We haven't been here for a long time but decided to give it a try when recommended by a friend. We weren't disappointed. It used to be licensed but was pleased that you can now take your own alcohol. We had a pleasant welcome and the service continued to be helpful and efficient. The waiter who took our order knew his menu, and was happy to advise which seems to be getting rare these days. Even if I was being picky, I couldn't find fault with anything. Indeed the sheekh kebab was one of the best I've had in a very long time. Served piping hot and very flavoursome, they even split the portion on two salad plates. The Rezalla & Korai mains were both hot in temperature and flavoursome. The sides were decent sized portions and all very good, especially the very light garlic and coriander naan. The pistachio kulfi came with a lovely pistachio sauce topping which was a first for us. It also tells me that they are trying to continually improve their food. The wife has since been trying to track some down on the internet. Good value for what we had and we'll be back. Parking outside the door.

Had plenty of take aways from there..but first time eating in...food and presentation was first class as was the service and price...Will definitely be eating there again..had a really good evening.

Food was fabulous and fresh. Off the menu option was catered for without hesitation. The restaurant was clean and the staff attentive. The restaurant isn't licenced, so you need to bring your own drinks if you don't want a soft drink. There is a small car park outside which you have to pay for, although there is also street parking nearby if you don't mind walking.

A great dining experience. I like the plates with the individual sauce sections and the food is exceptional. Friendly staff and plenty of choice. I prefer it now that it's not licenced either so you can take your own drinks. I definitely recommend.

Overall, it's a good restaurant, if you like a lager with your curry, though you'll need to bring a bottle with you 😉

Absolute Horrendous The Meat Was So Over-Cooked It Tasted Like Grit And The Rice Tasted Like To Was 7 Days Old How Hard It Was . The Naan Oh The Naan Was Hard Enough To Knock A Nail Into A Wall , This Is Outrageous As I Paid 24 Rotten Pounds For Food Like This, I Was Disgusted!

Not impressed We knew it was bring your own beer but when they then said cash only and they wanted to know well in advance (week before) because there was 8 of us, what we wanted it was a bit awkward when you don’t know what you feel like eating a week before and to cap it all when the bill was paid they never came back with the £4 change. Instead they all stood in the corner jabbering looking at us It’s probably the best £4 we spent as we won’t be back Food was ok to be fair but no better than any other

normally have a "favourite" take away shop which was not the lamp, safe to say I will not be returning to my old "favourite" and am now hooked on the food from the lamp!! absolutely unbelievable food and the staff are very polite!!

Came as a family 3 months ago for a intimate birthday celebration of 5 people. Every dish we had was served perfectly and in plentiful portions that we ordered exact amount for us all to enjoy and got through it. Poppadoms with the toppings, perfect, fresh and crisp! 2 pilau rice with 1 plain rice, fresh, fluffy and flavourful! 2 naans, sizeable, plentiful, hearty and next level to any others I've had elsewhere. Multiple curries differentiating in Chicken Tikka Masalas and Jalfrezis, which all were absolutely terrific in flavour, and on point with tenderness. Really recommended for famalies, small parties, anything! The quality didn't drop besides how busy it was at the time and was a great experience overall! My family are keen of the Lamp Restaurant, having visited here before in the past. Thank you all!

I got food poisoning from the chicken tikka masala suffering from vomiting severe stomach cramps and diarrhoea within 45mins of eating, not a very pleasant experience would never recommend or reorder from this restaurant.. did used to order in the past and never had any issues but I believe the management has changed over and could explain the poor quality of food !!!

We love the ambiance of The Lamp and the restaurant always looks nice would never do a takeaway when such a good place is close by, the staff are very friendly and attentive , We always take our visitors because we know we can rely on the quality of food and service. Great prices especially the banquet meals which in truth are big enough for our appetite, take your own alcohol which they will open for you but expect to pay for non alcoholic drinks and they do have a small selection of alc free beer n cider at reasonable prices.

Been tonight with my partner and 2 friends for a meal...its was brilliant.the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly they couldn't have done any better...I will definitely go back and would recommend to others... Well done guys x

A very disappointing experience. We won't be going again. Poppadoms 80p each, dips £2 these are usually complimentary. Starters were OK, nothing special. Mains very poor, one of our group had chicken tikka massala, it contained just 5 small pieces of chicken and a lot of sauce. This was typical of our meals. Two kids had 5 chicken nuggets and chips with spoonful of peas. We felt we were treated like mugs. We certainly won't be again. You have been warned.

Eaten here several times, always a pleasure to visit, food is well-suited to Western tastes , absolute standout is the tandoori mixed grill and bombay potatoes, LUSH!!! Staff are helpful and super efficient, treating customers with kindness. Great place to eat.

Had takeaway delivered nargris kebab starter burnt meat?curry was ordered with extra garlic completely raw garlic.said would be 45 minutes came in just over 15 minutes never again waste of £20.00.

My husband and I had the most beautiful food this evening a delicious kashmirii lamb and chicken meat perfect and sauce to die for.Owner/staff really pleasant,friendly and beautiful surroundings spotless inside and out.Ample parking cannot fault it even the price very REASONABLE.Take your own alcohol but all soft drinks to be purchased inside.We will be returning soon with the family.

Popped in here tonight, in all honesty our first visit for over five and a half years. It was a shock to find the Lamp with no alcohol licence now as it was one of the few curry houses in Wednesbury with one. Never the less, we stayed and went for the £10.95 banquet menu. Starters and mains were excellent, and if these were smaller portions I’m glad we decided to go that way !. Can’t think of a real reason why we haven’t eaten here for so long, and it was maybe a little quieter and generally less “in your face” than it used to be, but that was OK for us.

Not pleased at all with our takeaway tonight 29.10.21..the rice wasnt fresh we had a keema naan no meat in it at all didn't seem fresh. The chips were like cardboard no taste at all in the whole meal. Not happy at all won't be ordering again.

We visited as a party of seven on Saturday evening. The restaurant was fully booked and very busy, clearly very popular and we we can see why. The food IMHO one of the best Indian restaurants in the Black Country. Amazing tonight yet again. Asked for Chicken tiikha pilau rice and egg fried rice...... egg fried rice came in pilau again (yellow) and the chicken tikha pillau rice came in pink and white colours............. couple of week ago they sent the chicken in my choice of egg fried rice and the other half had pink rice again with no chicken. just phoned to explain again and he said don't use us again.... needs to understand pillau, egg , other fried rices. The other week i complained he told off the chef about putting chicken in egg rice instead of pillau rice. we have used these for several years but recently they obviously have a problem with cooking rice and colours and flavours, does anyone else have the same problem. very nasty man on the phone, denied us access to speak with owner. their loss, why can you not get decent consistent food in WEDNESBURY, amazing!!

Had a takeaway from here tonight placed order online and was actually given a choice of time for delivery ( impressive)! The food arrived 5mins early and came piping HOT! The quality was first class will definitely be ordering again. 😀

I’ve just had to throw our takaway in the bin, both mains had chicken which was hard and chewy which should be tender, it has totally put me off ordering another, it’s made me feel sick, I’m not happy 😡

Ordered today as Curry and Grill up stone cross was closed. Very bland food I didn’t even eat mine , my partner ate his. I never normally leave reviews but after ready all the others I thought it was going to be lovely. We ordered Chicken Balti , Pilua rice and garlic naan. Balti was very bland no taste , rice had a funny understate and the naan had not a once of garlic but had a very sweet under taste. Thought it may just be so asked others to try , all said very bland. Definitely sticking to Curry and Grill Stone Cross

Just ordered a takeaway and have been very disappointed with what l received. Never tasted chicken saag like this in my whole life. There was no spinach in the dish. Just tasted sweet and creamy. If this dish was meant to be something else, then...
