fancied having Fish & Chips on a Tuesday..rang up to place our order ( great thing they offer but don't really advertise it ? ), so when I arrive - all ready to collect ( have learn't the hard way on waiting half an hour for a bag of chips in the past ! ) and knowing it has all been cooked to order and fresh - girls are helpful and friendly as ever....

Popped in for chips. The woman was rude and even raised her voice at me. I would have left but I had paid.Food was re-heated and not fresh and sausage tasted days old.I would never ever ever go here again!Shocking! How can you get the most basic of take away establishments so wrong!

After many a good meal today's chips were unedible absolutely disgusting phoned up to complain to be told oh were they sorry.I was dumbfounded sorry and that was it will be giving laurians a miss for the foreseeable future such a shame

Popped in here for F&C; for the family, very happy with the result. Good portions, ALL freshly cooked and tasted great. Good place and very reasonably priced too.

Best fish and chips we have had in a long time, and nicely presented in a box. Sadly dogs are not welcome inside the cafe (not unusual for Burry Port!) so we had to take our lunch outside and find somewhere more welcoming to consume it.

Price fair quality none pies over heated one had mould on it sausage can't fault chips under cooked will I return no chance waste of time and money

Visit here often whenever in Wales. Best fish and chips in Wales. Great prices and great quality of food. Owner works restaurant. Very clean place and worth the drive.

We used to love going here, however we went there today (28th June 2018) and found that they’ve started using those tiny yellow trays. Literally not even a handful of chips provided now, they charge the same price too. I wouldn’t bother to be honest.

Every thing cooked to order as I recall. Have not been for a while but was a regular fish and chip customer. The staff were always friendly and well attired with caps to avoid any hair dropping in the food. Something I have experienced once or twice in other establishments. My ideal simple pleasure to drive a Rolls to Burry Port and devour a cod or haddock whilst sitting at the harbour car park. Will have to try again soon and if up to usual standard will upgrade rating to excellent :)))

THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS GOING , You get plenty for your money , got a good menu, the place was clean and tidy plenty of staff and thay was very pleasant and cheerful, it says something when there was a queue out of the shop and round the corner, the chippie we have at home is excellent and this is just as good if not that bit better,.

Went here on awry and damp Saturday night the chips were lovely good sized portions fish was cooked lovely and particularly liked the mushy pea fritter would definitely go back if ever in the area again

We ordered 2 cod and chips and a portion of chips and the price was around £10.00, the portions were more than adequate and the quality very good cooked fresh to order

This a great fish and chip shop to stop and get a take away then sit eating them on the harbour watching the world go by. If you are in the area I would definetly recommend but be aware there is always a queue.

Tenía unos llevar de ella durante las vacaciones cerca. Tenía pescado y patatas fritas y pollo con patatas fritas y probado tanto no eran demasiado preciosas grasienta. Comida cocinado. Parece que se puede comer en el almuerzo. Volveré la próxima vez que estemos en la zona.

He visitado este pescado y chip shop muchas veces durante los últimos años. El propietario es muy amable y te hace sentir valorada cada vez que vaya allí. El pescado está recién preparada a ordenar. Sólo lo he usado dos veces, pero el café dos veces la comida y el servicio era excelente. Los precios son razonables para la zona media.

Food freshly cooked and very good value. Small eat-in facility but well worth a visit by those coming in to the town for the day. Closes relatively early in the evening.

Bought fish& chips and small fish takeaway when I opened the package at home couldn't choose the difference between the two fishes both were as small as each other since it became the only chip shop in the town it has gone down drastically portions have gone much smaller and prices have increased

Immediately felt like a regular the moment we walked in. The staff are wonderfully friendly and chatty and time flew. I've read other reviews saying there were long waits involved but to be honest, we were having so much fun laughing and bantering with both staff and other customers that we barely noticed. But believe me, any wait would be worth it! The food is freshly cooked and the portions are massive (That's a lesson learned!). I wouldn't hesitate in going back there again. And again. And... you get the idea!

We usually get takeaway from here but today decided to eat in. What a lovely experience. Friendly staff and made to fell welcome. The wait for the food wasn't really a wait at all and the food was delicious. We will definatly be coming back.

The best fish and chips fish lovely and white and the batter was not to thick but was crisp and the chips not soggy just nice, had to wait but it was done fresh well worth a visit.

Tried this fish and chip shop after being recommended by a friend,and, yes,you do have to wait as the fish is freshly cooked, but it is worth the wait. I had the breaded plaice,and hubby had cod in a crisp batter, both were delicious and the chips were nice and crisp too. Will be going back!

Just waited 1 hour for chips and a sasauge, the chips are soggy and undercooked. Also tasteless, the girls in the shop are more conserned about chatting about their plans for later this evening. Not happy as its always the same.

Best chip shop in Carmarthenshire live locally this is the only chip shop we will buy our fish and chips. This chip shop is spotless clean and has 5 star certificate .

The pleasant youg girls cook your order to your taste. It is not a fast food factory but where you get that personal service. The staff even under pressure have a smile for you and it is worth the wait at times to get the food that you have ordered. The shop is clean and the staff are well presented in uniform.

I find it hard to believe that an "award winning" establishment can manage to churn out such tasteless food- even with salt and vinegar the food is bland and indifferent

it was lunchtime and i fancied fish and chips. i had tried laurians once before many years ago, i thought i would try them again. i walked in and the owner welcomed me, i placed my order for plaice and chips and he began to prepare it,i waited for what seemed to be an age,but i knew when it arrived it would be fresh. eventually it was ready and true to form it was lovely. the fish was fresh and plump and the chips were all individual not stuck together all together it was a smashing moment.

Spotlessly clean and cooked fresh to order. Can sometimes be a wait during busy periods, but the wait is well worth it.

Called in here to buy a quick supper after a trip to Cardiff and had to wait ( it was very busy) but it was worth it. Just a piece of cod in batter and some chips but it was delicious. The batter as light as a feather and so crisp. I expect I shall be back.

We have a Sat. Evening takeaway from Laurian's and the order is prepared to your requests. There is no fast food policy but food prepared for the individual. The staff are pleasant and friendly and happy to help.

This is a great place to order your food and then take it away to eat down the harbour. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is cooked to order and is then piping hot. They are always more than willing to pack one large portion into two boxes to share. A very clean, hygienic shop. Great!

Have eaten regularly at Laurian's fish and chip shop.Their fish is fried to order and is well worth the few minutes wait to have it freshly prepared.Chips are always a nice golden colour.Have eaten on occasions their own made Risoles and have no complaints to their taste.Try and get there by early evening as the do shut around 8pm.

I have visited this restaurant for take out several years in a row and make it a must upon each visit. The owner takes pride in his product and the food proves it.

I had been to most restaurants in Burry Port but i had never tried Laurians.I went in and met the owner who was busy dealing with a long line of customers,after he had served several he ran out of fish.He put several good chunky pieces in to fry,hurry up someone said,he was having none of it, as he said there is only one way to prepare fish and thats correctly.Although i was hungry,i thought there is no argeuing with that,and it was worth waiting for, the fish had a golden crispy batter and the chips nice and brown, covered in salt and vinegar to taste and placed in greaseproof paper, i wondered off down station road a happy man.Thoroughly recommended.
