Have been a few times now and the food is amazing, I have never had anything bad yet. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. They have loads of space to sit and enjoy you food. The little shop they have has a lot of lovely stuff for sale. Will Defo be back and Defo recommend.

Where do you want me to start? The music was fabulous. The queues were never ending. There were teenagers on the bar and the barbecue. It took hours. I keep giving you a chance and I really regret it.

Had a lovely lunch after a beautiful walk at Scorton Lakes. Lots going on. Activities for young children, beautiful garden centre and very dog friendly. Something for all the family. Service was excellent, staff were more than helpful and the menu was impressive. Food was tasty and fairly priced. Would recommend a visit to the lake walk and the cafe

The new owners have done an amazing job with renovating and expanding the business, the only let down is how long it takes for service, my partner queued for 30 minutes and then we had to wait another 45 minutes for the food to come. I would suggest table service inside to prevent the long queue building up. Unfortunately my partners burger was also not fully cooked, we noticed before his last bite that the meat was undercooked.

The food was actually okay but the service was so uncomfortably bad. The young woman behind the counter (Sunday) wouldn’t even talk when serving, she seemed to be sulking. When she brought meals to the table she just threw them down in front of us, it was like we were an inconvenience to be there. This place has always been so friendly and warm to visit, I really don’t understand why they’re employing people like this? I love the investment that has gone into the outdoor play area and used to tell loads of people to visit, now I would be so embarrassed if family or a friend received the service we did on Sunday. Please sort it out. You go out to a cafe for the ease of not having to do it yourself, when it feels like more hard work you know there’s something wrong.

Heard good reviews about this place so thought I would give it a try, had corn beef pie but was a shock when I was charged over £12, saying that it was nice but about 15 chips and a small portion of peas thought it could have been better.

I took my Granddaughter today for a hot chocolate and cake. We both had the chocolate orange cake - it was the best ever cake we have both tasted - it was absolutory fantastic! I found out that Emily bakes the cakes there - Emily you are a superb cake baker. We will be back!! Thank you for making our afternoon perfect.

What a gem of a place - the food was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. Watching Darragh dancing in the kitchen was an unexpected treat but made the whole experience even better. The only thing I would change is thicker / chunkier bread for sarnies and soup. Defo worth a visit 😀

Called here Sunday lunch time for a drink and sandwich. Our rather expensive ham sandwich was made with dry bread all the accompanying salad was limp and tinged with brown edges and the coleslaw stale and inedible. We ate the dry bread sandwich as we were hungry but left all the salad . Another thing was I ordered a cappuccino which would have been £3.75 but if you paid £4 you got 2 shortbread biscuits however when it arrived it came with 5 tiny penny sized choc chip cookies- could only eat one as they were dry as sticks. My wife's cup of tea was ok though. Have actually been here earlier this year and though wasn't outstanding for the price was ok- but will certainly never come again. The Little Green Frog Garden centre opposite is brilliant and we'll worth a visit.

Don’t bother. Unless you want a quick coffee. The home baking looked very average. I could not eat my “”Brie & Veg” quiche - no taste of cheese and it contained big lumps of pumpkin and parsnip veg. It was pretty awful. I rarely complain but that quiche really was poor. My husbands BLT was fine. Pleasant enough service. Clean toilets. We were disappointed overall. The food just wasn’t up to standard.

Went for a nice lunch with family, daughters ordered a kids mac and cheese when it came it was just cheesy pasta and looked very unappetising. One of their plates wasn’t clean and both left feeling sick. I got a sandwich which came with poor supermarket bread with more mayo than filling! The lady who served us was unhappy and came across rude. However junior staff were very accommodating. High price for low quality food.

The extensive menu looked impressive. Locally sourced foods. Lakeside Country Cafe and Green Frog Garden Shop, near Ellerton - not far off the main road from Richmond, North Yorkshire. Lots to do if you have children with you that enjoy inflatables, at extra cost etc. The extensive menu looked impressive and advertised locally produced fare. I ordered and paid for the Roast Beef sandwich in toasted chipatta with side salad, and a coffee, £11 +. If I had seen it first I would have gone elsewhere! The thinest small slice of beef I have ever been served arrived in thin supermarket bread - and so slimy with already generously spread horseradish sauce inside it flopped and slipped apart when picked up! There was no taste of beef and the empty area of the sandwich was a third. Just so upsetting to be treated like that. Why could they not have said the item was sold out, "please choose something else"? Where else would the lack of filling be disguised by copious amounts of already added horseradish?

Visited this cafe many times and I have always found the food nice. I ordered a rarebit, advertised as a ciabatta rarebit with salad, coleslaw and chutney- priced at £12.95. What I actually got was a small breakfast muffin with melted cheese, and I know they hadn’t run out of ciabatta because I could see the orders coming out after I received mine. This is a really high price point for what I got and not as advertised. This isn’t a one off as it’s happened before. Change your menu please, as this isn’t being honest. My husband ordered a starter (ciabatta, black pudding, cheese, salad, coleslaw and chutney) which was the same size and £5 cheaper. I didn’t complain because I was served (efficiently) by children and didn’t see anybody who appeared to be in charge. Im reluctant to give a poor review as this this business has really tidied the place up and it could be so great.

Visited Ellerton Lakes Cafe late July with our 2 year old granddaughter. Read about the new park and things to do for children. We thought lunch out and play on park for her. The park said 4-14 year olds and £6.95 there was only slides she could go on and no small swings. The young staff wanted to charge me for her to sit in a swinging net. No thank you. I asked for a child’s sandwich box and was told we only do hot children’s meal. Ok Mac and Cheese sorry none left at 12.30. She does not eat nuggets and sausages. So nothing for her to eat. If you advertise a child’s play area then surely you should do a healthy option fruit sandwich yogurts drink. My husband had a cheese scone said spot the cheese as none in it, only on top and very hard. My scone was hard and could not eat it as really not nice. Sorry but £4.95 for cream scone is too expensive when not nice to eat. No lake to view either so not a lakeside cafe as advertised poor experience .

We changed our plans to come here for the afternoon as it advertised a magic show/school, with magic tricks and juggling etc. it also advised “book early as tables are limited”. It was all hype. We booked a table for 5 people at 1pm. We turned up and our table wasn’t reserved, but it didn’t matter as the place was dead! Definitely not limited spaces. Also, from when we arrived at 1pm until we left at 2.30pm there was no magician. False advertising and a let down. Having said all that, it’s a pleasant little cafe with a nice playground for kids. If you come here for that then it’s worth it, just don’t believe the nonsense on their social media. Even the name is a bit misleading- it IS a lakeside cafe, but don’t expect to be able to see the lake at all!

Sorry but it was chaos, messy, disorganised, expensive, took ages to get served and the assistants all wearing huge false nails and loose hair whilst handling food.

We came across this place while out walking on a Thursday afternoon. The café itself was quite busy. The young staff were very polite, pleasant and helpful and 'clean' looking! IE: Not thick of make-up, false bits piecing's. The food was good. My only complaint is the coffee cups were a bit too small and the flooring needs looking at. The café itself was nice and clean and tables were cleaned as soon as they were empty. Will definitely be going back. I was relived that there wasn't a dog insight! Fed up with getting dog hairs in my food these days.

Saw signs on road so called in. A strange place with a bike shop attached in a huge building which looked new. The place was busy with a large table placed in a very inconsiderate position at the entrance to the cafe which people had to squeeze past going in and out. The menu was not suitable for me so we just had a quick drink, which was refreshing and served by polite staff.

A name that is a tongue-in-cheek reference to an outstanding restaurant could suggest irony. However, the food here is really good! Speak to the chef, go with his recommendations and the love your meal is prepared with will ensure your delight.
