Land Oak in Wyre Forest

This is a great place for parties, family events or just a quiet night for 2. We have 2 very picky eaters and they really enjoyed their dinner. The food was excellent, the customer service was fantastic. And overall the experience has been amazing. We will be back time an time again. Well worth it.

I have taken a young lady friend of mine in her wheelchair on at least 5 different occasions now. Every-time we have been the staff have been so friendly and nothing has been too much trouble for them. They always get the door for us and make us feel comfortable. Special thank you to the dark haired girl who works behind the bar she is lovely and young man who brings out our food too. The Land Oak provides simple food such as a variety of burgers including vegetarian and Tai curry etc which is what you expect. Quick service with a smile and comfortable surroundings, what more could you ask for?

Staff were welcoming, calm and friendly, despite it being very busy. Our food came within 20 mins. We were impressed with portion sizes, and presentation. The atmosphere was good, company and food were good, so we ended up ordering dessert. We ordered online via the QR code on each table. It was easy to use and we had no problems. Will definitely be coming back

Food was dreadful fries was over cooked kids meal came out wrong & over cooked missing onion rings of 2 of the meals worse meal ever had . On the plus side staff was very nice .

After having visited on many occasions and greatly enjoyed the food and atmosphere, tonight (17th Jan) we left feeling very disappointed. Although the staff were friendly (as always), the food was (unexpectedly) very poor indeed. The Mac & Cheese was bland, the mixed grill meats were greasy and tasted cheap but the worst offender was the surf & turf: the steak came to the table virtually raw. It had been ordered as medium rare. We sent it back and the meal was bought back very quickly and the steak was still very rare. It was also very fatty and sinewy. The person who ordered this meal couldn't eat the steak as it was not to their taste. The waitress was incredibly apologetic and said she wouldn't eat it either. Although we were offered a refund for the surf & turf without any quibble, we left feeling very disappointed and will try somewhere else next time we fancy pub grub.

Steak was well over cooked when I asked for medium to well. Had no onion rings with it even though it's advertised on the menu as coming with onion rings. It was fatty all throughout the steak, chips were done in old oil and the beans were cold. Pepsi max was flat, I drink this daily and although Pepsi max has less fizz then coca cola this was completely flat, I wasn't asked if I wanted any ice and it was put on the receipt as having a lime wedge in. There was no lime wedge. Not once did anyone ask how my meal was through out the whole meal. Definitely not worth the £15 for a burnt fatty steak. Appalling.

Food was really over cooked. Had burger and steak table 25. Had to get our own knife and fork which was strange. No one asked if the meal was ok or checked. Chips over cooked and black bits where the fryer need changing. Steak was burnt to crisp and fatty. The burger was ok but yeah not great

We visited the Land Oak on New Years Day and on arrival were made very welcome. We ordered and enjoyed two lovely meals - a Mixed Grill and a Chicken/Bacon Salad. This is a Pub but great atmosphere, drinks and food.

Food well prepared. Turkey main would have been better with gravy in a boat rather than everything floating in it on the plate. Service excellent. Staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy.

It was my 1st visit to this pub and it was certainly worth the visit. The staff are very polite and pleasant. There’s a good selection on the menu and reasonable prices. I had the mixed grill which was really tasty and I would certainly have it again in the future. Highly recommended

Christmas lunch, Christmas day, amazing! Portion size brilliant, all piping hot , time given between courses, never felt rushed at all, staff wonderful friendly, think our waitress was Claire, bubbly and friendly, nothing we would change, thank you, you all did great when I'm sure you would of loved to of been with your own family. We called in here for Sunday lunch with our grandchildren. Despite the pub being busy we were able to get a table. The children were given activity sheets and crayons which was perfect whilst waiting for our food. There was a great choice of meals and good portion size. The bonus is the little play area at the back with a couple of things to play with. We will definitely come back again, thank you.

Cole was a fantastic host for our Christmas party thankyou we of an over all group of 15 had a fantastic evening.

Ordered a turkey Sunday roast and a beef Sunday roast. The vegetables were raw and the Yorkshire pudding was just a soggy and inedible mass. Won't be visiting that place any time soon. A complete waste of £40

Came here as we had 30%off food and it didn't let us down, good food staff go out of their way to help and make experience a positive one

Sunday lunch at the Land Oak is superb. We cannot fault the food and service here.

I was in Blackpool recently for the weekend and the lager in most pubs we went in was well under £3 a pint. I do not expect to pay premium prices in a brewery owned pub, especially when pubs such as Wetherspoons can undercut them by a considerable amount and other non brewery owned pubs as well. The Wetherspoons pub in Stourbridge is full most days, which reflects the reasonable pricing for food and beer. The food prices in Marston's pubs are also on the high side, but the food was mostly quite good and the service was good. If pubs are to survive they need to be competitive with regards to pricing and not charge through the nose....£3.10 for half a coke is very expensive in my view and the beer is too expensive...well over £5 per pint for Guinness is crazy. It's a nice enough pub, but well overpriced.

Sunday lunch visit. Had fish and chips, sirloin steaks and steak pie plus kids meals. Also sweets. Food served quickly and of good quality. Staff were helpful and friendly.

18 of us visited yesterday, we were in Kidderminster to watch the Harriers match & we had booked a table at the Land Oak for a meal after. We were all impressed with our meals, everything was tasty & well presented. Good menu choice, something for everyone. Everyone’s meal came out at the same time & all was hot & delicious. We had downloaded the 30% off voucher as well so excellent value for money. Thank you Land Oak!

Reasonable food at reasonable prices

Sadly we had to wait an hour for our food, when it came...pizzas weren't great, cheese in baked potato was non existent, hot dog bun was like rock, toast on club sandwich was burnt. Definitely won't be going again.

The cost today for a 200ml bottle of Prosecco was £8.50 x 2 equalling £17.00. This was excessive and I made my view known to the staff. The Land Oak is a Marston pub and 30 minutes later we visited the Exchange at Kinver which is another Marston Pub. The cost there for a 200ml bottle was £6.00. We have visited the Land Oak regularly every other week and enjoy our meals there. This has raised questions in my mind about future visits. This experience was very much an ‘own goal’

overall it was good, we had a slightly longer wait for food than we would have liked however the Steak and Ale pie was honestly fabulous, my business partner had a salad which he enjoyed also. Friendly staff but having worked in the restaurant industry before (Bernie Inns) I was a little disappointed no one came to check if our food was okay, as its always nice to give and receive great feedback. - used the ordering from the table which was fine overall an enjoyable visit. Would come again - this was a working / expensed lunch but would have been happy if I was paying myself

Myself and my friends meet in The Land Oak every week, I have brought lots of trade since we started using it too. Some of them have a meal and love the food there, the bar staff are lovely too and nothing is too much trouble. Last week unfortunately they now have a sign saying no Vaping which before wasn't a problem, as I am disabled it would be very difficult to keep going outside. At one time they had smoking and no smoking areas for the restaurant so surely this could be arranged for Vaping. Sadly otherwise we will have to look for another venue in future.

Lovely meal, fast service. We sat at the back of the restaurant within the children’s area. Our waitress Grace was very attentive with my daughter providing her with colouring crayons and bringing a teaspoon to help with her dinner. We will definitely be returning.

Hi Paul thought you should be made aware of the quality of our meal yesterday. I ordered Hunters Chicken from the Lunch menue. The amount of chicken on the plate was minimal. It was not the suggested half a chicken breast and the garnish was also of small amount with a small portion of tomato. Also the special offer steaks were dry in texture!! X £13. All 4 x meals disappointing in quality and amount. I did mention the steaks to the lady that served us and she wasn't too bothered. I didn't see the bill but on reflection the total did seem over priced. I'm not sure if our two deserts did qualify as part of the Lunch price @ £2.50. WE paid £87+ which was after our 30% discount.
