Had a wonderful cream tea for two. Staff absolutely lovely and very helpful. Will definitely come again, maybe to try a different item from the menu!

Love it here, the breakfast is the best ever and the cakes are just out of this world!

We've met at the Lakeside Cafe for breakfast several times now and it's always been super: lovely welcome, great food and relaxed atmosphere. And it's dog-friendly too! I really must go back later in the day to try the cakes - they all look delicious! Veronique and her super team are stars, plus there's plenty of parking too. I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet - you're in for a treat!

Lovely cafe with great staff, Victoria is always helpful and smiley. Food was amazing as always, we had croque madame, loaded tater tots with truffle and garlic sauce with bacon... so yummy! Lovely spot for a nice walk, would definitely recommend. We brought our 3 month son with us and definitely a baby and family friendly place for a nice bit of food. Cakes are always amazing too!

Sweet cafe with lovely food. It was always a nice place to visit but I'm loving the new menu - I enjoyed the Buddha Bowl, which was tasty and healthy but very filling, and my little ones (aged 8 and 2) loved the kids' breakfast and lunchbox. Friendly staff and good service too. Makes for a good day out with a trip on the miniature railway and a walk around the country park too!

Nice and clean, friendly staff. Coffee though is best avoided . Could hardly taste anything but milk in my cappuccino.

Had my daughters baby shower with an afternoon tea at this cute little cafe, the room was a perfectly quaint room and just what we wanted for a small gathering, the staff were very attentive and the food was beautiful!!

Went in today for the Christmas afternoon tea and it was lovely! The best turkey I've ever eaten, extremely tender and tasty. All the food was great, and a wonderful variety. The staff were very pleasant, and ensured our favourite type of tea was available after we rang to check. They accommodated 3 dogs and a baby too. Overall, a brilliant experience.

Highly recommend this lovely little place. The manager Veronique and her staff are amazing and always give us such welcoming and wonderful service. The food is always fantastic! My wife and I are vegan, they always go above and beyond to make sure we have choices in here. Today we had the ‘Holly Jolly Veggie’ toasted sandwich from the festive specials and it was soooooo delicious! They have a really great selection of cakes for vegans too, today there were 10 different cake options for vegans which hardly ever happens anywhere else! Lots of gluten free too as well as normal cakes. Can’t wait to come again already! Thank you Lakeside Cafe xxx

We enjoyed an excellent lunch with our son and 3 grandchildren at the weekend. Prompt friendly service despite it being quite busy. We ate from the Christmas specials board and then shared some of the delicious cakes that are on display- wonderful choice. Well done everyone for a small venue it was very enjoyable.

This is a lovely little cafe on lakeside, right by the little train station (trains are weekends only). Dogs welcome, food and cakes and staff are great. The lake is beautiful (dogs only allowed off lead in certain fields) ducks and other wild life to spot, a little nature pond. What’s not to love? The coffee!! It’s one of the ‘press a button machines’, rather than a proper coffee shop press. It’s SUCH a shame because it really doesn’t fit in with everything else about this place being high quality. Please guys, get with the times and upgrade your coffee machine! If you do I will amend my rating to 5 stars!

Fantastic little gem of a place! Good quality delicious food at a very good price, great selection of choices with gluten free & vegan well catered for, warm & friendly staff, dogs & kids made very welcome & catered for too. A lovely atmosphere & we will definitely be returning again after having our first visit here for vegetarian breakfast today! 😊

I am updating my review. We went today, i was nervous it might be a mistake, but the difference was like night and day. The staff were lovely, so warm and welcoming. The food was brilliant, perfectly cooked and great quality. I'm leaving my earlier review for context as to how much it was improved today. Food is overpriced and not very good, ordered the big breakfast and it was sooooooo greasy (swimming in oil), but not as greasy as the tables, which remained uncleaned and full of dirty dishes for our entire visit, with some customers even having their orders brought to their table and the dishes from previous customers left on the table! All this while the FOUR staff stood chatting and drinking soft drinks at the counter. Also, for some reason, the toilets are no longer available, so it's really unlikely we'll eat here ever again.

We had an absolutely fabulous Halloween afternoon tea here. The staff were lovely, especially with the kids (5 and 3) making them feel welcomed and special. The food was delicious. Both the adult tower and kid platters were thoughtfully presented, with themed sandwiches and cakes. Everything you could want at an afternoon tea, I thought it was great value for money. I’d highly recommend the lakeside cafe, we had a fab experience and are looking forward to returning.

Very enjoyable visit today - having not visited in years I was really happy to have a very cosy time. The cafe had a lovely atmosphere, lots of families, baked goods and delicious brunch options. Thank you team!

Me and my friend absolutely love this café. The hot chocolates are so good, especially the autumnal one that I got today. The staff are lovely, particularly Victoria who goes to extra length to make customers feel welcome. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks amazing, and there lots of gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options available. Would definitely recommend 🩷

The best cakes in Hampshire ! Wonderful cafe for breakfast or lunch but the star of the show is the cakes. Kudos to the baker. Amazing work. Had Pumpkin Pie that was better than ones I have had in the USA. Wife had an amazing spiced pear cake. Eat in or takeaway. Lots of free parking to also enjoy a walk around the lake.

This is a little gem that we discovered visiting Southampton University. We had coronation chicken sandwiches for lunch which were delicious - chunky wholemeal bread with generous amounts of nicely curried chicken. We then went for a walk and returned for teas, coffee and cakes. OK, so this is gormet, chin stroking coffee, but it's nice and the cakes were all great. Nice, family style hospitality too.

We even had a trip on the little railway afterwards which was a bonus. Brilliant, highly recommended.

Lakeside cafe just recently made my sisters 30th birthday cake . A stunning chocolate coconut ( bounty inspired ) cake . Not only was the cake absolutely beautiful and so detailed , the taste was incredible melted in your mouth . We were so impressed that we definitely will be using them again. We already love coming to the Cafe for coffee and breakfast but now will be ordering more cakes for celebrations .

Popped in for the 1st time with the family. Not sure what to expect as the outside looked like an old shack - so visions of scabby cheese sarnies and naff coffee sprang to mind. Couldn’t have been more surprised - the food was better than a lot of pub food. Had the buttermilk chicken burger and it was amazing. The staff are warm, friendly and very attentive. Will definitely be making this a regular stop with the kids

I usually stop by for a coffee and a slice of cake while on a peaceful walk, but I always leave with more – the selection of gluten-free treats is amazing, and I’m grateful it’s not the typical boring, store-bought brownie you often find elsewhere! 😄 Everything is clearly labelled, and the staff are highly knowledgeable about dietary requirements. The coffee and tea selection is fantastic, with specials regularly featured on the board. The pistachio latte is a personal favourite! They also have a great menu for breakfast and lunch, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. The manager is always more than happy to help with any gluten-free queries I have. Highly recommend!

I went in today and had possibly the most scrummy cake ive ever had with the cutest most spooky PSL ever!!! Their food is amazing, loads of different options, plenty of vegan and GF options too!! Will be visiting again soon!

Ahoy shipmates! Our sons 1st birthday party had exceptionally smooth sailing. Thank you to all the staff here at Lakeside Cafe. I couldn't be more grateful for the help, kindness, and amazing service you provided for the birthday party. The platters of sandwiches are tasty and fresh. Those sausage rolls were delicious, and the cakes are mouth watering. Staff went above and beyond, and I'd highly recommend this Lakeside Cafe to anyone looking for an occasion young or old. I'm so happy with how our sons first birthday party went. We even did a cheeky little gender reveal to celebrate our second. The family and friends all loved this place with all it's amenities they have to offer onsite.

Visited after long train journey and business dealing at Parkway. Very friendly and relaxing place with excellent egg mayo sandwich! With extra tomato when I asked, no problem. Coffee good, staff on the ball and smiling. Plus old train stuff….. brilliant!

This place is a bit of a hidden gem. I had the veggie breakfast burger and it was exceptional. Fast attentive service too.

Just popped in for breakfast...bought a small breakfast and a flat white coffee. I only live a few minutes away and with no groceries in, decided to give it a try. Really glad I did! The food was perfect, staff are friendly and the place looks lovely. Prices aren't too bad and you can do takeaway which I did for my son at home. I will definitely visit again.

Wanted to try somewhere different for breakfast locally and came across Lakeside cafe on Google. I last went here years ago when it was very basic so I was surprised at recent Google reviews which rated it highly with photos showing beautifully presented food. We were the first there and had a warm welcome. The cafe has had a significant makeover since I last went and is very stylish. Very good selection of cakes, pastries and a lot of choice of hot food. I had the Halloumi & shrooms, my partner had the Lakeside breakfast. Generous portions which were very well presented and tasted great. We’ll be back!

We had a delicious afternoon tea. We chose our own selection of sandwiches. The scones were warm and had a good portion of cakes of which we took some home because we were so full. The staff were very attentive and couldn’t do more for us. Will definitely return. A warm family atmosphere. Thank you.

£9.50 for one takeaway egg sandwich. Thin, cheap bread, sloppy egg. Enough said. Won't be returning for food...coffee was ok.

Breakfast burger is phenomenal, as are the milkshakes. Really nice Cafe with friendly, helpful staff Can't recommend it enough, been several times now and each visit has been a delight.

Really lovely cheese and ham toastie and caramel latte. Staff were really friendly and polite. Overall really great experience following on from a ride on the steam trains. Only suggestion would be offer of a napkin with the toastie otherwise fantastic

Met my friend for a walk, thought we’d have a pit stop at the cafe. Very friendly staff, engaged with my little boy as he was tucking into his snacks, food and drinks where lovely and very generous portions, great location for a walk with friends, will be back again. Really impressed with this cafe. Hadn’t been here for years and it’s had an update and looks beautiful. Excellent menu with vegan and vegetarian options. And the cakes…..wow! Spectacular. Staff are absolutely wonderful too, really friendly and helpful. Would recommend a visit.

We went to Lakeside cafe, and had a beautiful English breakfast, the staff were very kind as we ordered just after 12md ,they usual take breakfast orders and stop then, but they kindly cooked for 3 of us. Highly recommended. Will be back and try other delicious things off the menue. Thanks to all.

Love going here it is our favourite place. Food has always been excellent and have found staff very helpful especially with our relative who has dementia. Cakes are fabulous and we go regularly. Would definitely recommend.

The lotus biscoff shake that I ordered was to die for, the food also came quickly and interior overall was very tidy and clean. Big well done to all the staff that manages to maintain such a good environment for all the customers I really enjoyed revising with my friend here. 😄

Me and my friend went to this cafe and were served by this lovely little boy called Phillipe. He was very sweet and efficient. Also the train ride around the park was an exquisite treat for us. Definitely will be coming back again! 😆🤩

Great food, great service now all a happy family

Whilst meeting our friends from Ringwood, we decided to have a coffee and cake. The cafe was busy, so we asked the railway staff if we could use the adjacent room, as our friend's mother is 98 years old, and needed to be kept in the warm, which they readily agreed to. We ordered the coffee and cakes, and after a considerable wait, they arrived. The coffee was not very hot, and one of our party could not drink his. The cakes were OK, but overpriced for a small slice. I later learned that the cafe owner was not happy that one of our friends had asked the railway staff to use the overflow room, and insisted that only she gave permission in future. Such a shame that the cafe is not as excellent as the Steam Railway. We will not be returning again.

Rubbish overpriced coffee and food. Unfriendly service. Owner quite rude and un-cooperative. Quite a shame as it used to be really good value. Spoils a good family day out at the excellent steam railway.

14 members of the family gathered for Jan’s birthday brunch, tables were reserved and ready when we arrived. A friendly welcome and drink orders taken as family arrived. Food preordered and as they started to serve our breakfast they had names to go with the food, very impressed. A chocolate birthday cake “ preordered “ had been placed in the centre of the table ready for Jan to have with candles and everyone to sing Happy Birthday and the grandchildren to blow out the candles. We stopped off for a coffee with my wife and daughter. I missed breakfast, so I decided to go for a bacon sandwich, and my daughter chose a mashed avocado on toast. Then we noticed all of the home made cakes, OMG! My daughter went for the Mini Biscoff Bruce, and I went for the Coffee & Pecan (Vegan) Flapjack. Well, you can't have a coffee without a slice of cake, right! Absolutely delicious!! The cakes arrived with an extra fork just in case my wife changed her mind and dipped in... Yes of course she did :O) The Mini Biscoff, with its many layers, was a bit too filling after avocado toast. No problem, our host packed it up in a take-home box and bag for my daughter to enjoy later. I would really recommend Lakeside Cafe Eastleigh. If your in the neighbourhood or simply need a break from the M27,. You can't do better than to stop by. Loads of parking, friendly service, full-on breakfasts, fantastic fresh home made cakes, and good coffee. Catering for gluten-free and vegan diets, and doggy bags to go, what's more to want. JM
