My meal was probably the best curry I have had in 20 years. The Pathia was divine and the Naan to die for. They accommodated a party of 14 with charm and efficiency. Highly recommended.

AVOID!!!!!! First visit I left 5*. Second visit & I left fuming. The curry was awful & the meat hard & rubbery, what was worse was the horrible attitude of the Manager he was wearing a grey waistcoat, was disgusting how he thinks its ok to talk to a customer in such a manner. How dare you talk down too me like I was a kid. Never again. Complete waste of money eating here my food went in the bin. FUMING 😡 All they care about is keeping there white customers happy sod the rest of them attitude.

Very friendly staff, not too busy so service was swift. I mentioned it was my birthday so after a while the music came on and a complimentary piece of gateau with a surprisingly long-lasting firework appeared at my table. Everything good.

food was delicious and reasonably priced- very generous portion sizes. Service was friendly and the restaurant itself is beautiful- can’t wait to come back.

Came here for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and the scenery was BEAUTIFUL. It was a dark setting with roses and a candle on our table and there were love heart shaped balloons eveywhere. At the end of our meal I was given a rose by the waiter who provided great service to us and the food was amazing as always. 100% recommend

Had a fantastic time at Lala’s Restaurant on Saturday! Both the waiters and bar staff were lovely! The manager was so welcoming and made sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The music and atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. A great spot for an enjoyable meal. Will definitely be coming back!

Don't know how this place does it. Service is outstanding. Food is consistently amazing. Absolutely delicious. Atmosphere fun, absorbing and relaxing. It's an experience with the benefit of outstanding food and professional staff. Find it hard to believe this place can be beaten. Delicious and truly world class.

I've been to the wakefield restaurant loads of times and been to the restaurant in Bradford and now this one had a good experience at each one

Ordered garlic spicy chicken but tastes more tomatoey than anything. Oily too. I do like the taste of the peshwari naan , good size too.

We dined in Starter was awesome but main was a disappointment we requested Asian style not too spicy but was a let down Plus smelt very pub style in there so wasn't the best

Amazing experience. Went for my daughter’s 16th. Really enjoyed the food and staff was amazing from Start to finish. Food prices are reasonable and atmosphere is just great. Will be going again.

The vibe was 🔥 with Bollywood bangers in the background, and the service was on point. But the food? Major flop. Super greasy, kinda bland, and mad overpriced. Definitely not worth it. 💸👎

Went on a Saturday evening. I was told not to book when I called earlier in the day but clearly people had booked, although we were seated really quickly. Our waiter was great and funny. We all thought the food was amazing. I've been a few times before and it's never been consistent, but I would try it again to test it out as it was so good. The only downside is that the music is way too loud. I've seen a few comments about this, but they don't seem to be listening to the feedback. If they could just turn it down a bit, it could easily become our new favourite restaurant.

Absolutely amazing food for great value, one of the only places I'll happily tip. Very nice inside and great atmosphere. Very enjoyable experience at an affordable price, can't go wrong

The food in Lala’s was delicious and the service was excellent. I was also amazed with the Assistant Manager Saifs hospitality. What a guy. I will recommend it to anyone living in Huddersfield or passing by to stop at Lala’s and enjoy flavourful food.

Ordered delivery from here as I have many times before, tried veg pathia rather than my usual achari or madras, it was the sweetest sickliest curry I’ve ever had, I clicked Asian style and dry but it was just carrots and potato like syrup/jam with pineapple in it! I think it was a pudding? I’ve had many veg pathia in bfd, but this was another level……..

We came last night for a wedding celebration the food was lovely and the staff went above and beyond the carried me up and down the stairs in my wheelchair for from me I highly recommend and if any of you can see this message thank you so much for your help much appreciated xx

My husband and I were here for lunch yesterday and I was so impressed. The food is delicious. The ambience is beautiful. The service is too good! ⭐ 10/10

When we entered the restaurant, we were hit by a blast of very loud music. Almost reminiscent of a bungra party! We asked if the noise could be turned down. The manager said that if he did that the atmosphere would be more like a fish market. After several attempts we were put into a corner. The waiters were very friendly and the food itself wasn't too bad. The portions were on the generous side. Just really a shame that the noise level was on the high side.

We have Always had takouts from lalas. And most have been good or OK. But the last two have been absolutely uneadible due to excessive spice no actuall flavour just spice and I'm use to hot curry but this was like liking a jar of chilli powder not good at all. Very disappointed. One bad curry you think OK just an off night. But two no way that's enough.

I recently ordered from this place, and I’m extremely disappointed. When the food arrived, it was cold, partially frozen, and had a really bad smell. I called the restaurant to request a replacement, but the person on the phone was rude and unhelpful. They told me to bring the food in, which is ridiculous since I ordered delivery because I was at work and couldn't go in person. They also mentioned they were too busy and said it wasn’t their concern. To make matters worse, they outright refused to replace the food. Unfortunately, I had to bin the entire order because it was not edible. Serving frozen, smelly food suggests they are using old ingredients, which is unacceptable. I’ll be reporting this to the Food Standards Agency and local health authorities. Avoid this place if you care about quality and service.

Usually a dine-in experience for us at LaLa’s - it’s the go-to for birthday meals and special occasions, however we recently realised the do takeout too so made a collection! Food wasn’t just as good as it is in the restaurant, but that’s to be expected. Would highly recommend

The most amazing curry and all the staff were lovely.

We visited lalas Huddersfield last night and there was mould in the water jugs so I reported to manager Ali who then stated we are “taking the piss” this manager also stated that “ I couldn’t afford to pay the bill” I had to call lalas Bradford so their manager could speak some sense into this fool. Bradford lalas were absolute brilliant in the situation but this place is a joke and incredibly unhygienic. Ali the manager here is also very patronising. He also stated not to give my girlfriends belongings back to her when she accidentally left them by the table when we left. He told his employee not to give it back to her. Not okay lalas we used to love it here and will not be returning.

First off the managers name is Ali, that is very significant in my review. If I could rate a 0 I would, first time I have been to Lalas and went for my graduation celebration, and we looked in the jug of water we had been drinking for the hour we had been there. THE JUG WAS MOULDY! Told the waiters there and they checked another jug which they proceeded to tell us personally was mouldy (none of the other jugs had been checked but the two that had were mouldy) we ask for the manager who came over was very rude told us we were taking the piss told us our behaviour is unacceptable as we didn’t accept £15 off when we were all starting to feel incredibly sick. As the manager told his colleagues and quite obviously staring at us and laughing. My boyfriend had to get hold of the head office to complain and they only took £9 further off, due to the outrageous comments and mould which we drank we had to get a hold of the head office again then with much hesitation and more rude comments they split the bill in half and told us not to come back. When they came over I proceeded to put cash down and he made comments that my boyfriend could not afford to pay when I walked away! It is outrageous that my graduation meal had to be ruined by an awful boss like Ali. The other staff were more than understanding but since we are not allowed back after they fed us mould and personally would not want to go to an establishment like that again I hope this is the last time this happens and no one else has to drink mould. He made us feel very uncomfortable And unsafe as I left one of my belongings at the table which he urged his staff not to give back to me (lucky the waiter ignored him) although he got shouted at for that nice gesture, Ali stood at the steps following us out as if we were the criminals in this scenario. Having experience as restaurant manager myself we were trying to be reasonable by not reporting them and giving them a chance to resurrect the situation, although after that treatment I will not allow this.

We dine at the restaurant quite often and the food is fabulous. However we got a takeaway and the meal was in edible due to too much pepper /spice I could not even taste the meat. Very disappointed.

Ordered a takeaway from LaLa’s as a walk-in; no delivery required or on-line website referral to pay, imagine my surprise when they added a “service charge”. When I asked the waiter what was that for he replied the till adds it on automatically!!

This place used to be absolutely perfect, the absolute best Indian restaurant I’ve ever had. I used to come here all the time and I even introduced my family from out of town to the restaurant and it became our staple place to celebrate every occasion because the food was spectacular, the atmosphere is wonderful and the staff were lovely. Now I have had 2 disappointing experiences that make me hesitant to come again as I can see there is a decline in quality and the treatment I received. Around Christmas, I came here with my mother and my family. My mother was running late but I thought this was no problem as there is a beautiful waiting area to wait in while she makes her way to the restaurant. We were sat there for a while admittedly but I ordered drinks to our waiting table and kept letting the staff know what my mother’s current ETA was. They would not stop pestering us as if they thought that we were only there to sit in the waiting area. A more senior member of staff was shouting at his staff and walking around very stressed that day but thankfully the loud music masked it a bit. Eventually, it was made clear that they either expected us to get seated at a table or leave the establishment so we chose to get seated. We got seated at a decent table and then suddenly the senior member of staff starts talking to his wait staff and gesturing to us (we can’t hear what was said) and suddenly the waiter came over and told us we weren’t able to sit there as there was a reservation and we needed to move to another seat. The restaurant was not very busy so this was a bit confusing but I said that’s fine and got up to go to our new table. It was the most terrible table in the restaurant! It was very tightly put by the rail around the staircase so we couldn’t even move our arms on our side of the table because there was no space and the table seemed very small and cramped. My mother then came in and we tried to enjoy our meal. When our food came, it barely fit on the table! Our toddler was seated mere inches away from sizzling hot plates and it was a battle to try to move things around so she couldn’t burn herself. I had never had this experience in my life at any restaurant, let alone Lala’s. The worst part: in the whole time that we were there, nobody was seated on the table we were moved from and all the perfectly fine tables around it were also completely free. I genuinely believe they looked at us and decided to give us the bad table because they thought we were time wasters. After going there many times a year for the last few years and having the staff know us and be so nice to us and our daughter especially, it was a massive shock to be treated like second class citizens just because we were in the waiting area for longer than they wanted. The next time I come in, it’s with my in-laws. They don’t live in the area but they always want to come here because I took them there a couple years ago and they fell in love! Unfortunately, the menu items have recently changed. Some of the food has gotten a new recipe and sadly I feel the quality has gotten worse. For example, the masala fish used to be a sizzler and it was absolutely delicious. Now, it is no longer cooked the same way and has been taken off the sizzler menu. For some reason, it is now much more bland and tastes like something I could get at any takeaway. It used to be something special and was my primary reason to go to Lala’s so I very likely will never come again for this reason and the experience I had late last year.

The Starters were really bad but the main Dish. was really nice and the nan bard was the worst I have ever eaten. It was undercooked .

Come here all the time and never disappointed! Great service, really nice food and very reasonably priced. Easily the best curry in Huddersfield.

We went to LaLa’s at around 9pm on Saturday evening, there was only a couple of tables in so very quiet! We ordered our food which came and looked lovely! However despite all the curries ordered being different they all tasted the same and despite being mild curries what was ordered they were all far too spicy and not edible! We sent them back and they came out again - the tikka masala tasted like a tin of chopped tomatoes! And the other tasted the exact same! Absolutely vile! If I could give 0 stars believe me I would! We stood up and left all the food and said it was awful we couldn’t eat it! And they cheekily asked us who was paying the bill!!! Absolutely no one because the food was disgusting and not eaten! - will never ever go back here again!

We went on Fri 31 May with a party of 10 ! The reception and wait time was spot on, lovely decor and a fantastic night, everyone enjoyed the food and we weren’t rushed and the price was just right. Thanks! See you again…

Garlic naan was basic, went cold and hard very quick! It’s not what you’d expect a garlic naan to be. Left with stomach ache afterwards and felt sick.

Me and my family visited on a Sunday evening popadoms ordered and served then starters 1 minute later then main course while eating starters which were taken away and brought back 10mins later cold this was the worst and most rushed Indian experience I have ever had and I won’t be returning So if you are wanting Indian food in Huddersfield do yourself a favour and go to nawaab or Gurkha sizler

We decided not to have any starters, but took off for three main courses and one of their hanging naan breads. The curries were very tasty, and the numb bread was freshly baked and crispy and soft in the centre. Can’t fall our service the lad serving us were very professional indeed

Food was ok I guess. However when I go for a meal with my wife I do not expect to be rushed. We were two of around 8 or 9 people in the restaurant at the time. I ask for the bill when I am good and ready. I don't expect it to be put on the table a minute or two after we have finished eating. To add insult to injury a waiter then came over with the card machine a few minutes later. Never coming back.

Food was delicious, just little things let them down, like not enough cutlery, napkins, water poured into wine glasses! But quickly got sorted when asked. Lovely atmosphere, very busy.

Called in the other week with no booking for a table of 5 quite late on a friday and wasn't an issue. The food was delicious, can't fault it at all much better than the batley restaurant. Highly recommend asking the waiter what they would have from the menu, that's what I did and was the best dish I've tasted in a lalas actually really in Huddersfield!

My chicken bhuna was a disappointment, firsty it didn't look like any bhuna I've had previously and it had no taste!

Had a late Christmas party with a group of 20 old friends, I'm not normally keen on Indian food but the food was delicious and the service great. We all had different starters and mains and everyone enjoyed what they had. Thinking of going back soon with a couple of friends we enjoyed it so much

came here a year ago and was a pleasure. polite staff and waiters with nice food however recently came and felt very uncomfortable and uneasy by a manager looking at me very unpleasantly. Definitely will not be returning as i was shocked.

The food tasted good, but the restaurant was so dark I could not read the menu without a torch! I could not see what I was eating. I could not see my friends!! I would not recommend it....too dark....poor atmosphere.....chaotic cutlery and table clearance.

The food was very good there was five in my family group and no complaints about any of the food. Nice family ambience.

Very tasty food i had meat samosas for starter, chicken tikka masala and pilau rice and the rose wine is lovely. Had an amazing time out with my cousin!!

Takeaway was not good. Lumpy rice, dry and hard garlic naan, dry chicken rogan Josh and only one poppadom!! Dining in has been lovely in the past so i was shocked.

Order aaloo tikki.. was hair in it.. then order mains.. dal was smelly which was told to us that the smell was of butter.. they changed the dal after bit argument. After that got hair again in the Paneer masala.. report to the manager who started argue.. did not agree that its their mistake.. Staff was nice but the manager was rude. Don't even know how to talk to the customers. Totally worthless...

The food was overall good.. the waiters were nice and friendly but the manager was rude and was being way too sarcastic. He was arguing a lot on normal stuff.

The staff and the atmosphere was nice but the behavior of the manager was very rude. I ordered Aloo tikki, hair in it and then again hair came in the Masala Paneer. When I complained it then the manager did the argument not to accept our mistake. It's 😲 shockable. Never visit again.

Food was good, my meat and spinach balti was very tasty. Lamb chops nothing more than bone and very chewy, not at all succulent. Seekh kebab was nice and service was good. Overall I enjoyed my meal.

Food is always decent from here and staff are normally nice. Honestly this time felt rushed and could tell the management was rushing the staff and also being rude: was seated then told to move into the worst spot next to the bathrooms. Honestly rude management. No room on the tables and lack of consideration for the customer. Manager whistles at the staff and treats them like trash clearly. Worst staff management I have probs seen and felt bad for staff who cared. Normally okay but hope this changes.

In Huddersfield for a night I literally stumbled across Lala’s when actually looking for Asian food. Seekh kebab (two, good sized with an enjoyable sizzling onion accompaniment) were excellent and some of the best I’ve had recently. I then had Haandi Gosht, with a side of Aloo Chilli Paneer. No rice but a portion of chapatis (two per portion )- this was good as outside Yorkshire you rarely get chapatis as thin and as reasonably priced and as someone who likes to eat with bread, this was good. The best you get elsewhere is in truth, tava roti. Now I was ‘all set’. The lamb/mutton was dense, thickly sauced and unctuous with good bold flavour and a nice chilli kick. Veg, too, brilliant. It appeared to be very traditionally seasoned food, deliciously ‘desi’. Well done Lala’s, that’s what I call Pakistani (“Indian”) food, the sort I come across only every two or three years. Thank you.

I'd been to Lala's in Pudsey and it was sublime so was delighted to find that the service, ambience, food quality and presentation were equally amazing here in Huddersfield. We were warmly welcomed and presented with our popadoms, pickle tray and bottle of red promptly. For mains, I had achari chicken with steamed rice and my partner had Mr Lala which was a delicious, rich tomatoey, garlicky dish with chicken, beef and Keema. He had keema rice and we also had chapattis, salad bowl and raita. The portion sizes were so generous with so much chicken/meats in both dishes. the food absolutely oozed flavour and mine was served hot exactly as requested. The keema rice was the best I'd ever tasted - it was not greasy and there was loads of deliciously flavoured and spiced keema in there. The raita with mint, tomato and cucumber was a lovely compliment to both dishes. And for all of that, the bill came to £58! Absolute bargain for that level of quality and portion size and we had to request a doggy bag to take home the leftovers! We shall absolutely be back - fantastic credit to Huddersfield and lovely to taste more authentic food that is not swimming in oil! 10 out of 10 from us! And we are homestyle traditional no base curry fanatics so hopefully that lends weight to our fantastic review :-). Really wish we had photos of the food but we were so busy enjoying it that we completely forgot which is not like us!!

Good selection of dishes in generous portions. The naan breads are especially large, so be careful not to order too many. I'm lowering my review from 5 to 3 stars because there's absolutely no point in booking here. They absolutely will treat you the same as a walk-in so if it's busy, be prepared to wait 30+ minutes whether you book or not.

We went on a Monday evening for my daughters birthday. We got seated straight away, the wait staff were attentive and the food came out quickly. Reasonably priced too!!

The staff are really nice and very efficient. There is a good selection of dishes and the food is excellent and plentiful. The only thing is that we felt a bit rushed - it would have been nice to have a few minutes between courses - and we were not offered desserts before the bill was presented. Overall the prices were reasonable, we really enjoyed the meal and we would go back.

Essen war sehr gut, Service war aufmerksam. Nur zwei Dinge haben etwas gestört. Zu einem die Karte war sehr klein geschrieben was mich zum zweiten Problem bringt das die Beleuchtung etwas dunkel war so das man die Karte nicht lesen konnte.

The food is outdated. Being Indian, I would not and CANNOT call what I ate even came to close to an Indian...the spice mix was all wrong and what were they thinking with the Oil. The chef cannot be from India. Impossible!! The only good thing - it was cheap and wasn't upset that I paid a lot for the food.

Service was impeccable. Food was delicious. I recommend a trip if you enjoy Indian food. Order a naan bread they are massive.
