Lakeview Cafe in Bracknell Forest

Absolutely loved the experience. Large portions which is rare for this area and very friendly staff who were very charming to my kids. We had the full English which was great ‘the sausage could have been better’ but it was made up by the rest of the breakfast being so good. Loved the tea in the tea pot, and all the crockery around has the place feeling cosy. 10 out of 10 for us as a family

I like to eat here. The portions are massive! Even a sandwich is served with a huge salad. Great value and excellent quality. The interior is cramped, but this all adds to the enjoyment and its character. And on a nice day, there is outside seating. Lots of parking. Nice people. See you again soon.

We loved this quirky cafe, it is unique, the prices are good, it is good wholesome food. Can sit out in the sun overlooking the beautiful lakes and countryside.

We were pleasantly surprised at the lovely atmosphere of old worldy comfort and the brilliant menu. Also the prices they charge are so reasonable they could easily charge more!

We had read about this cafe so thought we'd check it out. Very disappointed. First off, the name is a bit misleading as, although there is a lake, there wasn't much of a view of it. The car park is a bit rough and uneven. We tried a slice of lemon drizzle cake and 2 lattes, and neither was nice. One of the worst cakes we've had, and the lattes were so tasteless and far too sweet. An experience we won't be trying again.

The reviews we had read were really good, hence why we visited. No welcome on arrival and had to ask how we ordered. In fact, we stood there for a few minutes, not knowing what to do and before anyone spoke to us. Inside, it was cluttered with some unclean table cloths. Some may call it quirky! I wish I had sat outside where the tables were generally clear. The staff seemed more interested in guests that were obviously regulars rather than potential new customers. We ordered breakfasts and cappuccinos, the coffee which was, I can only assume, a cheap sachet as was over sweet and very unpleasant. The breakfast, when received was hot and ok but needs to be on a bigger plate. Bacon was nice but sausages let it down. Toast undercooked and slightly soggy. On paying, I was ignored completely by two staff and then advised by the third member that they did not take card for payment. We did not have any cash so they asked to make a payment to a bank account with a private name. In this day and age this is unacceptable. I was told that the fact they did not take cash was stated on their website. There is not a website that i could find and nothing stated on their Facebook page. I had to then show the screen from my bank account that confirmed I had paid, which I duly did and they confirmed. We then left to have the member of staff running after us asking for our name which i refused to give, as they had already confirmed payment had been made. This must be contravening GDPR regulations. Would we visit again? Unfortunately, not which is a shame.

Absolutely amazing. Very unique cafe. Had the full breakfast at a cost of £12. Was so worth every penny. Came with 2 eggs bacon sausages. Hash brown beans fried bread 2 slices of toast tea or coffee. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Only found this lovely little cafe by chance, but so pleased we did. The staff were warm and friendly, cooking an exceptional full english and an omlette. The character of the dining room is quirky, we loved looking at the decor. A hidden gem in many ways.

what a gem! We were staying in the area for a few days. Popped in on the Friday to book for lunch on the following Monday with family. Such a welcome. Went away with cake that visit. Delicious - home made. Then went for breakfast on the Sunday morning - excellent. Very busy and the ladies work non-stop. Lunch on the Monday was super - such a choice of home cooked meals at very good price and the most amazingly generous helpings of pudding (and custard) afterwards!!! Dogs are welcome. Eclectic decor - love all the different china and cruet sets and various teapots. Highly recommend. Thank you, ladies, for your welcome and super food.

This cafe/restaurant was amazing - great food, good value and fantastic staff. They pulled out all the stops at the last minute for a 90-year-old lady who had been disappointed by a last minute cancellation at Windsor Theatre. There were balloons and banners and candles. She loved it and is telling all her friends about it, as is the elderly gentleman who accompanied us. The food portions were delicious and enormous. We had a lovely time in pleasant surroundings with very friendly and helpful staff. We will not hesitate to return and to recommend it to everyone. Thank you to everyone there who made our day after disappointing news.

A delightful little place tucked away between Ascot and Cranbourne. Came here for a coffee stop during a club cycle ride and was immediately impressed by the lovely location, coffee, cakes, and friendly staff. So mu ch so that I brought the wife out for lunch the following day. And a repeat performance... the breakfast baguette with sausages, bacon and egg had me kncoked out for a six. My wife loved her jacket potato with tuna & and chedder, and the sticky toffee pudding was similarly impressive. I wish there were more places like Lake View everywhere. A charming little place that I will now keep coming back to!

On route to Legoland Windsor, we found this little place. It was practically perfect in every way. The creamiest porridge I’ve ever had, great sausage bap and bacon roll and coffee of dreams. All freshly cooked with care. Super friendly.

First time finding Lake View, which has such a charming atmosphere. Greeted by thr friendliest ladies who rub the cafe, who were so welcoming and couldnt enough for my wife and I. Made us feel so at home and welcomed. Food ordered was 1 small and 1 large breakfast. This included toast and tea or coffee. Quality ingredients and eggs cooked to perfection. Beautiful view of the fishing lakes and left full and feeling very relaxed. Highly recommended and we will be back

We visited this cafe after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, and were not disappointed. I’d pre-booked a table for lunch and had mentioned it was our son’s 8th birthday. When we arrived the lovely ladies had kindly decorated the table with banners, balloons and birthday napkins. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was not only huge, but was absolutely delicious. My husband had the lasagne special with a side of sauté potatoes; both of which he scored 10/10. Having also enquired on booking as to whether the cafe offers pancakes (being our son’s favourite treat), which are not normally on the menu, the staff had sorted it so they were able to cook some pancakes especially for our son. Service was very friendly and we did not have to wait long for the wonderful food. We will definitely be back!

A little out of our way but we thought that we’d give it a try. What could be better than a long relaxing breakfast, freshly cooked while gazing over the lake. The team here know how to spoil their guests, with a clear focus on cooking everything fresh. Donna, the chef, even made my wife’s eggs exactly how she likes them. Nothing is too much trouble for the team at this caff. That is what it is, a true caff of outstanding quality. We’re coming back and soon, hope to see you there.

I was not aware of this cafe, although my partner has been recently with his daughter and granddaughter and said we must try it. We popped in after a physio appointment at Heatherwood and although it was quite late, the two ladies were most welcoming and didn’t make us feel at all that we needed to hurry, which we liked. The decor is quirky and colourful, the choice of cakes and tray bakes was amazing, and the food on offer looked great (as did the prices). We had tea (in proper, pretty cups!) and I had a huge slice of delicious, light chocolate sponge cake, and my partner had a slab of fruitcake- thumbs up! Although the weather was foul, the view of the lake from the cafe was lovely and there is a huge car park. We will be back - thank you ladies.

Situated adjacent to a fishing lake, this lovely cafe exudes the sort of olde world charm from the 1940s/1950s. Run by two ladies, they serve up a wide range of tasty (and generously portioned) fayre to suit all palates. Tea comes in floral teapots, cups and saucers. Nice little ramekins of jam and marmalade automatically accompany the toast. It's the sort of place where my granny, but would equally meet a client there.I recommend this place very much.

We visited this cafe on a Friday for breakfast. It was very good. Lovely pot of fresh coffee, good cooked breakfast with both fresh brown and white toast, jam and marmalade. Didn't realise until after we had left that we had been overcharged. Still, felt it was still good value. As we enjoyed the meal we decided to go back again on the Saturday again for breakfast. BIG MISTAKE. We had to wait nearly one and a half hours. We asked the waitress how much longer we were going to have to wait and were told the food comes out when it is ready. Not very helpful. We were told the coffee was on its way. We were on the verge of leaving when the coffee arrived 10 minutes later. A mug of instant (not very good) coffee. A little while after the toast arrived, white sliced bread followed soon after by the cooked breakfast. Bacon was like leather, egg almost cooked. After waiting this long didn't want to send it back as couldn't waste any more of our day waiting for it to be re-cooked. Very disappointing. No apology for the long wait. Had we been told when we ordered our food that there would be such a long wait we would have found somewhere else. Unfortunately on our Friday experience we would have recommended this place but would now say avoid at all cost unless you haven't anything better to do than wait for food.

The place for our usual monthly MG meet up had become too crowded and you have to wait 30mins for the food. Left there and came here, great full English with lashing of tea and toast including a large pot of tea and homemade marmalade and jam. All for £7 which is really good. Lots of homemade cakes and flapjacks to choose from and run by some very nice ladies. So this will now be our monthly meet up place.

Sunday morning we fancied a nice breakfast out which we rarely do and based on the reviews we had high expectations of Lakeview Cafe and were really looking forward to it! We arrived and ordered two full English breakfasts and two teas, which came to £14. We sat outside, and although the table could have done with a wipe over, we were looking at a lovely view of the lakes! We had a short wait before our toast and butter arrived. Five minutes later our breakfast arrived and lastly our teas. I would have preferred my tea to have come out first as it was stewed once I’d finished eating but that’s my personal preference. The things that really let it down for both of us were poor quality sausages, hard greasy fried bread and a small curly hair! This put me off eating anymore. If the young waitress had asked me how my breakfast was when she collected our plates, I would have mentioned the hair, but she didn’t. This place has so much potential to be great because the peaceful view is lovely, the older lady serving was very polite and friendly, and the service from the young waitress was quick, but food quality can be improved with a decent meaty sausage and exchange the fried bread with toast.

Came here for a father’s day brunch, can’t believe how lovely it was! Beautiful setting, lovely staff and so cheap. Would recommend to everyone, hidden gem!

Took a friend for a 75th Birthday meal .4 us in total.

We popped in for a breakfast and we welcomed as though we were old friends. Decor is nice and clean with a wood burner to keep off the cold when it sets in. A huge pot of tea accompanied our breakfasts which filled us up. Very reasonably priced and looking out over some of the fishing lakes was relaxing. Outside tables available for those hot days too.

Popped in with a fisherman friend to see if what he said was correct. We ordered two bacon rolls, one sausage roll and three cups of coffee.

Firstly the positives nice spot overlooking the fisheries & friendly staff.

The cafe is small and although the ladies are all very nice, it didn't perform very well during my visit. The cafe was packed on Saturday and that may have been the problem. The counter is so cluttered with old teapots, that there is only room for 1 person at time to order and pay so that a queue quickly builds up.

Such a sweet little cafe! It looks like nothing from the outside but is just adorable when you get in! There are frilly cushions, checkered table cloths, delicate China, a log burner for chilly days and a wholesome menu as well as a good fry-up.

Everything was absolutely perfect, we went as a group with one of us being a vegan. The staff had a few options for her and were very accommodating. The rest of us had a variety of different dishes including the specials that were all freshly made.

This place is a hidden gem. We went there after visiting a nearby business and thought it was great. The variety of china, ornaments and fishing related stories is very individual and the food portions are generous, tasty and good value.

This was birthday-breakfast-on-tour as we made our way to Legoland. Highly recommended, as the food was great, the service excellent and very friendly, and the setting is just great.

Well we have passed the sign for years. Today we decided to call in. What a wonderful surprise. When you eventually reach the cafe it is such a surprise. Large car park. Inside it is an oasis of gingham cakes and crockery. There are pretty gingham covered tables outside which look out over fishing lakes. Varied cafe menu but the lovely ladies today were cooking a lot of yummy looking full breakfasts. The array of cakes is fantastic and there had to be at least twenty different options. Tea and coffee were served in teapots with cups and saucers.

This is a fascinating place because, first up, you need to spot the sign for the turn off North Street and then you need to believe you are in the right place.

Found it quite by accident last year but if you want good, freshly cooked food at amazing prices, in a setting of a traditional no airs and graces style cafe with bone china and clothed tables and fresh flowers, overlooking fishing lakes, then this is the place to go. Well done to the ladies that run it. Visit often, especially for coffee and cake, just delightful.

Been here over 10 times now. This is a cross between a traditional café serving a full English, a place serving pub style lunches and an old fashioned tea room! It excels at all three. Parking is vast and the best views imaginable. Prices are extremely fair and the quantity and quality of food is a nice surprise. Try one of their salads for lunch, but make sure you have plenty of time! From local business men, builders and the WI It is used by all in the local area. In the summer the patio doors are open and you can eat on the open deck whilst in the winter the traditional lob burner keeps everybody warm. Well worth a visit.
