We booked a table however on arrival two members of staff kept apologising that they were fully booked instead of asking us if we had booked. After explaining we had a table booked we were sat at a table that hadn't been cleaned from the last customer. A red rose was on the table and whipped away before we took our seats. The lunch was poor quality and poor value. Tiny amount of salad with no dressing. At least we were offered salt and pepper! The Tea was excellent.

Visited Beatons quite a few times now and are always treated the same, friendly and always welcoming. Missed popping in during lockdown, but have now been back a few times since and they have plenty of room between tables and all staff wear masks, so again feel comfortable, worth a visit.

Went to Beatons in Crowthorne today for Earl Grey tea, milkshakes and cake. They are just lovely - it took us a while to choose which cakes but the chocolate and peppermint tea cake was devoured in seconds and the lemon cake was beautiful and moist. My daughter told Paul the milkshake was ‘awesome’ but my son was too busy with his head in his, drinking it all up, to talk. In a world of Covid 19, we felt safe too - far better than in some other places!! All the right arrangements were in place and we able to just enjoy our time there. Thank you Paul and your team. We will be back!

Bright airy tearooms offering an excellent selection of quality teas. These are also available to purchase in a branded tin. Good selection of light meals and the cakes on display were very tempting. Friendly, helpful staff.Love the colourful crockery. The owners has done the post covid easement of lockdown well. Will certainly return. Much better than the chains.

I love beatons as it is a tea shop as well as a bookstore. But it does have its flaws. I wouldn’t recommend it for family who have toddlers or little children as there are many cakes and teas on display which could get knocked. My personal favourites are their flapjacks and milkshakes. The food and quality of the teas (my favourite is the peppermint tea) is exceptional although the bill is quite pricey.

I booked for a family birthday, as a treat. I went in in person to book and agreed that we would have the afternoon tea menu, as opposed to the lunch menu. When we came to order we were told that the HIGH tea and ELEGANT tea, both on the afternoon tea menu, had to be pre-ordered. I was offered a menu but want told that certain items on that menu had to be pre-ordered. To make matters more annoying we managed to order almost all the items from the ELEGANT tea separately, which, obviously was a more expensive way of doing it. What we did have was good quality and tasty but the start of the experience coloured the whole celebration. The place isn’t massively child-friendly in my opinion. This is probably not somewhere we will visit again, which is a shame as it was recommended to me by a friend.

We popped in here for a sandwich for lunch and were pleasantly surprised about their tea selection. This is their USP, they have 20+ teas to choose from and are all very nice, very well presented and you get a reasonable sized pot for everyone but then they are £3 each. Party of 4 for breakfast on a Sunday. Not our usual place to eat or even our usual town to eat in but came recommended on Trip Advisor and it was central to where we were all travelling from. Something for everyone including the vegetarian in our party. Lovely, prompt service. Only downside was that it didn't open until 10.00am but we were still some of the first clients there. Loved that a troop of Sandhurst cadets were also there 'suited & booted' for their breakfast too.

A blast from the past! How to brew a nice cup of tea..properly! A great selection of sandwiches or cakes to go with your teas of choice...and there is a HUGE choice available. The novelty of having your pot of tea delivered with an ‘egg-timer’ and being soundly advised NOT to pour your tea until all of the sand has run through the timer! ... an dit REALLY DOES make a difference!

Had been recommended to this Tea Room, and we were not disappointed. Well worth a visit to Crowthorne to sample these delightfully old fashioned standards in the best possible way - home made cakes & scones, china tea cups/teapot ( all monogrammed!) - choice of tealeaves to be infused, cake recipes from the owners family, attention to detail a joy, and service impeccable by the owner - books in the corner if you want a quiet cuppa and a read, and so clean and relaxing. We will go back. . Wish we had a Beatons near us in Camberley - Beatons & service with a smile lightens up the day.. Well done the owner.

Once ordered, coffee and teas were delivered promptly followed by the breakfast orders which were hot, attractively presented and tasty to eat. We popped in this morning for a coffee, this was our first time. The sign on the door said closed but it looked like they were open so we walken in anyway. We were met by one of the staff wich told us we were lucky if we found a seat, and to try at the back. There were a couple of tables which had not been cleared, clearly they were rushed off their feef and not enough staff. After a long wait the waitress took our order of coffee and my husband order a bagel which he was told may take a while. The two waitresses working at the front did their best, on a Sunday mornig they clearly needed more staff. There seemed to be a long wait for food and we really thought they had forgotten our bagel, and having just about finished our coffee, the bagel arrived. They did apologise for the wait. It seemed like the staff was apologising to most people for different things during the time we sat there. We were also also overcharged for what we had but did not realise till we got home. The toilets could have done with a good clean too.

We had tea and scones for lunch. Our scones were hard, hadn’t risen well and were so dry we weren’t sure if they were stale. Even though they took 2 scones off the bill it still cost £12 for a pot of tea, a soda and 2 scones. Although the service was good we won’t return. I’ve never actually had a bad scone and the fact they cost £3.80 for 2 you would hope they would use some quality control in future. The tea (a pot of decaf) was fine but £6 for a pot of tea was incredibly expensive. I’ll stick with where we normally go in future as although a little further away is far nicer in quality of food, prices and decor.

Visited twice with my mum - first for a light lunch, then breakfast. It's quite nice, and the food is fine (nothing special, but tasty enough and quite a good selection). However, it is quite expensive for what you get - I think I was charged £7 for rarebit this morning, which is, essentially, cheese on toast. I'm also not impressed with the price of hot drinks - £3 and above for tea and coffee is extortionate in my opinion. My mum and I shared a pot of tea between us and were charged £6 for the privilege! I won't be rushing back although it's pleasant enough.

The first time I went to Beatons I wasn't that impressed. A bit expensive and felt the choice was limited. I didn't even like the rather fake charm of the place. Well I am not one of those who say 'avoid this place' because I always acknowledge that these things can be a one off and also that a place should have the chance to put things right. After all TripAdvisor is for the establishment as well, to encourage improvement. etc. Well I am happy to report that, although not my favourite place in Crowthorne, it is improving and is incredibly popular, so the public have spoken. It's growing on me!

I have come home after having lunch here today completely shocked. It is a fairly expensive place but we were fine with that. We ordered my 18month old niece a cheese sandwich. Out came two very thin slices of bread with grated cheese. When the bill arrived we were charged £5.00. I asked to speak to the manager who basically said that they do not offer a children's menu as their customers do not want children in there. How awkward we felt. Complete discrimination in this day and age and totally not acceptable in a village full of families. The manager continued to argue with us obviously not worried about his reputation. He also commented that we were obviously angry and wanted to take it out on him. How unprofessional and totally not the case. We under no circumstances will be recommending this place or returning ourselves. I honestly have never experienced such judgemental, discriminatory and opinionated customer service. I would suggest removing the photo of a child on the description of your establishment above....

My partner and I visited this little tearoom for breakfast today and were quite excited when we arrived. There was a peaceful atmosphere (although it was very empty so this might be why) with low level music gently playing. The staff were friendly and the decor looked nice too.

In my view Beatons represents poor value for money. Cappuccinos are £3.00 each for an average size cup. Mushrooms on toast are £5.25 - only served with 1 piece of toast about 6 mushrooms and a tiny side salad.

Quirky place, that looks nice. So e nice food options. They offer a catering service and I've heard great things. You are always treated well. And they look out for their locals and friends ...

Was looking for some coffee and lunch, I'm so glad we walked in here such a lovely place. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by such a friendly and welcoming lady. The greek toastie was exactly what I needed, will definitely be back for more.

My favourite coffee shop to visit, the hot chocolates are AMAZING. I like the options of food but there isn't a huge amount of options if you didn't like it. There are lots of cakes and snacks though. Drinks are always really good. My only issue is when waiting for food and drinks to be prepared it can get very cramped and confusing, and it can be loud due to the machines so it's hard to hear what's yours. This is mainly an issue on busier days. If you're at a table and getting your food delivered to the table it's much nicer and is usually delivered very quickly.
