We had been here about 10 years ago, and were left underwhelmed, but had a visitor to entertain and thought would give them a second chance. So pleased we did as it was fantastic, had the 5 course menu with a glass of wine. The service was attentive, and the presentation of the food fantastic, tasty too! One of the best meals we have had recently, and the deal of the 5 course menu makes it affordable. Thoroughly recommended, we will be back sooner than last time. The slow cooked egg, and the quail were highlights, plus all the little extras.

We went to L’Atelier for the first time for an early evening meal and regret we have no been there before. The quality of the food was excellent. We had booked a special offer of a 5 course meal, water, coffee or tea with a glass of champagne for £45 (exc service) which for the quality of the food was amazing value for money. The restaurant is located on the ground floor and is basically decorated in black. The kitchen is totally open and located on one side of the dining area with counter and high chairs around the kitchen for diners to watch the chefs cooking. Behind this area there are numerous tables for 2 or 4 people, again high tables and chairs. We were sat by the kitchen and had a perfect view watching the dishes being prepared and cooked. After a large glass of Veuve Cliquot champagne we were served our amuse bouche, a large shot glass of foie gras with a port reduction with a Parmesan foam on the top. It was amazing with stunning flavours. The complimentary bread was a warm mini sourdough loaf which again was excellent. For our starters my wife chose the smoked salmon tartare with pickled cucumber and a seperately served gin & tonic granita.whilst I chose the poached egg with mushrooms and bacon. Again both dishes were faultless, fully of flavour and beautifully presented. For our main course we both chose the quail with foie gras stuffing with truffle mashed potatoes and a separate dish of more mashed potato. Again absolutely gorgeous and having watched it being prepared added to the enjotpyment. The first 3 courses were served quite quickly but as soon as we started on the dessert then the service whilst still excellent slowed down and was more leisurely. We were then served a mango mousse with a coconut crisp before our dessert. My wife chose the white chocolate whilst I chose the dark chocolate mousse with ice cream. Again they were perfect. The wine list is extensive and expensive and we had a bottle of the Albariño which was very good value for money. The service was excellent throughout and the staff were friendly and very professional. This was a wonderful meal and we just regret we didn’t eat here a long time ago.

I had had the opportunity to go to L'Atelier Joel Robuchon some other times in Paris and NY. It was the first time in London. In Paris the service and the food were always amazing. NY a little bellow. In London the experience was as amazing as or better than Paris.

Dined here last night (21 March). The restaurant was the choice of my partner so i didn't know what to expect, but wow!! What a fantastic experience. The food was what you'd expect from a chef with 32 Michelin stars. What makes this place special is the staff. They're knowledgeable and helpful but not overbearing or waiting to kick you out. We were lucky to sit at the bar and watch the kitchen in action was fascinating in itself. Great value with the glass of vino in the deal.

The latter was tasty, classy and out of this world. The service was impeccable and all served within 1 hour to allow us to go attend to our theatre. Would definitely come back!

It was a bad experience for me. I was alone that night because my husband didn’t like French food and what happens? didn’t enjoy my experience with the staff. The waiter was inefficient and lazy. The girl that was giving me the foods, not friendly and felt like she didn’t enjoy her job and not smiling and could hardly understand her when she talked and described the food selection. We’ve been foodies for a long time, been to the best restaurants in the world and can spot a good restaurant and crew the moment we step in and have a seat. Food was not great on top of that. Total waste of time and money. I still gave 20% tip which I regretted. Will never go back and that’s it and will tell my hairdresser that this restaurant she recommended was inferior and badly managed. If only the late Joel knew what’s going on now in his establishment now that’s he’s gone, he’ll be rolling in his grave.

Wow wow wow. This is an expensive joint but if you get the pre or post theatre deal it is astounding value. I love the amuse bouche of Parmesan foam and foie gras mouse. Other memorable dishes include the famous mashed potato which is about 80 per cent butter. I enjoyed it so much that they brought me another which was very kind. When I have saved up enough money I will go back and have the full a la carte menu!

Quite an intimate place, wether you are there to watch the chefs and cooks ballet or for sharing a few exceptionnal dishes, I recommend the place. Discovering high cuisine, having nice wines to go with it. If it were possible I would definitely eat there every day!

I liked the wine selected - some more interesting wines from Slovenia and a white from Rioja which was excellent. I think ask the sommelier for a few challenging wines and you won’t be disappointed.

It was my wife’s birthday and we had the 5 course stardeal lunch menu at L’ Atelier de Joël Robuchon. It’s £45 per head. The ambience and customer service were exceptional. The waiting staff were super attentive and polite. Although the portions look small, we experienced first hand the importance of quality ingredients and how each component adds to the whole. The foie gras royale amuse Bouche was amazing. The caramelised quail (stuffed with foie gras) and mashed potatoes were absolute show stoppers! Culinary perfection. The complimentary vanilla madeleines at the end were a nice touch. The staff came over and sang Happy Birthday to the missus...we weren’t expecting that but were pleasantly surprised. Our total bill for 2 was just over £100. Highly recommended for special occasions.

Mi pareja me trajo aquí para mi cumpleaños, porque, conociendo mi amor por la comida francesa, me trataron con el "Menú de experiencia". Él no sabe que estoy escribiendo esto, así que no tengo la obligación de ser generoso en mi revisión. El menú Experiencia fue tan bueno como parecía y para un restaurante estrella de Michellin los dos estábamos extraordinariamente llenos (es posible que lo haya hecho en exceso en su puré de papa, que era 50% de mantequilla y 50% de papa). We had the £39 lunch menu, which for the quality of the food was excellent value, since it included mineral water and a glass of wine. The helpings were small, but we certainly did not come away hungry, because we were given a delicious amuse bouche, a large chunk of good bread and the main courses were accompanied by a portion their famous mashed potatoes. We were also give some petit fours at the end of the meal, even though we declined coffee . The only dish we did not enjoy was La Betterave (mainly beetroot), which tasted rather too much of vinegar- I assume due to the green mustard sorbet it included.

The food and [French] service deserve their Michelin recognition so what is different about L'Atelier? The lighting, décor and furnishings create a warm, intriguing and informal atmosphere, with seats both at the "bar" with a view of the kitchen, or at tables: be sure to ask when you book. The set price menu, unlike some, is available for Saturday lunch and offers fair choice and very good value. And there is the famous mash, or smooth creamed potato that comes whether ordered or not; it is not easy to resist. The quality is excellent with the intensity of flavour that is a hallmark of fine cooking.

Il locale è assolutamente fashion, tutto è studiato nei dettagli, ampi spazi accolgono in ambienti strutturati e arredati per infondere immediata la sensazione di opulenza, divani e quadri alle pareti colorano e sottendono al piacere del cibo. L'Atelier si apre con una sala di medie dimensioni disseminata di "tavolini e trespoli", mentre il lungo banco prospiciente la cucina consente una visuale ravvicinata sulle attività della brigata ai fornelli. Menù degustazione di 5 pietanze + appetizer di Fois gras gentilmente offerto dalla casa. Eccellenti materie prime, preparazioni impeccabili, personale all'altezza. Niente da dire... tranne una piccola ridondanza di ruoli nel servizio. Cantina memorabile. Il conto è salato... il cibo, per fortuna no!!!

The restaurant shows itself worthy of the Michelin star. The lunch menu is modest in size, but offers enough beautiful dishes with varied ingredients. Incidentally, in all honesty, I would rather regard some dishes as an amuse. The quality of the dishes is good, as you would expect from a starred restaurant. The wine list could be a bit more varied - there are only a few wines under 60-75 pounds per bottle. The staff is friendly, but should be a bit more attentive: the butter came a long time after the bread, friandises only came when the coffee was already finished et cetera.

We arrived about 10 minutes early before opening for dinner service and can see the employees getting ready, they were kind enough to let us wait in the reception area. It might have just been me but I thought they could offer us drinks while we waited a little but I guess it might have been a policy not to serve any drinks until the restaurant opens. That aside we had a booking and by this time more customers started arriving and finally we were guided to our table.

I reserved a table a month before the date my husband and I were supposed to dine. We wanted a quiet, romantic lunch before watching a West End Show for his birthday celebration. This restaurant exceeded our expectations. Our meal was delicious. I also informed them ahead that it was my husband's birthday and they did a special dessert for him with a "Happy Birthday" without me asking them to do so. Very elegantly done. We also went to the lounge upstairs for coffee and more dessert, and we were lucky to have the place to ourselves. It was a weekday after all.

Very friendly employees. My husband was unhappy because we were seated at the bar instead of a table but it turned out to be okay. Turns out my daughter agreed to that when reservations were made. The staff made sure we were on a corner so we could converse with our kids. The food and wine was just fabulous. Every course was great. It made for a very memorable Christmas 2018. Highly recommend.

The star deal is an unbelievably good offer and you're almost waiting for a catch as there is no way you can get food and service this good for this price-but you can!! Ever dish was delicious and the flavour combinations stunning. The quail, pork, mash and dessert were highlights but it's tough to pick as everything (including the delightful petit fours) was amazing. Impeccable service too. Being seated at the counter is amazing too as you can watch everything that is happening and see how well organised the kitchen is. Would highly recommend!

Great buzzy atmosphere with super decor. The menu is varied with taster menu portions or main course. 2 of us chose 5 taster dishes to share while 2 people had a starter and main. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, despite allowing two hours we ran out of to have desserts and coffees. The drinks service is crazy and a real let down. They won’t leave the wine bottle on the table and when you are able to get served they only put a small amount in the glass. Having forgotten a coke order we went through both courses with no wine, no water nor soft drinks, only managing to get a small drink between courses. Real shame at the high price and for excellent food. Disappointing as we left the restaurant with probably half a bottle of wine we had paid for sat somewhere on their bar! The second set of taster dishes was only half eaten as we were too thirsty.

I used to come often to this restaurant and while never top, I always enjoyed the food. Not anymore. I just came out of a most disappointing experience. I never write reviews but this was so disappointing I felt compelled to share my experience in the hope it can help others. My starter was a poached egg which was good enough but was accompanied by “chanterelle” mushrooms which were just a sorry tasteless soggy mess. Then came the sweetbread which is one I am always looking forward to... but which was in the case literally tasteless. My next was a sole meunière. This was cooked alright but the sole itself tasted of absolutely nothing. My finish was a rum baba - only that the rum was used was totally uninterested. The service was good but the sommelier was terrible and the wine by the glass totally uninteresting. The one thing that was consistent with previous experience was the price. I will not come back. If you are into presentation and little substance this place is still unique: if you want to be amazed I would not recommend this place.

The format is eat on high stools - either at the bar or at side tables. The bar is best because you get to watch a 1-star Michelin kitchen in operation ("Oui, Chef!") and chat to the very friendly, knowledgeable and laid-back staff.

We didn't eat here (will do next time) but went for cocktails on Sunday evening and had the most amazing experience. The French barman could not have been more helpful, creating cocktails according to our tastes. He was attentive and most engaging, making our experience so much more than just a cocktail in stunning surroundings with a wonderful ambience. My daughter and I could not believe our ears when he said he had only been there three weeks - his personality shone and made it a truly special evening for us. Thank you. We will return!

I booked the pre-theatre 5 course menu which also included glass of champagne/water/coffee. My friend and I enjoyed the whole experience, from the attentive service, the food itself and the atmosphere. My friend has to eat gluten free and I don't eat meat so they were attentive to ensure everything went smoothly. There was one minor problem which they resolved straight away. We couldn't ask for more.

This restaurant was booked for my Birthday and I was pleasantly surprised. The ambience is relaxing, lighting is perfect and no blaring music which means you don’t have to shout at one another across the table. From start to finish my friend and I had the best time. Waiters instantly brought water to our table followed closely by a small loaf of freshly baked bread and an amuse bouche. It was the start of great things to come. The waiting staff are attentive without being intrusive which I liked. We went for the 5 course lunch menu which was decently priced and plenty of choice. The attention to detail with the food is delightful, and everything tastes delicious. I thought it might be too rich but it was to die for. The kitchen is run like clockwork under the executive chef. This is our new favourite restaurant in London. You will not be disappointed, and wine chosen by the waiter was lovely. The added touch of chocolates with our tea to finish off was simply perfect. Can’t wait to return.

Work lunch: with the bread and butter they had served before starters, I was using the main plate to butter the bread. When I had picked up the bread to eat it, our waiter came back over with a dirty look and just took the plate away that I was still using, leaving me to hold the bread, slightly puzzled and assuming that he took the plate because the starter was about to be served. It wasn't and he didn't say anything before walking off with it. My colleague told me quietly that he took it because I was using the wrong plate; that the little square plate to the top left of the main plate was the 'bread' plate that should have been used. I didn't know this and was embarassed and upset at such rudeness. Otherwise the receptionist was lovely, we could see the chefs cooking and staff prepping plates which was interesting. Wouldn't come back here again for non-work related meal, due to the rude waiter and because of the really overpriced menu which is not value for money.

Having arrived promptly for our 2:00 pm luncheon reservation (they couldn't fit us in before then) we were sternly informed that "Chef" required our selections urgently before the kitchen closed. Luckily they did then manage to literally squeeze us in next to the only other diners in the establishment. The A La Carte and the set menu were presented to us with strict guidelines from "Chef". We must all choose the same menu. Experimentally I asked to be seated elsewhere and to pay separately to enable me to choose from the set menu and "Chef's" relayed response was - 'Non'. I ordered the scallops which, it transpired, were singular and then the quail. an ashtray of mash was included but no other legumes were available. The minute portions were good. The cheapest red was a passable Pauillac at £95 a bottle which was removed from our table at every opportunity but always begrudgingly returned if we were quick enough to catch the server's eye. At £150 a head it should be better.

We booked this restaurant when looking for a place to eat before going to the theatre, initially we were trying to book the IVY but no times were suitable. Lets just say I am delighted we didn't book the IVY. Our booking was for 5.30pm the show started at 7.30pm so this gave us plenty of time to enjoy our dinner even though we didn't have to give the table back until 8pm. We opted for the 3 courses from the pre theatre menu, the 3 courses included a glass of wine and water, however to be honest the 3 courses felt like 5 courses. Everything was so french, the staff were all fluent in french and English. The meal consisted of an amuse bouche before the starter, which was delicious. Then the starter which was explained in detail, mine came with a little crushed ice gin and tonic. Then we had the main course, everything explained again very delicious. Lastly we had desert which was perfect and all explained. Oh I forgot to mention the warm sourdough bread we got at the very start which was delicious. As we sat finishing our drinks we were presented with a little bowl of delicious mini treats 6 in total. Initially I though the portions were going to be tiny and we would leave hungry, the portions were just right and we most certainly did not leave hungry. The whole experience from start to finish was exquisite, the attention to detail of the food, the attentiveness of the staff, being able to sit and watch the food being prepared right in front of you. A fantastic dining experience and at £45 each is definitely a very worthy treat.
