Lakeside Bar and Restaurant in North Lincolnshire

AWFUL doesn’t cover it. Ordered the chicken khoma, gammon and extra sides. All arrived slightly warm. Spoke the the lady at the bar (she was friendly) apologising she agreed the food was cold and happy to replace. Arrived back 20min later fully microwaved (I have no issues with warming food in the microwave tbh) but it was so hard all was inedible. For over £30 was a disgrace. Avoid and im not a fussy eater!

This is the best place myself and a friend have eaten, we stayed for 3 nights and we will be back. The food was very good

The site is very clean, and the fishing is very good, £14.50 for a fishing pass for 2 days from the reception. I would recommend caravan no 73, for a pleasant relaxing stay

Had our evening meal here one night. Good choices on menu, prices reasonable. Slightly longer wait time than should have been, but wasn't a massive issue. Friendly bar staff, waitresses not so much. Food was good and served hot.

The food was poor for the price little choice because the orders we asked for they didn’t have at least 5/6 meals weren’t available ! The chips were diabolical burnt brown and tasteless I think a new chef is required most definitely because the place and surroundings are lovely but no good if the food isn’t good ! The young man that served us behind the bar very pleasant so it wasn’t his fault ! New Chef urgently required !

Not impressed at all. Cold food which should have been hot, long wait between courses, wrong food brought. Microwaved rubbish. Waiting staff really good and the place itself amazing. Shame can't be said about the food/chef. Will not be returning.

This place looks great but is run by overgrown teenagers who don't give a monkeys and just want to play on their phones and steal a wage..... this review is about the pub only, as 7 lakes as a site is lovely, but they should kick out the pub staff and get some experience in. Food is disgusting, staff need firing and waiting staff need slapping. Not interesting in reviewing and food as it wasnt even reviewable as it was that bad.....crap food at its best... just dont bother

An hour wait for burger and chips! And not that great either - over cooked - it would be after that time! Nice location, so maybe just stick to a coffee or a drink. Plenty of nice other places to eat.

Ordered two meals a Chicken dinner and a full English breakfast which arrived just under the hour. The restaurant at the time was not busy. Breakfast beans were only warm and the sausage quality was poor, the cheapest on the market. Chicken dinner was very dry and overall very poor. We won't be back anytime soon. Definitely the poorest of quality and service.

We have just eaten Sunday lunch here. It was the worst meal ever. We both had lamb shanks, mine was edible but my husbands was dry and tough. All the vegetables were frozen, nothing fresh, and they were all stewed to bits, very rubbery and tasteless. The vegetables were cool not hot. I felt sorry for the waitress who was very apologetic and she said she would tell the kitchen. We both ate very little of our meal. Unfortunately this experience has put us off ever returning.

Attended the lakes like we do on a regular basis for drinks as we live locally, ordered food for the children and this is what arrived. Hunters chicken apparently - no sauce and dry. At the time of ordering we were the only people in the restaurant eating so not really an excuse for serving such a poor dish. Complained to the bar staff and asked for sauce - was eventually asked did we want a fresh dish. The dish shouldn’t have been served in the first place. Bar staff spot on - as always. We won’t be eating here again - when the restaurant cannot get things right during quiet periods, what hope is there when it’s busy high season ? On arrival was told to wait as they couldn’t cook for more than 10 people without pre ordering ! God knows what would happen if 7 couple turned up ! Staff were unapologetic , waited 15 mins to be seated waited another 90 mins for the rubbish food … cold onion rings and veg and a cheap crap pie ! Won’t be returning was a shambles form start to finish and the manager … well the less said the better . Disgusting service , 18th birthday ruined !

Where to start? A christening in the adults area, kids running amok, parents totally uninterested in keeping them under control. When an understandably annoyed chap got fed up of kids hiding under his table and went to the bar to complain, the bar staff shrugged their shoulders. Then to top it all, the fire alarm started going off. The bar staff we're no more helpful, more like a rabbit in a cars head lights. Completely clueless as what to do. So one of them decided the best option was to run to the office and seek advise. At this point we took our leave and left them to it.

worst place ive ever been to food microwave rubish . bad.atmoosphere . 90% staff behind bar not got a clue .. some staff turn up off duty and language so bad from them . plus mickey taking of disabled people from some bar staff .outside off restuarant bin covered with cobwebs for yrs now. place looks filthy . lazy bar staff . the fishing is bad as never clean the weed out not maintained enough .some bar staff on drugs . the worst caravan site ive ever experienced in my life .not there to make sure you have lovely time there just want you to buy van so can rip you off . nothing for kids to do unless they fish which is crap.

Would alert people to check winter hours.We called today and it was closed lunchtime. A large notice on door saying “we are open “ and a small notice with reduced hours.

I have used this park for dog walking and general exercise for the past 3 years. I am not a resident however this park has been open to the public for years before I moved to the area. I have came across many non residents using this park also and enjoyed the conversations in passing. Today my husband has been rudely approached by the security guard and Forrest ranger, treated like a criminal for doing the same dog walk we have done for the past 3 years. He was told he was not allowed to use the park as it is private property??? I contacted the director today who rudley went round in circles firstly saying that yes it is open to the public then continued to say it isn't in the same sentence He then continued to explain that as long as we parked outside we would be able carry on using this park. However in the same sentence carries on to say we might be asked to leave by security? Very confusing. I was rudley at the end of the conversation told to find somewhere else to walk my dog. If this is how the director talks to people I dread to think how the rest of the staff here deal with the public.These people need to decide whether this park is permitted to public use or whether this is strictly private property. This is extremely upsetting for many members of the public who have used this area for years.I also wouldn't advise eating here as the 2 times we have we've had to complain. Food coming out late, cold and bland. This is also very confusing as the restaurant is also apparently open to the public (before lockdown) Now I know the attitude and manarism of the management here I would never step foot in this park again and will also be advising other members of the public to do the same.

Very slow service for what can only be described as mediocre food. Waited 1hr 10 mins for a burger and a small breakfast!! On complaining was told it’s due to Covid restrictions I’ve eaten out and had no problems anywhere else because if ‘Covid restrictions’. I would give it a miss, I would never go back!

Called in for dinner after work to treat the hubby. Wow, fantastic place. Very chilled out atmosphere. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and the food was delicious. I had the fajitas, my hubby had the tikka skewers. He said they were so tasty. Would highly recommend

In response to the two previous reviews, I happen to be sat in the next booth to these customers who where very rude and condescending. Firstly the lady from the trio had been in from opening practically and so was fully aware how busy it had got very quickly and might I add she had already eaten once. When her two male friends joined her service was in full swing, one of the men went up to the bar and loudly vocalised that he had been waiting for his food which secured him a free round of drinks. Happy to take those he then received his food but felt it necessary to call over the manageress who explained it had become very busy very quickly and everything had been done to get the food out as fast as possible. There had been several large tables in and everyone was happily just enjoying the venue. I feel I had to comment as the customers in question where quite obviously out for trouble and I thought the manageress handled it great. I would have knocked his block off

Waited an hour for food...chatted to manager who was rude and said she “wasn’t taking any advise from me”. Surely a customers advice is important! Hardly anyone in so why are we waiting an hour for food! She said it’s closed season and she wasn’t putting any more staff on. Awful last 4 visits since the refurb. Never again!

Visited today with a group of friends, ordered our meals as we would usually. Then waited for an hour before anything came to our table, we was beyond hungry at this point!! Then one of my friends mentioned this to the manageress who then responded very rudely. He gave simple advice and her response to this was ‘and why would I take advice from you’ wow! Not the sort of thing I would be saying to a customer. The excuse for barely any staff was that it’s ‘closed season’ I’m sure the restaurant is open all year round so they don’t really have a closed season!! Yes it’s half term but surely you should be expecting busy times with the kids off school so get more staff in! I know I could find them a couple of jobs to keep them busy like hoovering the carpets and checking the sauce bottles were full!! Plenty to do but staff stood on their phones! Great advertisement! Pull your socks up 7 Lakes!! Spent all that money on a refurb, you’d think the standards would have gone up, seems not.

Me and a couple of friends went last week, cannot fault the service but some of the food left much to desired! I had Nachos for starters and they were lovely. A friend had the chicken goujons and they were okay. I had the cauliflower and Kale burger for main as I’m a vegetarian. And whilst it was edible I was fed up of it before I’d finished the burger. Bread was fairly dry and a little on the burnt side for my liking. Coleslaw was fairly tasteless and the chips were well just chips. Not overly expensive but not to it typical pub grub prices which in my opinion was all it is. Not that I’d never visit again but I won’t be rushing back.

Had a meal here and mine was appalling 2 Burgers ordered at the same time o e was first rate the second was Litteraly unedable , had clearly been reheated in a microwave most probably sent back by another customer as it was burnt,

A value for money restaurant with lovely views over one of the lakes.Nice food served by very knowledgeable and courteous staff,all in all well worth a visit wether your on site or not.

We came here with the kids for a change as we were in the area. The bar itself and facilities are lovely. However the menu expensive for what we got. Ordered the BBQ hunters chicken for me and pizza for my boy. The chicken was over cooked and the bbq sauce none existant Peas undercooked. My boys pizza was very poor quality. The other meals we ordered were okay, but nothing special. Service slow considering how quiet it was. Found the open kitchen interesting, especially as the young boy was eating as he was cooking.... Not very professional.

Visited for a walk around and nice drink in the sun, friendly staff good prices for drinks and the menu and food we seen looked good. Will be returning again soon

Have been visiting 7 lakes for some years as we have friends who live locally....it has always been lovely, good service and generous portions......unfortunately since the refurb we think it has deteriorated......tried twice recently....quality and quantity of food nowhere near as good, today I was ignored at the bar over several people who had not been there when I arrived, we then had a 30 minute wait for two very simple dishes, hubbies was ok but mine was lukewarm warm and over cooked, unfortunately we had a further appointment to get too so having waited so long I just had to eat it, probably look for somewhere different when visiting the area next time.

The staff at 7 lakes bar and restaurant are second to none, nothing is too much trouble.

We had a meal in the bar and have to say that after all the money spent on the refurbishment the food is far worse than before. This is the third time since the refit that we have eaten here and it doesn’t get any better. The portions have got smaller. The fish my partner had was horrible to the extent that he asked for his money back. The manageress didn’t even ask what was wrong with it. We will only be in here for drinks from now on, and even that’s rare. Very disappointed. Hope they up there game for rescue day.

As a local, who has to regularly put up with 2nd (to be fair not third) rate club singers played so loudly for several hours you cannot get away from it plus a lot of very loud firework displays perhaps I am a little biased, especially because they have made the lake much smaller over the years and the many geese and other wild water birds have reduced exponentially. However, my sister in law likes the place and when she comes over she likes to go to the restaurant, not for the food, just because she likes the lake that is a shadow of it's former self. Service is patchy, the menu is limited and the food quality is sub standard, tastes like frozen and microwaved not good at all. Plant pot ash trays are off putting. All in all not a local attraction, but if you like ready meals and manufactured environments, this is the place for you. Oh and it's next to a busy A road.

We stayed at 7 Lakes, and called for drinks in the newly built restraunt, The food was delicious, during our stay we had lovely meals, each day costing under £35 for 3 of us . Carling lager was £3-60 a pint.

Visited family & went to sus out referbished bar & restaurant. Still work in progress but been done out to a good standard. Been extended in a big way and although we didnt eat and new kitchen isnt up and running so the using old one the food which was being served looked lovely. Think they need to address kids running all over as when it gets busy and its now a massive place it will be dangerous. Few signs need to go up reminding parents to keep kids under control for safty reasons

An excellent venue with good food and drink. Situated by a lake which attracts an assortment of fisherman inc Robert Starkie who lives all year round on the site. You cannot miss him as he fishes day and night and if the weather defeats him sits in his caravan watching videos of fish. A real eccentric but friendly sort if your can tear him away from his rod !

The clubhouse is undergoing extensive expansion but the quality of the food and service has not been compromised.

I ordered New Yorker Beef Burger. It arrived promptly, but the fries were cold, the bread bum was stale and the burger over cooked. There was so much salt in the food my younger is burning! I wasn’t even asked at any point if my food was ok!

The restaurant is really nice with friendly staff and very generous portions of food which was lovely . There was a wait for food on Saturday ending big big surprising with the hot weather and the demand so we were not surprised and were forewarned by the staff. They coped really well considering and were friendly and approachable ! We have been a few times and the setting and facilities are lovely and we are only a few miles from home ! We live it here and will be back .

Been several times for food at Seven Lakes Bar. It can be very hit and miss whether you have a good meal or not. Service also can be similar. However, it's a pleasant place to sit and have a drink. Visit if you are happy with pub food, some of the prices can be expensive for what you get.

Very nice food and nice sized portions for the price very good value for money and child friendly. Staff always happy to help very nice and cosy setting in the winter very relaxed atmosphere.

Decided to visit for a meal tonight as had a 2 for 1 voucher out of local paper.

Had a meal on Thursday and returned with friends for Sunday lunch. Have to say the food is fantastic for the concept which is chain pub but was melt in the mouth the best I’ve experienced of it’s kind. Staff friendly and welcoming, log burner cosy and the views of the lake are exceptional. Would recommend.

Do not visit unless you are prepared for massive disappointments. The staff are bordering on plain rude, service slow despite the place being almost empty and the food is straight from the freezer into the microwave and then delivered to your dirty table. Avoid at all costs.

The last & first time we ate here was 7years ago when we went for Sunday lunch and aside from the service then being shocking and the food bland they put a actual jacket potato on our Sunday lunch along with the roast and mash?! Go figure. Yesterday,17/12, we decided to give it another whirl as we do drink here and have done so throughout these 7years we just never ate. So we took the in laws and our children for another attempt at Sunday lunch. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming and that’s were what’s good all ends here! The waitresses all have disgusting attitudes and slam things on the table the portions on the starters are all over the place with one having four deep fried garlic mushrooms and others having absolutely massive bowls of nachos,emphasis on the nachos here! Nothing else,ridiculous! We ordered the 2meat Sunday lunch,all had just turkey on with smash potatoes 1frozen Yorkshire pudding and rock hard microwaved veg. Another ordered the £17 mixed grill and ate one of the two sausages off it as there was coleslaw all over the other while the gammon was a slice of bacon the steak was incinerated the chicken breast was dry it was totally inedible! My husband complained and the bar staff agreed with him and knocked off some of the bill and gave us a complimentary round! Never again for us food wise!! Up your game get your chef to do what he’s paid for and make fresh yorkies and mash!! It’s not too hard!! and stop confusing people under the lakeside front call yourselves 7lakes on TripAdvisor so People can see all your crappy food reviews!!

Food was terrible . Staff even worse . But the head chef was rude and didn't like me complaining at all ... He came to my table and he was like 12 .... never visiting again. .

Went with kids and friends yesrerday to have some drinks and food.ordered loaded potatoe skins...they was to go in a bin.no potatoe...just skins loaded with onion and cheese,salad was dry and defo not fresh.kids meals looked more like a dog food,mash was too hard to eat.was informed that food is not fresh there.not a place to have a good food.

Visited yesterday beautiful sunny day sat out by the lake, fabulous setting tranquil , went to bar to order food male member of staff took order who was completely incompetent to say the least!!! Ordered mine and partners meals and round of drinks to table 122, son then arrived so added a third meal at the bar, ten mins one meal arrived almost thrown across table to son asked waitress where was further 2 meals she replied no more for table 122!! Our son had no cutlery to eat meal with was offered no condiments !!! 10 mins later the two meals we had ordered first finally arrived!! No cutlery no condiments offered !! Food presentation disgusting!! Quality of food absolutely appalling!! Lasagne pasta not at all cooked cheese boiled over dish disgusting, quarter pounders bread buns cheap stale and nasty served with salad, lol

Booked for Sunday lunch to celebrate husbands 70th birthday with 16 others, family & friends. Great lunch in beautiful surroundings overlooking the lake. Excellent, efficient service from the Manageress & staff. Just been awarded 5 Stars well done & well deserved.

To tell you the truth not much .. staff are straight out off school no training . food is not even eatable . I ordered a chicken burger is was rock soild chips soggy. I will never return to this place again

went to the 7 lakes country park just to have a look around with the wife on 9 june.had a drink and sat outside overlooking the lake as it was very sunny.very nice and pleasant place didn't have anything to eat but there was a few people eating would go back to try the food with its nice outlook

We came on a busy bank holiday, the atmosphere was amazing, paddle board racing was hilarious, food was great and such good value for money, the staff couldn't have done more for us as we had our parents with us and the lady behind the bar offered to leave an already busy bar to take my dads drinks to the table, had a great day and they are considering buying a van now. Excellent customer service.

BEWARE of this place, I visited this place on 3 occasions, the first saw a fight in the club bar next to me, the next time the police were called out to a 20 (yes twenty man brawl that started in one of the club houses, police logs show this, the owner seemed the worst for ware in my opinion, it was witnessed that drugs were freely being dealt in the club car park, with little concern of the owners despite having been told about it. When walking around the lakeside the smell of certain drugs could be strongly smelt, the owners seemed to have little power to stop this happening, as a family persons this is not the place to take children in my opinion.

Fancied just a light nibble so ordered spicy tortillas which came topped with cheese. Was thrown on table by a young waitress who could not get away quick enough but I am not surprised. It was delivered in a white bowl with what can only be described as cheese sauce poured on it from the chef who must have been stood on a ladder. All splashed across the bowl then baked on under a heat lamp or grill. Had a couple of mouthfuls which confirmed it was utter slop so asked the waitress if what i had looked appetising. She pulled a face, grinned and said not really. I was asked if i wanted another bowl which i declined if that was what everyone thought was acceptable to bring out of the kitchen. Took it away, no refund offered, nothing. Poor, poor and poor. The locals keep this place ticking over out of season and they need to be mindful serving repeated slop without a care in the world does the place no favours at all.

Excellent Staff, warm and friendly welcome. Great service. Stunning anytime of the year. Beautiful Lakeside setting with facilities to accommodate dogs. Plenty areas to eat and enjoy the food and it's own micro Brewary on site. Perfect.

My daughter has caravan on site so I go quite often..We have had a few meals in the restaurant but disappointed that the menu never seems to change..Bar staff seem pleasant. Like to go and have a drink overlooking the lakes. Would have more meals if menu was changed..

This venue is a great spot to take the family for a drink or lunch - especially when the weather is good. Over the past 3 years I have tried this place several times but the standard of food has always been a big disappointment. Each year & new season I always expect things to get better but unfortunately they don't! However we are more than happy to go for a drink & sit in the sun in lovely surroundings.

We come here rather a lot as we are local. Staff are always so friendly even when it's busy and they are clearly under pressure. The food has improved so much over the years and I can now say it's the best it has ever been (I did have to complain a couple of years ago as the Sunday carvery was dreadful) I've tried many things from the menu and its all been brilliant and huge portions as well which is always a plus!

Staying near to this restaurant, went for a meal, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was good. The selection was limited but good variety so there should be something to suit everybody. Price was midrange.

As a family we loved to visit 7 Lakes and enjoy great food, great location and nice people. HOWEVER, it's changed the food is freezer to microwave cheap pub grub and I've got to say the manager is anything but friendly. Never say your not happy or you will be treated exceptionally poorly. We will never spend our money at 7 Lakes again which us a shame. Hint to the manager. The customer is always right even if you disagree. Shameful.....

We called in o n Saturday evening and it was quite busy. Great for families, as there were a number of children running around. The menu is extensive and a a good range of pub grub available.the only guest beer was Doombar. There is micro brewery on site but their ales were not available which was disappointing. Also the music was too loud for us. This is great to take the kids but not if you want a quieter relaxing evening

We visit this restaurant on a regular basis, as normal this weekend the food was very good.

My wife and I took our daughter for a birthday lunch. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The menu was very good and the service was excellent. The days offer was a free drink with each main course, my daughter was offered a free sweet as it was her birthday. Lovely meal

Called for first time for something to eat at the restaurant/bar and was extremely surprised as to the quality and quantity of the meal, for such a brilliant price and to top it off excellent surroundings and very pleasant staff. Definitely recommend and will also be eating there again. I have a caravan on the site and the bar/restaurant is open to anyone so if in the area do not be afraid to venture in and be surprised at what facilities you find.
