Lansdowne by Mother India in Glasgow City

Recientemente cenamos en el Lansdowne y fue sorprendido! Desde el ambiente cálido hasta el menú diverso, cada aspecto era excepcional. Los sabores de la India brillaron en cada plato, especialmente el pollo tikka y el cordero al curry. El servicio impecable selló el trato. Una visita obligada para la auténtica cocina india!

El gerente, chef y todo el equipo son muy muy amables y la comida que tuvimos las chuletas de cordero, kheema pav, pollo tikka, curry goan era excelente. Debo decir que era de primera clase y la carne de cordero era tan calmante que se derretía literalmente en la lengua. Yo recomendaría que una persona debe probar su comida una vez al menos porque si tiene su comida una vez, entonces usted vendrá de nuevo seguro. Es un placer estar aquí y con ganas de venir aquí de nuevo seguro.

Realmente me encantó la comida disfrutada cada poco de ella. El ambiente de este restaurante es algo a tener en cuenta , encanto de pub antiguo con una mezcla de entorno moderno . La zona de la chimenea es muy acogedor. Llegando a la comida 10 / 10 para sabor , frescura y preparaciones. Probamos las pakoras de jengibre, estaban crujientes y crujientes por fuera con el pescado suave derretido en la boca por dentro. También probamos las chuletas de cordero a la parrilla, oh son las chuletas de cordero más tiernas y jugosas que hemos probado. Definitivamente voy a volver. Un servicio muy cálido y rápido por parte del personal también.

Cena familiar, el servicio era bueno, pero la comida extremadamente pobre! ¡Suave, pollo cocido! Tampoco hay mucho que elegir en el menú

You need to seek this place out ....its not visible from eg Gt Western Rd . Nice decor and comfortable seating. Food is freshly prepared and tasty. Bit of a downside is that the helpings could be somewhat larger for the prices charged ( eg the pakora and particularly the sundries...sauce etc ). Drinks are on the dear side for beer but good value for cocktails ( there is a bar area with high seating for drinks only). Service very friendly, ingredients top quality.

Glasgow is blessed with some outstanding Indian restaurants and The Lansdowne is up there with the best. Outstanding food in beautiful surroundings and with staff to match.

Start with the positives the restaurant is lovely and the service was friendly enough. We ordered tap water but were given bottled water which they charged us 3.95 for so feel a bot cheated by that . The food we ordered was a major disapointment the fish pakora was nice but came with horrible sauce which was like plum sauce and not nice at all. We ordered chicken saag for my son which was so dry and tasteless he left half of it. My wife ordered a chicken curry which again was tasteless and cold into the bargain. For myself i ordered a lamb dish which again there wasnt much flavour to it and the lamb was chewy. We ordered rice and nan bread as sides but the nan bread was hardly cooked and most of it was left. As a mother India regular and my favourite Indian restaurant in glasgow i will be returning there im afraid and giving this place a miss. Its really dissapointing as its s beautifull place with nice staff.

Was looking forward to a lovely evening at The Lansdowne last weekend, however after our experience I unfortunately won't be in a rush to return. We had a table booked for 7.15, we arrived and were seated at 7pm so we probably ordered our food and drink by 7.15/7.20pm. We did not receive our food until after 9pm. It also took over an hour for 2 of our drinks to arrive (a cocktail and a beer) which we had to ask for 3 times before they came (an hour later). The food was delicious, however after waiting over 2 hours for it to arrive I definitely won't be rushing back anytime soon. The restaurant was extremely busy so I can understand delays, however we weren't told by any staff if there would be any delays, or given an apology by any of the staff for the long waits when we questioned it at the time of paying our bill, which was very disappointing as we love the restaurant.

This has to be one of the best Indian food I have ever tasted in the UK! I still cannot get over the starters specially the lamb chops (so juicy and flavourful), the bullet chilli(delictable) , the chicken tikka platter - omg it just melted in my mouth and I can go on! We went there for a family lunch about 10 people along with children and a toddler as well! The staff was so soft spoken and accommodating for every request we made. The food was fresh and tasty… and not to forget their drinks were really presentable and had a kick ! The place is amazing and is good for every kind of crowd- homely family lunch section, buzzing bar segment for friends for those night outs and pre gaming sessions as well as romantic date settings. Not to forget they also have a beautiful glass house which we are so looking forward to book soon for some occasion! This is one of the best places I have found in gLasgow! Will definitely come back!

The Lansdowne was once a pub with a great quiz night . It is now in my mind one of the best Indian Restaurants in Glasgow. I have been going for a couple of years, once a month, the menu changes from time to time with good seasonal food particular fish which is always sparkling fresh and treated with respect when cooking, They have a small menu with everchanging street foods from Mumbai. every dish is spectacular. just little plates of joy produced by Amit Sharma the Head Chef who also comes out to chat with guests from time to time, I guess when your name is on the menu you want the best for your guests, and the quality of the food proves this. There has been a few waiters in the couple of years we have come here but they are always charming and so good at their jobs. Service with a smile. In particular one older gentleman is a classic old school Indian restaurant waiter and always a pleasure to talk to. His menu recommendations have always been followed and spot on. I think the lamb grills have been excellent value for money the fish dishes including the monkfish and classic butter chicken as well as the roadside lamb with the hand cut chips are some of the best dishes, the seabass salad is also very nice when it is on the menu. The pakora and onion bhaji with all the dips are fantastic as well as the little potato cakes with tamarind. This restaurants just such good food and I cant wait to go again......next month.

The food at Landsdowne restaurant is incredible. We sampled some dishes from the street food small plates menu which were all cooked with so much care and attention to detail. The fish pakora was so crispy, fresh and tasty. The curry dishes, cocktails and service were also excellent, will definitely be returning again soon.

Amazing food ,fantastic service , and a vibrant atmosphere.the menu is extensive and unlike your typical curry house.you have to the order dal makhani .onion bhaji,butter chicken, paneer butter masala ,lemon cashewnut rice ,mix grill ,fish pakora,koliwada King prawns ,!! We went with another couple and had a range of dishes including honey chilly potatoes and vada pav and pav bhaji ,I could go on .but it to say no dish disappointed. Our server was superb and chef amit sharma I think bring the food to out table very fast .we wanted to talk to him but Saturday night was very busy .so did not get time to talk .we will be going back soon .

I went to Landsdowne restaurant with my girlfriend for lunch. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing.. this place is definitely a hidden gem. The food was top quality and very fresh. The cocktails were excellent. I would rate this place 10/10 and will definitely be back.

Went to the landsdowne on an itison deal. Pakora for 2 £2 each was excellent and we were given complementary onion bhajis which were also delicious - we had 3 different dips. 2 curry and naan for £5 each were also good although smallish / the naans were perfect. We also ordered a goan fish curry which we enjoyed / fresh and spicy with good portion of fish. Excellent value- we will be back.

Really poor. We had an Itison voucher. Three tiny cubes of chicken in a watery bland sauce. It might have been cheap but this was a joke!

We purchased an itison voucher for vegetarian curry and naan bread to test the restaurant before deciding whether to book it for a large business event. What we were presented with one can only describe as a small tiny bowl of vegetables (mainly potatoes) covered in spice. No one would call it a curry as the actual curry was missing! It was some dry vegetables, looking like leftovers from a night before! The portions were miniature! As a chef I would be embarrassed to serve a dish like that! Apart from the food we were also shocked by the prices! More likely London West End rather than Glasgow West End prices! The service was pretty poor for an empty restaurant. I had to apologise to my business associate for suggesting to try this restaurant and subject her to this experience.

Great grub as usual! - starters, mains, AND the fantastic double nougat ice cream to finish off! Can't wait to return!

This is a place ai've been to many many times as I'm a local and the food is really very good. However never pat by cash we have just been done for £40 because at least 10 minutes after we had paid they came back and said we were £2 short (we'd actually left an £18 tip) we then left a further £20 in case we had got it wrong, hey tild us it was only £10 thus us when we knew they were totally at it. I tried to complain in the restaurant and was not listened to. I eat there regularly but will Hever go back and will.aldo ge telling my friends not to do so. There are so many ither good places in this area and there us clearly someone with light fingers working there
