I attended a wedding and was disappointed with more or less everything. The car park was a chaos, no parking attendant. Literally 20 glass for welcome drinks for 180 people with one type of cheap drink. Food service slow and food cold. Microphone not working and the bridal suite literally a box room without carpet or anything else

Had my sons wedding on 27.7.2024 very good food and staff was very nice and kind what a amazing day we all had thank you kindly regards MR RAJ

Do not pick this venue for any kind of event. Apart from just being decorated internally and looking pretty there is nothing else there. Parking an issue, no parking attendants are on site. Food service is slow to the point where even drinks are not put out on tables. We got drinks at the table after some of the food arrived. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There are better banqueting suites in the area.

Absolutely appalling service. Don't book your special event here otherwise it will get ruined. Food table service very very poor. Management/owner has no idea how to run this place. False promises made and special day ruined

We used to go all the time when it was a sit down restaurant. It’s now only take out and banquets. We therefore ordered a take out for collection as we live a short distance away. I spent over £40 on starters, mains and sides for two people and I’ve never had such disgusting food in my life. Masala Fish was flat cold and only two tiny pieces with an apology for a side salad. Chicken badaali was poor quality chicken and two slices of potatoes. Nothing like it used to be at all. Peshwari Naan had minimal filling and very disappointing. The mains were pure salt and inedible, absolutely awful. We ended up thrown it away it was so bad. Certainly will not be going back again, sad really because we used to love going. My advice is don’t waste your money on a take out. 🤢🤢🤢🤮

Visited La las today for our Christmas meal. Food was very good with a great range of choices. Venue was stunning and the staff were friendly and attentive. Christmas songs playing in the background provided additional festive cheer. Wonderful time enjoyed by the five of us.

Disappointing take away. 80 minutes to deliver, all luke warm. Poppadoms were stale, no mango chutney in pickle tray. Onion barji were undercooked and inedible. Chicken pakora were soggy, and the salad accompanying it looked days old. Garlic naan was plain and boring. Mains OK but nearly cold. Very disappointed after spending a lot on a take away, you need to up your game Lalas, won't be ordering again anytime soon

The place was empty..now I know why! We was shown to our table and the music was blaring, I asked the young waitress to turn it down abit..she did..for 5 mins..I asked her a few times during our meal to turn it down..we couldn't hear ourselves talking it was that loud. We ordered drinks..2 cokes..and was told 15 mins later that they only have irn bru or fruit drinks. Our food came eventually..and was cold..it was tasteless, the meat was fatty/slimy..and the naan bread was dry/stale. Not nice. We paid the bill and the young lad on the desk wasn't very thankful..took my money with no "thank yous". Don't visit the toilets...they're absolutely filthy..I had to use the mens toilets (we was the only ones in the place!) We won't be visiting again, it's a shame cos the place looked lovely..from the outside!.

Iv always had the best experience eating at Lala’s restaurants around Leeds. The staff are always so happy and so attentive. I told my partner this evening that it’s the only restaurant that’s always consistent with amazing customer service. I always recommend this restaurant to friends. The food was beautiful as always too.

As always absolutely stunning service and food, we dont get here very often, but when we do it never disappoints. The setting is luxurious and contemporary, the staff are first class, attentive cant do enough for you, and the food is authentic and just outstanding. It was great to get our LaLa's fix and we won't leave it as long.. Until next time!

Went this evening with my Mum and my daughter. Bizarrely this is a restaurant owned by someone we know. The service was awkward. I didn't expect my Mum to feel like she was a second class citizen because she can't speak. The food wasn't that great either, but primarily for me was the attitude of the staff towards my Mum. We have been to this restaurant more times than I can count. Tonight was something else. No interest in service, customers, or food. The food was not as good than the normal standard ie cold sizzlers food like warm, had ask for glasses for the jug of water, knives and forks to eat with. Basically it felt a chore to get fed . That us done.

Haven’t used Lala’s before and I won’t be using them again.Ordered a takeaway via UberEats. Order was placed at 18:30 but I delayed the delivery to 19:30-20:00. The food started being prepared at 19:00 but didn’t arrive at my door until 20:45!We had to heat up the food in the microwave as it was stone cold and whilst the mains were recoverable the staters were ruined. Waste of money.

Came here 2 weeks ago on fri before lockdown .food was good .Kingfisher small bottles over priced at £4.00 for a small lager .Just had a take a way delivered.food same as I ordered in the restaurant. Chicken tikka masala was bland .mushroom rice was watery.would not reccomend.very very poor.

I have been a regular customer for twenty years, who has always raved about Lala’s and introduced many friends to it. Having moved away to the Midlands, it’s been the place to visit on every return with my friends. However, I can now say I will sadly never be going again, nor recommending Lala’s in Batley to anyone Went this eve and the food was still of a relatively good standard. Service was not as attentive as before and the staff didn’t really seem to care. We had to keep getting the attention of staff even though the restaurant was not busy.When the bill arrived we noticed that most of the prices charged were higher on the receipt than had been stated on the menu.So we decided to ask the waiter who informed us that the prices were higher than the menu as the menu was out of date and the till had been programmed higher due to “eat out to help out”. Something amiss here if prices are different due to the scheme , that said we were visiting on a Thursday so the scheme, didn’t apply but alas should not be different to the menu. On principle I mentioned that this was not fair on customers and at no point had we been informed that there was a price difference. He responded saying the menu is for choosing food and not for showing the prices of the items which I disagreed with and asked that the bill be adjusted to reflect what was on the menu. Which he refused to do so we asked that he inform the manager of the issue . He arrived back and rather than the manager come to our table I was requested to come to the counter to speak to the manager.I remained at the table and another waiter came over and rudely asked what the issue was demanded I go to to the counter to speak to the manager. I would have expected the manager to come to our table.I went over to the counter and the manager who knew that I was a long visiting customer (he was a young waiter twenty years ago) was extreme abrupt, condescending, and disrespectful. He rudely said that we have eaten the food and should pay for it at the price charged . I explained that in principle you cannot charge more than what the menu stated and I didn’t like his tone. He went on to accuse me of quibbling over a few quid and especially in front of my other dinner guests. I told him he was being disrespectful and I settled the bill in full as I was upset at being treated so badly as a long term customer. Clearly something has gone rather wrong at Lalas Batley and I or my friends will never return again. End of an era! Advice to customers, check your Bill carefully. Advice to Lalas, get your menu and till prices to coincide as well as staff and manager getting some customer service training.

Ordered a sweet lassi on four separate occasions during one visit. A jug of mango puree turned up which i rightfully turned away. Atrocious service.

Got a take away from here on sunday,food arrived cold,myself and my daughter were poorly the next day,it was shocking,will never use again.

Even though I reviewed the restaurant fairly recently, I wanted to write another review for their takeaway service. Tonight we've had our third takeaway since lockdown began and it was wonderful again. The highlights were fish masala, chicken tikka and keema balti, lemon rice and a wide range of dips to go with our poppadoms. Their delivery drivers are unfailingly pleasant and polite. This is a great local family business that deserves to be supported.

As a lover of curry, this was the most authentic meal outside of Kashmir that I have ever tasted. The prices were reasonable, decor fantastic and service great. Even got a doggy bag for later!!

Went with the family this evening and sat down at 7.15pm we waited 20mins for the drinks order to be taken and a further 25 mins for them to arrive We received our starters at 8.50pm, 1hour and 40 minutes after sitting down The food was nice but not worth the wait The main course came 30 minutes later My husband was waiting for his side dish and my sister in law her main but it took a further 20 minutes for them to arrive by which time my husbands curry was cold , with no offer to replace or apology for the delay All in all it was a bit of a disaster The music is so loud you have to shout to be heard and I’m not sure if dance music is appropriate in a restaurant that sells its self as fine dining The shouting then makes the place feel like a canteen The whole restaurant is quite chaotic and a far from relaxing experience One thing to mention , the decor is lovely but the floors are marble and extremely slippy under foot, and that’s without heels !!The guy that showed us to our table was struggling to stay up right at one point Even when sat down because of the slippy floor surface the tables slide away from you if you leaned on them to eat When I mentioned it to a waiter his response was “oh yeah , I’m supposed to put tissue under them”!!On a sour note my husband when to use the toilet and the floor had been mopped but there wasn’t a wet floor sign in use and he slipped quite badly and banged his hip I really wanted to like this place but sadly won’t go again

Our previous visit was at a weekend when the food was lovely, but we had to wait an awful long time before anyone came to take our order, followed by a long wait for the food. We put this down to the place being busy because it was a weekend. Consequently, our next visit was midweek, when we thought we should be served more quickly. This, however, was not the case and another long wait ensued. One had the impression that, maybe, there weren't enough staff on duty.When I tried to order from the wine list, I selected several wines, only to be told, as I selected them, that my choice was not available and, eventually, the waiter brought two bottles to the table and told me that was the choice to select from. I chose one but, in spite of the label showing it to be a Barolo, it was pretty average, truth to tell. All rather farcical !This was a shame, as the food was well cooked and delicious when it arrived and the staff could not have been friendlier.The impression created was that, whilst the product is excellent, the business model needs attention, in order to provide customers with a comprehensively enjoyable dining experience.

Used to be a regular at this restaurant but havent been in a while. Decided to try with the family (5 of us) for a change after a long break. First sat down to dirty cutlery,asked politely to get some new ones and took 3 asks before giving up and helping myself to some from another unused table. Starter came and everything was fine, needed salt but that was more personal preference. I orded the chicken tikka and garlic balti. I could not eat it. Tasted like someone had spilt a bottle of salt into my curry and never owned up to it. I'm not normally one to complain and never before have I sent a curry back but due to not being able to actually stomach the curry, when the waiter asked if everything was okay I told him the situation. He very quickly came back with another of the same curry no apology or explanation (quickest service we had all evening) and despite bringing me back another of the exact same curry which tasted just as awful.. he put it down and left it till the end of our meal. The rest of the table tried the curry and was in agreement how awful it was, so much so I actually shared my mother's curry... we was ignored for the rest of the evening and there was no attempt to make things up to me. Paid full price for a meal I couldnt eat. And when we asked for a receipt there seems to be a theme with the printer not working as I have heard from friends previously, so unless you fancy handing over your email do not expect to get a receipt. I specifically joined trip advisor to share this experience because I have never been so apauled by the service or food in a restaurant before. I will not be going again and certainly would not recommend especially now I feel very unwell from the small mouthful I did actually eat. Lalas you have let me down.

We ate here again this evening and, as always, the food was very good. The service was excellent tonight - all staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. The set menu available earlier in the evening is an exceptionally good bargain.

Lala's had been recommended more than once, I eventually got round to trying it. All the rav reviews are true.The decor is so opulent and OTT its fab, my daughters adored the animal print, Chaise Longue and Throne in reception.We ordered starters and the 4 x 2 courses £8.95 offer. We really didn't need the mixed starter (although lovely) the portion sizes were good. If you have children and can get them to agree one between them would be fine.Food was amazing, I tend to go standard when I try a new place so Tikka Masala and Dansak didn't disappoint. Only criticism, please check your bill, they tried to charge us for the offer and then for the main meals separately, they were very apologetic when we pointed it out, but waiter didn't seem that surprised. That being said, will definitely go again.

Just had a great meal here, plenty of choices. We had the 4 dish options. £12.95. A great price for superb food. Staff very friendly and on the ball. Will come back and also order their take away in between.

Fabulous food and amazing service. We were seated on arrival, and had drinks within minutes. We all ordered different meals and when it arrived it was hot and fresh. The staff were very attentive and we were well looked after. We had our 2 year old and the staff spoke to him and at the end of the meal brought him ice cream and a balloon, I know my son felt over the moon. Will definitely be returning

Look like spring rolls, very bland and tasteless, would not buy again. Curries are tasty and worth trying. Staff attentive and the atmosphere is good.

The food is very good and reasonable in price. It’s a local restaurant and nicely done out.the staff are helpful to choose a new meal and knowledgeable on what the meals are. You can get vegetarian or ordinary food , with great starters and mixed grills or share platters.

Never been before family decided and persuaded me to go. Nice venue, carpet near our table was dirty as we were there as they opened for the evening I was surprised it hadn’t been vacuumed. Choices were plentiful, portion sizes very good especially the children’s meals. Service was quick, food tasty what more could we ask for. Impressed and will visit again.

Got a takeout for 2. Had the mixed starter for 2 which had various items the majority of the items were dried out. We got the chicken karahi. We usually have a lamb curry but was told it was chicken or beef so we opted for the chicken a big mistake. The chapatis didn't turn up with the order so I rang up and they delivered some 25mins later. We took one mouthful of the curry and left it. It was dire very salty and just couldn't eat it. We haven't used lalas for a while but we won't be using again the quality isn't there anymore

We recently visited Lala's in Batley. We usually go for lamb dishes such as seekh kebabs etc. These dishes were described as 'meat' dishes, with chicken dishes described specifically as "chicken dishes". Just before we ordered, I noticed in small lettering at the bottom of the menu that they say all their 'meat' dishes are 100% beef. I feel this would be better if it were mentioned clearer and prominently on the menu, possibly somewhere on the top of the menu, as some people may be expecting their meat curry to be lamb and not beef.

I have been to Lala’s for years, always happy with their food and services. I live in other side of Leeds so it takes me 40 minutes’ drive each way to get there but it all worth it!

Visited this restaurant in April myself, husband, son and daughter-in-law. First time I had ever been, my son has daughter-in-law have been before so was recommended by them, surprise was not the word the food was beautiful and proper paratha which we absolutely love, would we go again as a couple ...... yes definitely and we would pass on to others wok have never been, stop and try you too may be pleasantly surprised .

Been here lots of times before it was refurbished could get a drink then always good food now no lamb on menu no pickle tray on the set meal as a party of11 we were all disappointed,the place itself is lovely but will not be going again.

Went with family, fast service and absolutely delicious food. Enormous naans and ordered a variety of dishes all of which were cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!

We came here on Sunday to day goodbye to a work colleague as they had found a wonderful new job. Had arrived yes we had to wait for a table but that wasn't a problem there was a few customers in. As we were seated they took the drinks order near enough straight away, they don't serve alcohol but you can take your own. Any way a while went by before a young lad came over and took our order, the menu is extensive and with many different ones with many different offers on it can be hard going.

Went last night excellent food and great service Will definitely be going back highly recommend this restaurant.

A large group of us came to Lalas to say good bye and good luck to two friends. Several of us opted for the four course offer. I chose samosas, chicken, spinach and mushroom curry , rice then a coffee. I thought it was good value. We had elevated seating as a private dining area. The restaurant is very smart, the food was tasty and the service was good. Others chose a sharing platter with a selection of food. Many goody bags were taken home for later consumption.

We booked a table for six of us and were not really surprised to see that half of Batley had had the same idea. We were waiting a while for our table but were in no rush luckily. The staff (not enough of them) were rushed off their feet and did well to cope with so many customers. The sizzling starters were lovely as usual and the nicest part of the meal.

We have just been for tea and the service is very slow.

Lala’s Batley- Very enjoyable family birthday celebration. Nice setting, brilliant food excellent service. Costs around the £20 per head mark. Great for couples or larger groups, one of my favourite places to eat!

So we’ve walked in to the restaurant looking forward to a good meal. We’ve sat down and ordered what we would like. Then finally the food arrived, and little did I know that what I so patiently waited for would keep me bent over the toilet all bloody night. From the small portions, to the oil dripping curries and FROZEN donnor, I was appalled at the food. I’m just glad my little one did not suffer from what they served us. Calling what they served us “ food “ would be polite. Never have been to such a nice place which served and pardon my French SH*T food!!! I guess its safe to say, I was Robbed.

Regular customers of batley Lala's. Have a great relationship with both Akheel and Jay the managers, who are always happy to welcome us back. Fab service and lovely food can be expected.

Called in about 6.30pm, place was quite busy, mainly families. Seated straight away and served in very quick time. Plenty of staff. Meal was very good and reasonably priced. Would return.

Great value for money, the food is decent & there’s plenty of it. Ordered a keema naan as an extra & was the size of a meal on its own.

Having visited many restaurants up and down the country, we have to say that the service from Lala’s in Batley was exemplary, major credit goes to Khalieel who displayed fantastic customer service without being intrusive. The rest the staff where friendly and welcoming.

We ordered mid-evening and waited over an hour for our food. That said, it was excellent and the portion size was so big that everyone had leftovers (happy dog in our house!)

So I was tasked to arrange a party for my mums surprise 70th birthday. Mum loves curry’s and especially loves Lala’s. One phone call was all I needed to ensure the venue could accommodate the party. There were 41 of us in total. The staff could not have been anymore attentive. They dedicated a large area for the party. They put up banners and balloons. Arranged the cake to be brought out and sang happy burthday with the family. The food was out of this world. Beautifully cooked and hot when it arrived. There was food for man and beast. Well done to the waiting staff that night but thank you especially to Jay and Akeel. For making it all go smoothly.

Our family have been coming to Lala’s Restaurant for a couple of years and we have always enjoyed our food.

Decided to have a curry with a mate for Sunday tea and thought let’s try Lalas again after many years.

Harj our waiter was wonderful, really attentive and nothing was a hassle. Cost us £30 for 3 bottles of coke, popadom and pickle tray, 2 starters, 2 huge naan breads and 2 curries. Harj was also kind enough to offer a jug of water which usually when you ask for in restaurants it’s a massive hassle so was refreshing to have such attentive service.

Fantastic food will certainly go back would recommend this place to anyone who loves a good Indian service was great especially from the waiter harj made us feel very welcome hes a top man

Please drive past , heard so many good things about this restaurant, omg awfull looks amazing when you walk in , food not good , service was terrible, complained about wine which is terrible , said they was going to bring us a wine menu, which they never did , absolutely terrible , the waiters had dirty shirts on , but made it look good as chef comes out with gloves on to serve your food , and believe me not worth waiting for

First time we have visited lalas but we were very impressed, the prices are very reasonable and the food was really nice, I had the mixed grill sizzler and the portions were very generous, I couldn’t manage it all so I asked if I could have it packaged up to take home, no problem at all. Our waiter was very friendly and the service is great and efficient, decor is very modern and a bonus that they have a licence so we enjoyed some wine with our meal, will be visiting again

I ordered a take away delivery which was supposed to arrive in 45 minutes. 1 hour 15 minutes later it had not arrived so cancelled and ordered elsewhere. Very disappointing!

Lovely restaurant we have been visiting here for over ten years we have most family birthday meals here as we luv the food the quality n quantity is brilliant always the atmosphere is so nice the staff are all friendly n helpful every visit . It’s very reasonably priced too . We had many lovely evening meal here would highly recommend the delivery service is good also !!

Pleasant decor and atmosphere. English music (always a bonus). Food and service spot on. Wide choice menu. Just a really nice place to be.

Cutlery and glasses and plates not clean. Ordered pasanda and was the weirdest pink colour with tons of cheese in it...never had one like it before and left it all. Hair on naan bread stand. When asked if we had enjoyed the meal and I mentioned the issues we had instead of apologising and rectifying the situation the waiter was rude. Won't be visiting again as many restaurants offer same 5 course deal with much better customer service.

I realise that everyone is entitled to their opinion but the previous bad reviews bear no resemblance whatsoever to the restaurant I personally have been patronising since it first opened. Why do people wait to post negative reviews without trying to resolve any gripes while still on the premises and before the bill is settled?

By far the worst experience ever the waiter was rude he ignored us asking for anything and when we thought he hadn't heard he slammed down the items we requested my husband was still eating and they took the plate away talk about rushed dining an absolute disgrace I will never visit here again and I will be spreading the word To my family and friends

Probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to. No plates or glasses that came to our table were clean. I had to wipe lipstick off or ask for another one. I had to ask the staff three times for our drinks order. The staff could not care less about us. They just slammed everything down. The only exception was our main course, that man seemed nice but then again he tried to give me a dirty plate. Also I’m coeliac and oh yeah I now have a horribly upset stomach. I told the staff about this and still here I am, in pain. All in all I would not recommend this place to anyone. Food looked and tasted cheap as well.

Visited Lalas last night for the first time. These are out first impressions. The food is some of the best curry we have tasted. However this was spoiled by the clearing up process. Whoever thought it was a good idea to clear the table using a trolley. The food was scraped from the plate into a black bin liner by the side of the table. This may be convenient for the stafff but not conducive to a nice dining experience. Reminded me of school dinners. Totally spoiled what would have been a nice meal. Think again Lalas

I have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. We went early on a Saturday evening and ate from the special menu. 12.95 for, poppadoms, starter, main and sundry plus coffee and mints. Large portions of excellent food. Very good and attentive service. Honestly, this is the kind of place that you wish more restaurants were like.

Three of us visited on Sunday evening. We've been on a number of occasions, usually all is very good, tonight not so.

Custom service is horrendous went with a party of 16 my husband didn't get his main meal until everyone else had finished eating didn't get an apology his food was just slammed on table. He was accused of been abusive when he complained. Pretty disappointed with the whole night not a nice experience.

Went with my brother and wife (they had been before). Hard to park. Finally got a table. Service poor (forgot 2 starters which came late after 2 people had eaten theirs). Said they would sort out later but didn't. Food not cooked to a high standard as you could still taste the spices had not cooked out and prevented enjoyment of the meat/seafood (I ordered king prawns and they were very tiny and more like shrimps). Large naan bread was ok but service was poor.

the food was hot and well cooked. Service was polite and friendly. The décor is wonderfully blingy and we enjoyed a good competitively price meal.
