I studied and lived in Northern China many years ago. The Lāmiàn (hand-pulled noodles) here in the Noodle Bar are hand-made, which is very rare in Europe. It takes years of practice to master this technique. I would eat the Lāmiàn the traditional way: In a big bowl of soup with beef. Delicious! Everything in and around this bar feels like the real street food stuff in China.

This is the hidden gem we wanted to find on a day where we didnt book anything but it was a bank holiday so places were booked up. Food was amazing especially the noodle soup with a side of garlic cucumber.

Great choice of dishes, in the heart of Leicester Square at affordable prices. Great service, hot food and good value for money.

Ordered whilst waiting in the queue outside. Taken downstairs to a crampt basement room. Husband sat on a tiny stool. This is not a fine dining experience. But the noodles are really good. They pack in the customers, serve them tasty noodles, fast, and expect you to eat then leave. We weren’t long off the train and had somewhere to be. We knew what to expect. And it cost of less than thirty quid for lunch in central London. It is what it is.

Attended this restaurant and had a really strange and rushed experience. Staff initially gave us a menu then took it off us, then told us to go the main counter to order. At the main counter, the staff wouldn’t let us order anything from the menu and kept trying to make us order the pre-cooked food on the counter. It felt like pressure swelling and they were quite forceful. We only ordered one dish in the end as we weren’t enamoured by the service. We were made to sit on a table with another couple - it’s cramped and dirty. I don’t think hygiene is top of the restaurant’s priorities, which relies on passing trade from the nearby underground.

Believe the reviews, the noodles here are excellent hand pulled and super tasty. The best way to describe the service is efficient. Don't expect a smile but do expect a delicious meal. I had fried char Sui pork noodles and my daughter had chicken soup noodles. Massive portions so go when hungry. Price is pretty good for Chinatown/Leicester Square. Will go again.

Authentic, excellent. Not fancy! This was such a great experience. Food was authentic-noodles homemade and sliced freshly. Had Dan Dan in broth and it was excellent!

This is your typical hole in the wall Chinese joint. Zero service, aunties yelling at everyone, nothing is clean..but the noodles are darn good. We sat in the basement on stools next to the employee coat closet (lol). Open late, the noodle soups are hot yet noodles are chewy and delicious. If you can brave the atmosphere, give this a try for authentic quality dao xiao mian or la mian.

This is the real version as you would experience travelling in Asia! Everything brought back memories of Hong Kong’s traditional noodle bar in the 1990s. Be warn: do not expect 5* star service, it’s as authentic as it comes. Fast turnover rate, manic staff walking in and out the restaurant with dishes etc, chefs making noodles with chaos around them. There you go! Food was delicious- that noodle is the BEST noodle ever, brings back the nostalgia and memories of childhood. So pleased we were introduced to this place. I wouldn’t even know it was here if a friend didn’t take us.

This place is cheap and rated >4 stars on Tripadvisor so thought it was worth a try. Offered a table outside and we should have taken it. Car fumes much better than the dingy depths of this restaurant. We gave our order in the queue and after 10 minutes were led down a single stairway (fire regs?) to a broom cupboard sized room. Given a 2ft square table up against a door (to where?) for 3 people. One of our meals was already there. It was cold. We were hungry so two of us shared it. After 15 minutes the other meals still didn't arrive. After chasing them up they came after another few minutes. Server not helpful and rolled eyes when asked for a fork. A guy was preparing garlic on the floor of a corridor downstairs. This was all bad enough...but the final 2 meals were chicken noodles in different sauce. The chicken was so soft as to cause us to gag. It was really white and almost jelly like. I've not idea how it was cooked. It did not have the texture of any chicken I have ever eaten before. I wish I'd taken some photos to share. It was like an eating trial. We didn't eat 2 of the 3 meals but were charged for all 3. When I complained the guy's english wasn't good so I gave up after he knocked off the cost of 1 meal. None of us had food poisoning but the experience was not one to be recommended. This is not the first time Tripadvisor reviews have let me down. I'll be using google in future or better still doing some research before we start out.

I came to this restaurant as I was recommended by a friend but I'm shocked by the rudeness of the staff in this restaurant. The two women waitresses had no patience in serving you or any other customers, they seemed like they did not want to be there, or can be bothered to answer any of your questions, at times can be very intimidating towards you. I did not feel comfortable or safe during my visit. The worst experience ever, won't be returning and wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit here.

I am convinced we must have ordered wrong. The food was bland, the line was long, and I was throughly unsatisfied. It is a late night spot though, and those are few and far between.

We felt the staff was unfriendly and gave us an attitude. I enquired about a set meal advertised on their window, but the cashier told us to sit down and look at the menu, didn't want to answer my question. When I wanted to order, the waitress remained behind me instead of coming to the side of our table, I had to twist my whole body around to face her in the already crammed restaurant. When we wanted to pay the bill, the cashier became impatient when I didn't understand their payment system, which is something like you get 10% off if you pay by cash. Overall an unpleasant experience. However the food was good and not too expensive.

A great place for a late dinner. Not a lot of seating space, so you might be better off ordering to go. However, you can see the noodles being made on site, and the soup and meat are fantastic. They also have an intense hot sauce that will give your meal a great deal of fire. I loved this place and would totally go back.

This was the only time we had Chinese food in London. The place is a hole in the wall. There was a queue when we arrived, but got in pretty quick. They gave you menu to look at while in line so you can place order quickly. Food arrived pretty quick . Noodles were fresh, but the broth was just OK. We had better noodle soup in California. They gave you a little discount if you pay cash.

Pedimos sopa, tuve Dan - dan (sopa de fideos con pollo) y mi novio porksoup. La sopa de pollo estaba bien con sabores agradables, pero la sopa de cerdo estaba mezclada. To be honest, the taste was not bad, it’s very similar to the real beef noodle in Lanzhou, worth trying.

As every true Asian restaurant, the service is basic towards bad, BUT the food is authentic, tasty, cheap and always made fresh! Don't forget to get dumplings with your noodles

Soy un fan de los lugares baratos y alegres / buena relación calidad-precio, pero estos lugares no eran esas cosas. Nos sentamos abajo y, tan pronto como nos sentamos, fuimos acosados al orden, lo que arruinó nuestra experiencia. Love this spot, it’s one of my favourite cheap eats in the city. It’s hard to find, it kindof looks like a convenient store from the outside but it’s a true hole in the wall. Get the hand pulled noodles in soup or stir fried!

Basically, I seriously hated this place. The food itself was alright. Not special but not bad by any means. It’s not expensive or cheap, it’s average. I wouldn’t bother to return if I’m looking for good noodles. I was just annoyed by the horrible service. Tap water isn’t free, like what? They rush you to order. We had been sitting for maybe 30 seconds before they started hounding is to order. They did not speak any English at all, which is fine but they’re getting in your face and you can’t understand what they’re saying. I have never written a review on this site before, but I had such a terrible experience I really felt it was necessary. Who doesn’t give out at least one glass of tap water? Like really?

Fresh noodles with plenty of flavour and character. Food it cheap easy and relatively quick. The service is hit and miss but in a great way that you kind of find endearing. 8 quid for fresh and delicious duck soup with fresh and pulled noodles allows for a bit of give in the standards.

Too slow, wait outside for 30mins for two dishes. Never visit again. The flavour is not as good as before.

Their hand-pulled noodles are gorgeous. I recommend them dry, fried or in a soup. The service isn't the best but it's part of its charm. A trip to China

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. They were extremely rude to us and the food took a long time to arrive. If we are paying for some sit in service, one expects to at least see some decent customer service. The people here only knows about money and has no respect whatsoever for customers. Please avoid if you do not want to spoil your day.

My dish came with a long piece of someone’s hair inside & then they changed it and gave me another one or took the hair out who knows... Barely got an apology. The least I expected was a discount off my bill but they didn’t care. I managed to convince myself to stay. The noodle soup was good and flavoured. Very filling dish I struggled to finish. I am not sure if it was the thought of the hair stopped me from finishing. Aubergine dish was also good. Very small inside & as long as they serve you without hair in your good.

This is the place to go if you’re looking for the real deal. I got a bowl of duck noodle soup for a little over £8, which is pretty cheap for central London. Don’t let the appearance of the restaurant fool you - the food is absolutely delicious. It is very small and very crowded (you get seated at tables with other customers), so if that isn’t your style I wouldn’t come here, but if you’re alright with that this is definitely a special find.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in chinatown and everytime I have been there, the noodle soup has been amazing. The portion sizes are huge, and everything on their menu is worth a try. Definitely one of the best cheap eats in London.

I noodle sono serviti fritti, in brodo o secchi e le possibilità di combinarli con carne, pesce e verdure infinite. Il resto del menù non lo ho considerato scegliendo dry noodle con maiale e verdure. Le porzioni sono abbondanti e il prezzo basso considerata la posizione. Il locale piccolo e affollato e sicuramente capita di condividere il tavolo nella confusione e negli odori pungenti. I piatti però sono buoni e spiegano la coda.

Noodles pulled right in front of you, super busy, average pricing, flustered staff and slow service. Overall it would've been a 3 star score from me UNTIL I visited the bathroom and saw kitchen staff exiting without washing their hands. Even if they were going straight back to the kitchen and washing them there, it would still reassure customers to wash their hands in front of them as they use the same facilities. There's even a sign to remind them. Pretty gross.

asian-american here - heard about this place from multiple friends who had visited London. dragged my in-laws here during our London trip (they are Chinese-American - they're originally from Hong Kong and Laos and studied in Taiwan) and even they were impressed (and they are hard to impress) and found the food authentic and well done. it's everything you want and expect - cramped quarters, hole in the wall, blunt/no-nonsense service, outstanding food. feeling grateful for the diaspora.

Seeing a long queue outside this place, me and my friend decided to try it out. There is a very valid reason why this noodle bar is so popular with Chinese people: it's very good! Unfortunately we were a bit budgeted as we didn't bring much money, so therefore we couldn't explore more. However, this did not stop us from leaving with a satisfied and full stomach! Even with just £10, you are guaranteed a great meal. The menu is different as it is similar to the traditional noodle bars. If that is too overwhelming, they have a set menu to order, such as starters and mains. This is a Chinese version of a fast food restaurant: a tasty and quick delight! There are many options to try, such as soup, dry or fried noodles. They have different meats, fish and vegetables and even have rice with an addition of your choice! If you like variety that is quick and easy to choose, come here. I personally got the fried noodles with duck, and the portions they serve is great! If you're looking for a cheap drink, I would recommend getting the soy milk for only £1.50. Overall, even on the most crowded days (which is nearly every day), they serve great hand pulled noodles and other amazing dishes to try. Best in London by far!

They make the noodles fresh there and then! I like the atmosphere of the restaurant but I get the impression not everyone would. I was expecting to walk out on to the streets of HK after we'd finished rather than central london! It's a rare thing to find a restaurant that does that in England.

The place is already squeezed with hardly any room to move. Asked to move while eating my noodle soup so they try to further squeeze another customer next to us. Somehow no one want it. Not really surprise!

A great place to eat noodles! The food is very cheap but great quality and a massive choice. This isnt a top end restaurant with swanky plush surroundings. Its a spit and saw dust cafe with minimal seating.....but the food is really really good.

Our first meal in China after we arrived. Noodles were so good we had more, meal was very hard to beat.

I was in a rush and so opted for a selection from the buffet, which I sat down to eat outside. Halfway though eating I uncovered a short black hair so went back into the shop to show them. Initially they tried to tell me the short black hair, similar to the hairstyles of all the chefs inside, had flown into my food whilst I was eating it outside, which was ridiculous. Had an apology and partial refund been offered I would have been satisfied and left, but no apology rather an accusation that it was my fault. They offered to 'match' the remaining amount of what was left of my meal, which having found a hair in, was no longer an option. Really it was completely obvious the food was from one of the 5-8 staff working in the very small open 'kitchen area', who were all without hairnets and absolutely ridiculous to suggest somehow a hair from outside had buried itself deep into my sticky food in the five minutes I was outside. Would definitely not recommend the buffet, nor will I ever eat here again. Just apologise.

The food is delicious and cheap, the service is quick and the staff all speak Mandarin. Will definitely be returning soon!

中国人お勧めのレストラン。とにかく美味しく、値段もLeichester Squareというロケーションを考えれば安価です。近くのChina Townには広東系（香港系）のレストランが多いですが、ここでは北方系の餃子等も美味しく食べることができます。もちろん、名物の麺も是非オーダーしましょう。個人的にお勧めなのがFried Noodlesです。日本で言うところの焼きそばのような感じですが、もう少しコクがあるイメージです。店内は狭いため大きい荷物を持ったまま行くのはお勧めしません。

This little restaurant, which serves delicious, freshly made noodles is right in the heart of London's lively West End.

The Chinese name of this place translates as "Orthodox Lanzhou Pulled-Noodles". And you should definitely get the pulled noodles, which are stretched and slapped on the counter in front of you. The broth and toppings are simple, and the best dishes are the modest ones where the noodles are left to themselves - the beef lamian [ramen]. The interior is bright, loud and cramped like the best small food-focused restaurants in China, and the staff are brisk but friendly, like in China too. They will box up for takeaway or even dabao too. Cheap as chips too.

My wife and I LOVED the hand-pulled noodles here. We ordered the fried style chicken hand pulled noodles as well as a beef noodle soup. Both were top notch and absolutely delicious. You could taste the improvement because they were hand-pulled.The service is also super efficient, which meant we got our food right away-- a big plus in our book.It was probably our cheapest meal in London and also our favorite. We spent the rest of our vacation talking about the noodles at this place and would absolutely stop by on our next trip to London.
